I visited "Gyuan," which was selected as one of the "Steak Top 100 Restaurants 2021" on Tabelog. It is located about a 5-minute walk from Ginza Station. If you go around to the back entrance of AC Hotel by Marriott Tokyo Ginza, you will find the place easily. You need to take off your shoes at the entrance before entering the restaurant. The interior has a retro Showa era feel. They have table seats, sunken kotatsu seats, and private rooms, making it suitable for both solo diners and groups. This restaurant was established in 1986, and while dinner mainly consists of course meals, the lunch menu offers high-quality dishes at reasonable prices, making it quite crowded during lunch hours. This time, I tried the "Special Kobe Beef Tajima Gyu (Tajimaguro) Lean Meat Course." Here is what it included:
- Beef simmered in soy sauce
- Marinated squid
- Grilled fatty beef sushi, roast beef, smoked beef
The "sushi" had thinly sliced but large pieces of seared meat on top of vinegared rice, which melted in the mouth with its fatty texture. The "roast beef" had a light flavor, while the "smoked beef" had a fragrant and strong taste.
- Salad
- 200g lean steak from Ueda Ranch in Hyogo Prefecture
The steak was rare towards the center, and the high-quality meat offered a flavorful experience when chewed.
- Rice
- Red miso soup
- Pickles
- Coffee
Although the portion size might be considered small for men, the quality of the meal for under 8000 yen at this location made me feel like it was a great value for money. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the specialty beef restaurant Gyuan. This popular restaurant offers very reasonably priced lunches. It is not related to the chain store Gyuan, so be careful not to confuse the two haha. Located on a street in East Ginza, it is on the basement level, but the interior is designed like an old Japanese house! You enter by taking off your shoes, giving it a homely feel. I ordered the Hamburg & Steak with salad lunch set for 2,000 yen. The lunch menu is limited in quantity, and popular items tend to sell out quickly. The popular Hamburg and steak were upgraded, and I also ordered the salad. The Hamburg was well-done, with fine ground meat but still fluffy and easy to feel each individual piece of meat. The sauce was sweet and Japanese-style, making it easy to eat. The steak was excellent! Cooked rare, it was very tender. I enjoyed the meaty flavor with a sprinkle of salt and pepper. The interior of the restaurant, designed like a traditional Japanese house, exuded a nostalgic Showa era charm. The delicious meat, along with the enjoyable atmosphere, made for a satisfying lunch experience. Thank you for the meal.

The staff are all friendly and kind, like a group of mothers in their 40s and 50s. It's important to note that you can't enter the restaurant until your whole party has arrived. The lunch menu includes several limited quantity items, as well as non-limited options, but items can sell out regardless of being limited. If you go after 1 pm, there's a high chance that items will be sold out. Orders arrive in about 10 minutes, which is convenient. I was finally able to try the Ladies Set meal, which I had missed out on before. The set includes a 100g hamburger and a 100g lunch steak, and it left me feeling very full!

I stumbled upon a restaurant while wandering around Ginza in search of lunch. The interior had a traditional Japanese house style and was very calming. I ordered sukiyaki, which was cooked on a hot plate and served with sauce on the side. It was delicious when dipped in the sauce and eaten with egg.

The fact that you can choose between steak, shabu-shabu, and sukiyaki for each of the three family members visiting for the first time seems like something foreigners would enjoy! We chose Kobe beef for the steak, and it was delicious with just the right amount of fat! Before we knew it, everyone around us except for us were foreigners.

The downside is that you have to take off your shoes each time, but the quality and taste of the meat are excellent. I ordered the tender steak for 1500 yen, 150 grams, and the meat was tender and juicy. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, so I will definitely visit again in the future.

I ordered the Sukiyaki extra portion. The volume is quite good. The service and taste are also good, and the staff is cooking at the table and serving the customers' plates. My overseas friend also visited the restaurant when they came to Japan this time. I will upload a photo.

A delicious meat restaurant near Ginza Six. The restaurant has a traditional Japanese house style interior, and guests are required to take off their shoes at the entrance. I tried the recommended Hana course for women, which included simmered beef, three types of beef appetizers (seared beef sushi, smoked beef, roast beef), black wagyu fillet or sirloin steak (100g), rice, red miso soup, pickles, dessert, and coffee for 5940 yen. It was a great deal! You can upgrade to fillet for an additional 500 yen. The simmered beef was not too greasy and very tasty. All three appetizers were delicious, especially the seared beef sushi was exquisite. I wanted to ask for seconds! The steak was cooked rare, and it was perfectly done. It came with two types of sauce and condiments like garlic chips and wasabi, making it enjoyable to change the flavor. The staff were all efficient and provided great service. I wonder if they sell that simmered beef, I would love to buy it if they do. The table next to us ordered sukiyaki, and the aroma was enticing... I decided to try sukiyaki next time.

I take off my shoes and enter the underground restaurant. It's just past lunchtime and the place is crowded with nearby office workers. The restaurant has a cozy, old-fashioned feel with hearths and sunken kotatsu tables. The friendly staff guide me to a table in the back. They keep refilling my tea, which I appreciate on this hot day. The lunch special, hamburger, is sold out, so I opt for the "Harami Steak (150g) for 1,600 yen." They offer free extra rice and an additional salad for 100 yen. The steak arrives quickly, slightly rare in the center with a tender, juicy texture. It's delicious with wasabi soy sauce. The sides include mashed potatoes, carrots, green beans, and bean sprouts under the meat. Looking back at old reviews, the price has gone up due to inflation, but it's still a satisfying lunch option for office workers. Another great meal, thank you.

It's been a while since I visited Gyuan. Recently, I noticed a lot of foreigners being drawn underground as I passed by, so I felt it must be quite crowded. I arrived at 11:30 and was surprised to see that about 70% of the seats were already taken. Nevertheless, I was able to sit at a shared table. There were many Japanese as well as foreigners, so I assume it's because of the summer vacation. I ordered the 100g Black Wagyu hamburger and the 150g steak, but I was informed by the staff that I could upgrade for an additional 200 yen. So, the total came to 1,700 yen + 200 yen. The dishes arrived on a hot iron plate shortly after. I felt they were surprisingly small, but maybe that's just me. The taste was nostalgic, with the rich flavor of the Black Wagyu hamburger and the upgraded steak, which I enjoyed with soy sauce. The rice was delicious too, and I ended up getting a second helping for an additional 150 yen. It was a nostalgic experience at Gyuan, and I was comforted by the caring female staff and their excellent service. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

It's Friday holiday lunchtime♪ I decided to recharge with some meat, so I hurriedly made my way to Higashi Ginza. At 11:30, I went downstairs and the restaurant had a traditional Japanese house setup. I took off my shoes and put them in a bag. I was seated at a table that felt like a shared space with a sunken hearth. The person behind me didn't enter in the first round, so I almost had a live concert of my stomach's growls right outside the restaurant (that was close~). I ordered the limited 20 servings of Harami steak (150g) for ¥1,600. Rice comes in a regular size for free, but I added melted butter for ¥50 for a flavor change strategy. The rice was served in a rice bowl♪ The miso soup had a light flavor, maybe made with dried bonito? It was delicious. Then, the hotplate arrived with a sizzle✨ It was obvious that this was going to be amazing! I dipped the meat in soy sauce mixed with grated wasabi, and when I took a bite... Oh my goodness! It was so tender and juicy, unlike the grilled Harami beef you usually have. I enjoyed half with the wasabi soy sauce and the other half with melted butter and a drizzle of soy sauce on top. So tasty! I finished it in under 30 minutes, which is rare for me as a slow eater. With this quality of meat, 150g for ¥1,600 is actually quite reasonable. I might come back for lunch again and try all the menu items here. Now, let's move on to the second place! Let's go!

I used it for a reception and ate a sukiyaki course. The staff cooked in front of me with care, and I felt it was worth more than the price. I was very satisfied with the portion size. The wine menu was generally reasonable, but I would be even happier if they prepared a few more luxurious options. I definitely plan to visit again.

I went to the beef specialty restaurant "Gyuan" for lunch, recommended by my boss at work. When I arrived at the restaurant around 12 pm on a weekday, it was almost full. I was seated within 5 minutes. The menu offers two options: black wagyu hamburger and steak, as well as a collaboration menu. I ordered the black wagyu hamburger and service steak combo. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere with an old Japanese house design. The smell of grilled meat fills the air inside. In about 7 minutes, the hamburger and steak lunch were served on a hot plate. The hamburger and steak were juicy and delicious. The hamburger was small but packed with meaty flavor. The steak was tender, juicy, and had a nice marbling of fat. The meat and fat melted in my mouth. I enjoyed the meal with rice and miso soup. The light rice helped balance the richness of the hamburger and steak. The vegetables also complemented the meaty flavors. It was a fantastic lunch in terms of cost and taste! I would definitely like to visit again!

A meat shop in Ginza. I decided to visit because you can eat for under 2000 yen during lunchtime. I ordered a combo of steak and hamburger. They advertise Kobe beef, but it's unclear if they use it for lunch. However, the hamburger was small but meaty and delicious, and the steak was tender and tasty. It's no wonder there's always a line.

Located in the back alley of GINZA SIX, this restaurant is popular among foreign visitors, with about half of the customers being from overseas. The staff are efficient and the atmosphere of the restaurant keeps the flow going, resulting in a fairly quick turnover. While you can still relax a bit, the dishes are served promptly and customers tend to leave soon after finishing their meal. The 1000 yen hamburger set with beef stew was sold out quickly, so I opted for the 150g Kobe beef lean steak. It had just the right amount of marbling and was cooked rare by default, but you can request medium-rare. The price has increased slightly recently, but it's still a good deal for enjoying Kobe beef during lunch. If you ask the staff, you may also be able to order Chateaubriand or filet mignon from the hidden menu for lunch.

I went out for lunch. I had checked in advance and it seemed quite crowded, so I arrived at the restaurant at 11 am on Saturday. There was already a line of more than 10 people waiting on the stairs... We were just about to finish climbing the stairs, so we could feel a little breeze, it was fine, but the people in front of us, even women, were sweating quite a bit. It might be tough to wait in line during the summer. Inside, it was quite spacious, and we sat at a table for four. We ordered the hamburger for 1,000 yen and the harami steak for 1,600 yen, which we shared. The hamburger, as mentioned in other reviews, was not a juicy burger, but you could taste the deliciousness of the meat. We chose the daily sauce and the Japanese-style sauce, and went with the daily cream mustard sauce, which was delicious. The harami steak was also delicious, with tender meat. Considering it's in Ginza, the prices were reasonable. If I have the chance, I would like to go back to eat there again. When we left around 12 pm, we were surprised to see a line of over 30 people.

I went with a friend from overseas and there was also a child with us, so the staff were very kind to the child. We ordered sukiyaki, one serving of black wagyu and one serving of Kobe beef. I saw on the menu on Tabelog that there was a sukiyaki set, so I made a reservation, but it turned out that you couldn't order just sukiyaki, only the course set. Luckily, I was able to order just one serving, so I ordered a single-person course and added extra meat. It was delicious, as expected from a well-known restaurant. According to the staff, the lunch menu is also popular, so I would like to try it next time.

It's been a while since I visited Gyuan. They open at 11:30, so of course the popular Black Wagyu hamburger steak 200g for 1000 yen was sold out. I tried to dash in a few times before, but couldn't meet the ones available from 12 o'clock, so I opted for the Shiromonoladies combo. It includes a set of a 100g Black Wagyu hamburger steak and a 100g service steak. Rice refills are charged, but requesting a large portion at the beginning is free. It's a service fee, you know. The old-fashioned traditional house-style tatami seating, with the brisk movements of the ladies in triangular headscarves. The turnover is fast, and the orders come out quickly after placing them. I wonder if they stopped selling bento boxes at the store during the pandemic, as I didn't see any. For the underground shop, if you can't see the lineup on the stairs from the ground level, you might be able to enter relatively smoothly just by lining up inside the store. If there is a lineup on the stairs, I'll give up. It's fun to see new restaurants opening one after another, but visiting old ones somehow makes me feel relieved.

I found Ushian on my "someday I'll go there" list and decided to visit when I stumbled upon it while walking. I arrived around 1 pm on a weekday and was seated right away. It was the type of place where you take off your shoes and put them in a bag before sitting down, just like the izakayas I used to frequent in my student days. I really wanted to try the black wagyu hamburger, but unfortunately they were sold out of items 1 to 5 on the menu, so I went with the harami steak instead. It was incredibly tender and delicious. Eating it with wasabi was the best! I'll definitely come back for that black wagyu hamburger next time. Thank you for the meal! {Ordered Menu Item} Harami Steak 1600 yen

During my second visit, I tried the limited 10 servings of black wagyu sirloin steak set. It was so delicious that it melted in my mouth! I have a sensitive stomach and low-quality fatty meat usually upsets it, but I could tell right away that this meat was of high quality. I finished the meat in about 10 minutes because it was so tasty. The set costs a little over 3000 yen, but for a lunch deal, it feels like a luxurious treat that is worth it. Last time, I had the harami set and even though I usually don't like harami, it was so tender and delicious that I enjoyed it. Most lunch sets are in the 1000 yen range. The cost performance is so good that there is usually a line, but with many limited 10-serving menu items, you need to go early if you want to choose from all the options before they sell out. If you love meat for lunch in Ginza, this is a highly recommended place.

Arrived at GW Chukasai 3 minutes after opening time. Already a long line on the ground. Waited for 1 hour. Finally got a table. Unfortunately, they were already out of hamburg steak (the table before us could order it!). Ended up ordering sukiyaki and a double service steak. Surprisingly, the sukiyaki was delicious with amazing sauce. The meat didn't look very appetizing, but it was surprisingly tasty. The steak was very tender and overall, the quality and quantity of the meat were impressive for the price. Next time, I'll make sure to arrive before opening time and try the hamburg steak.

This is an underground shop, but the interior is spacious and clean. There is always a line in front of the shop, but I finally made it! The staff includes English speakers who provide excellent service to foreigners. The meat dishes are delicious and great value for money. And the curry is also outstanding, even better than the meat dishes! It was the most delicious curry I have ever had in my life. Absolutely amazing!
