A local popular soba restaurant located about a 3-minute walk from Musashiseki Station. I have visited this place twice about 7 years ago, but for some reason, I haven't revisited since then. Recently, I have revisited 5 times, so I decided to finally write a review. The exterior looks stylish for a local soba restaurant, but once you step inside, it has a very cozy atmosphere. The seating includes counter seats, table seats, and private-like table seats at the back. During lunchtime, they offer a "-100 yen discount set" where you can get a set menu of either soba (can be changed to udon) or a rice dish (small) for 100 yen off depending on the day of the week. The rice dish (small) for the set includes curry rice (Tuesday: 790 yen), kakiage-don (Wednesday: 790 yen), uma-shio pork don (Thursday: 820 yen), katsu-don (Friday: 890 yen), oyako-don (Saturday: 820 yen), and tempura-don (Sunday: 1100 yen). The large portion of soba or udon is an additional 100 yen. I have tried four set menus so far: soba and katsu-don, kake-soba and oyako-don, mori-udon and tempura-don, and kake-udon and uma-shio pork don. When it comes to noodles, my preference would be soba → mori-udon → kake-udon → kake-soba. The signature dish, soba, has a firm texture and is the most delicious. It's nice that they provide four types of condiments like grated radish, chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and fried tempura bits for one person. However, the texture of the soba becomes quite soft when it's kake-soba, which is a bit disappointing. On the other hand, mori-udon has a surprisingly good texture. This texture is maintained quite well even when it's kake-udon, which makes it enjoyable to eat. As for rice dishes, my preference would be uma-shio pork don → tempura-don → katsu-don → oyako-don. The uma-shio pork don, made with salt-based sauce stir-fried pork belly, suits my taste perfectly. The tempura-don is indeed delicious, considering the higher price. As for katsu-don and oyako-don, it may be a matter of personal preference, but I find them a bit too sweet for my liking. I also tried the simmered tripe set meal (1250 yen) on another day, and it was delicious with plenty of tripe stewed in miso. It was nice that you could enjoy it with a side of soba, even though it was a small portion. Since there are still many menu options to try, I plan to revisit when I feel like it in the future.
