I went for a drink alone. After visiting a pizzeria in Horidome-cho with my wife for the first time in a year, which was very delicious but left me a bit unsatisfied in terms of drinks, I decided to make a detour alone. My wife said she was full and headed home quickly. This is where the difference in health check results will be seen, for sure (laughs). So, I walked from Otemachi towards Awajicho, and I noticed a sign along Sotobori Street that read "Specializing in Chicken Meat." I thought I might as well have some grilled chicken and a drink. It's rare to find restaurants open late in this area, so it's quite convenient. It's quite unusual to have an izakaya like this here. It faces Sotobori Street, so it must be a temporary land use until development. The interior of the restaurant is surprisingly spacious and open. There are many tables lined up. Near the entrance, there is a group of European people having a lively time. It looks fun. Drinking alcohol abroad, except in Islamic countries where it is prohibited, increases the chances of interacting with locals, enjoying delicious food, and most importantly, helps to relax and unwind a bit. It's really enjoyable. Please enjoy Japan to the fullest. So, as I was drinking alone, I started with a casual highball. Same as always. I ordered some shrimp chips, something my wife would probably frown upon, to go along with the highball, and it tasted really good (laughs). It's fun. Oh, they have ham cutlets. I'll order that too. It's not bad to think about various things while drinking alone. For the grilled chicken, there is a variety to choose from, but since I wasn't hungry, I chose the carefully selected skewers. I always have to try the liver as it tells you about the quality of the chicken at that restaurant. I also tried the green onion in between and the thigh. The chef, who was diligently grilling on the back grill, brought them to me himself. It feels more delicious when the chef brings it to you rather than the waitstaff. It's a bit nice. The liver was seasoned with salt. It was fresh, firm, and perfectly cooked. It was delicious. The green onion in between and thigh were both nicely grilled. As expected from a restaurant specializing in chicken meat. These were delicious too. Next, I decided to try some offal. I tried the gizzard and heart, both in sauce. The gizzard is a combination of the oviduct, ovary, and kinkan grilled together, but here it was eggs and breast meat skewered and grilled. It may not be the typical gizzard, but it was tasty. The heart was small, flavorful with a strong sauce, but the meat itself was not as flavorful. I had three highballs and felt satisfied. I got rid of the feeling of not having enough to drink. I wonder if my wife was drinking alone at home when I returned (laughs). Thank you for the meal!
