#Location and Restaurant A Chinese restaurant located just a 1-minute walk from Honjo-Azumabashi Station! It is on the 3rd floor of a building, so it's recommended to check the map if it's your first visit! Locally known as "shokuka"! Visited based on its reputation for delicious food around the tourist spot of Asakusa! A hidden gem popular for the skills of a famous chef from Dalian! #Menu - Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork - Mapo Tofu - Xiao Long Bao - Shrimp in Chili Sauce - Seafood Fried Rice - Stir-Fried Pea Shoots The Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork is served with a steamed bun for dipping! It features thick slices of pork and large pieces of Chinese yam. The sweet aroma of black vinegar hits your nose even before eating! The pork is tender, juicy, and incredibly delicious! The Xiao Long Bao also oozes with broth from inside! Every dish was well-crafted and tasty, but the Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork was truly outstanding! A must-order! #Additional Information - The restaurant gives off a vibe of being popular among business people. Lunch on weekdays can get quite crowded with salarymen! However, the stylish interior makes it suitable for families, friends, or company gatherings! - They also offer a lunch menu, with the Tan Tan Men being another popular choice! - When considering the Asakusa area as a tourist destination, the restaurant offers good value for money! - A place worth visiting regularly, thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited this restaurant with my wife on a regular night. We were impressed by the taste, service, and price when we had lunch here before, so we wanted to try dinner this time. We started with a draft beer, which came with a set of two dishes for only 1,000 yen! We chose the green onion char siu and the braised pork belly. The green onion char siu was warm char siu with a sweet sauce and green onions on top. The braised pork belly was tender and had a subtle eight-spice aroma, with a taste reminiscent of Japanese-style Chinese cuisine. We also ordered the recommended dishes: beef with Sichuan pepper and chili, and seafood with XO sauce. The beef dish was cooked with glass noodles, wood ear mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, cabbage, and beef, with a moderate level of spiciness from the chili and a pleasant fragrance of Sichuan pepper. The seafood with XO sauce included shrimp, squid, scallops, wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, lotus root, and several vegetables, all cooked in a delicious XO sauce. The quality of these dishes for less than 1,000 yen is unbelievable! We were already getting full, but we couldn't resist ordering the yakisoba, which was made with thick noodles and had a perfect amount of char. The yakisoba was cooked with pork, cabbage, garlic chives, bean sprouts, carrots, and a sauce based on oyster sauce. The interior of the restaurant was clean and elegant, standing out from typical cheap Chinese restaurants. The service was also exceptional, with a genuine and thoughtful touch that is rare in this price range. Most items on the menu are priced at 1,000 yen or less, with draft beer costing less than 500 yen - truly outstanding value for money. It's no wonder this place is so popular. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Today's lunch was in the mood for Chinese food. I went to a restaurant near Honjo-Azumabashi Station that I had been curious about. The staff was very friendly. My first impression was that it was easy for a woman to visit alone. There were many menu items that caught my eye, but I went for the standard set of ramen and half fried rice (lol). The ramen was a slightly thick and flavorful type, with crunchy bean sprouts as an accent. The fried rice arrived next. Since the ramen was on the rich side, the fried rice was a bit more subtle. It was well balanced. I finished both the ramen and the soup. The atmosphere was pleasant and I felt like visiting again.

◆Azumabashi Shokuya (Mapo Tofu Lunch)◆I had some errands around Asakusa and Azumabashi. It was a sunny day, and after finishing my work, I felt hungry (it was lunchtime). I decided to explore around Azumabashi and ended up at a restaurant called Shokuya, which serves Chinese cuisine. I took the elevator to the 3rd floor of a building to enter. The interior was surprisingly bright and clean. I ordered the Mapo Tofu for ¥790. It was quite delicious! I didn't have high expectations when I entered, but it turned out to be the right choice. The staff were friendly, and you can even smoke on the balcony while enjoying the view of the Skytree. It was a smoker-friendly restaurant that brought tears of joy to my eyes.

I visited a popular restaurant for a late lunch with my childhood friend after a long time. We had made a reservation for 1 pm on Sunday, but I arrived about 5 minutes early and waited for my friend. The restaurant was always busy with customers coming and going, and it seemed to be a popular place on the 3rd floor of the building. The food, although seemingly catered towards non-Japanese customers, was delicious and had no strong flavors. I particularly enjoyed the "Shrimp Chili Tamago" and the "Black Vinegar Sweet and Sour Pork." The latter was especially impressive, with its black appearance, large chunks of vegetables like yam, and huge pieces of pork served with a knife. Everything was very delicious! Thank you for the wonderful meal today! \(^o^)/

Despite being located very close to Honjo-azumabashi Station, this Chinese restaurant is not very noticeable as it is on the 3rd floor of a building. I had assumed it was a run-down local Chinese restaurant, but was pleasantly surprised by the modern interior! When I arrived around noon on a weekday, there were only two other groups of customers, but after 12 o'clock, local businessmen (mostly regulars?) began flooding in. It was packed. By 12:15, there were people waiting outside. It's quite popular! I ordered the shrimp and egg chili dish (850 yen including tax). The shrimp was large and chewy, with just the right amount of acidity and spiciness from the tomatoes. It was delicious! The dish was served on a modern plate, with a lemon in the water, and came with a glass noodle cucumber salad, soup, and almond jelly for this price, I was very satisfied. I will definitely be back! Once the state of emergency is lifted, I look forward to going in the evening. I can't wait to try the set with two side dishes and a draft beer for 1,000 yen. It is located along Asakusa Street, just a 1-minute walk from Honjo-azumabashi Station A1 exit. It's around the corner from my all-time favorite yakiniku restaurant, Daito En. (Summer 2020. A whole year has passed...)

I used it for lunch. The seats were more than half full, giving a sense of popularity. Also, as a measure against COVID-19, there was alcohol spray placed on each table, which left a good impression. I wanted to eat fried rice, so I visited the restaurant and they happened to have pickled vegetable fried rice for today's lunch, so I had that. And it was only 600 yen! It was cheap. The pickled vegetable flavor was not too strong, and the fried rice was delicious. It also came with a small almond jelly dessert, making it a very good value lunch. I have been here before and tried the black vinegar sweet and sour pork, which was also very delicious, so I recommend it. I would like to visit again.

When in doubt, I come here for lunch. It's still crowded as usual during lunchtime. There were only seats near the entrance where people were coming and going, but as a walk-in customer, there was no other choice. The customer service, which can sometimes be careless, was thoughtful thanks to the lady. Considering the current season, the door was left open, so she kindly asked if I was cold. The five-ingredient ankake soba is consistently delicious.

During regular lunch hours, the restaurant was almost full. The counter was filled with cleared dishes, and the sole waitress was handling everything in an impressive manner. She politely said, "I will clean up right away, please wait a moment," and shortly after, she guided me to a table in the back. On the table, there was a bottle of disinfectant spray. I ordered the soy sauce ramen and half-fried rice set for 790 yen. Even though most tables were still waiting for their food, the Chinese restaurant was quick! In less than 5 minutes, they served my order, saying, "Sorry for the wait." The ramen and fried rice were quite lightly seasoned, but delicious. They also served osinko and almond jelly for dessert. It was a very cost-effective lunch. Despite the pandemic and reduced operating hours, the restaurant was thriving during lunchtime. There must be some specific reasons for its success.

On the last day of the consecutive holidays, I had a strong craving for ramen. Upon entering this place on the third floor of Peak Building, a chime sounded to announce my arrival. It was past 1 pm and there were already a few customers - a group of 6, a group of 4, and a solo diner. I had to wait a bit for a table as they were still clearing up. The staff wiped down the dishes, sprayed alcohol, and it was satisfying to watch. I finally decided on the Vegetable Tanmen for 790 yen from the lunch menu. The dish arrived in a white bowl that I found quite appealing. The staff offered me a paper apron, which was a nice touch. The Chinese customer sitting next to me seemed to be enjoying his meal even before he started eating. The noodles were slightly thin and curly, and the soup was light yet flavorful with plenty of vegetables and meat. I finished it in no time and even enjoyed the almond jelly dessert. The elderly locals dining there seemed like regulars, as they all said "We will be back" when paying. It's the kind of place that makes you want to visit again. Even I was greeted with a "Long time no see" at the checkout, which made me decide to come back again.

As I was walking along Asakusa Street, I found a takeout sign! And everything was only 500 yen, cheaper than eating in the restaurant. I went up to the third floor, ordered the "Stir-fried Pork with Green Peppers Bento for 500 yen." Normally, you have to order by phone in advance, but they kindly accepted my order as a regular customer. Everything here is delicious, but unfortunately, they are closed on weekends. The delicious taste I always enjoy was still there even when eating at home. Thank you for the meal.

On my quest for a Saturday lunch spot, I found that the first three places I tried were fully booked or closed, so I ended up at my regular go-to spot. Today, I noticed a dish on the menu that is rarely available - "Spicy Sichuan Beef for 790 yen". At first glance, it looked like a stir-fry of beef and vegetables, but when I took a bite, the spicy and numbing sensation was incredibly delicious. It had the same seasoning as mapo tofu. The ingredients included beef, bell peppers, carrots, onions, baby corn, and bamboo shoots. Just like their mapo tofu, the coarse ground spices, crunchy Sichuan peppercorns, and chili peppers added a fantastic flavor and texture. If I had to nitpick, I think using a more tender cut of beef would make it even more delicious. Once again, I enjoyed a unique dish that satisfied my taste buds. Thank you for the meal.

• Gomoku fried rice for 690 yen (lunch menu at Shokka restaurant) • 3 pieces of grilled dumplings for 100 yen Located in Sumida Ward, Azumabashi, this Chinese cuisine specialty restaurant called "Shokka" is just a 1-minute walk from Honjo-Azumabashi Station. I recently visited Shokka and ordered the Gomoku fried rice from their lunch menu. The Gomoku fried rice was stir-fried perfectly, with ingredients such as roast pork, egg, green peas, corn, and green onions, all seasoned exquisitely. It was very delicious! The Gomoku fried rice came with Chinese soup, pickles, and almond jelly as a set. The grilled dumplings had a slightly thick skin but a chewy texture, and the filling was juicy and tasty. I also tried a bit of the sweet and sour pork with black vinegar, which was tender and delicious, making me want to try more items from their menu!

Today I came to try the "daily lunch special for 600 yen" available only on weekdays. They also serve lunch on Saturdays, but they don't have the daily special. Today's special was "pork minced meat and vegetable fried rice". I also ordered the "dumplings for 100 yen" as an extra. Three dumplings for 100 yen is a good deal for lunch. The fried rice was served quickly and it was delicious with a nice saltiness. I wonder what seasoning they used for the fried rice and minced pork. The dumplings were also very tasty, with plenty of juicy meat inside. They are a great addition to the lunch set. The menu says it's Chinese cuisine, and it seems like there is a lot to explore in their dishes. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Last week, I had the "Yu Xiang Rou Si" and it was delicious, so I decided to go for Saturday lunch two weeks in a row. Today, I had my eye on the "Ma La Niu Rou" but unfortunately, it was no longer on the lunch menu. The dish I had last week was also not available. Therefore, I ordered the classic Chinese dish, "Mapo Tofu set meal for 690 yen". It was served quickly. The Mapo Tofu had a hint of sweetness and the aroma of Sichuan pepper on top. Mixing it all together and taking a bite, the Sichuan pepper flavor was refreshing and delicious. Personally, I prefer spicier food, so I'll ask for it next time. It was only my second visit, but the staff already recognized me, making me feel like a regular customer as I left the restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

I was always curious about the menu under the building on the road I always pass by, but since it was on the 3rd floor, I always walked past it. When I finally took a closer look at the menu, I was drawn to a dish called "Yu Xiang Rou Si" that I had never seen before. It was around lunchtime, so I decided to visit. I was the first customer. I ordered the "Yu Xiang Rou Si" for 690 yen and it was served promptly. The dish looked similar to "Qing Jiao Rou Si" but with a slight difference. When I took a bite, it tasted like the sour and spicy Qing Jiao Rou Si. It's a flavor that most people can imagine, and it might be perfect for the hot summer. It's a dish from Dalian cuisine. There was also a dish called "Ma La Niu Rou" on the menu, which I have never seen before, so I would like to try it next time. Thank you for the meal.

After pondering over the menu for dinner, I decided to go for the "authentic" option, but seeking it in a foreign land was like digging a grave for oneself. Although I am familiar with "Cantonese cuisine" and "Sichuan cuisine," I found "Northeastern Chinese cuisine" to be quite a formidable opponent. "Shanghainese cuisine," on the other hand, did not appeal to me at all. In the end, I ordered "Stir-Fried Garlic Chives with Pig Liver" and "Shrimp and Dried Cheese Spring Rolls," along with a side of "Sao Chou Broom," all for a total of 1858 yen. Comparing it to the "Stir-Fried Garlic Chives with Pig Liver" from the other place, there was a hidden intention behind my choice. The dish here is a typical Chinese dish, with the unique feature of frying pig liver in oil. The handling of the shrimp in the "Shrimp and Dried Cheese Spring Rolls" is noteworthy. The pig liver here is smoked, and the shrimp is fresh, unlike in other cuisines where it is rare to eat it raw. The shrimp in the dish here was quite good, thanks to the combination of "batter" and "deep-frying." However, the "Shrimp and Dried Cheese Spring Rolls" here lacked the freshness of the shrimp and was overly salty. On the other hand, the "Seafood Korean Pancakes" here, with shrimp, was quite good. The "Stir-Fried Garlic Chives with Pig Liver" here included not only pig liver but also garlic chives, shredded bamboo shoots, shredded carrots, and shredded red peppers. The knife skills were truly impressive! However, the pig liver alone was better in the "Fried Pig Liver" from the other place. Truly, Chinese cuisine in this area is amazing! As for the "Shrimp and Dried Cheese Spring Rolls," the shrimp inside lacked freshness and only the saltiness remained in the mouth. The shrimp in the dish from the other place was better.

I went late at night, and the staff was very kind! Since I was the last customer, they gave me almond jelly as a service, which I really appreciated! The atmosphere inside the restaurant is not what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant, it is very calm and beautiful! The food was delicious too! I would like to try their lunch menu next time!

I heard rumors about a chef who used to work at a restaurant in Dalian. The restaurant is known for its unique interior design and offers a Japanese-style Chinese menu. I decided to try their lunch set menu which included sweet and sour pork, rice, soup, dessert, and chopsticks. The sweet and sour pork was delicious, with a perfect balance of vinegar and sweetness. The chef's skill was evident in the dish. Overall, the experience was enjoyable and I would recommend trying the restaurant's lunch set menu.

At night, at the request of my wife, we came here. I was surprised by the generous portion of Sichuan-style braised beef, but the addictive spiciness made me finish it in no time. The addition of glass noodles was nice. For dessert, I chose the tantanmen, which had the perfect firmness of noodles and I couldn't help but finish all the soup as well.
