We had a variety of dishes including a sesame tofu appetizer, fruit and mascarpone, seared mackerel, sea urchin compote, tempura, foil-baked yellowtail, and grilled fish with sansho pepper oil. The sesame tofu appetizer had a crispy outer layer and a creamy inside, complemented well by the wasabi flavor. The fruit and mascarpone dish was a perfect combination of sweet fruit and salty mascarpone. The seared mackerel was delicious with just salt and sesame oil. The sea urchin compote had layers of sweet potato puree, yuba, dashi jelly, and sea urchin, creating a complex yet harmonious flavor. The tempura with wakasagi and mushrooms was crispy and tasty. The foil-baked yellowtail was generously topped with red cheddar cheese, giving it a slightly indulgent feel. The grilled fish with sansho pepper oil had a strong aroma of sansho pepper and a unique flavor reminiscent of takoyaki-flavored Umaibo. Overall, each dish showcased the deliciousness of seasonal ingredients.

This is a shop that offers ingredients from Yamagata ⭐︎ (the owner is said to be from Yamagata!) I had been wanting to try it for a while but it was difficult to get a reservation... I finally got to use it for a business dinner! I was impressed by the sesame tofu served throughout the course (^^) (It seems to be affiliated with someone who trained at "Uchiyama"!) The other dishes, such as Zao beef cutlet and Gout Don, were all delicious ♪ I also had about 5-6 drinks, and it cost around 15,000 yen per person, so the cost performance was great ◎ I would love to use it again in the future! ^ - ^

I visited with a friend. We had a late reservation, so we used it as a second party. We sat at the counter seats together. Since it was a Kudo group, we had roasted sesame tofu as a complimentary dish. We each had a glass of white wine. At the table, there was a group of four salarymen who were a bit noisy. This was unexpected. The dishes we received were as follows:
- Roasted sesame tofu (complimentary), with wasabi.
- Foie gras sandwich (with pickled radish and pickled plum)
- Corn mousse with sea urchin and jelly on top
- Crab cream croquette
- "Jikumi" curry (curry with shrimp broth on freshly cooked rice)
All were a la carte. It was nice to be able to have as much as we liked. Each dish was served with two pieces, so we shared them. The curry was also divided into two plates for us. The crab cream croquette was impressive because it was mostly filled with crab.

I visited Ginza Tokihami, a restaurant that offers seasonal menus in East Ginza. Located in a mixed-use building in Ginza, as soon as you open the door, you are greeted with a traditional Japanese restaurant setting. The prices are a bit high, but they use high-quality ingredients and prepare dishes with great care. I only stopped by for a short visit as it was my second stop of the night, but I definitely want to go back to enjoy a full meal there.

This restaurant in Higashi Ginza is known for its creative cuisine using high-quality ingredients, whether it's kaiseki, Japanese, or izakaya style. I had been wanting to try the foie gras senbei and gout rice bowl for a while. I made a reservation and visited on a weekday night. The meal started with a sesame tofu appetizer with sesame sauce and wasabi, a specialty of the restaurant group, and it was delicious. Then, I ordered: - Foie gras senbei, which you bite into with your hands. Inside, there is foie gras and pickled vegetables. The crispy senbei with rich foie gras and salty pickles is a perfect combination. - Assorted sashimi, bonito tataki, seared Spanish mackerel, and horse sashimi. They were tasty, but since there was no raw fish, it didn't feel like eating sashimi. - Crab cream croquette, another specialty. It's filled with crab meat and very delicious. - Grilled sea bass with asparagus and cheese in foil. The asparagus was quite thick. - Gout rice bowl with salmon roe, sea urchin, bottarga, and caviar. It was a satisfying dish with plenty of my personal favorites. I also had dessert and there was a good selection of sake and other drinks. The dishes were elegantly presented, and the atmosphere was casual like an izakaya, making it a comfortable place to dine. Considering the quality of ingredients and location, this restaurant offers good value for money, and I would love to visit again if it were closer.

Located on the second floor of an old mixed-use building down a narrow alley from Higashi-Ginza Station. The atmosphere of the building was even older than expected, but once inside the small and tidy counter seats, it was a pleasant surprise. The complimentary sesame tofu was familiar, and I learned that it was affiliated with "Tokuchiyama." I started with a highball (Glenmorangie 10-year) and chose a variety of small dishes. The specialty foie gras sandwich platter (spring trout, marinated mackerel, Kumamoto horse sashimi) can be enjoyed with seaweed soy sauce, sesame oil, and coarse salt. For the second round, I had a rosé wine (Brewer's Pinot Noir) with deep-fried shrimp and yam. The food was impeccable. However, it was disappointing that there wasn't a staff member to promote the drinks that complemented the delicious dishes. Looking forward to the next visit.

The shop seems to have a strong emphasis on the preferences of the staff. I was satisfied with all the dishes I tried. This is a good place to enjoy Japanese cuisine at a reasonable price. The mackerel with condiments was the most delicious dish I tried. It felt like the best mackerel market. Overall, it was delicious and I enjoyed the flavors, but it did feel a bit rich.

I use it for dinner on weekdays. The building where the restaurant is located is quite old, but the interior is modern and has a calm atmosphere. The wine menu is extensive and the prices for bottles are reasonable. The dishes are original and have a good sense of taste. And they go perfectly with wine. I found a really good restaurant. Overall personal rating: 4 - Highly likely to revisit.

Located a 3-minute walk from Higashi-Ginza Station, on the 2nd floor of the Suzuki Building in Ginza 3-chome, is "Tokigumi". This popular restaurant, opened in 2019, offers casual dining of Japanese cuisine and is affiliated with renowned Japanese restaurants such as "Ginza Kudou" and "Sushi Tokuchi Yamashita". It has been selected as a Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide and as one of the Top 100 Japanese Cuisine Restaurants on Tabelog. The modern interior features both counter and table seating. The menu, which does not offer set courses but allows customers to order a variety of high-quality dishes a la carte, is reminiscent of the style of Juhachi Ban Ukyo. I would love to visit again and enjoy the leisurely dining experience. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant "Tokigumi" in Tokyo, which is ranked as one of the top 100 Japanese restaurants in 2023 (85th out of 100). Located behind the Kabuki-za theater in Higashi-Ginza, the restaurant is not easily noticeable from the outside. You have to open the door and go up the stairs to reach the 2nd floor. The interior is surprisingly beautiful, with a small and cozy feel, offering counter and table seating. This restaurant is affiliated with the renowned Tokutaniyama restaurant, known for its high-quality Japanese cuisine. Instead of set courses, you can choose dishes a la carte. The menu includes sesame tofu, foie gras senbei, a sashimi platter, grilled bamboo shoots with sansho pepper, crab cream croquettes, Iberico pork shoulder loin with truffle salt, rice cooked in a clay pot with rich shrimp curry, and black sugar pudding for dessert. This is a great restaurant where you can enjoy Tokutaniyama's dishes a la carte, like a high-end izakaya. The dishes like sesame tofu and crab cream croquettes are delicious as expected. It's a perfect place to casually have a drink with colleagues or friends. A hidden gem, indeed.

Nice to meet you again, Jikumi-san. Cheers with the reliable Gazelli♪ Followed by the classic sesame tofu for a comforting start. Trying out some new dishes this time. A voluminous salad for a healthy option♪ The bitterness of watercress goes well with beer. Finally tried the uni and yuba dish that I've been curious about. It was delicious...♡ The creamy edamame puree with jelly and sea urchin, sparkling and delicious! Time to switch to wine! I think this place really puts effort into their wine selection, so I left it to the waitress to choose for me. Laughing sweetfish LOVE~♡ Not tempura but fry? Swimmingly fresh and delicious. Squeezing some lemon over it with wine♪ It felt a bit wasteful, but the sauce without mustard was dangerously delicious. Ending with some meat~! Delicious as always, but personally, I think it goes even better with gout-friendly rice. For those visiting for the first time, I highly recommend the gout-friendly rice! Also, I'm curious about the mentaiko soba for those who love soba and fish roe! Don't forget to try the unforgettable crab cream croquette!! I rated the previous visit higher (it varies a lot depending on the menu chosen..) Congratulations on being selected as one of the top 100 restaurants in 2023! Reservations are a must for early hours☝︎*˖ I love Ginza♡

I visited "Toki Kumi" in Higashi-Ginza, a traditional Japanese cuisine restaurant that has also been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand. I made a reservation over the phone before arriving. The restaurant is located in an old building, so it may be a bit difficult to find at first, but once you enter and go up the stairs, you will find the restaurant. I was seated at the counter this time. The staff were very friendly and took my order. The sesame tofu appetizer was delicious and set the bar high for the meal. I ordered a few dishes that caught my eye, including the signature foie gras sandwich, hot crab cream croquette, seared saury with condiments, fried blowfish, simmered fish head, and the indulgent rice bowl topped with sea urchin, mullet roe, salmon roe, and caviar. Each dish was well-presented and delicious, with a good balance of traditional and creative elements. The food paired well with drinks and left me feeling satisfied. The restaurant is versatile and suitable for various occasions like business meetings, gatherings with friends, or dates. I paid with a credit card and found the prices reasonable considering the quality. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience and I look forward to returning.

I made a reservation about a week ago at an izakaya that was recommended by the Bib Gourmand. I arrived at 5:45 pm. It seemed like reservations were filling up quickly, especially during the early hours. The sashimi platter that came with nori soy sauce was delicious, especially the seared mackerel. The crispy texture of the red snapper scale tempura was wonderful, and the bacon and truffle rice dish I had as a finale was quite tasty! The wine was also well-paired with the Japanese dishes, making for a lovely dining experience. The flavors were not overpowering, making it easy for me to enjoy the meal. Since it's a small restaurant, it's best to place your order early if you want to eat promptly!

This time, I visited "Tokigumi" in Higashi Ginza. I was aware that it was one of the top 100 Japanese restaurants on Tabelog, but I found out that it is also recognized by the Michelin Bib Gourmand. Reservations seem relatively easy to get, especially for late time slots like starting at 8:30 pm. The restaurant is located in an area with a variety of restaurants, from izakayas to Italian and sushi places. Although the entrance may be hard to find at first, once inside, the atmosphere is elegant and sophisticated. I had already had a few drinks at other places before arriving, so I was quite tipsy, but I decided to order a variety of dishes. The total for two people was ¥23,000 including tax. We had appetizers, including grilled sesame tofu and foie gras in a monaka shell, as well as Kumamoto horse sashimi and red cheddar cheese. We also tried the fried tiger pufferfish with scallops, asparagus, and spring mushrooms, as well as the freshly cooked "gout rice" with scallops. For drinks, we had a selection of beers, highballs, white wine, and whiskey. Despite being a bit too drunk to fully appreciate the food, I was impressed by the high quality of the dishes and drinks. I would definitely like to come back when I'm more sober. Thank you for the great meal.

Located just around the corner from Higashi-Ginza Station, it only takes about 10 minutes to walk from Ginza Station. This area is filled with restaurants and has a lot of foot traffic. Our restaurant is on the second floor, up a flight of stairs. It's a small space with only counter seats and a couple of small tables, so it's constantly busy with customers coming and going. It may not be the best place for those looking to relax and enjoy a leisurely meal. We ordered the following dishes: - Kumamoto horse sashimi: 2800 yen - Deep-fried shrimp: 2000 yen - Amadai fish scales tempura: 2800 yen - Beef tendon simmered in white miso: 1400 yen - Zao beef cutlet: 3200 yen All the dishes were carefully prepared and delicious, except for the Zao beef cutlet which was disappointing. The meat quality was clearly poor and the portion was small. Unfortunately, there was also a mistake in the bill. The amount we were asked to pay seemed higher than it should have been, but we were already feeling frustrated so we just paid without saying anything. The receipt only showed the total amount, so future visitors should be cautious to avoid being overcharged.

Located within walking distance from Higashi-Ginza Station. There are counter seats and table seats available. I mentioned it was my first time there, and the staff recommended dishes like the classic crab cream croquette. Everything was stylish and delicious, but the portions were small and the prices were high. The menu is not extensive, with only one chef and two staff members, it's understandable. The quality of the food is outstanding, making it suitable for both private dining and casual business meetings. Since I was already full, I decided not to order the final dish to finish the meal.

It was not bothersome at all, and the owner was very friendly and welcoming. The food was stylish yet had a sense of cherishing the good old days, making it delicious. This was my third visit, so I definitely want to go again next time with an empty stomach.

A popular izakaya in Ginza East. The menu offers many clever dishes and a good selection of wines. The interior is relatively small but cozy, making it understandable why it is popular. Overall, it seems like a place where women can also enjoy themselves.

I visited "Tokigomi," a restaurant located in Ginza, a town lined with fashionable brand stores. It is about a 5-minute walk from Higashi-Ginza Station on the Toei Asakusa Line and Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line. Yurakucho Line Ginza-itchome Station is also within walking distance. It is located near the Kabuki-za theater on the 2nd floor of the Suzuki Building. At the entrance, there is a blackboard sign. As you climb the stairs, you are greeted by an old warehouse door. The interior of the restaurant is a calm space where you can feel the warmth of wood. The lighting above each table exudes a Showa-era atmosphere. It is a hidden gem opened by Junya Kudo in April 2019. You can enjoy wine and Japanese cuisine here. Here are the dishes we had today:
- Grilled sesame tofu
- Specialty Foie Gras Monaka: Foie gras with a rich flavor sandwiched in the monaka shell, a specialty of Tokigomi.
- Crab cream croquette: I like the crispy sound when you first bite into it. It is a hot croquette with plenty of crab inside.
- Tiger puffer fish tempura
- Nagaimo (Chinese yam) with butter soy sauce and Parmesan
- Freshly cooked white rice topped with ikura (salmon roe), karasumi (bottarga), sea urchin, and caviar: A luxurious harmony in a bowl.
- Tokuchiyama Group's specialty black sugar pudding
Despite being in a prime location in Ginza, the prices are reasonable. We enjoyed the taste of a top-class traditional Japanese restaurant. I definitely want to visit again. Thank you for the meal.
