The restaurant is located in a residential area with only one shop on the street. The father, who is quite elderly, helps out by frying chicken and cleaning up dishes at the counter. The son grills yakitori and motsuyaki while adjusting the charcoal. The father is from Yamagata and serves dishes with Yamagata dashi, a dish made with sticky vegetables and kombu that is said to give you energy in the summer. The food is delicious and you'll want to order extra servings. They also serve a dish of cold tofu with dashi. Although the yakitori and motsuyaki were tasty, the portions were small and the prices were cheap. It's a good place for solo dining, but the taste could be better.

I was introduced to the restaurant "Toritomo" while chatting and exchanging information at the "Standing Bar Mama's Shop." They said the skewers there are delicious, so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant is located between Kojiya and Otorii on the north side of the Keikyu Airport Line, in the Kannon-do shopping street. I walked there from the "Standing Bar Mama's Shop." I entered the restaurant through the orange curtain and sat at the counter to look at the menu. I ordered a drink and started with the tofu and motsu stew, which was delicious with the addition of tofu. Then, I tried three skewer items, most of which were priced at 100 yen each. They were small but tasty. I plan to invite my friends next time and try more dishes. Thank you for the meal.

Yesterday, I had a fun gathering with people from Ota City that I know through Twitter. We met at Toritomo in Nishi-Kojiya. It was my first time visiting this restaurant, and as everyone arrived, we started with a toast. There was Sapporo and Kirin beer, as well as Hoppy and Kinmiya shochu. The food was delicious, including pork sashimi, chicken half-fried, chicken yukke, and various grilled dishes. The chicken half-fried was especially tasty, with juicy and hot chicken thigh meat. The atmosphere was lively, and I had a great time chatting with everyone. I look forward to visiting Toritomo again for more delicious food and drinks. Thank you, Toritomo, for a wonderful meal.

This is a yakitori restaurant located in a residential area. If you don't know about it, you might not be able to find it. The food here is cheap, delicious, and it's easy to overeat. You can get yakitori for less than 100 yen each, and they also have delicious chicken thigh skewers and chicken skin skewers. Surprisingly, the potato salad is highly recommended! They also have plum wine for drinking. Despite the cheap and tasty food, the service from the staff is really bad. They are all quite blunt, so even as a regular customer, I sometimes get annoyed (laughs).

There is a shop in a difficult-to-find shopping street that takes about 10 minutes on foot from Otorii Station. The majority of the customers seem to be regulars who live nearby. When I arrived around 9 pm and ordered yakitori, many of the skewers were sold out, so I couldn't get what I wanted. The yakitori is priced between 80 yen and 100 yen, which is quite reasonable. I also ordered pig's feet, chicken salad, deep-fried chicken knees, and grilled yam. The yakitori pieces were quite small, but considering the price, it's understandable. They were seasoned with salt and tasted really good. The deep-fried chicken knees had a light seasoning on the batter and were delicious as well. I was curious about the chicken wing deep-fried by the man next to me. Overall, the taste was very good. However, it was disappointing that the young female staff taking drink orders did not bring the drinks even after taking the order, and only brought them after being reminded. This happened with every drink order, so it seems to be an issue with that particular staff member. The regular customers didn't seem to mind, but it bothered me quite a bit. Other than that, everything was very good. It seems that you can also take the yakitori and deep-fried items to go (phone reservations are also accepted), so they might make a good dinner side dish.

A few years ago, I visited this place and thought it was delicious, so I decided to visit again after a long time. I ordered the simmered dish with tofu, which you can choose with or without. The flavor was good, and the tofu was soft and nice. The price goes up a bit when you add tofu. I also ordered the fried chicken wings, which were a normal size and bone-in. They were crispy and delicious without being too heavy. We also had liver sashimi, heart sashimi, and horse sashimi, all of which were fresh and had a sweet and savory taste. You can choose from ginger, sesame oil, or garlic as condiments. We were recommended the grilled salmon marinated in miso, which was more like a side dish for rice than a snack with alcohol. We also ordered a parent and child bowl, which I didn't eat, but the three people I was with said it was delicious. They have a decent selection of sake as well. For reference, a local sake like Hakkaisan costs around 600 yen for a glass, the same price as a draft beer. Our bill came out to be around 4,300 yen per person for four hours of drinking from 6:30 pm with four people. It was a bit pricey, but it was worth it to find a place with good food after a long time.

I entered the restaurant with 4 colleagues from work. We visit about once a month. The specialty here is fried chicken wings. They fry whole chicken wings, not just the tips like at Yamachan, making it enjoyable to eat with your hands. The yakitori and chicken sashimi are delicious, and the pork bowl is quite tasty as well. The pickled cabbage served as a palate cleanser is also really good. Grilled dishes like salt-grilled onions and yam are also great. However, as others have mentioned, there are a lot of regular customers and the restaurant is a bit far from the station. The value for money is not the best, but for some reason, it's a place you want to keep coming back to.
