I went to Tsukiji Sushi Iwa at Ginza Mitsukoshi located in the basement of the store. There were various courses available, so I decided to go with the omakase course. The tekka maki was ordinary, with the rice lacking flavor, so I found it a bit unsatisfying. The menu included chutoro, sea urchin, kanpachi, sweet shrimp, shirako, medium fatty tuna, and anago. The scallop was delicious with lemon and salt. The razor clam was surprisingly thin. Overall, I felt a bit unsatisfied with the meal. Thank you for the feast.

I went to Sushi Iwa in Mitsukoshi Ginza for a quick meal. I ordered a bamboo sushi set for 1980 yen and 2 pieces of bird clam sushi for 880 yen. The tea was plentiful and the powdered green tea was delicious. Among the bamboo sushi, the scallop with lemon salt was the best. The bird clam sushi was firm and light, a common type. The vinegared rice was crisp, so it may not be suitable for beginners. If you want to have a light sushi meal in Ginza's department store basement for around 3000 yen, this place is not bad. Just say you had sushi in Ginza, no problem at all.

I finished shopping on 3/10 in 2023 and was wondering where to have lunch. I happened to see that there was an available seat here, so I decided to go in. The menu wasn't very extensive, so I quickly chose the "Special Nigiri" because I know how delicious the sushi here is. They made it right away and all the pieces were served promptly in front of me, so I trusted the quality. I started eating and wow, everything was amazing. The tuna melted in my mouth, so fresh. The sea urchin was delicious, and personally, the egg was the best part, so creamy. The salmon roe was perfect as it is, really good. The seaweed didn't overpower the taste of the sushi. Everything was incredible. I finished with a sip of tea and thanked them for the meal. They also sell sushi for takeout, and there's a small section where they make the sushi right in front of you. People who know, know that the sushi here is the best. I will definitely come back. Thank you and see you next time. m(*_ _)m

I visited a store in the basement of Ginza Mitsukoshi during the day. This floor has various takeout dishes and sweets, but this place seems to be one of the few where you can eat in. I ordered the "Take" for 1,980 yen. It included 2 pieces of tuna, squid, white fish, sweet shrimp, scallop, salmon roe, eel, egg, and 3 pieces of Tekka Maki. They served it in order right in front of me. The taste was not bad, but for the price of 2,000 yen, it didn't seem worth it. However, considering the location, this might be the only option. Thank you for the meal.

After shopping at Ginza Mitsukoshi, I decided to have sushi before heading home. I hadn't been there in a while, as I used to go for lunch occasionally. I ordered the "Chef's choice nigiri" for 2,750 yen, which included medium fatty tuna, sea bream, sweet shrimp, shirako, horse mackerel, salmon roe, sea urchin, scallop, and conger eel, with a substitution of octopus, tuna roll, and tamago for 8 pieces in total. It was decently delicious, nothing extraordinary, but good for a quick bite.

Sushi restaurant with only 5 counter seats in the Depachika of Ginza Mitsukoshi. Located on the 2nd basement floor. I was looking forward to visiting this place as the head chef is from the main branch of Tsukiji Sushi Iwa. They offer various sushi sets such as Ume for 1,650 yen, Take for 1,980 yen, Matsu for 2,310 yen, and Tokujyo Nigiri for 3,630 yen, all at reasonable prices. They also have two types of rice bowls, Maguro Don for 2,750 yen, and Seafood Chirashi for 2,200 yen. You can order individual pieces of sushi, but the set menu is more cost-effective. They offer bottled Lager beer and Japanese sake only. The place is usually crowded, but on this day, there were no customers, so I easily got a seat. I ordered the Mampuku Sushi set with 10 pieces and 6 pieces of rolls for 1,980 yen, and a bottle of beer for 550 yen. The sushi included 3 types of tuna, white fish, squid, octopus, boiled shrimp, trumpet shell, conger eel, tamago, and Tekka Maki. The taste was average, nothing special. The speed at which the sushi was served was too fast, so I couldn't enjoy my drink leisurely. Despite no other customers, I felt rushed. With only 5 counter seats, they seem to prioritize high turnover, which might explain the lack of detailed explanations about the sushi. While the main branch of Sushi Iwa is known for its luxury, this place seems to have a different concept based on its pricing. If I were to go for lunch, I would rather spend double or triple the amount at a different restaurant where I can enjoy sushi leisurely. This place is more suitable for those who just want to quickly fill their stomach with sushi. Next to the eat-in area, there is a sushi retail corner where you can buy sushi sets, rolls, and futomaki for takeout.

A sushi restaurant in the B2 floor of Ginza Mitsukoshi where you can eat in. Ordered the premium nigiri sushi. Sat down and finished in probably 10 minutes. It was tasteless. It's a little better that they didn't serve it all at once. They kept bringing out the dishes one after another, so I hurried to eat. I didn't feel satisfied after eating. It wasn't crowded in the evening. Honestly, I didn't feel good about it at all.

After getting my nails done, I felt like having brunch and decided to go to Tsukiji Sushi Iwa at Ginza Mitsukoshi Store. Today, June 19th, is Father's Day, so Ginza Mitsukoshi and Mitsukoshi Depachika were extremely crowded! It felt like we were back to the pre-COVID days. Tsukiji Sushi Iwa is located in the Mitsukoshi Depachika in Ginza. It only has 5 counter seats, but it's a satisfying place to eat. We walked through the big noren curtain, sat down, and within a minute, we were served tea. Today, we ordered the "Chef's choice 8-piece nigiri sushi." The chef in front of us skillfully prepared each piece. We had tuna, sweet shrimp, rolled omelette, horse mackerel, shirako, mini ark shell, a complimentary piece of himo, sea urchin, salmon roe, boiled scallop, and conger eel. Everything was delicious - the fish, rice, pickled ginger, and tea were all perfect. Watching the chef prepare the sushi and having a little chat with him made the experience even better. Counter sushi dining is truly the best! The staff, including the ladies at the normal takeout counter, were all friendly and created a welcoming atmosphere that you wouldn't expect in a department store basement eatery. Thank you for the wonderful meal! Chef's choice 8-piece nigiri sushi for 2,750 yen.

We mainly sell souvenirs, but we also have an eat-in space where skilled artisans make sushi for you. They explain various ways to eat it and provide great service. It's best to enjoy it quickly without lingering too long! We offer small bottles of alcohol and Japanese sake only.

I came to Mitsukoshi to find the things I needed and decided to visit this sushi restaurant located at the end of the basement for the first time in a while. I was amazed by their sales method of offering high-quality sushi at a reasonable price. I chose the special nigiri sushi. The tea was delicious. The sushi chef made the sushi right in front of me and served it. There was no explanation of the ingredients, but he kept making and serving sushi quickly, making it hard to eat slowly. The sushi was delicious, but it was a bit rushed. The chef was wearing loose gloves while making sushi, which was impressive. It would have been more convincing if he wore tight-fitting gloves. Overall, the sushi was good, and the COVID-19 measures like individually wrapped wet tissues, alcohol for each table, and acrylic partitions were well done. It was a tasty meal. Thank you very much.

I really like this place. The staff at the shop are super friendly and have great service. I had a meat pie and canele for lunch, but I got hungry so I decided to have a snack sushi time. Mitsukoshi on Saturdays is crowded. The theme is quick and easy, so I ordered 2 pieces each at a time. The recommended fish were grouper and scallop. The grouper was thick and juicy, no, very juicy. The scallop was soft and delicate. It goes well with the lightly pressed sushi rice. I ordered another 2 pieces. I was looking at the case of ingredients trying to decide what to eat, and they recommended the ark shell and sea bream, so I ordered them. The ark shell moves softly when you tap it lightly. They helped me move it to take a photo, I appreciate that. I like this kind of unpretentious place. The thick ark shell has a great texture. The sea bream was garnished with kabosu for a nice presentation. Squeeze the kabosu and sprinkle with salt! There is no mistake here. I find this place very convenient as you can enjoy delicious sushi at a reasonable price while sitting comfortably. I had a great time.

There is an eat-in corner on the basement 2nd floor of Mitsukoshi. This place is open all day, so it's convenient even if you're late for lunch. There are 9 menu items. I chose the Také (tax included 1,980 yen), which has 2 more pieces of sushi than the Ume. The counter has acrylic partitions between adjacent seats. First, there was tuna and white fish. The topping and the rice were both small but had a reassuring taste. Next, tuna again, salmon roe, squid, sweet shrimp, and egg. Then scallop squeezed with citrus and bonito came out. Lastly, there was eel. The fluffy eel is always a good way to end an Edo-style sushi meal. While there was no particular excitement, having a taste that you can eat with peace of mind is important.

Since I came all the way to Ginza, I thought I'd try some sushi. I found a place called Tsukiji Sushi Iwa in Ginza Mitsukoshi where you can eat in. I quietly peeked inside and found a seat, then ordered the "Take" set. I was a bit worried because I had ramen at Ito-san's earlier, but the sushi rice was small so it was okay. The chef makes fresh sushi right in front of the small counter. It was quite a challenge to take photos and eat quickly, but I was able to enjoy sushi in Ginza. Thank you for the meal.

I aimed to visit a certain Mapo Tofu Ramen restaurant in Ginza and went for a stroll. To my surprise, there was no line in front of the restaurant!! But then I realized it was a day off (´;ω;`)ウゥゥ To lift my spirits, I first headed to a department store because it was hot outside. Unable to resist my hunger, I went down to the basement floor. I remembered a sushi restaurant where I had previously bought takeout, now offering eat-in service as well. The restaurant had only 6 counter seats but the turnover was good with 3 sushi chefs working. In addition to the sushi chefs, there were 2 women selling in front of the store. When I asked about the difference between "Tokujou Nigiri" and "Kabuki," they showed me a menu with photos. I ordered 2 Kabuki sets and 2 small bottles of beer. The prices were what you would expect in Ginza. However, each piece of sushi was carefully prepared and the fish was fresh. It was very delicious. In between the nigiri, I had a small bowl of ikura-don and uni-don. Eating them with a spoon was so delicious! Recently, there are many foreign tourists in Ginza. Both of our neighbors were foreigners. They could use chopsticks but didn't know how to eat sushi properly - they were soaking the rice in soy sauce... For foreigners, it might be better to serve the sushi with soy sauce already applied on the fish. Thank you for the meal! It was delicious♪

On July 13th, I watched the July Grand Kabuki performance featuring Ebizo's quick changes of 13 roles. I bought a bento at Mitsukoshi underground recommended by the manager for 2916 yen. They made it after I ordered, and I picked it up 15 minutes later to enjoy during the 30-minute intermission at Kabuki-za. The tuna, sea bream, sweet shrimp, and salmon roe were delicious. It's definitely much tastier than regular takeout sushi. It's also easy to eat in your seat, making it suitable as a bring-in bento.

I felt a little hungry around 3 o'clock, so I decided to stop by here. Since it wasn't crowded, I was able to get a seat easily. The friendly chef quickly recommended dishes and took orders. The food came out promptly, which is great for those in a hurry. The quality of the sushi was excellent, with fresh ingredients and delicate rice. The prices are very reasonable for Ginza, making it a convenient option. The chef is chatty and makes the experience enjoyable. I can easily come here alone and even buy some takeout on the way back. I look forward to visiting again. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Today is March 3rd, which is the Girls' Festival in Japan. I went to Mitsukoshi department store to look for something, and since it's marathon day, I couldn't cross the nearby roads. I found this sushi restaurant by chance and had lunch there. It was a great experience dining in with my parents. My parents ordered plum sushi (they actually don't like fish much), while I ordered the special nigiri set. They make the sushi right in front of you after you order. I won't go into too much detail, but everything was delicious. The sweet shrimp was marinated in a special soy sauce, and you can eat the whole shrimp with the tail removed. The scallop was sprinkled with sudachi, and the ingredients were all so fresh and tasty. The soy sauce on the table was hardly needed. If you don't like a certain type of sushi, you can negotiate for a different one. They also have items for takeout, which might be a good idea. Overall, it was a satisfying experience enjoying delicious sushi in this hidden gem of a space. Thank you for the meal.

I have tried takeout from here at Ginza Mitsukoshi food floor before, but this was my first time dining in. I had the Bamboo course, where they serve two pieces of sushi at a time. The toppings included tuna, squid, scallop, salmon roe, eel, and the shrimp topping was surprisingly large. The rice was thin and the pieces of sushi were big. I was surprised at how quickly the meal was served, taking only about 10 minutes. The large rice portions filled me up quickly.

You can use this place for a quick meal before Kabuki! I arrived at Ginza Station at 14:25, ordered at 14:30, left Mitsukoshi at 14:45, and arrived at Kabuki-za at 14:50. There was only one person finishing their meal before me, so my order came quickly and I was able to finish eating in just over 10 minutes. I ordered the bamboo sushi. The sushi was really good, not like conveyor belt sushi or takeout. The fish was fresh and the rice was a bit bigger. The seaweed on the rolled sushi was delicious. They gave plenty of pickled ginger. The powdered green tea at the sushi restaurant was delicious as always. The chefs were busy but close by, so there was no pressure. It's easy for anyone to enjoy delicious sushi at the department store basement. It's on the way to East Ginza on the B2 floor of Mitsukoshi, and when you finish eating and leave through the closest exit, East Ginza is right in front of you. I would love to stop by again when I go to Kabuki-za.

It's a great deal to be able to enjoy counter sushi where it's easy for even one person to enter, order according to your preference, and at an affordable price. Despite the bustling atmosphere of the department store basement, the sushi chefs are kind and welcoming. I ordered a variety of shellfish, mackerel, and Pacific saury. The Pacific saury was prepared fresh after ordering, and everything was delicious. I highly recommend it. The pickled ginger had the perfect balance of sweetness and vinegar, making it the ideal accompaniment. I wish they sold it separately.
