I had always been curious about this shop every time I passed by. Since it was labeled as a BAR and I couldn't see inside, I was hesitant to go in. I looked it up on Tabelog before finally going in. Inside, it was small with a counter and table seating, and the counter was using a teppan? as a table (I'm not sure what it's called). I ordered a Sherry wine with soda and tonic. I forgot to take a picture, but there was a whole leg of prosciutto, and when you order prosciutto, they shave it right in front of you. It was delicious and I was impressed. I usually don't like prosciutto because it's too salty, but this one had just the right amount of salt and I wanted to have more. Despite the appearance from the outside, the inside felt like a cozy Spanish restaurant, and I would love to go back again.

Today, I had a reunion with old friends after a long time at a lovely Spanish bar called Danjo-san, where we used to frequent since the Ebisu days. Although now relocated to Chofu, the bar had a grand entrance that hinted at the promising interior. It might have been intimidating to enter alone, but as we hesitated, familiar faces arrived. We decided to go in and were greeted by a warm atmosphere. The bar had a selection of fresh ham and cheese, overseen by the friendly master, Danjo-san. The group quickly fell back into old habits, reminiscing about the past. We left the wine selection to the master and requested some unique dishes. We enjoyed the food and the ambiance, feeling like we had never left. We toasted with champagne and discussed Spanish football teams, such as Athletic Bilbao from the Basque region. The diverse dishes served reflected the different regions of Spain, including a chilled tomato soup from Andalusia, a salad from the Canary Islands, and a roast beef dish with a Basque-style sauce. The meal ended with a special clam rice dish prepared by Danjo-san for one member who couldn't eat paella. The dessert was a unique combination of firm pudding, ice cream, strawberries, and an interesting twist. The Spanish-inspired course meal, paired with wine, was a delightful experience. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

We made a reservation for 6:00 pm and when we arrived, we were the last customers and the restaurant was full. The other tables were already lively and both the chef and the server were busy. We quickly placed our order and toasted with Spanish bottled beer. The escabeche was delicious, with a rich flavor of mackerel and a good broth. The scrambled eggs had a generous amount of potatoes, typical of Spanish cuisine. Grilled sardines paired well with white wine. The beef steak with Pedro Ximenez vinegar sauce was paired with a glass of Tempranillo red wine. We enjoyed a marinated red bell pepper before the paella arrived. We took half of the paella, olives, and cheese to go. The experience at this restaurant was amazing. Items ordered: "Mahou bottled beer" (¥800 x 3), "Forlong bottle" (¥5,000), "Terroir glass" (¥770 x 3), "Mackerel escabeche" (¥900), "Scrambled eggs with zucchini" (¥800), "Grilled sardines" (¥800), "Beef steak with Pedro Ximenez vinegar sauce" (¥2,000), "Marinated red bell pepper" (¥700), "Squid ink paella M" (¥4,600), "Assorted olives" (¥700), "Assorted Spanish cheeses" (¥1,200). Total: ¥21,410.

I came with my work colleagues! It's a New Year's party, I think! ◆Atmosphere: Lively and fun with a mix of counter and table seating. ◆Ordering process: Reservations by phone, no order slips. Pay at the table, cash only. ◆Crowd: Mostly adults, it was full by 7 o'clock. ◆Stayed from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, sorry for the long time. ◆Staff: 1 person in the dining area, 1 person in the kitchen. ◆Menu: Snacks, main dishes, seasonal items. ◆No parking available. ◆Food: Cheese, grilled mushrooms, omelettes, all delicious. Particularly loved the oysters. Sangria and wine were also tasty. I plan to come back alone sometime!

Visited a family dinner at 5:30 PM. At first, we were the only ones there, but more people started arriving at 6:00 PM and soon the restaurant was full. It seems that reservations are essential. We had Iberico ham, fried Suzuki fish with vegetables, Spanish-style potato omelette, grilled mushrooms, potato salad with anchovy flavor, fried squid, grilled sardines, squid ink paella (medium size), white wine (Albariño), red wine (Tempranillo), and two servings of baguette. Every dish and wine was excellent. Sharing dishes allows you to try a variety of flavors, which is great. The service was also impeccable. Overall, it was a satisfying and filling meal.

The thick-cut prosciutto was delicious, and the mushrooms were also tasty. The bread was unlimited, and the staff frequently offered refills, which was appreciated. The entrance and interior had a foreign atmosphere, which was enjoyable. Next time, I want to order 2 servings of prosciutto, grilled pig ears, and 3.5 servings of mushrooms. Prosciutto 4, mushrooms 3.5, other dishes 3.

Farewell party! We wanted to go to a delicious restaurant, so we chose this place! We made a last-minute reservation, but luckily we got in. The food was so delicious! The other two people were here for the first time and they were happy. The squid ink paella was so tasty! Everything was delicious and we had a fun night.

Tio Danjo Bar, a Spanish restaurant in front of Chofu Station. A legendary spot that has been in business for 20 years in Ebisu and moved to Chofu 7 years ago. The chic and cool interior is like a cave tablao, raising expectations! Finally visited this famous restaurant and started with tapas for a toast. Wine, sherry, and Iberico ham are reasonably priced compared to the city center. Had seconds of Iberico ham. Love the pickled sardines (boquerones), and the mushroom teppanyaki was amazing. Can't miss the garlic shrimp. Also tried sautéed artichokes, liver paste with goat cheese and fruit tomato salad, white bean stew, and squid ink paella. Everything was perfect, no misses! Got so excited about Spanish food after a long time. Ate too much and it was delicious. The counter is spacious and they seem to adjust the portion even for solo diners, so it's recommended. Definitely going back!

Today I had work along the Keio Line, so I decided to go home via Chofu and have a drink on the way. I found a restaurant called "Tio Danjou" that I had heard of before while searching online yesterday. It used to be a popular Spanish bar in Ebisu, but now it's located in Chofu. "Danjou" means "stage" in Spanish, and the owner chef's name is Mr. Danjou, so "Danjou uncle" is the meaning of "Tio Danjou". The restaurant has 6 counter seats and 2 four-person tables, so it's a relatively compact place. I arrived around 5:20 pm, and I was able to enter until 6:15 pm. It's still a popular place, probably because it's Friday. So I decided to have a quick drink and some food. First, I had a "draft beer (medium @440 yen)". For food, I started with "pickled hikoiwashi (half @? yen)", which had a refreshing acidity that paired well with the fish. It was a good start to stimulate the stomach. For my second drink, I had a glass of white wine, "Borsao Macabeo (550 yen)". The second food item was "croquette with raw ham (250 yen)", which had a nice crispy texture and the saltiness of the ham added a great flavor. The third dish was "grilled mushrooms (660 yen)", which had a rich aroma and flavor, complemented by garlic. For my third drink, I had a glass of red wine, "Borsao Garnacha (550 yen)", which had a good balance of weight and flavor. The fourth dish was "grilled oysters (1000 yen)", which had a crispy coating and juicy oysters inside. For the closing drink, I had sherry, "Amontillado (770 yen)", which had a unique richness. I enjoyed eating and drinking all this in less than an hour. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, which explains its popularity as a great restaurant.

I couldn't help but be curious about this place. We were able to make a same-day reservation, but when we arrived, the place was already fully booked. Reservations are definitely necessary. We were seated at the counter, where colorful appetizers were displayed in front of us in the refrigerated case. The chef or master was handling everything alone, so the dishes that needed to be served quickly were prepared in advance and looked beautiful. The professionalism of the work raised our expectations. We had marinated sardines, potato salad, artichoke in garlic oil, squid ink paella, garlic shrimp, and more. The first dish, marinated sardines, was served quickly from the refrigerated case. The dish looked simple, but the mellow and elegant acidity combined with the perfect texture of the sardines made it a delightful appetizer before the meal. One of my adventurous choices was the artichoke in garlic oil. I hadn't eaten artichokes much in daily life, so I wanted to try them. The artichoke, when avoiding the tough outer parts, had a soft and fluffy inside. It had a flavor and texture similar to root vegetables or tubers. The artichoke itself didn't have a strong taste, with the garlic oil dominating the dish. This experience helped me realize that my preference for artichokes was more nuanced than I thought. While all the dishes were delicious, the standout was the squid ink paella. There were two options, "mixed" and "squid ink," and after a recommendation from the staff, we chose the squid ink paella. It takes time to prepare, but if you order it first, the chef will bring it out at the perfect moment. The squid ink paella, with each grain of rice almost jet black and glistening, exceeded our expectations. The dish didn't have the strong "sea" or "seaweed" aroma that I expected, but instead had a subtle hint of it. This allowed us to appreciate the deep richness and texture of the squid ink more fully, without any overpowering scents. The perfectly cooked rice added to the experience. This unique squid ink paella made it clear why customers keep coming back for it. This is delicious. I consider dining as an experience, so I often seek out new restaurants for new experiences. However, I am confident that I will return to this restaurant without hesitation. I believe that they will continue to surprise me with new delicious flavors.

After the state of emergency was lifted and alcohol could be served at restaurants, I made a reservation at a City Hotel for 5:30 pm as they confirmed that alcohol service would end at 8:00 pm. We enjoyed a grand movie set in a city hotel while sipping beer to celebrate. We started with the savory and sweet flavors of prosciutto, paired with a white wine that had hints of autumn fruit, and enjoyed anchovies with it. The calamari fritters were incredibly tender, followed by tempura anchovies. The restaurant owner mentioned that they were only able to operate normally for about two weeks this year. They still offer takeout if you call in advance, and they wrap the food in plastic wrap or foil for you to take home in your own bag. The pig's ears had a mild saltiness that day, so we decided to continue with more tempura dishes. We also had scrambled eggs with the flavor of cod and a marinated pepper dish. We ordered a quarter of squid ink paella to eat at the restaurant and the rest to take home. We had two Mahou beers at 770 yen each, two balanced wines at 770 yen each, six Viña del Oja wines at 770 yen each, Iberico ham for 880 yen, marinated anchovies for 880 yen, calamari fritters for 660 yen, pig's ear teppanyaki for 660 yen, salted cod scrambled eggs for 880 yen, marinated grilled peppers for 660 yen, and squid ink paella for 4,620 yen. The total bill was 16,940 yen. It was so delicious!

The legendary restaurant that was at the center of the Ebisu bar boom is now in Chofu. I went there on the way back from Ajinomoto Stadium. It was a super popular spot in Ebisu, but I thought it would be okay in Chofu, only to find that the reservation seats were quite full. It seems to be popular in Chofu as well. The interior of the restaurant has a casual Spanish bar atmosphere, but the lighting is dim and it doesn't have a rowdy atmosphere for heavy drinking. Despite being a legendary restaurant, the prices are reasonable. It's great for those who want to enjoy a quick drink and leave. You can order tapas in half sizes, which is perfect for solo drinking. First, I had the Iberico ham. It melts in your mouth with each bite. I couldn't stop eating bread and red wine. It's a must-order. I also ordered the sautéed artichokes and sautéed mushrooms, both of which are the signature dishes with olive oil and garlic. Again, I couldn't stop eating bread and wine. For those who don't drink alcohol, the flavors and saltiness might be a bit strong, but everything is delicious. I regret not being able to eat paella as I was dining alone. The Spanish wines, both red and white, are incredibly delicious. The selection is excellent. I made a note of the brands before leaving. I was very satisfied coming all the way to Chofu. I'm worried if I'll be able to find a better Spanish bar than this in the future. It was a great celebration as my favorite team won at Ajinomoto Stadium for the first time in 19 years.

Here, they stick to analog, with cash payment only and no website or social media presence. I had no idea what was happening during the state of emergency. I nervously called, but Kaori's cheerful voice was the same as before. I made a reservation without hesitation and went out. Upon entering, they immediately instructed me to disinfect my hands. I sat at the right end of the counter, where the ventilation was best. Cheers with a Spanish bottled beer (@770 yen)! They were completely closed during the state of emergency. After reopening, they open at 5 pm, serve alcohol until 10 pm, and close completely at 11 pm (as of August 1st). I ordered some ham (880 yen), swordfish escabeche (770 yen), and sardine a la plancha (880 yen) with a glass of white wine Edetana (@770 yen). I also ordered sautéed artichokes (660 yen) and a large mixed paella (6,820 yen) with a glass of red wine Cigales (@770 yen). I was shown the perfectly cooked paella and added olives (660 yen), grilled marinated peppers (660 yen), and more escabeche (770 yen) to share 1/4 of the paella with my friend and took the rest to go (they didn't have takeout containers, so they wrapped it in aluminum foil). We each had 3 glasses of red wine, and the total bill for both of us was 19,800 yen. A thoroughly satisfying Spanish evening!

When you think of Spanish cuisine, you might imagine paella or garlic shrimp. However, the real charm of this place lies in the surprisingly delicious dishes that you don't often see in Spanish cuisine, like omelettes and croquettes. They skillfully incorporate the use of cured ham to add a Spanish touch, and as I sipped my drink, I couldn't help but think, "Wow, this is really good." The supporting dishes are a testament to the quality of the restaurant. Even the classic dishes are quite delicious. Especially the squid ink paella, which I really enjoyed. It's packed with the umami flavor of seafood, and it's addictively tasty. I'd like to try the mixed paella next time, but I might just end up ordering the squid ink paella again. This is a really great restaurant, so I plan to visit again soon. *Items received: - Chilled soup - Iberico ham - Spanish-style potato omelette - Garlic sautéed shrimp - Grilled mushrooms - Asparagus fritters - Croquettes with cured ham - Pork sauté - Squid ink paella

After leaving the izakaya along the old train tracks and heading back towards the station, I passed by Danjou. Unable to just walk by, I opened the door and peeked inside to find it bustling with customers! Luckily, a two-person table was available. We ordered the Sanz La Capital Roble (Tempranillo) at 770 yen each, four orders of prosciutto at 880 yen, grilled mushrooms for 660 yen, and a small mixed paella for 3,080 yen, totaling 8,360 yen. Kaoh-chan and I enjoyed some standing-drinking talk about Chofu, greeted Mr. Danjo properly, and thanked him for the meal.

I finally got to go to this restaurant after failing to make a reservation twice! It's a very nice atmosphere! The ham, pickled sardines, scrambled eggs with pine nuts, and squid ink paella were all delicious! I couldn't remember the name of a few dishes though. The ham was so tasty that I ended up ordering it twice. The sardines were just the right amount of sourness. Everyone was ordering the paella, so we decided to try it too! The master with a beard asked if we wanted more bread, so we ended up getting seconds. Everything was so delicious that my friends ended up drinking quite a bit! If only we can get a reservation, we would love to visit this restaurant again soon!

Before 5:00 pm, I made a phone call on a whim since I was nearby, and managed to secure 2 counter seats until 6:30 pm. We ordered Squid Ink Paella for takeout at 2,800 yen, my girlfriend had a glass of white Marques for 700 yen, I had a glass of red N°3B for 700 yen, Red Snapper Carpaccio for 800 yen, and Galician-style Octopus for 800 yen. The Red Snapper was refreshing and delicious. The Galician-style Octopus was boiled and then mixed with salt, olive oil, and paprika, served on top of boiled potatoes. The octopus was chewy, but not quite there. We received a lecture from Mr. Danjo about the Danjo surname. There is also a Mr. Danjo at the famous Ebisu izakaya Yoshitake, but it was just a coincidence and not related. We each had another glass of red wine, and the total bill with consumption tax came to 7,776 yen.

I have tried to go several times in the past, but I couldn't get in easily, but this time I finally got the chance. I arrived right at the opening and smoothly sat at the counter. When it comes to Spain, I started with my favorite sherry. They had Fino, Amontillado, Oloroso, and Manzanilla. Since the temperature has risen and it feels like summer, I enjoyed a refreshing Gazpacho. And the Sangria with apple and cloves was delicious! I also had Murcia-style scrambled eggs with plenty of zucchini, potatoes, and bell peppers. So tasty! If you go early, you can also use it for a casual drink! Next time, I'll go eat Paella.
