I love tempura, but I don't want to eat it all the time. However, I do enjoy it. I was planning to go to a tempura rice bowl restaurant in Akasaka with a colleague from my previous company, who is actually younger than me but joined the company before I did. We worked together a lot, but he's not my subordinate. I was looking forward to it, but since that was coming up, I had no intention of eating fried food. However, I ended up going to a tempura restaurant because it was the last day of work for someone I had a farewell lunch with the day before, and I wanted to buy some miscellaneous goods as a farewell gift at Inz. I was running out of time and couldn't decide what to buy, so I rushed into the basement. I remembered that I had gotten used to going down the stairs, but my right foot was still wrapped in bandages. It was inconvenient. I didn't have time to hesitate and jumped into this restaurant. I always try new places even in times like this. It looked like a tempura restaurant, but they also had regular set meals. The daily special was mackerel miso, so I ordered that. After taking a closer look at the menu later, I noticed that the tempura zaru was surprisingly cheap. I'm saving up for the weekend tempura rice bowl, but I might try it next time. The mackerel miso arrived shortly. It came with a vegetable side dish, which was nice. The mackerel miso was thick and just how I like it. It was delicious. And all this for 780 yen. Not bad at all. I do have some concerns about the quality of the tempura in this price range, but at least the daily special was good. The vegetable side dish and miso soup were not outstanding, but just average. After all, it's only 780 yen. It's quite affordable. The interior of the restaurant is not very clean and has a slightly dim izakaya atmosphere. The service is energetic but a bit off. Not rude, but probably the staff (or owner) is a free spirit. That kind of feeling. The food was served quickly, and I made it back to the office safely. Now, it's not anything special, but it's a budget-friendly option, so I'll give it as a farewell gift and celebrate her new beginning.
