Under the elevated railway between Gotanda and Osaki-Hirokoji, there is a dining street called Gotanda Sakura Koji. They serve lunch until around 2pm. This time, I wanted to eat some meat so I decided to try "Tokyo Chicken". At the entrance of Sakura Koji, there are signs for the lunch menus of "Tokyo Shokudo" and "Tokyo Chicken". I ordered the lunch set "Chicken Steak and Beef Kalbi Yaki". It took a bit of time for the food to come out, but the portion was quite generous. The plate was filled with meat just like in the menu photo. The seasoning was a bit strong, but it was delicious. When I passed by the stall at night, the inside was bustling with office ladies and couples. I would like to try going at night next time. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I visited Tokyo Shokudo in Gotanda, which seems to be a sister store to Tokyo Chicken. The chicken steak was voluminous and tender, with a thick cut. The taste of the Japanese-style sauce was a bit strong for my liking, but that's just personal preference. For 800 yen, you get the chicken steak with Jawa tea, soup, and rice, which I think is a good deal at Tokyo. My only complaint was about the rice. It seemed a bit old or maybe an issue with how it was cooked, or perhaps the quality of the rice itself. It would be nice if they put more effort into the white rice. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Had lunch at Sakurakoji Dining Street. I had the chicken steak for 800 yen. You can get a free extra large portion of rice, which is nice and filling. You can choose from four toppings for the chicken steak (grated green onions, fried egg, cheese, tartar sauce), so I went with grated green onions. There is also curry available. The pasta side dish is a nice touch. The portion size is generous and looks appetizing. But when I took a bite, the chicken was tough... The sauce is their "special" original sauce, but it was too salty and not to my liking. Unfortunately, the grated green onions couldn't even balance out the strong sauce. This place seems to specialize in chicken dishes, but the chicken itself wasn't to my taste. Disappointing.

On Tuesday afternoon, feeling like having chicken, I decided to visit "Tokyo Chicken," a recently opened restaurant in Gotanda Sakura Street. It seems like a second branch of "Tokyo Shokudo" also located in Gotanda Sakura Street. With a group of 5 people, it was challenging to find seats inside, so we sat at the outdoor table right in front of the shared restroom. The menu offers various toppings to choose from, and after some consideration, I ordered the "Chicken Steak Lunch with Special Steak Sauce" (800 yen) with a sunny-side-up topping. Along with the order, we received a set of soup, salad, and Jawa tea. The soup tasted similar to the one at the other restaurant, which 2号さん noticed. Finally, the awaited dish arrived, and I dug into it right away. The taste was delicious. The only downside was that the drink options were limited to Jawa tea only, similar to the first branch. It would be great if they could introduce a system like 1号さん.

Exploring lunch in Gotanda~~ A restaurant located in Sakura Street in Gotanda. The chicken on the teppan seems to be their specialty. I chose the Special Lunch with chicken and white fish fry. The sauce on the chicken is quite salty, but not overly sweet, which is good. The white fish fry and tartar sauce were delicious. I wonder if the tartar sauce is homemade? It's tasty. It may be high in calories, but the chicken steak with tartar sauce might be delicious. The rice portion looks small at first, making it easy to eat. They provide wet towels and the atmosphere is very welcoming and comfortable. It's nice that they serve Jawa tea with lunch.

The company's farewell party was held at a new bar that opened in February on Sakurakoji Street, and it seems quite nice and the food looks delicious (next to Miya Tako). I was happy to see that Jawa Tea Sour was included in the all-you-can-drink menu. The appetizer potato salad was delicious, and it came with plenty of tartar sauce, which was highly rated. The chicken salad with balsamic dressing was nice - the chicken was tender and tasty. The Ahi Ago was like dipping bread in marzipan, and it was also good. The potato fries were dangerously delicious, and the fried sausages that came with them were a perfect match. The fried chicken with tomato sauce was delicious, but it felt heavy after eating too much. The food was good, but I made a mistake in pacing myself with the heavy menu in the second half. Today I came to Gotanda for work. I have a meeting in the afternoon, so first things first, I need to grab some lunch. I searched for restaurants near the station and found a place on Sakura Street that serves chicken steak. I felt like having some hearty chicken today, so I decided to have lunch at that restaurant. The interior of the restaurant has a stylish vibe with brick-like walls. It doesn't seem to attract a lot of female customers though. Now, the dish I ordered from the lunch menu is as follows: - Chicken steak with sunny-side-up egg - 800 yen During lunchtime, you can get extra rice for free. The set also comes with soup, salad, and Jawa tea. The main dish, chicken steak, was served on a hot plate. The chicken meat weighs 250g, and it looks quite substantial. It comes with a special steak sauce, and the sunny-side-up egg on top is half-cooked. Chopped green onions are sprinkled over it. The chicken steak is thick and has a good texture. It's not too tough, just right. The steak sauce is slightly salty, but it goes well with the rice. The juiciness of the chicken steak complements the flavor of the sunny-side-up egg nicely. The soup is nothing special, but the Jawa tea is quite unique. The salad is refreshing, which is a good match after eating the meat. Considering the portion size and price of the lunch set, the cost performance is not bad. The balance between price and content is good. It's a recommended place when you want to have chicken steak at a reasonable price.

This place is the second branch of a Tokyo sake bar, and if the main branch is full, you can just come here. The menu is brought to you upon request, and I really liked this place. The fact that they only have wines from countries other than France and Italy is just right for me. The selection of wine bottles they offer is quite extensive for a bar menu. I think they only have about one bottle of wine from the same country on the menu. It's that diverse. The glass wine selection is reasonably priced, with five types each of red and white. If you enjoy exploring unique wines from unfamiliar countries, this is the place to go. Even if you're not into that, you can trust them with wines from Argentina, Chile, California, and South Africa. For food, I ordered the bagna cauda, beef tendon stew from the Tokyo sake bar, and shrimp and tomato ajillo. The bagna cauda comes with a choice of warm or cold vegetables, and I chose warm. It was a generous portion, and I felt like I could get full on just the vegetables. The sauce comes out in a hot iron pot, and I really liked the flavor of the sauce. It seemed like they put effort into it. Heating it up really brings out the flavor. Both the beef tendon stew and the shrimp and tomato ajillo come with bread. You can also add extra bread for 130 yen. Overall, this place is great value for money. The portions are generous, the flavors are above expectations given the prices. I hope they continue to do well while keeping costs down. Next time, I'll have to try the chicken. I'll definitely come back.

After finishing a meeting in Gotanda, I stepped outside and felt a slight discomfort in the temperature difference between the cool indoor air and the outside air, which was somewhat better than August. I decided to look for a place to eat and headed to Gotanda Sakura Street. As I searched for a good restaurant, the word "chicken" caught my eye, and my feet were already heading towards the shop. The interior of the shop had a stylish atmosphere with brick-style walls and wooden tables. There were also outdoor table seats. The menu featured chicken dishes, such as chicken steak, fried chicken steak, and chicken curry, with variations in sauces and toppings. I ordered the chicken steak lunch with grated green onions. The lunch menu included rice, soup, salad, and a drink with every item. First, the soup, salad, and drink arrived, followed by rice and chicken. The chicken, topped with plenty of grated daikon radish and chopped green onions, looked quite substantial. The chicken itself was thick and satisfying to eat. The combination of daikon radish added a refreshing taste, making it delicious until the end. Priced at 800 yen with soup, salad, and a drink included, it offers good value for money. If you love chicken, I recommend giving it a try.
