Sushi restaurant with only 5 counter seats in the Depachika of Ginza Mitsukoshi. Located on the 2nd basement floor. I was looking forward to visiting this place as the head chef is from the main branch of Tsukiji Sushi Iwa. They offer various sushi sets such as Ume for 1,650 yen, Take for 1,980 yen, Matsu for 2,310 yen, and Tokujyo Nigiri for 3,630 yen, all at reasonable prices. They also have two types of rice bowls, Maguro Don for 2,750 yen, and Seafood Chirashi for 2,200 yen. You can order individual pieces of sushi, but the set menu is more cost-effective. They offer bottled Lager beer and Japanese sake only. The place is usually crowded, but on this day, there were no customers, so I easily got a seat. I ordered the Mampuku Sushi set with 10 pieces and 6 pieces of rolls for 1,980 yen, and a bottle of beer for 550 yen. The sushi included 3 types of tuna, white fish, squid, octopus, boiled shrimp, trumpet shell, conger eel, tamago, and Tekka Maki. The taste was average, nothing special. The speed at which the sushi was served was too fast, so I couldn't enjoy my drink leisurely. Despite no other customers, I felt rushed. With only 5 counter seats, they seem to prioritize high turnover, which might explain the lack of detailed explanations about the sushi. While the main branch of Sushi Iwa is known for its luxury, this place seems to have a different concept based on its pricing. If I were to go for lunch, I would rather spend double or triple the amount at a different restaurant where I can enjoy sushi leisurely. This place is more suitable for those who just want to quickly fill their stomach with sushi. Next to the eat-in area, there is a sushi retail corner where you can buy sushi sets, rolls, and futomaki for takeout.
