4th visit. Visited on Monday at 1:30 PM. No waiting time. A coffee shop located in a back alley south of Tokyo Skytree, a must-visit when near Skytree! The coffee is delicious, and the homemade sweets are amazing, making it my favorite cafe! The small shop has only 3 counter seats, giving it a hidden gem vibe as it is located on a quiet street. The shelves inside are filled with various coffee beans in bottles. The main coffee is dark roast, with a characteristic bitterness and deep flavor. The sweets vary daily, usually offering 2-3 types.
---
What I had:
- Premium Ripe Bean
- Black Sesame Fluff
The fluff is a smooth-textured dessert similar to panna cotta. It is topped with black syrup and vanilla ice cream. The fluff is subtly sweet with a smooth texture, incredibly delicious! The combination of ice cream and black syrup is excellent, bringing out new flavors and making it extremely tasty! It pairs well with the dark roast coffee. The intense bitterness and rich sweetness complement each other, enhancing the flavors even more!

We went as a couple. The shop had only four counter seats, and we chose the Shigeno blend from the beans displayed on the wall. The coffee was carefully brewed right in front of us and was very delicious. The highlight was the "Goma Furufuru" (sesame panna cotta), which was incredibly tasty. Thank you very much.

It's a small café near the Skytree. The café is so tiny that only about five people can sit inside, and the scent of coffee fills the air. It was a hot day, so I ordered an iced café latte and a pudding. Even though I thought coffee would be better here, I couldn't resist the heat. I learned from the master that they ask for your coffee preferences when making café lattes. Amazing! The cups have a cute cherry blossom pattern, and each cup is different, which adds an interesting touch. Now, the pudding was delicious. It was firm, quite firm, and very rich. The firm texture paired perfectly with the intense caramel. This is the kind of taste that makes you want to come back for more. It's really to my liking. The pudding was so dense that it could make you feel full just by itself. The master had a very kind demeanor, making it a warm and inviting place. Thank you for the meal.

The shop is small, but regular customers know the drill and non-dine-in customers were entering with a ticket system. The coffee lineup is unique and enjoyable. I ordered a set with Thai, Dutch, and Guatemalan coffees. The coffee was hand-dripped with CAFEC's "Flower Dripper" and surprisingly hot, just the way I like it. I enjoyed the coffee while waiting for the pudding. The pudding was delicious, slightly firmer than recent puddings, a bit creamy, and had a perfect balance. I decided to buy some beans. They also have unique teas that can get you excited.

I visited in the morning on a weekday. The interior of the shop had only 5 counter seats, and there were no other customers. There were over 20 jars of coffee beans to choose from, and you can select your preferred coffee. When you tell the master your preference, they will recommend a coffee for you. Today, I wanted a coffee with normal bitterness and some acidity, so I was recommended the Tobu and Mocha blend. I thought it was a bit ordinary, but I ordered it as recommended. They carefully brewed it with a paper drip. The aroma was nice, the bitterness was mild, and it was delicious. The acidity wasn't too strong. Thank you for the meal.

The place is quietly standing at the foot of the Skytree in a residential area, so it may be hard to find. There were about 5 counter seats inside the shop, but this time I had a takeout of iced coffee. They carefully extracted it and the taste was very delicious. There are also multiple types of coffee beans, and they will make it according to your preference. I'm not very knowledgeable about coffee, so I didn't have any specific requests and had them make a recommendation, but it was easy to drink and good.

It's a coffee specialty shop located in Oshiage! Along Tower View Street, in the middle of a narrow path in a residential area, a shop that looks like a renovated private house appeared. There were only a few seats at the counter, and since there was no one there, I decided to go in. When asked about my preference, I said I like lightly roasted coffee with no bitterness and a hint of acidity. They selected a coffee for me based on that. After choosing the beans, they started the extraction process, so it took some time for the coffee to be served. As for the taste... At first, I felt a slight bitterness, but as I got used to it, it wasn't bitter at all. It wasn't too acidic either, just a subtle hint, making it easy to drink. After finishing my coffee, the owner asked for my feedback, so I took the opportunity to ask about the various coffee beans lined up behind. I was particularly interested in the coffee beans from Thailand, and we had a lively conversation about it. When some customers arrived, I left the shop quickly as it was small. The price was listed as 800 yen for 100g (excluding tax), so I wondered how much one cup would cost, and it turned out to be 600 yen (including tax). Next time, I would like to try the Thai beans that we talked about. They accept PayPay as payment.

Coffee specialty shop in a residential area near Oshiage Station. There are only 4 seats at the counter, and takeout is available. The interior is decorated with a variety of beans and tea leaves, which you can choose from when placing your order. I chose the "Wamachi Blend" for 600 yen. The owner carefully hand dripped the coffee, which had a refreshing and mild taste, very easy to drink. I would like to try the Shigebu Blend next time. It's a 4-minute walk from Oshiage Station.

I visited for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. I happened to come across this place while taking a walk, and it seems like the owner is well-known in the coffee world. According to their website, they offer slow-roasted coffee where they suggest coffee based on the customer's preferences. I ordered what was probably their signature item, the Shigeno coffee. I'm not very knowledgeable about coffee, but it was easy to drink yet had a depth of flavor. They also offer coffee tasting. I also ordered the daily original sweets, the chocolate cheesecake made in the shop. I was surprised by the quality of the sweets and the reasonable prices. The shop only has a counter with 6 seats, but I think it's worth a try when you're in the area, like when visiting the Skytree. I definitely want to visit again.

I visited a lovely coffee shop that is loved by relaxed customers for the first time. I found it in a book called "Coffee School." It's about a 10-minute walk from Kinshicho Station. It's a house that you can find by turning off the main road before going to Tokyo Skytree. The shop is on the first floor here. I visited in the late morning around 11 o'clock. There were already regular customers, a family, coming to buy coffee beans. I nervously entered for the first time. The counter has a few seats, and if it weren't for COVID, it would be full. The girl next to me was happily eating homemade pudding. I decided to try a coffee tasting and the homemade pudding as well. The owner was kind and considerate even with regular customers around. There was a roasting machine or something similar in the back of the counter. I don't know much about coffee, but I have a desire to learn, so I asked the owner for a recommendation. I was recommended the Shigeno Blend, and also a coffee with a wine-like aroma. Ah, the feeling of happiness, like being in an authentic bar I love. Even though it was daytime and not alcohol, I felt happy. Just inhaling the coffee's fragrant and gentle aroma made me happy. Oh, happiness. Many customers near Skytree are for takeout, but they all greet the owner with a "hello" and order while mentioning their dislike for sour flavors. It's a shop that is truly loved by customers. The owner's voice is gentle and soft, perfectly matching the coffee shop atmosphere, making it a comfortable place to be. The homemade pudding goes perfectly with black coffee, adding a delightful taste and happiness. I will visit again to learn more about coffee.

Saturday, May 2021. Visited at 10:30. This small coffee shop, which opened in June 2013, has a clean and simple interior, creating a surprisingly calm atmosphere. Perhaps it's due to the kind personality of the owner? Located not on the main street, it feels like discovering a hidden gem or a secret spot. The owner has a gentle and kind demeanor, but is also a coffee professional who even holds coffee classes! You can purchase coffee beans here, as well as enjoy a drink or two. Inside, there are about 4-5 counter seats, and outside, there are chairs and tables where you can even enjoy tea with your dog! Checking their website, it seems they even offer homemade sweets. *From April 29th to May 9th, dine-in is suspended, only shopping and takeout are allowed. Since this visit is for takeout, it's not a problem. ****************************** [Takeout Menu] - Coffee 400 yen - Iced Coffee 500 yen - Black Tea 400 yen - Cafe au Lait (hot or cold) 400 yen - Iced Matcha Latte (with vanilla ice cream) 600 yen ****************************** __________________________ [Tasting] Takeout ● Cafe au Lait Hot 400 yen (tax included) The quantity is about 200cc to 250cc. This Cafe au Lait has a very milky taste. You can hardly taste the bitterness, so even those who don't like coffee might enjoy it. I like sweet Cafe au Lait, but this one has a perfect balance of milk richness and coffee depth, so I enjoyed it without sugar until the end. To think you can get such a delicious Cafe au Lait for 400 yen, it's truly a bargain. Cafe au Lait is made by adding milk to drip coffee, using lightly roasted beans, so the bitterness is minimal. The ratio of drip coffee to milk is 1:1. __________________________ Reading reviews from others, it seems the owner here provides coffee tailored to the customer's preferences, so I look forward to going back next time to savor the coffee. Their regular holiday is only on Wednesdays, but if you're unsure, please check the schedule on their website before visiting.

A cozy café with a hidden atmosphere on a small street, where the pleasant smell of coffee drifts. The layout includes a small counter seat. It's enjoyable to choose the blend beans from the shelf and try them. I decided to try the "Shigen Blend" at this café. It's a strong coffee with a bold bitterness, which I personally like. Check out my blog for more details.

A few minutes' walk from the base of the Skytree, nestled in a residential area, is a small coffee shop with shelves lined with jars of coffee beans as you enter through a small door. On the opposite side, there are counter seats. I had heard about this place from a Madame at "Heikinritsu" in Gakugeidaigaku. She mentioned that someone who used to work at "Heikinritsu" was now running a delicious coffee shop in Oshiage, so I decided to check it out. When I mentioned this to the owner, he said he used to be a regular customer at "Heikinritsu" when it was in Harajuku. It turns out, I may have misunderstood what the Madame said. Nonetheless, this sparked a lively conversation. The owner opened his first coffee shop in Hirai in 1999 and has been here for 7 years. He is very passionate about coffee. I described my preferences, and he recommended the Shigeno blend, which is the closest to what I like. It is a blend of Mandheling for bitterness and sweetness, and Brazil for sweetness and bitterness, each representing different roasting styles. It was a rich and full-bodied blend served in a stylish cup with a lattice design. They offer three types of sweets that change daily, and I decided to try the egg pudding for 450 yen. It was firm and classic, served with whipped cream, and paired well with the coffee. Lastly, the owner showed me something interesting - "Beauty Coffee" rich in chlorogenic acid and niacin, known for its benefits such as skin hydration, anti-aging, and postprandial blood sugar control. This piqued my interest, as I have heard similar things from coffee experts and professors researching coffee beans at universities. I look forward to trying this on my next visit. The conversation with the owner made the visit very enjoyable.

Hello. This is the president. This time, I would like to introduce a coffee shop as part of my report on my trip to Tokyo. I stayed in Minami-Senju and decided to explore the local coffee shops. One recommended place I visited was Shigeno Coffee Workshop. It is located about a 10-minute walk from the base of Tokyo Skytree. It is a residential and shop combination. The shop has only 4-5 counter seats, with a roasting machine placed at the back. Roasted coffee beans are displayed behind the counter, and you can choose the beans you want to drink. I ordered the Brazil Bourbon Peaberry for 500 yen, roasted to a medium-dark level. While chatting about various coffee topics, they brewed it using a hand drip method. The coffee was rich with a full-bodied sweetness. Peaberry is a unique type of coffee bean where there is only one seed in the fruit, resulting in a round shape. It is a rare type of coffee bean, making the experience of enjoying it in a leisurely atmosphere at a coffee shop like this even more special. Thank you for the meal.

On a Sunday evening, while riding my bike near Oshiage, I stumbled upon a place that seemed like a residential home with a coffee flag. Curious, I approached and saw a sign at the entrance that read "Shigeno Coffee Workshop". Intrigued, I decided to go in. Inside, there were two customers already seated, and more people kept coming in. Perhaps this place is famous? I sat at the counter and looked at the menu, where the owner mentioned that he would brew coffee according to my preference. Since I hadn't had a strong bitter coffee in a while, I asked for something bitter with a strong flavor. The owner brewed me a cup using their own blend called "Shigeno Blend". The coffee arrived smelling wonderful. When I took a sip, it wasn't too bitter at first, but the bitterness came through later. However, it had a great flavor profile with a good balance of richness and acidity, which I really enjoyed. I leisurely savored the coffee and left feeling satisfied. Despite just one cup, I felt strangely content and ready to face work tomorrow. Thank you for the delicious coffee.

I visited the cafe recommended by the master, who I am grateful to. I was planning to buy beans only, but decided to enjoy coffee and sweets as well. Each cup was carefully brewed and watching the process was very soothing. I had decaf and my husband had the recommended Shigeno blend. Even the decaf had a satisfying taste. According to my husband, the Shigeno blend goes perfectly with sweets. The bitterness of the coffee complemented the sweetness of the dessert. The master used to run a shop in Hirai. It was my first visit, but he kindly and thoroughly taught me about storing coffee beans. His serious yet friendly personality was evident. It's understandable why so many people visit here to meet such a master. In less than 30 minutes, I was fully recharged.

I went to Oshiage, so I decided to visit Shigeno Coffee Factory. I found out about Shigeno Coffee Factory through my connection with Cafe Sakura in Hirai. The first time I visited the shop, I happened to see the sign. The second time, I tried to follow my memory but got lost (lol). This time, I was able to find it easily, which was great.

I took a nice walk and went shopping on the way back. Feeling tired, I thought about getting some coffee at a convenience store, but then I saw the sign for Shigeno Coffee Factory and decided to stop by. They offer coffee starting from 500 yen and you can choose your favorite coffee beans. There were many types on the shelf, but I asked for the Shigeno blend that I had seen in a magazine before. The balance of bitterness and temperature was excellent! I thought to myself, "Wow, this is delicious!" as I enjoyed it.

They have been in business for 24 years (individually) and are knowledgeable about the industry. We did a taste comparison of delicious coffees. They also have a roasting machine. I wanted to try their sweets too, but unfortunately couldn't.
