Yesterday, I went to a nearby shop called "Sato Butcher Shop" and bought croquettes to eat. I had never been there before, but I saw it on "Gourmet Detective" the Sunday before last, so this was my first visit. I arrived at the shop around 11:30 (photo 1)... The prices were as expected, very affordable (photo 2). I bought two vegetable croquettes (¥80 each) and one fried horse mackerel (¥100). All of this only cost ¥260, which is very wallet-friendly and much appreciated. Here is a photo of the food on a plate at home (photo 3)... The taste was gentle for both items, and there was no uncomfortable feeling in my throat or stomach that often comes with fried food. The portions were generous, and it was clear that they used fresh oil for frying and made each item by hand with care. Even now, I have a very positive impression of the place. It's like discovering a good restaurant all over again! I plan to become a regular customer. That's all.

I usually buy meat at a nearby supermarket, but I was curious so I bought pork belly 250g, miso-marinated pork loin x2, and fried horse mackerel x2 here. It cost about 800 yen in total. They were all tender without any unpleasant smell, especially the pork belly which was of uniform thickness and delicious, even though it was about half the price of the supermarket. I won't be buying meat from the supermarket anymore. The miso-marinated pork loin was also tender and tasty.

On Sundays, this butcher shop that also sells fried food is open. I bought a croquette for 80 yen and a squid fry for 100 yen. Even after the tax increase, the prices remained the same, including tax. It was a delightful shop with a down-to-earth atmosphere.

"Sato's Meat Shop" is located in the second oldest Satake shopping street in Japan, a simple local butcher shop. The shop is in a somewhat quiet shopping street, and by 3 pm, the old man at the butcher shop is already taking a nap inside. It's a peaceful scene. However, being an established butcher shop, the owner has a good eye for quality, and the fresh meat on display looks delicious. Next to the meat case is a section for fried foods and other side dishes. By midday, most of the items are leftovers. But buying a few and taking them home adds a little enjoyment before eating. Croquettes for 80 yen, ham cutlets for 80 yen, and bite-sized cutlets for 100 yen. You don't need to wake up the napping old man to fry up a minced cutlet, just quietly finish up the remaining fried items. Leftover items in shops like this are not because they are unpopular, but because they are popular and there was a bit extra made. Small local shops like this have a better sense of what will sell. Vegetable croquettes with corn and carrots, tender and flavorful bite-sized cutlets, and thin but rich ham cutlets. This is how local side dishes should be! The side dishes in the paper bag together have a slight warmth that keeps the batter soft. But at home, there is a toaster with a setting for reheating fried foods at 300W! This feature alone was the reason for buying the machine. Enjoy! (They're delicious as is, but reheating them makes them even better!)

I arrived at Satake Shotengai, right by the Shingumicho Station of the Tsukuba Express, also known as the Tsukuba EX. It is said to be the second oldest shopping street in Japan, after the Katamachi Shotengai in Kanazawa. The shop of Sato Butcher, located in the middle of the shopping street, caught my eye. They were selling fried food next to the shop, so I couldn't resist buying some. I purchased a Menchi Katsu for 120 yen and a Ham Katsu for 80 yen. When I got home and toasted them in the toaster, I wondered if meat shops' fried food tastes better. It's one of the mysteries of the shopping street.

I had lunch at Kuramae Iseya and started my casual food walk today. As I was walking around as usual, I stumbled upon a meat shop in a shopping street. I found Sato Seinikuten shop and decided to try their "hitokuchi katsu" (one-bite cutlet). The katsu was crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside, with a hint of pepper adding a bit of spiciness. However, I found the fat a bit heavy, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it left a good impression as a decent meat dish. Thank you, Sato Seinikuten shop.

Do not remember~ When I moved in~ Excitement & chaos= < Neighborhood: Fry investigation >... No motivation, unclear... < Takeout use when moving > "There are two shopping streets" Sales talk when buying a condominium, "Oh, that's good...)/"... After moving, let's see... There are two shopping streets around here. "Okazu Yokocho" and "Satake Shopping Street". Hmm, not much energy... Oh, I heard that shopping streets in the countryside are not lively, is it the same here? Oh, the selling point of this shopping street is "the second oldest shopping street in Japan". I see, so that's it. Is there anything else around here? Right nearby is "Ameya Yokocho", there are people there but they don't come here... "Sato Butcher Shop", there is only one shop that seems to sell side dishes here. It feels like the last stand. The most popular place in the shopping street is the fry shop. It's a shop that should be there. If this shop were to disappear, the value of the shopping street would be significantly... Oh, the continuity of existence itself is expected, there is something not weak... Hmm, only 2 fried oysters left. The owner says, "I'll fry them, please wait a bit" and "Oh, then I'll have a minced cutlet." The minced cutlet is sold out. It feels like a tea snack, so 2 fried oysters, croquette, and horse mackerel fry. "I'll go on a neighborhood patrol for a bit." "I'll fry them for you." Neighborhood reconnaissance... Surprisingly, it feels like a shop you want to enter smoothly... "It's 510 yen, I'll give you some fried chicken as a service." "Oh, that's nice, here you go." One fried chicken. "Do you need tartar sauce?" "I'll bring it." Unnecessary Showa oil is sprinkled... "See you later." "I'll give you 2 fried chickens and a spring roll as a bonus."... Later, I revisited and got the star of fried food, "minced cutlet." The fried oysters were as expected. Maintaining the norm. The horse mackerel fry is, well, it's that kind of horse mackerel, maybe prioritizing cheapness... The croquette is a croquette. Freshly fried, well, it's a croquette... The minced cutlet is the standard for fried foods. In the past ten years, there has been a mix-type minced cutlet, also found in hamburgers... The content is questionable... The mix-type escape is still visible. At a selling price of 120 yen, there may be a limit to the meatiness... Are customers looking for cheap fried foods... Trying to maintain prices is the difficulty of business. How about following the same route as supermarkets and convenience stores... Can't win, yo. The future is probably what they are thinking, it will likely happen... Like a ramen shop, specializing in fried foods and==!!! Firmly/ so. Sato Butcher Shop's== "Satake Special de Menchi/300 yen" or "The Satake King Menchi/350 yen"==Clearly delicious. I hope. There are no side dishes in Okazu Yokocho anymore. Residents' wishes/establishing uniqueness, differentiation from supermarkets, a town with fried food shops. Please continue...)/

Sato Butcher Shop is located on the left side after passing the midpoint of Satake Shopping Street, as you walk from Shin-Okachimachi Station. The shop has an old-fashioned feel of a Showa-era delicatessen. The shopping street itself may seem a bit quiet, giving the shop a somewhat dark impression, but the owner is actively working. In the right showcase, you can find pre-made side dishes, while the left showcase displays fresh meat. The Vegetable Croquette (80 yen including tax) seemed to have been made a while ago and was a bit cold, but the crust was crispy. Inside, there was a mix of vegetables, with the main flavor coming from the sweetness of the potatoes. It had a gentle taste with no salt or pepper, but it was well-flavored. There wasn't a strong meat flavor, but it was still tasty.

Walk through the second oldest historical Satake shopping street in Japan. The arcade is impressive, but it can be a bit lonely depending on the time of day. In the middle of the shopping street, there is a butcher shop that looks familiar. Upon searching their website, it seems to be the shop where Aoshima and Sumire were staking out in the drama "Odoru Daisousasen 4". In the show, it was a fried chicken shop that was making a profit even during the stakeout. In reality, it is Sato Butcher Shop. In real life, an old man is leisurely manning the shop. I couldn't find fried chicken, so I bought chicken cutlet for ¥150 and crab cream croquette for ¥90. I ate them at a nearby park. I wanted a beer, but I still have plans so I resisted. The crab cream croquette seems to be pre-made. Sorry if I'm wrong. The chicken cutlet is fried with juicy meat. Eating it without sauce is a bit bland. It's tasty because it's cooked well without becoming tough. Oh man, I really want some sauce and beer. Thank you for the meal. Hahaha.

Located about a 2-minute walk from A2 exit of Shino-Okachimachi Station on the Toei Oedo Line, there is a shop called "Sato Butcher" in Satake Shotengai. I visited for the first time on a morning in late January. On this day, I came to buy some side dishes here. As it was still early in the day, there weren't many products displayed in the showcase at the store. When I peeked inside, the owner was in the middle of frying croquettes. I purchased a "Ham Cutlet" (80 yen) and two "One-bite Cutlets" (100 yen each) on this day. When I got home, I immediately tried them out. Both had a crispy and light coating, but the meat had a rich flavor. The size was slightly compact, making it just right for a small snack. It was a delicious meal.

This is a butcher shop located in Satake Shotengai, which is promoted as the second oldest shopping street in Japan. The retro atmosphere is charming. It was past 5 pm on a Sunday, and I was delighted to find the shop open (most specialty shops in my neighborhood are closed on Sundays). We were planning to buy some side dishes to take home, so this time we opted for prepared foods instead of meat. Most of the items were sold out, but we managed to get "Squid Fry" (100 yen), "Vegetable Croquette" (80 yen), and "Potato Salad" (200 yen). The fried items were delicious even when cold! The squid fry was tender, the vegetable croquette had a nostalgic sweetness from the potatoes and mixed vegetables, and the potato salad was moist and sweet. I enjoyed them with a cold Asahi black beer, which I've been into lately. Thank you for the meal.

I had always admired the idea of buying a croquette from the butcher in the shopping street and eating it while standing, and I finally got to try it for the first time. I wandered around the Satake shopping street near Shin-Okachimachi Station, and bought a croquette from this shop located right in the middle. The small croquette was delicious with a crispy outside and soft inside. I wanted to go back for another one, but I resisted the temptation. I also found the scallop croquette intriguing.

"Odoru Daisousasen THE FINAL: A New Hope" In the movie, Aoshima and Sumire stake out at a popular karage (fried chicken) shop in the bustling Satake Shopping Street. In reality, the popular shop is Sato Butcher in Satake Shopping Street. They offer bite-sized potato fries for only ¥20 each, which is a great deal! The fries are cut into small, easy-to-eat pieces and are very delicious. They also have croquettes for ¥80, vegetable croquettes for ¥80, cheese-filled fish cake fry for ¥130, crab cream croquette for ¥80, and oyster fry for ¥90. We ordered a variety of dishes and the total came to ¥820. The pork cutlet and pork loin cutlet are also popular choices at this shop."

Dancing Great Investigation Line THE FINAL Filming Location Satake Shopping Street: A popular butcher shop where I bought a bite-sized portion of potato fries last time. They were easy to eat and delicious, so I wanted to buy them again. However, they were often sold out whenever I passed by. Today, I finally found them in stock, so I stopped by and purchased potato fries, vegetable stir-fried croquettes, and crab claws for a total of ¥420. They were all delicious and made a great snack for my evening drinks. I might try the miso-marinated pork next time.

In the TV drama "Dancing Detective", there was a popular fried chicken shop called Aoshima that appeared in the final episode. Aoshima and Sumire were staking out at the shop, which was bustling with customers. In reality, the location is Sato Butcher Shop. I was a little hungry, so I tried the bite-sized fries for ¥20. They are cut into an easy-to-eat size and are delicious. Other popular items include croquettes, crab claws, and pork cutlets.

I forgot to take a photo, but this is the shop that serves the most delicious fried food in the Asakusa-Ueno area. Sometimes they sell out in the evening, so it's a bit nerve-wracking when you can stop by on your way home. All the fried foods that are left are exquisite. Today, I got crab cream croquettes and minced cutlets to go. When I get home, I'll have them with rice and sauce. Even when they cool down, they are still crispy for some reason. The frying method really brings out the flavor of the ingredients. I'm glad this shop is nearby. There was a TV drama filming in the Ameyoko shopping street today, I heard. Come to think of it, this shop was a location for the drama Bayside Shakedown in the past, with Sumire-san and Aoshima-kun staking out. If you happen to pass by, be sure to try it.

I visited the restaurant a few times in the evening, but it was always sold out. However, today I was able to go in the late morning. It seemed to be right after opening, as freshly fried items were lined up in the back of the store. I got a takeout of fried horse mackerel for 100 yen and ham cutlet for 80 yen. They put them in a paper bag and handed them to me. It made me feel relieved. I hurried back home. The horse mackerel was crispy as expected, with a thick piece of fish inside. It was delicious. The ham cutlet was like a rare ham steak, and it had a strong ham flavor. It was also delicious. The combination with rice topped with raw egg was excellent, and it made me feel happy. Thank you for the meal.
