This is Inageya in Honcho, Fussa City. I visited this interesting supermarket (liquor section) for my series of visits to supermarkets that caught my attention recently. Just like Inageya, this store also seems to bake bread on site (Bon Matan). From their selection, I purchased Old Tom Strong Ale ¥480 + tax, Edelweiss Snow Fresh ¥450 + tax, Negra Modelo ¥303 + tax, Garlic France ¥160 + tax, Ohtama Ham Pork Belly Sausage ¥458-92 (20% discount) + tax, and Ohtama Ham Smoked Liver ¥358 + tax. Old Tom Strong Ale... Old Ale? Barleywine? Malt, hops, sugars. 8% to less than 9% (8.5%). 330ml bottle. Red-brown to dark brown. Dry fruits, raisins, nuts, fortified wine, sweet aroma. Bitterness + astringency. Malt sweetness. Hardly any acidity. Fairly rich but surprisingly light-bodied. Good for sipping without snacks? Edelweiss Snow Fresh... Herbal wheat beer. Malt (barley, wheat), hops, sugars, herbal extracts, herbs (European elder, mint, arnica, lovage, nutmeg, quince). 5.0%. 330ml bottle. Twist cap. Hazy yellow. Banana, yeast aroma. Herbal, honey, sugar sweet aroma. Sweet taste. Slight acidity. No bitterness. Negra Modelo... Vienna Lager? Malt, hops, rice, antioxidant (ascorbic acid). 5.5%. 355ml bottle. Amber to brown. Aromatic. Nuts, nuts. Slight sweetness and acidity. The bitterness is just enough to feel the toasty flavor, not too strong. Garlic France... I toasted it. It has a garlic aroma but not too strong. The bread itself is light, with a good hint of buttery saltiness. A more distinct flavor would be more delicious. Ohtama Ham Pork Belly Sausage... Just the right amount of saltiness. A bit greasy due to the belly, but very juicy with plenty of meat juice! A sausage that clearly conveys the taste of the meat. It has a clear texture and a good bite. This is a very delicious and tasty one. Ohtama Ham Smoked Liver... It has a smoky aroma. Well-seasoned but not too salty. No dryness, firm texture. No unpleasant smell, good for snacking. Well done, Inageya! Thank you for the meal.
