I was taken to this shop by a gourmet friend who said their jerky was delicious. It was so tasty that I got hooked after trying it once and have been going back ever since. The jerky is cooked in-store and surprisingly, it is additive-free! Despite its appearance, it seems to be free of harmful ingredients. Once you try this jerky, you won't be able to go back to store-bought jerky. The jerky has a sweet and savory sauce that is well infused, and it is thick and meaty with a good chew. The flavor is slightly strong, but personally, I really like it. Recently, when I brought this jerky as a souvenir to a home party, everyone was impressed, so it could be a good gift as well. Although it is a bit pricey for jerky, it is definitely worth it. I think I will continue to buy it every time I come to Ginza.

I happened to pass by a cafe after leaving Kyubei and decided to have some coffee after my meal. The cafe had a stylish exterior, and I mistook it for a chocolate shop or a miscellaneous goods store. Upon entering, I was surprised to see a display case filled with pork jerky sold by weight. It was a specialty shop from Singapore established in 1933, known for "bakkwa" which is barbecued jerky. I rarely see pork jerky, so I decided to purchase a slice of pork jerky for around 400 yen. It was wrapped for me to enjoy while walking. It was made from the leg part of the pig, with an Asian-inspired aroma and a delicious sweet and savory flavor. It made me crave for some alcohol. It's impressive to find such a unique specialty shop in the city.

Around 3 pm on Sunday, I was drawn to a delicious smell and discovered "bakkwa" (dried meat in Hokkien), a barbecue processed jerky from a well-established Singaporean brand founded in 1933! I purchased two slices of sliced pork for a total of 677 yen. I enjoyed the hot jerky on the go! Made without any artificial seasonings, the jerky is slowly smoked over charcoal, giving it a secret and unique flavor. The restaurant has a Foodlog rating of 3.30 as of December 2021.

There was a stylish shop that caught my eye, so I asked the staff what kind of shop it was. It turned out to be a pork jerky store. I was able to sample the jerky and choose my favorite one to buy. They had different types of jerky, such as strips of pork belly and square pieces of jerky, so it was fun to choose. The taste was sweeter overall compared to American or Japanese jerky. Even the spicy option had a hint of sweetness, so if you don't like sweet flavors, you might not enjoy it.

On the way to my usual stomping grounds, I noticed a new chocolate shop had opened up, or so I thought. But to my surprise, it turned out to be a pork jerky shop! I couldn't help but laugh at the idea of pork jerky. A foodie friend suggested we check it out, so we went in. Apparently, the shop is famous in Singapore, but the people running it seemed to be Taiwanese or Chinese, speaking Mandarin. Well, Singapore is a melting pot of different cultures, so it wasn't a big deal. The owner was incredibly generous, offering us samples of almost everything in the shop. We ended up buying three types: Gourmet Fusion, Minced Pork, and Sliced Pork. In the end, despite my experience trying all sorts of foods from B-grade to Michelin-starred, I found that the flavors of the pork jerky didn't vary much between the different types. It's all simple, dried meat soaked in sweet sauce. The thickness and texture of the meat were the only differences. So, if you want to enjoy the variety of flavors, I recommend the Gourmet Fusion and the Chili Pork (spicy) options. The jerky can last at room temperature for a week, making it a perfect snack for home beer drinkers (which I am not, as I don't drink beer). I'm thinking of chopping some up to add to my salad tomorrow morning. Laugh.

Singaporean food. Sweet and thin meat dish with spicy seasoning. Sweet, spicy, and delicious. Feels like you've eaten a lot of meat. Cost is based on weight per gram. One piece of meat cost around 350 yen. Very satisfying. Would go well with beer. Seems perfect for eating while walking around. Thank you for the meal!

This! I instantly fell in love with it! It has become my favorite food. Originating in 1933, founder Teo Swee Ee refined the traditional recipe for dried meat and started selling it in Chinatown, creating the masterpiece known as "Bak Kwa" pork jerky. This time, I purchased it as a snack for home drinking during the pandemic, including: - Gourmet Bak Kwa 100g for 940 yen → 862 yen Made from the finest ingredients, this flagship product has a rich flavor with a sweet sauce. It's soft and addictively delicious. The sticky texture on your hands and teeth is also great. - Chili Gourmet Bak Kwa 100g for 940 yen → 1025 yen The spicy version of Gourmet Bak Kwa. If you're looking for some heat, this is the one. It's not too sweet and goes well with beer. ⭐️ You can ask for a specific amount and they will weigh it for you. The biggest charm is that it's softer than beef jerky. The more you chew, the juicier the umami flavor becomes. It pairs well with beer and even wine. Be careful, as it's addictive and you might keep eating until it's gone. ⭐️ It can be stored at room temperature for a long time and will remain soft and delicious. Highly recommended. "Thank you for the meal^ ^"

Gradually, more people are coming to Ginza. I stumbled upon "Bichenxiang" pork jerky while strolling around, and I really love the taste! I bought a lot for souvenirs, both the sweet and spicy ones. I tried one piece of each while walking, and the spicy one was quite hot! I had to replenish my water, but it only made the spiciness worse! Since it can be used in various dishes, I'm thinking of mixing it into salads when I get back. Thank you for the meal!

- Conclusion: The traditional method and secret sauce bring out the deliciousness of the pork, making it irresistible. It is smoked like jerky, with the aroma of charcoal also adding to the experience. This will be the perfect beer snack this year. My visits to Ginza just got even more exciting. - Review: This Singaporean establishment is apparently very famous in Singapore. I visited their Ginza branch as I was in the area. At first glance, it looks like pork jerky, but it's called Barbecue Pork. I chose the Golden Coins, which are coin-shaped and easy to eat. It was softer than sliced pork and surprisingly sweet. The taste of the secret sauce and the aroma of the charcoal smoke lingered, making it quite addictive.

In conclusion, the taste was not something that made me want to eat it again. The main issue was that the meat, which had been dehydrated and cooked like pork jerky, was too sweet. The sweetness was so overwhelming that it didn't make me want to try it again. When making beef jerky or corned beef at home, the flavors are condensed due to dehydration, and the richness is packed inside the meat. This results in a gradual release of flavors as you chew, rather than an immediate burst upon tasting. I believe that in order to appeal to a fast-food audience, they added various seasonings to the meat, causing it to become overly sweet and reminiscent of the cheap candies I ate as a child. They mentioned having over 80 years of history in Singapore, but that didn't impress me much.

After having lunch in Ginza, I was walking along Suzuran Street towards the station, which I don't usually walk on. I was looking at various shops, trying to find a place I wanted to visit, when I suddenly saw a shop with "Singapore" written on it. The shop was called Meijiya. I had never heard of it before. The sign said "Minced Pork". I tried a sample, and it tasted like sweet seasoned pork jerky. It was unusual, so I decided to buy some to take home. Inside the shop, there were different varieties. I was indecisive about which ones to buy, but this time I decided to get the No.1 popular items: Sliced Pork and Chili Gourmet Bak Kwa. The Sliced Pork was exactly as I had imagined - sweet pork jerky. It wasn't beyond my expectations, but it had a taste that could become addictive. It's a flavor I would want to have occasionally. I thought the Chili Gourmet Bak Kwa wouldn't be very spicy at first, but it turned out to be spicy later on. It was more than just slightly spicy, it had a solid kick to it. People who don't like spicy food might find it difficult to eat. I can imagine the other flavors as well, but I think I would crave them from time to time. Thank you for the meal.

I visited GINZA SIX and happened to discover a shop called "Bee Cheng Hiang" from Singapore. It is a well-established brand from Singapore founded in 1933, and it first landed in Japan in 2016. Now they have a store in Ginza 5-chome and Shinbashi, and it seems like the one in GINZA SIX is a demo store. My companion already knew about this place, so we decided to give it a try. We tried some samples of sliced pork, beef jerky, and gourmet fusion. The sliced pork was marinated in a sweet sauce, making it quite sweet. The meat was tender and had a fragrant aroma. It goes well with beer! The gourmet fusion was also sweet, with a mix of two different cuts of meat minced together. I can't remember the exact details, but both varieties were delicious. If you're curious, try them out and share your review. They make a great beer snack. Thank you for the meal!

I walked from Yurakucho Station to the back of Uniqlo Ginza Store. I received this pork slice as a souvenir from my friend in Singapore, and after searching for its deliciousness, I discovered that there is a shop in Ginza. This visit was to try out the shop. It is a take-out only shop, so you can only sample the products. However, you can try all the products for free, so you can satisfy your hunger. After sampling, I got 5 pieces of the classic pork slices and 2 pieces of easy-to-tear pork mince. (There is a spicy version available, which was recommended as a "snack with alcohol," but I personally chose the sweet and savory type.) Even though they were pre-made, they were warmed up on a heater, creating a delicious aroma that brought a sense of happiness under the cold winter sky. When it comes to taste, there may be preferences among Asian food lovers, but for those who enjoy it, I highly recommend visiting this shop in Ginza.

When I came to Ginza by car, I often use the parking lot of the Kyoei Building. From there, when I walk towards the Ginza intersection, I pass by this place. I had noticed it a few times and thought it looked delicious, so I decided to visit for the first time. The sign said "additive-free." They cook inside the shop, but I didn't smell any unpleasant additives. It seems to be a shop from Singapore, and the staff also seemed Singaporean. As I was looking at the showcase wondering what to choose, they offered me a sample. The sweet and savory flavor of the char siu, with a hint of honey in Chinese cuisine, suited my taste. The chili pork is indeed spicy, but it has a nice level of spiciness. I bought the sliced pork and chili pork. The normal sliced pork is quite sweet, with a flavor reminiscent of dishes I had in Singapore before. It has a soft beef jerky-like texture, with a strong barbecue flavor from the pork fat. I left it in the car for a few hours, but it didn't pick up any smell. The fact that it's additive-free is a big plus. Taste preferences may vary, but it seems suitable for those who like Southeast Asian cuisine or the sweet char siu flavor in Chinese cuisine. I think I will revisit this place.

Located near Shinbashi Station, just across the main street. When I heard about Bakwa, an unfamiliar dish, I couldn't help but Google it. In simple terms, it's like sweet and savory sauce-grilled tender pork jerky?! The slightly warm, Japanese-style sauce is both new and nostalgic. Personally, I found the atmosphere to be more down-to-earth, like a hot corner in a convenience store, rather than a fancy chocolate specialty shop. It was quite a deal during Happy Hour, but the prices for takeout are a bit high, so it might be considered an antenna shop in Japan.

The pork jerky at Coco is a great gift for close friends and is said to go well with alcohol. I didn't really understand it at first, but decided to buy some for myself. It looks thin and easy to eat. There are various flavors available, but I recommend the most standard one. There are also spicy options. The price is based on weight. Since I might not like it, I chose smaller pieces. The first few bites tasted like barbecue and were delicious. It doesn't seem like something you would eat a lot of at once, so I decided to eat it little by little.

Located just off Ginza Suzuran Street, this shop is known for its popular pork jerky from Singapore. They pride themselves on using no additives. The shop specializes in takeout, offering a variety of cuts and two flavors: regular (sweet) and spicy. They are generous with samples, allowing customers to compare different options. The regular flavor is quite sweet, with a soft and moist texture. The spicy flavor seemed forced and wasn't as good. I personally preferred the simple sliced pork, which was my favorite. While I don't dislike the sweet flavor, considering the price, it's not exceptionally delicious. They also offer gift packages that can last for a year, but since the taste is subjective, it may not make the best gift. If the price were a bit lower, I might consider buying it for myself. Overall, I don't think I'll be a repeat customer.
