I visited the restaurant around 1 pm on Sunday. There were about 4 groups waiting in line ahead of me. I ordered two Monja and one Yakisoba for three people. Everything was delicious. There was a table with a description that one Monja is enough for two people, but ordering one dish per person was just right for us.

First visit. Arrived at 12 o'clock and waited outside for about 30 minutes before entering. Ordered the Daruma Set (1,903 yen x 2). Upgraded the drink to a medium-sized glass for an additional 275 yen. The set came with "Mentaiko Monja" followed by "Daruma Ten". I thought the Mentaiko Monja had less mentaiko than shown in the picture, but it was actually a sufficient amount and delicious. The Daruma Ten, which was seasoned by a server with a young leaf mark, had too much sauce and mayo, making it too salty.

Asakusa Monja-yaki "Daruma" offers a dish called "Premium Mochi Mentaiko Cheese Monja". I ordered it and had the staff cook it for me. They skillfully and rhythmically cooked it until the end, where they shaved cheese on top to finish it. The combination of mentaiko and three types of cheese really enhanced the flavor. It was delicious! The mochi was also tasty. It truly lived up to its premium name. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to eat Monja in Tsukishima, so I decided to visit this restaurant because the exterior looked nice and the staff seemed friendly. It was convenient that they open from 11 am. Since it was a weekday, the restaurant was empty. When I asked for recommendations, I was suggested to try the Daruma Special or the Mentaiko Mochi Cheese, and I chose the latter. They prepared it quickly, and even though I thought the Mentaiko Cheese might be salty, it turned out to be a lightly flavored Monja with a good dashi base, which I liked. It was cooked perfectly, starting off soft and ending with crispy bits, just as it should be. It was delicious, but I felt like I could achieve a similar taste by making it at home, so I gave it 3 stars.

Visited on April 3, 2023. Ordered grilled squid with ink, monjayaki with mentaiko and cheese, and mochi cheese tempura. Also had about three drinks - beer, highball for a toast. The staff's behavior was not great, but the food was decent. There weren't many foreign tourists.

Monja Daruma in Tsukishima is a famous dish. The shop near Asakusa's Nakamise is packed on weekends with people ordering monja. The shop isn't very big, but the staff efficiently cook the monja for you. I ordered the famous "Skytree Monja" and it came with a big shrimp that really stood out. The monja was quickly cooked while cutting the cabbage with a spatula. You can eat the shrimp with its shell once it turns red. The monja also had soba noodles in it, making it a great dish to share for two people. However, eating Tsukishima monja in Asakusa is still quite expensive compared to the cheap monja in the downtown area. I'm used to the cheap monja, so the price of the seafood monja surprised me as a regular person.笑.

I came to have lunch at Monja Daruma, located just off Nakamise Street in Tsukishima. I tried looking for monjayaki in Asakusa, but every place was packed despite it being a weekday afternoon. I had to wait about 15 minutes after writing my name at Daruma. It seems to be a popular monjayaki place in Tsukishima. I ordered the Skytree Monja and Okonomiyaki at Daruma Ten. The Skytree Monja had lots of seafood, with big shrimp on top. It had been a while since I last had monjayaki, and it was delicious. The staff took care of everything, so it was very easy. The okonomiyaki was quite soft and fluffy, different from what I've had before. I had it with beer and ended up feeling quite full. Asakusa was bustling with young people in kimonos and foreigners, making it lively. Thank you for the meal!

After strolling around Asakusa, I found myself hungry and headed to this popular Monja restaurant in Tsukishima! The atmosphere inside is bright and welcoming, with cute Asakusa-themed illustrations on the walls. I was hungry, so I ordered: - Apricot juice - Assorted mushrooms - Assorted seafood - The popular Tsukishima Bomb - Premium mochi mentaiko cheese Each dish was cooked by the staff, and the ingredients were fresh. The mushrooms and seafood were delicious with just salt. The Monja had three types of cheese and extra cheese on top - I wasn't sure if I could finish it all, but I did! The okonomiyaki was fluffy and disappeared quickly. The apricot juice wasn't too sweet and had bits of apricot pulp, which seemed healthy. The Monja broth is made fresh daily in the restaurant, and the cabbage is cut in-house. The seafood and vegetables are carefully selected from Tsukiji Market. It's no wonder everything tasted so good! The location attracts many foreign customers, and even on a weekday afternoon, it was bustling!

Based on a friend's recommendation, we went to Monja Daruma Asakusa, a famous dish in Tsukishima. My friend had apricot juice, and I had a grapefruit sour for a toast! The staff kindly cooked at each table, serving a variety of mushrooms and vegetables on an iron plate. Healthy and perfect for dieting! The seafood platter was fresh, sourced directly from Tsukiji Market. We selected the premium mochi mentaiko cheese monja from the photos, which was rich and delicious. The way they cooked the monja was meticulous. The okonomiyaki was very popular, especially the Tsukishima Bakudan-yaki, which was hearty. The dashi used in the monja is homemade, simmered daily in the store. The cabbage used in the monja is hand-cut in the store to bring out its sweetness. They focus on a gentle dashi flavor that doesn't overpower the taste of the ingredients. For dessert, we had the anko roll cheese, which was a big hit. The atmosphere was lively and the food was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I visited a popular Monjayaki restaurant that I had been wanting to try. It is located in the Nakamise shopping street, right near Asakusa Station. This is the fifth branch, with the main branch in Tsukishima. The interior of the restaurant was cute and clean, and it was quite crowded. You can store your belongings under the chairs. First, we started with a toast with beer - Draft Beer 660 yen and Edamame 380 yen. The serving size was generous and reasonably priced. Once we started eating, we couldn't stop. We also had the Crispy Caesar Salad for 680 yen, which was delicious with crispy noodles and salad. The Seafood Assortment for 2,189 yen was made with carefully selected seafood and vegetables from Tsukiji Market, and the fresh seafood was delightful. The staff cooked it carefully and seasoned it with butter soy sauce. The Angel Shrimp was particularly delicious, and I highly recommend it. We also tried the Japanese Gin with freshly squeezed lemon for 630 yen, which was refreshing and easy to drink. The restaurant has a wide variety of alcohol, so it's a great place for alcohol lovers. Finally, we ordered the Gomoku Monjayaki for 1,485 yen, which was filled with octopus, squid, shrimp, scallops, pork, soba noodles, and pickled ginger. The staff cooked it for us, and the Monjayaki broth is homemade and simmered daily. The cabbage used is hand-cut in the store, and its sweetness really stands out. We added some seaweed on top, and it was a delicious and satisfying meal. I realized that Monjayaki is quite deep and I would like to try the mentaiko version next time. I also want to visit other branches of this restaurant.

After seeing a national treasure exhibition in Ueno, I headed to Asakusa. Feeling a bit hungry, I decided to try some "monjayaki" and went to "Daruma" on Nishi-Nakadori Shotengai from Nakamise Street. The restaurant had just opened in September and it was very clean and beautiful. The wall illustrations were cute. There were small storage compartments in the chairs to keep personal items and prevent clothes from getting smelly. Despite it being only 4 pm, the place was almost full, with many foreigners adding to the lively atmosphere. I started with a Caesar salad and edamame, along with a cold beer. The combination of Caesar dressing and crispy noodles was excellent. The seafood grill included squid, scallops, and vegetables, all cooked perfectly by the friendly staff. The freshness of the ingredients from Toyosu and the refreshing seasoning made it delicious! Finally, I tried the main dish, "gomoku" monjayaki, which had various ingredients. The staff cooked it for me, starting by grilling cabbage and finely chopping the ingredients. They poured the homemade broth in the center of the ingredients, creating a delicious mix. The broth had a deep and rich flavor that added to the dish. I couldn't resist offering a taste to the foreigner next to me, who responded with a smile and "OISHIDESU." Lastly, I enjoyed a generous serving of "kinako black sugar ice cream" to cleanse my palate. Monjayaki is a traditional Japanese food culture that I want to cherish. The restaurant is a great place for lunch, dinner, or even as a dessert alternative, and I would recommend it to foreigners as well. Asakusa Temple in the evening was bustling with tourists from overseas, slowly regaining its pre-COVID liveliness. It was a great experience!

This is a shop located near Asakusa Station, right by the Kaminarimon gate. The interior walls are super cute! There are storage spaces under the seats, all set and ready! First, gotta eat some vegetables! Ordered the "Back Alley Salad" - it had Baby Star noodles on top, nice and crispy! And then, onto the Monjayaki! Ordered the "Premium Mochi Mentaiko Cheese" - the staff made it right in front of us. The smell was irresistible as it cooked! Then, the staff brought over some cheese to sprinkle on top, just like pasta - extra cheese! So much cheese, so happy! It had been a while since I had Monjayaki, and it was the best! And since we were there, we also got Okonomiyaki. "Popular item! Tsukishima Bakudan-yaki" - had to try it since it was so popular! The staff cooked it for us too. The presentation was beautiful! The aroma and appearance made me happy even before tasting it! It was loaded with ingredients. Both the Monjayaki and Okonomiyaki had mochi inside, so I was full in no time. Considering this, the cost performance was really good. They cook it for you, so all I had to do was eat! Lastly, we had the Anko Matcha Roll with ice cream, which was chewy and delicious. If I had more room in my stomach, I would have wanted another one... The staff cooked this for us too. It's perfect for spending time chatting with friends while enjoying the food being freshly cooked right in front of you.

Asakusa station, go straight on the side street next to Kaminarimon gate, then turn right and you'll find a cute little shop. It doesn't look like a typical okonomiyaki place. I arrived at 4 pm and the place was almost full. The seats have plenty of space underneath for bags, which is convenient. While waiting, I enjoyed the "Back Alley Salad" with a crispy texture. First, I tried the monjayaki. I ordered the "Premium Mochi Mentaiko Cheese" and the staff made it for me. It was filled with ingredients, so be careful not to spill any. The staff skillfully made it look delicious and topped it off with extra cheese. It was so tasty with plenty of cheese. It had been a while since I had monjayaki, and it was amazing! I also tried the okonomiyaki. The "Popular! Tsukishima Bomb Okonomiyaki" was eye-catching. The staff cooked it for me, and it was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Every bite had seafood and other ingredients. I had never tried an okonomiyaki with so many ingredients, so it was very satisfying and delicious. The seafood was in good-sized portions. I was already full, but I couldn't resist trying the dessert. I was curious about the "Anko Matcha Roll with Topping Ice Cream" as I had never tried it before. The staff cooked it in front of me, stretching the dough like a crepe and adding anko before rolling it up. The dough was incredibly chewy. The combination of warm and cold with the ice cream was perfect. When the staff brought over the black syrup, it was even better. I definitely recommend this place where the staff cooks in front of you. They were busy but provided attentive service. It was popular among students too. It's a great place for a snack or a hearty meal in Asakusa. I want to try the other monjayaki dishes next time. Delicious meal, thank you!

When I visited Asakusa with my friend, we went to Monja Daruma Asakusa, located in a great location near Sensoji Temple, just off the street parallel to Nakamise. The bright and poppy interior is decorated with cute drawings on the walls. The chairs at the box seats also serve as storage for your belongings, which is necessary as the smell can stick to them. We started with Maker's Highball for a toast, which was crisp and delicious with strong carbonation. We continued with Maker's Highball throughout the night. We ordered the popular Alley Salad, a salad with plenty of lettuce topped with Baby Star Ramen and corn, perfect for both adults and kids. It felt like you could eat it endlessly. The Asparagus Butter Yaki was a hit with its crunchy and juicy asparagus and bean sprouts. Perfect for snacking. We also tried the Skytree Monja, a seafood-rich monja dish with angel shrimp, shrimp, octopus, squid, scallops, clams, and tuna. It was luxurious and delicious, and the staff cooked it for us since many foreign visitors are not familiar with monjayaki. We also had the Buta Tamago, a fluffy and delicious dish with plenty of yamaimo. It melted in our mouths and was very tasty. We skipped the soba in the Buta Soba Ten and just had the delicious pork. For dessert, we enjoyed the Matcha Anko Maki, a green tea and red bean roll topped with vanilla ice cream and black honey. It was a perfect ending to a delicious meal. The Asakusa branch, which opened in September, is a hidden gem with no long waits like the Soramachi branch. I look forward to visiting again when I crave delicious monjayaki and okonomiyaki.

Located one street west of Asakusa Nakamise Street, near the sweet shop Umeen, is the newly opened "Tsukishima Monja Daruma Asakusa Store." The new interior of the store is cute with wall art, creating a bright atmosphere that even young people can easily enter. The box seats are convenient to use, with storage space under the chairs (be sure to store your coat or bag inside to avoid any odors). Enjoying the "Back Alley Salad" and "Asparagus Butter Grilled" with Baby Star and corn as accents, while sipping on a refreshing "Maker's Mark Highball." The strong carbonation of the drink really hits the spot! The recommended monja dish is the "Skytree Monja," which is loaded with ingredients like angel shrimp, raw shrimp, octopus, squid, scallops, clams, and tuna. The height of the dish truly resembles the Skytree. The staff quickly cooks the ingredients on the hot plate, creating a delicious monja dish. You can also try making it yourself if you prefer. The flavor is light and savory, allowing you to adjust it to your liking. I personally like to make it crispy like senbei. For okonomiyaki, I recommend the "Buta-Tama" (pork and egg). The fluffy batter with yam is expertly cooked, and the generous amount of mayonnaise at the end is a nice touch. It looks beautiful, and I couldn't resist taking a video of the finishing touch. Despite wanting to try another monja dish, I was already quite full. So, I decided to end with dessert. I chose the "Matcha Anko Roll" that I had my eye on from the beginning. The matcha flavor is prominent in both the dough and the finish, creating a perfect balance. Adding vanilla ice cream and black honey on top made it a perfect ending. Sharing the anko roll and ice cream between two people was just right to finish the meal. Thank you for the delicious meal. The "Tsukishima Monja Daruma Asakusa Store," which opened in September, is a popular monja restaurant with three locations on Tsukishima Monja Street and one in Skytree Town. The Skytree store often has a waiting time of over an hour! The new "Asakusa Store" is still a hidden gem, so it's a good idea to visit without a reservation.

This was my first time trying Monja. It's like a messy okonomiyaki, right? It's easy to eat as a snack and quite delicious. The Monja with mentaiko, mochi, and cheese was especially tasty! 😊

Recently, with the calming down of the coronavirus situation and the lifting of inbound restrictions, Asakusa is crowded everywhere. Even this place, which used to have relatively few people, ended up with a wait of over 30 minutes. The taste and atmosphere are just average, but it's nice that the staff cook for you.
