In 2012, the Kokuryo Station was renovated to be underground, and it surprised many when the train approaching melody played the theme song of the TV show "Seibu Keisatsu" (Western Police). In February 2021, at the request of Chofu City, the nearest station to Ishihara Promotion was changed. The above-ground area has been redeveloped and now features a spacious rotary in front of the station, with a modern tower on the right called Gran Tower Chofu Kokuryo Le Passage. The first and second floors have various shops, while the third floor houses public facilities of Chofu City. On the first floor, there is a large Nishi-Ya store, which is larger than other Nishi-Ya stores. It can be confusing to navigate, but if you head in the direction where Lehman Brothers went, you will find the right section. Inside, there is a corner with bread, bento boxes, and bottled drinks. I bought a Nishi-Ya okaka rice ball (73 yen) and a Nishi-Ya carbonated water (52 yen), paid with PayPay using my Rakuten Point card, and sat on a bench in the spacious rotary in front of the station to enjoy my meal. The Nishi-Ya rice ball, filled with plenty of bonito flakes from the Nishi-Ya Kawagoe factory, paired well with the well-known SanGaria carbonated water. It was a delicious and affordable meal.

No.2628 In front of Kokuryo Station on the Keio Line. There is a supermarket SEIYU in front of the station. This SEIYU is open 24 hours. It's great to have a 24-hour store during the pandemic. So, I ended up stopping by this supermarket because work got delayed. Well, it's quite far from my home, so I don't really see the point of visiting on purpose haha. SEIYU has a wide variety of private brand products, so today I bought some of those. Luxurious 28% Grapefruit Chuhai Omurice-style Onigiri and others. Luxurious 28% Grapefruit Chuhai - it's 95 yen cheaper... 350ml can of Chuhai for 95 yen! It seems to be an original brand that caters to the needs of consumers or customers. As for the taste, it's super sweet. Why is it so sweet? It can't be that grapefruits from Israel or South Africa are this sweet. It's loaded with fructose and glucose... Cheap things always have some quirks. It's like drinking alcohol mixed with syrup... haha.

There is a Seiyu supermarket near Kokuracho station. I'm not sure when they put discount stickers on items, but I rarely see items with half price stickers. However, when I went in the morning, I found sushi rolls with half price stickers on them. I chose the "Tuna Tataki Rolls" for breakfast. It's a great deal to get them at half price. The supermarket tuna may not be super fresh, but it's soft and you can tell it's tuna. There's no problem with the quality. It's a large portion for around 200 yen with the discount. Great deal.

Today, I went to the station in Kunitachi for work, which is an area I often wander around at night. It's my first time being there during the day, and I feel a bit embarrassed (laughs). I parked my car in a coin parking lot and thought about grabbing a meal. I checked out a ramen shop, a hamburger joint, and a Chinese restaurant, but they were all unbelievably crowded. In situations like this, my best ally is the Seiyu supermarket next to the station. Among the bento boxes priced from 298 yen to 398 yen, I chose the "Demiglace Hamburger & Pork Ginger Bento Box for 298 yen." This is the first time I've had such a cheap bento box, but is it okay? (laughs) I tried it! The hamburger would've been a no-go without the demiglace sauce, and the pork ginger was mostly onions stir-fried with very little meat. The tastiest part was the simmered hijiki seaweed (laughs). It's edible because it's only 298 yen, but I thought maybe it's worth paying an extra 100 yen for something better (laughs).

Good evening! Today, I went to Tokyo for training. I left home at the dark early hour of 5 am! Relied on the navigation for about 2 and a half hours, still got lost (^^;) Had a one-hour lunch break with no specific place to eat ♪ What should I do (panicking) Ran into the large supermarket "Seiyu"!! Bought a bento box, snacks, and tea ☆ The bento box from Yasui was less than 300 yen, I think ☆ It was delicious with a lot of volume for the price. It had hamburger, pork, macaroni, kinpira, rice. Ate quickly and went back for the training session, which ended at 3 pm. I must say, I reevaluated the bento boxes from Seiyu!

You may know Kakuyasu Supermarket's supermarket, Seiyu. They offer a variety of affordable items including bento boxes, side dishes, and bread, all at prices that live up to their name. One recommended item at Seiyu is their fried foods, especially the croquettes and minced cutlets. While these items may cost around 100 yen at other supermarkets, Seiyu sells them for just 49 yen, almost half the price. And they taste delicious too. The minced cutlets are juicy on the inside, and the croquettes have a nice fluffy texture from the potatoes. Their bento boxes are also reasonably priced at 298 yen for the cheaper options, with quality that is on par with other supermarkets. [Visited again on December 23, 2013] I purchased the Special Chicken Minced Cutlet Bento (298 yen) and while the taste was decent (not bad), the portion size was quite generous for the price, making it a satisfying meal overall.
