Simply put, it's a fish store in the basement of Tobu Department Store in Ikebukuro. While Tobu Plaza's basement has stores like Kitatatsu, Okawa Suisan, and Koin, the main store is the only one with a fresh fish shop. The sushi corner is also well-stocked. As it nears closing time around 8pm, half-price stickers are put on items. It's hard to resist picking up some bargains. With sushi that's over 2,000 yen being sold for just over 1,000 yen, it's a steal. Being part of the group that has a base in Misaki Tuna, they have top-notch tuna selection. So the prices are slightly higher than usual, but getting them at half price feels like a steal. The appearance of the real tuna and Minami tuna matches their taste. Yes, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal. (By Kyo Natsushu, 12/1/2022) (26 likes, 3.18 rating)

I bought a bento box at a store in Tobu Ikebukuro Department Store basement. The bento box was called "Unagi Zukushi" priced at 1290 yen, but due to an evening time sale, it was only 1000 yen (excluding tax). It was a set of eel sushi with red vinegar rice and unaju. The eel was domestically produced from Kagoshima Prefecture. It came with eel sauce and sansho pepper on the side, which I added just before eating. The large pieces of eel were delicious and I was very satisfied.

On February 3, 2020, at 11:10, I purchased an Ehoumaki (lucky direction sushi roll) on my way to Ikebukuro Station. This year, there were no mountains of Ehoumaki in front of the convenience stores. In previous years, part-time workers would shout, "How about some Ehoumaki~~☆☆" while wearing demon masks, creating a lively atmosphere. However, this year feels quite cold. Perhaps it's due to the shift to a reservation system, but even more noticeable is the number of shuttered shops in the area. The "Gaburi Chicken" store, which rapidly increased its presence in Ikebukuro West Exit, has already closed down. The area has quickly become saturated with chain izakayas, raising concerns about the future. As for this year's Ehoumaki, I purchased it from Uoriki at Tobu Ikebukuro, as I never miss it. Upon arrival, I noticed that there were fewer queues this year. The sushi counters of various tenants were not crowded, and there were no lines. Feeling like a big shot, I decided on a large "Dairyomaki" roll. I purchased it without any hassle, returned home, and devoured it while facing the southwest direction. The squid in the roll seems to have lost its presence over the years. It cost around 2000 yen and was reasonably delicious. I will visit again next year for my "annual observation."

Today was the board game tournament at a friend's house, which happens once or twice a year. Each person brings some snacks to share and enjoy with drinks. In addition to the usual favorites, this time we decided on a whim to include some seafood. "Boiled Firefly Squid" for around 500 yen, served with vinegar miso, is a very standard and tasty option. It's just like the ones you can find at the supermarket. "Salmon and Salmon Roe Sushi" for around 850 yen is a parent-child sushi combo of salmon and salmon roe. This might not be something you see at the supermarket, but it's delicious with the right amount of saltiness. It was really tasty. We found many other appealing seafood options as well, so we will definitely be visiting this place again. The service was also great.

On February 3, 2019, I bought an "Ehomaki" at Iketchika's "Mitogi Sushi" in the first part, and next, I went to Tobu Ikebukuro's "Sakana Chikara" =3=3=3. The atmosphere at "Mitogi Sushi" was similar to what I felt there. There were various places selling "Ehomaki" in all directions, but there wasn't that intense or aggressive vibe from customers like "I'll push through to buy it!!" Usually, in front of a popular store, a Tobu employee in a white upper garment would be holding a sign saying "End of the line" but there wasn't a long line like that. There were no older ladies aggressively questioning a staff member like "Is this one good with this ingredient?" either. There were some outrageously priced "special products" on the flyer, but the prices were mostly the same as last year. There were some with "Otoro" (fatty tuna) but I chose the "Shichifuku Seafood Futomaki"! It's ridiculous to think that it costs around 2000 yen per roll. Just like the "Edomae Inari Sushi" the other day, being expensive doesn't necessarily mean it's good. When I got home, I immediately dug in!!! Hmm (`・∀・´) It's not bad, but for the price, the taste is... The shrimp and squid are strangely watery or just overly sweet, or too soft... After checking the ingredients, I understood. Without cucumbers, the texture seemed even more bland. I heard that squid fishing has been bad in recent years. Even though the ingredients looked the same as last year, they must have changed the variety of squid. It sounds good to say it's corporate effort, but for a futomaki sushi costing around 1500 yen, the balance is off. Thank you for the meal. This year, I was able to evaluate "Mitogi Sushi" based on the price and ingredient balance. Will the "Setsubun" and "Ehomaki" competition be exciting next year? ⁇

On October 12, 2018, after visiting the Mitsui Memorial Museum and Idemitsu Museum of Arts, I considered having dinner in Yurakucho but decided against it due to the crowded restaurants. I then arrived in Ikebukuro, where it was also bustling with people, just like Yurakucho. So, I ended up buying two packs of sashimi from Uoriki in Tobu Ikebukuro store, where they had discounted prices as they were closing. Even discounted items can be delicious if prepared well! When I got home, I marinated one pack in the fridge and the other in soy sauce, sake, sweet cooking wine, roasted sesame, ground sesame, and a little bit of powdered kelp to make a sesame sauce. The next day, for lunch, I had the sashimi and made tai chazuke. The sashimi was good but lacked the firm texture and umami flavor of the one I had in Kyoto. However, the tai chazuke I made with strong tea was delicious and satisfying. I also shared my experience of trying tai chazuke at a popular restaurant in Nihonbashi, where I found the dish to be underwhelming due to the fishy smell, inconsistent sesame sauce, and murky broth. In contrast, the tai chazuke I made at home using fresh fish and strong tea from Ureshino was perfect and brought back memories of enjoying seafood from the Genkai Sea.

I ordered the sashimi set meal for 1400 yen. For an additional 500 yen, you can add either simmered fish, grilled fish, or tempura. I chose grilled fish, which was mackerel with miso marinade. The main sashimi consisted of tuna, salmon, white fish, amberjack, and squid. The slices were thick and fresh! It disappeared in no time. The set also came with chawanmushi. Next time, I will try the sushi.

8 pieces of nigiri sushi for 1,628 yen. Fresh and small shrimp for 385 yen. Located on the 13th floor of Tobu Department Store. The seats were spacious, so it was decent. Worth a visit.

I'm at Tobu Ikebukuro and decided to stop by the fish section in the basement, Fish Force, after a long time. Oh, it seems like the store has expanded and recently reopened. The quality and quantity of the take-out sushi and sashimi here are impressive. Of course, the prices are on the higher side, ranging from around 200 to 500 yen per piece based on my daily experience. But in terms of value for money, it's quite good. As I was contemplating what to get, I noticed they were having a dried fish festival. They had large-sized dried fish lined up, 3 for 990 yen. It looked like even half of one fish would be enough for a meal, so that's around 165 yen per serving. It felt like a great deal. Although I hesitated a bit due to the outside temperature being around 25 degrees Celsius, I decided to buy them to avoid any regrets. I bought some red snapper, sea bream, and saury. I tried the red snapper first, and it was a fantastic choice. The fish had a good amount of fat, and just being able to buy such dried fish makes me envious of Tokyo living. I asked them to put in extra ice, and I had no problems carrying them home. Just wanted to share this experience. (#6194)

I lazily wrote a report. Please read it as a reference. Riding the trend, I went to buy "ehomaki" at Ikebukuro Station on February 3, 2018. There were various signs and posters at convenience stores, but not much promotion. The line at Etika's "Midori Sushi" was impressive, with over 20 people waiting. The nearby "Seijo Ishii" was quieter. I decided to go to Tobu Ikebukuro instead. At Tobu Ikebukuro B2, there were lines everywhere. The unique ehomaki didn't have as long of a line. The ones with raw fish, for kids, or with vinegar rice sold well. People were buying ehomaki ingredients in abundance, but no one was buying things like simmered sardines or holly and sardine heads. I also visited other stores like Plaza Hall and Seibu Ikebukuro. Famous restaurants like "Ginza Kyubei" were selling their ehomaki as well, but only from 3 pm. I bought a "Sukiyaki Ehomaki" from Ningyocho Imahan. Sushi restaurants were more popular at Tobu. I returned to Tobu to look for traditional ehomaki. "Uoriki" was more expensive this year, and the seafood roll I bought last year was sold out. It's a shame that "Sushiiwa" closed down. I wanted ehomaki with fresh sea urchin, but only "Kanzan" had a half-size version. "Uoriki" had steamed sea urchin ehomaki. I ended up buying the expensive "Dairyomaki Gok" for over 2500 yen. I enjoyed it after throwing beans at night. This year's direction was "south-southeast." The ehomaki had tuna, fatty tuna, salmon, negitoro, squid, red snapper, steamed sea urchin, flying fish roe, pickled ginger, shiso, and green onion. It was delicious, but having negitoro and green onion seemed redundant. Recently, sushi in supermarkets and department stores has been more focused on serving without wasabi and soy sauce, making it hard to distinguish the flavors. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious. But when there are more than 7 ingredients, it's hard to tell what's what. That's all for the 2018 review. I'm still feeling unwell.

On February 3, 2017, I had a follow-up appointment in Otsuka six months after surgery and decided to have lunch at "Sekai Hanbai" in Ikebukuro. I thought about watching the movie "Silence" before heading back, but I had some time to spare before the showtime. Maybe I should buy some "Ehomaki" first? I checked out various places first. First, I went to Etika's "Bito Sushi" in Ikebukuro, where there was a long line. The sushi here is reasonably priced and delicious. Then, I visited "Uoin" which opened last year and was selling "Ehomaki" in the cold case. I was a bit hesitant because of the steamed sea urchin. I skipped ISP and Seibu Ikebukuro this year and decided to check Tobu Department Store. In the Plaza Building, I found "Kitatatsu Sushi" which is known for its skillful use of shrimp and crab in addition to tuna. However, I wasn't feeling it this year. I then went to the main building and was disappointed to find that "Sushi Iwa" had closed. They used to serve authentic sushi and rolls. This year, it was all about visually appealing and expensive "Ehomaki". I also visited "Kaneshoan" and "Minoyoshi" but the ingredients were lacking. In the end, I settled for "Uoriki" in Tobu Department Store, which had the longest line. The "Ocean Delight Roll" was popular, but I opted for the slightly luxurious "Tuna Roll" which had domestic tuna and cost around 2000-3000 yen. After watching the movie "Silence", I returned home and didn't have much of an appetite. I decided to eat anyway and prepared grilled fish and various side dishes. I enjoyed my meal while facing northwest and wished for good luck in the coming year.

Recently, I visited a department store because supermarkets have a poor selection of items. I checked out Tobu Ikebukuro and Seibu Ikebukuro, but Fishpower was still the best. I bought medium fatty tuna from South Tuna on the night of December 15th. It was reasonably priced at around 700 yen for 100g, but the taste was mediocre. It was somewhere between "no taste" and "delicious". It seems like you have to spend around 1,200 yen for 100g to get something delicious, but ordering online requires a total of 5,000 yen or 10,000 yen for free shipping, so the value of Fishpower is significant. The rating remains at 3.5. That's all. There are more sushi options at Fishpower compared to other stores. Despite having only about two to three times the floor space of other stores, they have a wide selection of sashimi like crab and sea urchin. Sea urchin is a bit pricey, so it might be better to go to Tsukiji if you want to make sea urchin rice bowls. I haven't bought boiled crab legs yet, but there are time sales with discounts, and the selection is comparable to ItoXXXX, a store that handles higher-quality food. The options have expanded to include ItoXXXX, Tsukiji, and Fishpower. While online shopping is indeed cheaper, if you want a specific delivery date, it may take about two weeks, which is not suitable for when you want to eat something right away. As for whale sashimi, I saw a store selling it for the first time in my life, excluding food exhibitions at event venues. The 100g sashimi for 298 yen is a delight for me, who has only eaten whale sashimi at whale specialty restaurants for over 1,000 yen. It's 199g, but it looks like it would be equivalent to about 3-4 plates at a restaurant. The white part is as expected, a tendon, but the red sashimi part is the same as eating whale sashimi at a restaurant. They also have a website and seem to have a wide presence in the Kanto region. In addition to takeout, they also operate directly managed sushi restaurants like "Fishpower Seafood Sushi Nerima Store" (already registered on Tabelog), so I would like to visit during lunchtime.

Before going to MORIVA COFFEE, I did some rough research. I'm all set with my plan today and I'm serious about it. Due to various circumstances, I'm at JR Ikebukuro Station West Exit, Tobu Department Store B2F, in the fresh food section, at the fish corner where there is always a long line at a shop called "Uoriki." I've been here a few times before, and now it seems like a waste. I bought a half-price "honmaguro maki" and ate it on a vacant table. I'm very satisfied. As long as I can eat comfortably and it tastes good, that's all that matters. Thank you for the meal. Now, let's move on to the next place!

On my day off, I felt like having sushi as a snack with some drinks, so I decided to go to my usual Tenka Sushi. As I was walking through the station, I noticed that Tobu Department Store was about to close. I thought to myself, the sushi must be discounted by now! So I hurried to the seafood section. Although most of the store was already closed, I found a few sushi sets left with half-price stickers on them. I bought the most expensive 12-piece set for 1600 yen. It included fatty tuna, salmon roe, squid, sea bream, and shrimp with the head still on, among others. It was quite luxurious. Getting all that for 800 yen was a great deal. The fatty tuna especially had soaked in so much fat that it was delicious. I will definitely come back to try my luck for more half-priced sushi in the future.

When it comes to "costumes" in Japan, it's "Setsubun ghosts." Halloween is Mr. Bantenren's festival. Lately, it's all about excessive noise... Next is Easter eggs? Galette des Rois? I can't keep up with it (bitter smile). Now, on Setsubun morning, I'll decorate the front door with an "Iwashi head" substitute for the mask and holly, and offer "roasted soybeans" in a masu on the household Shinto altar. Later, I will throw beans. Should I make "simmered sardines"? I feel sluggish... Should I buy them this time, or just make do with the substitute? To avoid being late for a detailed examination, I leave the house. At the hospital, after various tests, the result was "a stone over 10mm in diameter in the right kidney." Isn't that bigger than a bean? My body felt sluggish because my kidney function was low due to the stone. Next month, I'll have a CT scan and the treatment will be determined, but it seems like it will be shock wave lithotripsy (cries). I had a set meal at "Dousaka Shokudo" and went to Ikebukuro... Riding the trend, should I have an "Ehoumaki" for dinner? If it's fish, it's good for the body, right? It might help reduce swelling too? No, no, that's just obesity f^_^; Tobu Department Store's basement is packed with sushi. The Plaza building is empty, but the main building basement is different. Seeking all kinds of "Ehoumaki," "rolled things," and "fat and long things," there was a long line! Anyway, I have to buy an "Ehoumaki"~ The "simmered sardines" don't seem popular... There are few stores selling them, and no one is buying. Maybe the scary-faced demons aren't popular either... Only cute demon characters! Anyway, I have to buy an "Ehoumaki." I stopped at "Sushiiwa" and "Furuichia" where I always buy, but this time I went to "Uoriki." As expected of a fresh fish specialty store, they have a wide variety of items for sale! This time, I bought a "seafood roll" with kazunoko. I returned home, faced the direction of good fortune, and silently chewed~ It's delicious, but it's a good luck charm, so it must be like this! When I looked at the catalog, there was something like a "Oma Hon Maguro Roll" for 25,000 yen! (◎_◎;) A thick roll of tuna with gold leaf sprinkled on top... Do they expect you to eat it all in one go without cutting it? With just a sniff, the gold leaf is going to fly everywhere~ Σ( ̄。 ̄ノ)ノ Fish is delicious, so I wish they would focus on normal thick rolls ( ̄Д ̄)ノ It's probably the developer's department store's intention, though (bitter smile)

This is a fish store that I have used several times at other stores. When I drive to Ikebukuro, I often use the Seibu parking lot because it is often affiliated with Seibu, but this time I also did a little shopping at Tobu. This store mainly offers sushi for takeout, but I like it because they have rare sushi toppings that are not available at the nearby supermarket. I bought tuna, sardines, fresh baby sardines, houbou, ainame, and one more that I forgot, each with 3 pieces. The sushi I ate at home was fresh and delicious. Recently, stores like this Fish Rikisan and Kakuei Fishery are focusing on fresh fish, so going to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant seems silly. However, my husband and his parents still want to go to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant occasionally.

On 2015.05.09, revisited the restaurant with the motive of visiting the "Beautiful Village Exhibition" at Seibu Department Store in Ikebukuro, but couldn't find anything good to eat, so ended up exploring the "Hokkaido Exhibition" at Tobu Department Store, which was also disappointing. Eventually, ended up buying a box of sushi from the restaurant on the B1 floor of Tobu Department Store. [Taste] - Sea Treasure (1489 yen): Feeling a bit hungry after sampling various foods elsewhere, decided to share one piece with my wife. The box contained 12 types of seafood including squid, shrimp, turban shell, conger eel, sea urchin, salmon roe, sea bream, yellowtail, fatty tuna, mackerel, and flounder. The ingredients looked fresh and not dried out. My wife and I shared it almost evenly, and all the seafood tasted fresh and flavorful, with the rice being well-cooked and having a nice texture. It seemed like the sushi rice was hand-pressed by a skilled sushi chef. The cost performance was also good. Overall rating: 4.0 out of 5.0 (average rating: 3.0) [General Comments] I was more attracted to the seafood at this restaurant than at the Hokkaido Exhibition. The sushi was delicious, and the cost performance was excellent. Visited on 2014.10.26 with the motive of buying the items specified by my wife after seeing an advertisement at Tobu Department Store. [Ambience] The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of Tobu Department Store, just a 3-minute walk from the station. The exterior looks like a fresh fish shop inside the department store. The spacious interior is filled with a variety of fresh seafood, and there is a lively atmosphere with a moderate number of customers. [Taste] - Seafood Gratitude Bento (1080 yen): Arrived 10 minutes after opening and managed to secure one of the popular bento boxes that had sold out within 5 minutes the day before. The box contained sea bream, fatty tuna, salmon roe, crab, salmon, tuna, sea bream, yellowtail, and medium fatty tuna. My wife and I quickly finished one each. The seafood was fresh and delicious, and I even thought about wanting another one. The quality exceeded my expectations given the affordable price. Overall rating: 4.0 out of 5.0 (average rating: 3.0) [Additional Comments] We had discussed going to Tsukiji for seafood, but after experiencing the taste and value offered here, we no longer felt the need to go there. The quality is top-notch. After purchasing, as long as you can secure a place to eat quickly, it's hard to find better cost performance. [General Comments] Delicious food with excellent cost performance.
