This is my first time watching a J-League game at Ajinomoto Stadium. You can't bring bottles or cans into the stadium, so I got some plum wine in a paper pack and carbonated water in a PET bottle. I made a plum wine sour in a vinyl cup with ice and enjoyed it. The convenience store is in the opposite direction of the stadium, but it's spacious, clean, and has an eat-in corner, so it seems convenient for meeting up with friends.

[2016/11/30] I occasionally use this place as it is located in front of the station. Two years later, nothing has changed, as there is only a McDonald's in front of the station, this is the only cafe-like shop at the south exit of the station (even though it is a convenience store). It would be nice if the coffee here was a bit stronger...
[2014/07/15] Is a convenience store a restaurant??? Are convenience store bento boxes gourmet??? I have various doubts, so I generally do not review convenience stores, but I want to write about this one. This is because there are hardly any cafes or coffee shops around Higashi-Kurume Station, and the only places to easily drink coffee are McDonald's at the north exit of the station or Lawson at the south exit. I usually make coffee at home in the morning and take it with me, but today I didn't have time, so I stopped by Lawson in front of Higashi-Kurume Station after getting off the train. They have a large seating area which is convenient for resting. When I ordered iced coffee at the register, the staff set the cup in the machine and poured the coffee. However, one thing to be careful about is that the staff will automatically add milk and sugar. I usually drink black coffee, but today I wanted to raise my blood sugar a bit (!) so I asked for one milk and one syrup. However, before I could stop them, they quickly poured both into the cup. I wanted to adjust the sweetness of the syrup myself, so I was a bit disappointed... The taste of the coffee is neither good nor bad... I think it's an average taste.

Hatagaya has transformed a lot in the past 20 years with the addition of stadiums like Ajinomoto Stadium and Amino Vital Stadium, as well as the Police Academy and Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. It used to be known as Kanto Village due to the presence of a US military base nearby. There were shops selling US-made goods along the Koshu Highway, and I remember riding my bike from school in Kichijoji to buy American T-shirts. The Lawson convenience store near Hatagaya Station's south exit gets really busy on J-League match days. I recently tried their new "Hamburger Napolitan" for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I wish they would include powdered cheese and Tabasco sauce with it though. Another new item, the "Teriyaki Chicken and Egg," was also worth trying.

One Sunday morning in May 2015, I visited this Lawson store alone. This Lawson is located at the south exit of Keio Line's Tachikawa-Kita Station, right after going down the stairs. The north exit has a bus rotary with people getting off to go to Ajinomoto Stadium or Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, making it lively, but the south exit feels more like a quiet residential area. The notable feature of this Lawson is the spacious eat-in area, with square tables and round tables placed around. There were also decorations like FC Tokyo jerseys. I bought Lawson's private brand jasmine tea and enjoyed a break while reading the Nikkei newspaper. On a weekday morning in May 2015, I visited alone to buy bread for breakfast. I bought the "Three Types of Croquette Roll" and "Sea Chicken Mayonnaise". Especially the "Three Types of Croquette Roll" was a bit pricey, but it gave me a satisfying feeling of "I ate croquette!".

Lawson, which boasts the second highest sales in the convenience store industry, is located right by the south exit of Tachikawa-Kita Station on the Keio Line. Tachikawa-Kita is known as the home of FC Tokyo, and this Lawson store is heavily influenced by that, with FC Tokyo goods displayed in the eat-in area. This Lawson is quite big, with a spacious eat-in area and a wide sales floor. They also have a homemade deli corner called "Machikado Kitchen," which seems to be a hot topic right now. I purchased the "Chicken and Burdock Rice Ball" there. The rice is reasonably fluffy and has a fresh flavor, as if it were just cooked. The burdock is crunchy and large, and the meat in the middle is tender, giving it a homemade feel. The rice ball costs 160 yen each. Whether you consider this expensive or cheap is up to you!
