Nakamuraya Honten is a shop located at the corner of the intersection of Asakusa 2-chome and Basha Street and Denboin Street, rather than at the intersection of Asakusa 2-chome. I had known for several years that you could buy bread from "Pan no Pelican" here, but the shop seemed to have changed a bit and become cleaner since my last visit. It was established in Meiji 43, and they sell a variety of rare delicacies from around the country, focusing on boiled beans, dried goods, and also homemade boiled beans, pickles, dried fish, and rare delicacies. When I visited around 2 o'clock last year, the bread from "Pan no Pelican" was already sold out. I asked about it, and apparently, it had been featured on TV that day, making it no longer a hidden gem for buying Pelican bread, and now you have to go before 2 pm to buy it. The bread is delivered twice, at 10 am and 12 pm, so you can buy it if you time it right. On this day, I arrived at 1 o'clock. The rolls were all sold out, but I bought the remaining 1.5 kg and 1 kg loaves of bread for 570 yen and 380 yen, respectively. The prices are the same as those at Pan no Pelican in Taharamachi. It seems that the rolls are quite popular and sell out in the morning. I then went to Pelican, but all the small and medium rolls were sold out. It used to be that medium rolls were often the only ones left, but the situation seems to have changed since then. By the way, there are fewer and fewer cafes and restaurants where you can eat Pan no Pelican bread. When I checked a while ago, 7 stores had closed down. I need to hurry before they all disappear.
