I ordered the same menu as lunch - fresh oysters, simmered kinmedai, and a set of bego sushi and local fish nigiri. Everything was delicious, especially the creamy oysters. The staff and master were friendly and provided warm service.

When I arrived at the restaurant, there was already a sign indicating that all reservations for the day were full. I had a reservation for 12 o'clock, so when I entered on time, a lovely wolf greeted me with a smile and showed me to my seat. After a short wait, the Ise-ebi (Japanese spiny lobster) tempura rice bowl arrived, which not only looked amazing but also tasted and felt incredibly satisfying. The Ise-ebi miso soup that came with it was also delicious, with a rich and flavorful broth. Since I was in Oshima, I also ordered a single piece of the famous Bekkou sushi (pictured is two servings), which was also undeniably delicious. It was a wonderful memory of my time in Oshima. Thank you for the meal.

I made a reservation and visited the restaurant during the Golden Week weekend. When I arrived at the restaurant, it was fully booked due to the reservation, so I ordered the Ise lobster tempura bowl, Ise lobster miso soup, local fish sushi, and bekko sushi. The Ise lobster tempura bowl and Ise lobster miso soup were amazing, with the Ise lobster being much bigger and fresher than what I had the day before at a ryokan. The miso soup had a rich flavor from the Ise lobster broth and miso, and I highly recommend trying it. The local fish sushi was also delicious, especially the squid which was very tender and recommended. The sushi menu was explained to us, so we could understand what we were eating. Every piece was fresh and tasty, including unique options like octopus and yellowtail. I ordered the bekko sushi twice, with different fish each time, and both were flavorful and enjoyable. I recommend renting a car to visit this restaurant, as it is located on the north side of the island and may be difficult to reach by bus. The parking lot is a short walk from the restaurant, so don't worry about the narrow road in front of the shop. Overall, it was a delicious and worthwhile dining experience, and I recommend visiting this restaurant when in Izu Oshima. Thank you for the meal!

This is a popular sushi restaurant in Namiukou. All the sushi is fresh and delicious, but the specialty "bekko nigiri" from Izu Oshima is especially tasty with a spicy kick! I bought bekko soy sauce with green chili peppers at a local supermarket on the way home, and now I enjoy bekko rice bowls at home. Reservations are a must!

There are few shops on the south side of Oshima, so it is a rare find. I arrived at Oshima around 10 am on a weekday and made a reservation, which was a good decision. I arrived at the restaurant around 12:30 pm, and there were customers coming in one after another, so I think it would have been difficult to eat without a reservation. I had the local fish sushi and the Oshima specialty "bekkou sushi," and they were both very delicious! However, it was a bit pricey.

Although it is not a reservation-only restaurant, it is difficult to visit this popular restaurant in Izu Oshima without making a reservation. While dishes like Ise-ebi tempura rice bowl and local fish sushi are popular, I decided to order the Tekkadon after watching a tuna special program just before going. When I opened the lid, I was captivated by the beautifully arranged tuna. The delicious taste, along with the pleasant customer service, made me understand why this place is so popular.

After snorkeling at Toshiki Swimming Area, I called to make a reservation but was told they were fully booked. They said they would contact me when a seat becomes available. Since I had some time, I visited the shell museum at Toshiki Swimming Area and then walked about 30 minutes to Namiuki Port. When I asked what time a seat might become available, they suggested I visit the restaurant directly. I ordered the "Local Fish Nigiri" for 1,750 yen and added two more pieces of "bekkou sushi." The local fish was fresh but still firm. I personally prefer it more aged. The bekkou sushi, on the other hand, was moist and delicious. I definitely preferred that.

Around 11:00 on Saturday, August 2022, I called and found out that they were fully booked for 12:00, so I made a reservation for 13:00. I arrived around 13:10 and smoothly entered the restaurant. I ordered the Ise-ebi (Japanese spiny lobster) tempura rice bowl for 3,400 yen. The impact of the Ise-ebi was amazing, with the meat packed tightly and full of flavor. When visiting this restaurant, the Ise-ebi tempura rice bowl is a must-try. I also ordered the local fish sushi for 2,050 yen. While I felt that the flavor was concentrated, I also noticed a slight lack of freshness. The staff provided explanations, but I couldn't remember them all, so I thought it would be helpful if they could write them down on paper for customers to remember.

If you want to try delicious local fish sushi in Oshima, this is the place to go! It is so popular and well-loved that it's recommended to make a reservation in advance. I ordered the local fish sushi and the Oshima specialty "bekkou" sushi. The local fish sushi had a generous amount of fish with a firm texture and a sweet flavor. It was very delicious! The bekko sushi had a unique spiciness that became addictive with each bite. Overall, it was very tasty! I would love to visit again!

Located at the Habu Port in Tokyo's Izu Oshima, the seafood izakaya "Minato Sushi" was near the guesthouse "Blue and Cider" where I stayed, so I made a reservation and went there. Overall, the food was delicious and paired well with sake. In particular, the Izu Islands specialty "bekkou sushi" was excellent! The Ise lobster tempura bowl is apparently famous, so I would like to try that next time.

The incredibly pleasant service and meal made the trip well worth it. I rode an electric bicycle from Motomachi to Habu Port, but the steep hills make it quite challenging, so I recommend going by rental car. The sushi at Minatozushi here is fresh and you can enjoy local fish. I ordered local fish sushi and miso soup, and separately a miso soup with plenty of Ise lobster (which was delicious). Then I had 3 pieces of bekkou sushi. Finally, I was delighted to receive 3 pieces of my favorite local fish sushi. I was very satisfied. I had bekkou sushi at a sushi restaurant in Motomachi before, but I think the bekkou sushi here is the best. I recommend it to those who like pickled tuna and the like.

I visited Izu Oshima for a day trip. It seemed like a popular restaurant, so I made a reservation before going. The chef and his wife were very friendly, and there were also locals dining there. I ordered the local sushi set with 9 pieces and 2 pieces of bekkou sushi. The fish was all delicious, and the bekkou sushi was also tasty. The fish bone soup served in a bowl was exceptionally delicious. The sushi rice was slightly soft, which may be a matter of personal preference. The person I went with had the Ise lobster tempura rice bowl and said it was delicious. If I have the chance to visit Izu Oshima again, I would definitely want to go back to this restaurant.

I stopped by a restaurant recommended by a senior colleague from Izu Oshima, my hometown. Izu Oshima is famous for its "bekkou sushi," but other local fish dishes are also delicious. The set meal is very satisfying and goes well with rice.

I went to a restaurant excited to try the Ise Ebi Tempura Donburi. I had tried to visit before without a reservation and couldn't get in because they were fully booked. The restaurant was always busy and seemed to have few other dining options nearby, so I recommend making a reservation. The interior had counter seats, table seats, and tatami seating. I hadn't eaten Ise Ebi much before, so I was curious about what it would be like. After waiting for about 10 minutes, the bowl arrived with a delicious smell of shrimp. The appearance was impressive, with large shrimp, and the impact of the Ise Ebi miso soup brought out later was also amazing! The shrimp seemed to be crawling in the soup, and the aroma was appetizing. I was hungry, so I eagerly bit into the shrimp tempura. The thick and fluffy shrimp was firm but tender, and I was excited to taste the Ise Ebi. It was delicious, as expected. Next, the miso soup had a rich broth that shrimp lovers would enjoy. There was still some edible part left in the shrimp shell, so I recommend picking it out to eat. The meal was quite filling, and my stomach was stuffed. If you're curious, I highly recommend trying it. Thank you for the meal.

On Friday afternoon, I was in the mood for some sushi, so I decided to visit "Minato Sushi" near a port in Oshima. It's a popular spot, so I made a reservation before going. Inside, it had a typical sushi restaurant atmosphere. I checked the menu and decided to order the "Local Fish Sushi" (1950 yen). I also ordered the Oshima specialty "Bekko Sushi" separately. After a short wait, the sushi arrived! It was fresh and delicious, with a variety of local fish to enjoy. The Bekko Sushi had a spicy kick to it, giving me a taste of Oshima. Next time, I would love to try the Bekko Sushi again without trying anything else.

I tried it for the first time. Ise-ebi tempura bowl for ¥2980. The thick shrimp with a sweet sauce and crispy coating is cooked to perfection. It's a luxurious dish to enjoy with the rice soaked in the sauce! Since the portion of rice is a bit large, if two women come, it might be good to order one and share. There are also unique fish dishes like nigiri sushi made with fish caught near Oshima, so be sure to check them out.

Over the weekend, I took a trip to Oshima and stayed at an inn near Namiita Port, so I decided to dine at Minato Sushi. The "Local Fish Sushi" set costs 1950 yen and includes 9 pieces of local fish sushi and miso soup. Each piece of sushi is served separately, allowing you to savor the different types of fish. The fresh fish and the unique atmosphere of Oshima made the meal delicious.

<Sushi Restaurant Review> <About the Restaurant> A sushi restaurant that reopened in 2010 after relocating and renovating. The current owner is Ryuya Nishikawa, the second generation. His father used to run a sushi restaurant under the name Nishikawa Sushi across the street, and he took over and opened this new location. - No parking available - Seating arrangement: Counter seats... around 4 seats, Table seats... around 4 tables for 4 people each, Tatami seats... number of seats unknown <Cuisine> - Local Fish Sushi... 1,750 yen (including tax) A plate of 9 pieces of local fish sushi with miso soup and pickled ginger. The presentation is interesting with a plate divided into three rows of three pieces each. The fish are individually introduced with their names when served. It includes a variety of fish, from common ones to less familiar ones. Personally, I found the sea bream to be the most delicious. A satisfying sushi experience with unique local fish. - Bekko Sushi... 1,750 yen (including tax) A plate of 9 pieces of Bekko sushi made with white fish marinated in chili soy sauce, a local dish from Oshima. Served with pickled ginger and miso soup. The dish is visually appealing with a glossy Bekko color. It has a mild flavor with no overwhelming spiciness. This was the most beautiful Bekko sushi I had during my stay in Oshima. A delightful and shareable dish. - Tekka Don... 1,750 yen (including tax) A boxed Tekka Don with miso soup. The tuna slices are about 1cm thick and there are around 7 pieces. The dish looks delicious and satisfying. - Natto Maki... 980 yen (including tax) A plate of 3 Natto Maki rolls, each cut into 4 pieces, totaling 12 pieces. The rolls are slightly thicker, using chopped natto instead of mashed natto. Despite some rice grains and natto sticking to the seaweed, the dish comes with miso soup and is a decent portion. Overall, a high level of satisfaction with the sushi experience at this restaurant.

Rating: Price 1 (1 very cheap -> 5 very expensive), Taste 4 (1 would not eat again -> 5 excellent), Service 3 (1 poor -> 5 excellent), Atmosphere 2 (1 casual/crowded -> 5 upscale/cozy), Cost performance 3 (1 not worth the price/portion small -> 5 worth it/portion satisfying) Visit: Unknown on Tabelog Located at the southern tip of Izu Oshima, about a 35-minute bus or car ride from Motohama Port, this is a sushi restaurant. I was given a ride by a local acquaintance, and although the visit was a few years ago, I will share my memories here. The restaurant is known for its sushi and seafood dishes made from seafood caught at the nearby fishing port. Originally, the owner's father operated a restaurant called "Nishikawa Sushi," but it has been taken over by the second generation and renamed "Minato Sushi" after relocating and renovating in 2010. I visited during the busy Bon Festival period, so I made a reservation in advance. - Bekkou Sushi (1,750 yen): A local dish from the Izu Islands, consisting of 9 pieces of sushi, miso soup, and pickled ginger. The white fish is marinated in green chili peppers and soy sauce, giving it a glossy amber color. It is a traditional island dish born from the wisdom of preserving raw fish deliciously in the warm island climate. The white fish varies daily, and the marinated fish has a sticky texture, with a sweet and salty taste followed by a refreshing spiciness of the green chili peppers. - Miso Soup with Spiny Lobster: Delicious miso soup with spiny lobster miso and broth. This was the highlight of my meal, as the spiny lobster shells contained plenty of meat, making it a luxurious treat. - Tempura of Asatsuyu Leaves: A specialty dish that was delicious. - Local Fish Sushi (1,750 yen): 9 pieces of sushi made with local fish, served with miso soup and pickled ginger. The unique presentation is impressive, and the staff will tell you the name of each fish, although they all look so similar that I quickly forget (laughs). It's not common to find a sushi restaurant that serves only local fish, so it's a unique experience when visiting a seaside town. Overall, it was a delightful experience and a good memory to have from my trip. Thank you for the meal. [Business Hours] 12:00-14:00 17:00-21:00 [Closed] Tuesdays

On a certain summer day, I wished to take my family somewhere far away. As I searched online, I discovered the unexplored island of Oshima, just a short distance from Chofu Airport. We had a quick one-night, two-day trip where we enjoyed the zoo, Mt. Mihara, and hot springs to the fullest. As a final treat, we had turtle shell sushi here. The white fish dipped in spicy soy sauce was perfect for the hot summer weather and truly delicious. I immediately bought some soy sauce to take home as a souvenir. It was a island that made me want to come back again.
