After visiting the dentist, I decided to search for a place to eat on Eat Log while passing through Takadanobaba. My son wanted to eat meat, so I searched for a butcher, found one, but it was a teppanyaki restaurant. Despite the high prices, I was tempted to try it, so I went with my family to this restaurant. It's about a 10-minute walk from Takadanobaba, along Meiji Street. I used to drive on this road a lot in my 20s, so it brings back memories. Back then, there was a good taste source, and I often ate there at night. That was almost 20 years ago, but the staff here is friendly and very nice. It's a family-friendly restaurant, so it's okay to bring kids. We started with an appetizer assortment and some beer. The dishes vary by day, but the konjac was delicious. The Caesar salad with aged Parmesan cheese using Oku-Kuji eggs was a typical salad. The grilled vegetables with Sakura vegetables were incredibly delicious. The Hanakkori was delicious, and it seemed to be made with vegetables from Yamaguchi Prefecture. The Foie Gras with sautéed apples was amazing. The Foie Gras's rich flavor was washed away by the refreshing taste of the apples, leaving only the umami. It was delicious!! The garlic oil-grilled water octopus had the perfect garlic seasoning and was very tasty. The grilled chicken and Japanese tsukune with white miso sauce were great. The white miso sauce paired really well. The Tokyo Chijimi was different from okonomiyaki, so it was light and good for a break in between dishes. The sesame oil-grilled "Nama-fu" was also very delicious. The raw wheat gluten and sesame oil matched perfectly. The grilled Oo-Ise lobster was bound to be delicious. I was getting drunk, so I splurged on it. The carefully selected "Black Wagyu A5" sirloin steak and lamp steak were the perfect meaty finish. The sirloin was delicious, but a bit greasy for someone in their 40s... The lamp steak allows you to eat more. The sirloin was good with just two slices. If you're looking for a recommended teppanyaki restaurant in Tokyo, I will definitely recommend this place. The quality of the food is higher than the price. In Ginza or at a hotel, it would cost double, right? This restaurant was like that. (Not all restaurants in Ginza are like that...) Teppanyaki restaurants can be intimidating for families, but this place warmly welcomed us. The first floor has a counter, and the second floor has tatami seating. We chose the second floor. There was another family next to us. I would like to try dining at the counter next time. I will definitely come back.

I visited this restaurant for a welcome and farewell party. We usually use the second floor, which is a private space for around 10 people and very convenient. The seating is in a cozy sunken kotatsu style where you can relax by taking off your shoes. The food was delicious as always, although the dishes were slightly different this time. I forgot to take a photo, but they also serve garlic rice. The young staff members were polite and provided excellent service. It was a great party. Thank you for the meal. Please note that the all-you-can-drink option does not include sake.

I used this restaurant to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. Teppanyaki is definitely best experienced at the counter, so I reserved seats at the counter. The atmosphere was stylish yet not too intimidating. The staff explained each dish in detail, making me eager to eat. The main meat dish was very tender and delicious. The quality of all the dishes, not just the main, was impeccable. The portions were quite generous overall, and I left very satisfied. The staff's smiles were lovely, making it a truly happy place. I would love to visit again.

I made a reservation about 3 days before the visit. I went on a Sunday. It was actually my first time trying teppanyaki, so I was a bit nervous. But as soon as I entered the restaurant, all the staff warmly welcomed me with a smile, which made me feel at ease. I had booked the casual course, and all the dishes were delicious and the portion sizes were just right. It was exciting to watch them cook right in front of me at the counter. Even after leaving, my companion and I kept saying how tasty everything was as we walked back home. It was a truly happy night.

I used it for a job celebration. It's about a 10-minute walk from the student-heavy Takadanobaba. A very nice two-story restaurant was visible from the outside. Inside, there were 2 chefs at the counter and about 4 staff in the hall. The service is very good with a lot of employees for the number of seats. I ordered a 9000 yen course. It was very enjoyable to watch the food being prepared at the counter seat! They served 2 appetizers, salad, a dish, seafood (shrimp, abalone), steak, garlic rice, and finally dessert and tea. It started with gentle flavors like tofu in the appetizers, then progressed to stronger flavors like shrimp, abalone, meat, and garlic rice. There is a wide selection of alcohol such as beer, shochu, sake, fruit liquor, and wine. Many people around were using it for birthdays and other special celebrations, so I think it's a safe place to use for special occasions or inviting guests. If there's another special day, I definitely want to go there again.

I wrote a review once but it disappeared, so sad 😭 I moved to Waseda and this was one of the shops I had been curious about in this area. When it's a sunny day, it's time for teppanyaki! So, I finally made my first visit ❤️ My husband made the reservation, so I didn't know the course contents, but I had the dishes in the photo below. It was late April on that day. I could tell that seasonal ingredients were carefully prepared for each dish, and I was impressed by the attention to detail. Every dish that came out was delicious ❤️ The main dishes were shrimp and meat. The shrimp had a crispy and fragrant exterior, and when you bite into it, the sweetness and umami spread throughout your mouth, it was truly delicious ❤️ The meat was very tender, without any toughness, and it was served in the best possible condition. The garlic rice also lived up to expectations with its flavor. Among teppanyaki restaurants, this place is reasonably priced and offers great value, I think it's a wonderful restaurant ❤️ The appetizers change with the season, so I would like to visit again on a different special day in a different season ❤️

I was on a plane to America and had some time to spare, so I decided to try out a restaurant that I had been curious about but hadn't had the chance to visit before - Teppanyaki SAKURA. Teppanyaki is not something you can easily find, so I made a reservation and finally went. I ordered the course with sirloin and Ise lobster for 12,000 yen. It may seem expensive, but if you were to eat these separately at other places, it would cost even more. I also added abalone to my order. The dishes, from the appetizers to the main course, were meticulously prepared and of high quality. The sirloin, although I can't remember the brand, was juicy and full of flavor with each bite, without being tough. While I'm sure you can find higher quality if you pay more at other restaurants, for the price and quality near my home, it was more than satisfactory.

(With 2 people) Casual course (7 dishes) + 1 bottle of red wine for 23,140 yen. We finally tried out this highly rated teppanyaki restaurant that we had been curious about. We sat in the second-floor tatami room and enjoyed the 7 dishes that were served at a good pace, making our visit last about 2 hours. The course focused on domestic ingredients. The most delicious dish was the main lamb steak, but the shrimp that came before it was also amazing! The anchovy and black olive sauce enhanced the aroma and it was wonderful. We left feeling satisfied.

I visited the restaurant after a long time and made a reservation for my child's birthday. Today it was fully booked. It seems like the new coronavirus is not a concern here. I reserved a counter seat, which allows me to watch the cooking process up close. It's a delightful performance to watch. The chef is like a magician on the teppan. This is definitely one of Japan's representative cuisines. Today's course included a delicious soup with grilled daikon, four appetizers that were all excellent, a healthy salad with oil-free dressing, a tasty rillette, angel prawns that you can eat whole, tender abalone, juicy lamp meat, flavorful garlic rice, and refreshing sherbet. For drinks, we started with sparkling wine, then moved on to Georgian orange wine which paired well with the rillette. The bitterness of the orange wine complemented the dish nicely. Before the meat, we switched to Bulgarian red wine (based on Shiraz) which had a lovely aroma and paired perfectly with the meat. The meat was lamp with wasabi, yuzu pepper, shichimi, and salt on the side. I enjoyed it with wasabi and yuzu pepper, and the red wine helped cleanse the palate. The aroma filled my mouth and washed away the greasiness. Finally, the sherbet refreshed my palate. I look forward to trying the spiny lobster next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Dinner on a regular day. Sakura Standard Course. I sat at the counter seat. Everything I ate was delicious. I wonder how many dishes came out. Plenty of vegetables were served. There were explanations for the order and how to eat each dish, so even as a novice, I could enjoy it without stress. It's a really nice restaurant.

Casual course 6600 yen, 2 beers, 2 red wines, 1 highball, daikon soup, assorted appetizers, salad, fried angel prawns, garlic rice, gelato. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and the service was good. The fried prawns were delicious! However, I was disappointed that I chose the meat selection course but was served pork without any choice. It was tough, not tasty, and oily. I wanted to eat something other than beef for the teppanyaki.

It was very delicious! Especially, the foie gras and baked apple were very tasty. One disappointing thing was that there was a bit of a wait between courses, probably because it was busy during Christmas. It seemed unavoidable due to being busy, but the group that came after us actually had their food served at a better pace, so I was a bit envious haha.

When I heard about teppanyaki, I had a formal image in mind, but Teppanyaki Sakura is a casual place where you can go in regular clothes and the prices are not too high, making it easy for everyday use! I made a reservation for the 12,300 yen course. The teppanyaki of the large Ise lobster was especially delicious! It was cut into large pieces so you could take a big bite and it was a satisfying dish. The carefully selected "A5 grade black wagyu" sirloin steak (around 100g) was also easy to eat, with a smooth texture that went down easily. I also had a few glasses of Kenzo Estate rosé wine and red wine.

I used it for a family birthday. I thought it would be difficult to visit a teppanyaki restaurant with children, but this place was welcoming for families. We had a course meal, and each dish was carefully seasoned, keeping us excited throughout the meal without getting bored.

We visited this restaurant for our 2nd anniversary. They serve teppanyaki with delicious meat, lobster, and vegetables. We decided to celebrate our anniversary here after experiencing the amazing taste during our previous visit. The chef's warm atmosphere and meticulous work can be seen from the counter seats facing the teppan. The lobster was cooked perfectly and the sirloin, cooked slowly and carefully, was truly exquisite. It's hard to believe that such a high-quality course meal costs just over ten thousand yen.

A teppanyaki restaurant near Babaguchi intersection. It's a hidden gem with a location that may make you wonder why it's there. When you enter, you can see the teppan grill right in front of you. I sat at the counter seats and ordered the popular Sakura special course with all-you-can-drink option. Watching the dishes being cooked right in front of me was fascinating. The staff explained each dish carefully. Everything was delicious and satisfying. There were couples at the counter seats and families at the tables, making it suitable for various occasions. There are also private rooms on the second floor, making it great for large groups or business entertaining.

We used Sakura for a company project launch. We found Sakura while looking for a good restaurant near Takadanobaba, our stop on the way home from work. There were four of us, all men, and we enjoyed the Sakura special course. From the appetizers to the dessert, everyone was satisfied and went home happy. Next time, I would like to try dining at the counter on the first floor. I think it would be even more delicious with a 30% increase in taste.

Located along Meiji Street, this restaurant is situated next to the police station and the closed Anrakutei. As soon as you enter the restaurant, you will find a spacious counter and table seating. The interior is quite narrow, with a second floor as well. I was seated at the counter, which was a great spot right in front. This time, I opted for the course with a focus on meat, with two types of meat included. I started with a beer (Premium Malt), which was good but not my favorite, so I only had one. The highball was made with Jim Beam, so I skipped it. The dishes included fried taro root, chicken breast, homemade sesame tofu, rich konjac miso, potato salad, and a salad with bonito flakes. The grilled dishes included two types of meat and grilled vegetables. The angel prawns were delicious, and the soft shell crab was average. The main meat dishes were two types of domestic beef: lamp from Gunma Prefecture and sirloin from Ibaraki Prefecture. The lamp was light and flavorful, with a nice touch of oil from grilling. The sirloin was rich in fat and flavor, but a bit too oily for my taste. The garlic rice (without ingredients) that I shared with my companion was nicely grilled and fluffy. For dessert, I had hojicha ice cream, which was refreshing. Overall, the grilled vegetables stood out as the most delicious dish. Teppanyaki restaurants tend to use a lot of oil, which was a bit overwhelming for me, but it might suit younger diners better. The location was great, allowing us to enjoy our meal while watching the surroundings. The service was a bit lacking, with no towel replacements or tea served during dessert, which was disappointing given the price range of the restaurant. However, considering it is a casual place where locals can easily dine, it might still be worth a visit.

It's a small shop but it has two floors. It's a bit of a walk from Takadanobaba Station, but it's just right for a little exercise before eating. They explained the alcohol and dishes in a polite manner. I thought there would be more red wine since it's a meat dish, but they also had a good selection of sake which I enjoyed. They also explained the wines in detail, but personally, I'm not a drinker so I didn't try it (lol). We ordered a course meal, but you can also order dishes from the menu and we left feeling full. The dishes were both visually appealing and delicious. This time we sat on the second floor, but I would like to try sitting at the counter and watching them cook someday.

This time it's teppanyaki. When it comes to teppanyaki, the price naturally goes up, but at this restaurant, not only the taste of the food, but also the carefully selected ingredients and the skills of the chef make it worth the price. It may not be cheap, but the satisfaction you get at this restaurant is quite high. It was even listed in the Michelin Guide, so my expectations were high even before going. The location is a bit of a walk from Takadanobaba Station. The crowds were intense, especially at this time of year. Make sure to wear a mask. It's about a 10-minute walk from the Waseda exit of the station. The restaurant has a cozy and sophisticated atmosphere, with warm indirect lighting inside. We were seated at a table on the first floor. The counter seats where you can watch the teppanyaki were fully booked. You definitely need to make a reservation in advance. We had the 9800 yen course. Here's a rough outline of the courses we had: - Two starters: boiled greens and chicken breast - Five appetizers: potato salad, red konjac with vinegar miso, grilled tofu, meat sauce on bread, carrot tofu, and more. Each dish was so creatively prepared and unique that it was a feast for the senses. The attention to detail in each dish was truly impressive. - Dashi soup salad: The amount of salad served was quite generous for one person. The lettuce was infused with the aroma and flavor of dashi, and it was delicious. The abundance of bonito flakes added a special touch that made it unique to this restaurant. - Main dishes: - Teppanyaki of large Ise lobster: This was the highlight for me. The size of the lobster was overwhelming, and the meat was tender and juicy. It was served with a homemade sauce that paired perfectly with the lobster. The sauce was rich and flavorful, and it was a delight to savor. - A5-grade sirloin steak of Japanese black beef: The tenderness of this beef was exceptional. The wasabi complemented the steak perfectly. The difference between this Japanese black beef and other steaks was truly remarkable. It was juicy and not heavy at all. You could eat this beef endlessly. The steak could also be changed to lean lamp meat if requested in advance, which was a nice touch. - Garlic rice: The garlic flavor in the rice was strong and satisfying, making it a perfect ending to the meal. - Dessert: We had ice cream to finish the course. The selection of drinks was extensive, ranging from shochu to whiskey, wine, and fruit liquor. There was something for everyone, and it added to the enjoyment of the meal. Personally, I enjoy whiskey, and the variety available was a pleasant surprise. I particularly like the 12-year-old Bowmore whiskey for its smoky finish with hints of honey and lemon, making it refreshing and light. I could imagine it pairing well with the beef. Overall, it was a great course. The staff explained each dish in detail, and it was a memorable dining experience.

I visited this restaurant on his birthday. I made a reservation online, and they kindly asked for specific requests (like a birthday plate and not being able to eat shrimp or shellfish) even before arriving, which made me feel welcomed. On the day of the reservation, we arrived about an hour later than the scheduled time due to his work, but they welcomed us without any complaints. The appetizer hors d'oeuvres were delicious ❤️ It was my first time eating caviar from a jar (*⁰▿⁰*) There were about 8 types of cold and hot dishes to enjoy. The meat was probably sirloin? I prefer fillet, so I was disappointed that it wasn't an option, but it was still delicious without being too oily or heavy. The only downside is that it's a bit far from the station, but overall, I was very satisfied with the service and taste of the food at this restaurant!
