Roast beef burger introduced on the TV show "Ousama no Branch". Located on the first floor of the newly built Kabukicho Tower. Visited on Monday at 19:05, seating rate was around 40%. A famous yakiniku restaurant called Heijo-en has opened a new concept called "Yakiniku Tokku" on the first floor of the newly built Kabukicho Tower, right in front of Seibu Shinjuku Station. When I arrived at night, it felt a bit like a bar and was a little intimidating, but I didn't want to bother looking for another place, so I decided to go in after confirming with the staff at the entrance that the popular number one roast beef burger introduced on the TV show was also available on the menu at night, even though it wasn't displayed on the signboard. The interior of the restaurant is new and clean, and stylish! As soon as I sat down, I was asked to start with a drink, and given the drink menu. As expected, it seems to be a one drink minimum at night. I looked through the menu and saw that they had homemade lemonade and ginger ale, so I ordered the lemonade. The food menu was brought to me after the drink menu was taken away, and of course, I ordered the roast beef burger that was said to be the number one popular menu on the TV show. By the way, the price was listed as 1880 yen for an 80g roast beef burger during brunch, but it was actually 1980 yen. Maybe it was the lunch price? Well, the information on Tabelog also says 1980 yen. The homemade lemonade arrived quickly. It had a freshly shaved feel to it, and definitely tasted homemade. The roast beef burger arrived in just over 5 minutes. They offered to add pepper, and a huge pepper mill was brought to the table... it was huge!! After adding pepper, I took a photo and started eating. Indeed, it has a good appearance with visible marbling, giving off the vibe of a good roast beef. However, the taste... it was delicious, but the strong acidity of the gravy sauce (as mentioned on the TV show) overpowered the taste of the roast beef, which I expected to be the highlight. Maybe it's because it's thinly sliced, unlike a hamburger. The taste is dominated by the gravy sauce and the bread. The total bill, including tax, was 2709 yen for the 600 yen lemonade and the 1980 yen roast beef burger, plus a 5% service charge. Nighttime prices do feel a bit expensive, so maybe I'll come back during lunchtime to try the hamburger.
