Lookforward
Lunchtime is always crowded if you don't arrive early. I usually order the regular set meal with taro and simmered ankake sauce at Taste Sairo, but I'm a bit disappointed that the flavor has become stronger than before. In the evening, the cost performance is not great, but it is a decent Japanese restaurant in this area where the menu changes seasonally. The kitchen staff are not very friendly, but not scary. The waitresses seem like typical part-timers, they may not know much about the menu or prices, but they are friendly and not unpleasant. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and clean. You can easily hear conversations from the neighboring tables. On this day, I ordered the following:
- Salad with whitebait, tofu, and dressing for 780 yen. It was quite ordinary, but the dressing was tasty.
- Assorted sashimi with three types for half price each. The gizzard shad was delicious, but the yellowtail and mackerel had a slight fishy smell. The overall temperature was a bit warm, which was disappointing.
- Eel, taro, and daikon with yuba sauce for 980 yen. This restaurant excels in this type of dish, and it was elegant and tasty.
- Conger eel tempura for 880 yen. It had a good amount, with a fluffy inside and crispy coating. This was a good value for money.
- Grilled beef harami with onion soy sauce for 980 yen. The onion was more prominent than the beef, but the flavor was a bit blurred. The meat had a slight smell, but it was okay.
- Soba noodles for 700 yen. The thin noodles were a bit too soft this time, and I prefer soba with a higher buckwheat content and more firmness. The dipping sauce was delicious.
The bill is handwritten, so you only get a receipt with the total amount, not a detailed breakdown. They accept payment with PayPay or credit cards. The total for this meal without drinks was around 6,650 yen. While the cost performance may not be great, this restaurant is unique in the area, and I think it would be good for sake lovers. Thank you for the meal.
