The Yoshinoya chain is thriving thanks to its popular breakfast menu. The Ochanomizu branch is clean, the staff are friendly, and the introduction of touch panels makes for a pleasant experience. The increase in customers is benefiting the store, creating a positive cycle. I opted for the small morning beef bowl, which was delicious and satisfying for breakfast.

I saw a special feature on TV about Yoshinoya's beef kalbi bowl and felt like trying it. I decided to go all out and ordered the super size, but it was underwhelming. I wonder what the difference is between regular, large, and super sizes. Is it just one extra piece of meat that costs an additional 150 yen or 120 yen? I wish they would clearly state the gram amount for fairness. I regret not just getting the W set meal for 777 yen.

I visited the Yoshinoya Ochanomizu branch around 7 pm on a certain day in April 2023. The restaurant, located just outside the ticket gates of Ochanomizu Station, was about 40% full. I sat alone at the counter and ordered the "Grilled Green Onion Chicken Bowl" for ¥547 and the "Pickles and Miso Soup Set" for ¥184 using the touch panel in front of me. The food was served after about 5 minutes. The presentation of the grilled green onion chicken bowl was not very beautiful, with a combination of pickles and miso soup. I first enjoyed the rice with well-grilled chicken, green onions, and sauce. The sauce, not too sweet, had a good flavor. The chicken was juicy and had a pleasant texture. It was nice to enjoy the difference in flavor between grilled and raw green onions. Although the portion of green onions seemed to be more than the chicken, the delicious taste of the flavorful sauce made it enjoyable. I sprinkled some shichimi pepper on top for added kick and aroma while savoring the grilled green onion chicken bowl. The pickles provided a satisfying crunch and paired well with the bowl, and the miso soup, with a hint of sweetness, was a nice addition. I enjoyed the combination of the miso soup with wakame seaweed and dried green onions while savoring the grilled chicken bowl. After finishing the meal, I felt satisfied. Although it may not offer as much value as the beef bowl, it is reasonably priced compared to other grilled chicken bowls. I was impressed by the variety of Yoshinoya's recent menu offerings and left the restaurant feeling like I would like to visit more often in the future to try out new dishes.

I had breakfast but after finishing work at 8:00 am, I looked around the station area and decided to eat beef bowl at "Yoshinoya," which I haven't visited recently. It was around 8:40 am, but I was in full lunch mode. I ordered the Morning Beef Set (small) for 499 yen. I was surprised because the beef was not thinly sliced and the onions were large. I chose a soft-boiled egg, but it was cold from the bowl to the product, so I couldn't put it on the beef bowl. Thank you for the meal.

After a long time, on a Saturday, I had to work in Ochanomizu and decided to stop by this place on my way back from work, which is also a rare occurrence. I chose the winter classic, beef sukiyaki set meal from the menu. It was a Saturday, so the restaurant was quite empty, and I sat at the counter. I ordered a draft beer and the beef sukiyaki set meal in a large portion. The beer arrived first, and I toasted to myself for a job well done. Soon after, the set meal arrived with plenty of beef simmering in a hot pot. The beef was cooked in a sweet broth, which was a bit surprising but delicious. I dipped the hot beef in a raw egg and enjoyed it. The set meal also included onions, cabbage, and tofu. The price for the large portion was the same as the set meal with rice and miso soup, which made me happy. It was a satisfying drinking and dining experience today.

I went to Yoshinoya after the October 2019 tax increase. While Sukiya and Matsuya kept their in-store prices the same after the tax increase, Yoshinoya raised their prices in-store, making it effectively more expensive. However, they are currently running a limited-time campaign from October 1st to 15th, offering a 10% discount on all Gyudon and Gyu-sara dishes as part of their 120th anniversary celebration. I visited the day after the campaign started and ordered the Gyudon regular size (347 yen) with plenty of red pickled ginger on top. It was delicious as always. When I visited again in October 2022 after a long time, I was surprised to see that they had switched to a touch panel system. I tried the natto set meal (399 yen) this time.

It is located between the JR Ochanomizu Station Ochanomizu Hashiguchi and Sei Hashiguchi. It is very conveniently located just outside the station ticket gate. The interior of the restaurant mainly consists of a U-shaped counter seat in the front. ・Beef bowl (May 25, 2022) The balance of lean and fatty slices of beef is visually 7 (lean): 3 (fatty). The sauce brings out the umami of the beef and the sweetness of the onions rather than sweetness. This is the usual Yoshinoya taste. Is it the consistent deliciousness that attracts repeat customers? Thank you for the meal. ◆History◆ May 29, 2022 Two photos and a new review have been posted. I have a blog https://ameblo.jp/ameblo-bob22/entry-12745428356.html

Yoshinoya in front of Ochanomizu Station. It was my first visit in about a year. I sometimes crave Yoshinoya, but I haven't been eating out much, so it's been quite a while. This time I had the breakfast set, with extra beef and extra sauce. You can choose a side dish for the breakfast set, so I chose the egg. The beef was tender and flavorful, soaked in the sauce. I broke the egg halfway through and finished it smoothly. I think this beef bowl is more satisfying and delicious than dishes made with expensive beef. Price doesn't always determine taste.

I had an appointment at 2:30 PM and it finished around 3:30 PM, but I haven't had lunch yet. It's too late to eat now because it will ruin my appetite for drinking in the evening. But I'm hungry and can't resist, so I'll just have something cheap and small. How about a small beef bowl from Yoshinoya? It's been a while since I've had it, but it's delicious, right? The regular size is 387 yen and the small size is 365 yen. I think it's better to go for the regular size.

At the end of the year, I had to work overtime for the first time in a while, so I couldn't resist going out for a meal before heading home! I chose my usual spot near my workplace. The menu caught my eye, and I sat at the counter where a few salarymen were seated. I resisted the urge to drink and ordered the beef yakiniku set meal. It arrived quickly, with beef yakiniku, rice, miso soup, and salad. The beef was tender and coated in a sweet and savory sauce, with onions and sliced green onions adding a nice touch. It reminded me of gyudon, but the taste and cooking method were more like yakiniku. Overall, for the price, I was satisfied with the taste and portion size. It was a good meal to end the day with!

I tried the new menu item called "Kara-gyu" at Yoshinoya, which combines fried chicken and beef bowl. The beef bowl was delicious as always, and the fried chicken was also tasty with a good portion size. They also offer options like fried chicken bowl and fried chicken set meal, showing Yoshinoya's commitment to creating new and exciting dishes.

Pork bowl with kimchi and miso soup set for 682 yen. It's been a while since the BSE incident, so I visited Yoshinoya for their pork bowl. The taste seems lighter than before, and the meat texture feels different, maybe thicker. I might be remembering it wrong since it's been a while. I added kimchi and pork soup to make it a bit luxurious. The pork soup is full of ingredients and delicious. Kimchi goes well with the pork. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

As autumn deepens, on a cold day when I took the train, my body felt chilly with all the windows open. I got off at the station and decided to warm up with a bowl of beef bowl (do you want extra leek?). I quickly ordered and enjoyed it inside the restaurant, replenishing with pickled red ginger. The hot beef bowl really warmed up my body. It was lunchtime and the restaurant was very busy, but the staff's handling was really skillful. It's so convenient to have such a restaurant when you want to fill up your stomach a bit.

Yoshinoya in front of Ochanomizu Station. I have used it many times because of its convenience. Although I have used it many times, I have never written a review before. If it weren't for the coronavirus pandemic, I might not have written a review this time either. I was unusually hungry this time, so I ordered a large serving from the morning. Of course, with extra broth and an egg. It has been a while since I had a large serving, and the amount of rice is quite substantial. The meat was also plentiful. I first tried it with pickled ginger on top. Depending on the part you happen to get, this time the meat was mild in flavor. I then beat the egg and poured it over the meat. The smooth white meat combined with the flavor of the yolk was delicious. By adding extra broth, the combination with the egg was even better. Ah, it was the usual deliciousness.

On this day in mid-May, I had to go to Iidabashi for work due to circumstances. When I changed trains at Akihabara to the Chuo-Sobu Line, it was unexpectedly crowded, so I decided to get off at Ochanomizu and walk to the office. As I walked towards Ochanomizu Bridge from the Seihashiguchi exit, I noticed a few customers surrounding this beef bowl restaurant at a distance, waiting for it to open. Luckily, the timing was right as the shop opened and customers started to enter. I followed suit and sat at the counter near the entrance. I ordered the new item released at the end of March, the "Morning Beef Set" for 398 yen (excluding tax). It's a great deal where you can add 66 yen to a "Small Beef Bowl" for a set that comes with miso soup and a small side dish. For me, who always chooses beef bowls at Yoshinoya, this set was much appreciated. You can choose from 5 side dishes for the small side dish, including egg, soft-boiled egg, mini salad, natto, and pickles. I chose the soft-boiled egg. The set arrived in about 3 minutes. The soft-boiled egg was actually a hot spring egg. Putting the soft-boiled egg and pickled ginger on top of the beef bowl, slightly breaking it, and then eating it was indeed delicious. The base beef bowl had a reliable taste. Choosing the hot spring egg, where the white was moderately solidified and the umami of the yolk was activated, was the right decision. Amidst many chains suspending early morning operations due to the pandemic, it was appreciated that this place was open from 7 am, even with shortened hours. Yoshinoya is a strong ally for early morning commuters.

Yoshinoya, famous for its beef bowl, is struggling with many restaurants in front of the newly built Ochanomizu station closing down. The ghost town situation is worrying. Due to the impact of the coronavirus, the back table seats are closed. As a result, the space is narrow, and with surrounding stores closed, there is a customer sitting next to you at night. It would be better if there was a bit more distance. The beef kalbi set meal is 598 yen (excluding tax), and it's quite cheap considering they don't serve alcohol. I am very tired, so if I have a drink when I get home, I will quickly fall asleep. I need to be careful not to fall asleep on the train ride back. Is the beef kalbi comparable to a convenience store bento? The rice is soft, but the coleslaw salad comes with a dressing that tastes similar to dispenser-pack mayonnaise, and it's good that it comes with miso soup, unlike the beef bowl. Even though the price doesn't include tax, isn't it good for this price? Is the customer service being too cautious about the coronavirus? With all that said, thank you. Itadakimasu.

Hello! I'm a table tennis girl! Sometimes I casually drop by Yoshinoya (a beef bowl restaurant) (⌒-⌒) I find eating beef bowls very appealing, but lately I've been getting beef dishes a lot. It can get quite crowded and ordering may take some time, but once you place your order, the beer arrives quickly. I think draft beer is surprisingly well-done. It's really delicious, ice-cold, and makes me happy. And before you know it, the beef dish arrives too (⌒-⌒) You can choose the portion size of the beef dish in detail, making it suitable for pre-drinks before a party or for a hearty meal. The taste is top-notch, with fatty meat and a sweet and savory flavor that is superb. It feels like rice and sake are competing for a lover. This time, it was a taste that went perfectly with beer (⌒-⌒) Recently, there are often foreign staff members serving, but there's no problem at all. I'll definitely go drinking there again (⌒-⌒)

I heard from Mairebi-san's review that a limited-time offer of saury set meal was available, but due to poor fishing this year, it seemed like it might not be available. Intrigued, I decided to visit this restaurant near my workplace. However, when I looked at the menu on the table, I couldn't find the saury set meal. It seemed like it was not on the menu at this restaurant, so I gave up and ordered the autumn limited menu, Tsukimi Gyudon. After a short wait, the dish arrived with rice, miso soup, Gyudon topped with raw egg, and pickles with grated daikon. I made a mistake in the order of toppings by putting the raw egg yolk on top of the Gyudon before transferring it to the bowl, and it almost fell off (laughs). I corrected my mistake and broke the yolk before eating. The Gyudon had beef and onions in it, giving it a taste similar to Gyudon with added egg, but it was quite strong in soy sauce flavor and a bit too saucy for my liking (laughs). Although it looked luxurious when served as a set meal, when I thought about it, paying a relatively high price for Gyudon with egg on top seemed a bit pricey. That was today's Yoshinoya, the autumn limited menu.

During Golden Week... on a day that turned into a work holiday, I chose to have lunch at this restaurant, Yoshinoya, for the first time... intrigued by their new phrase of "Chicken Spicy Curry." The restaurant was not too crowded, with about 5-6 customers inside. I sat at the empty counter and immediately ordered the Chicken Spicy Curry when the server brought me a glass of water. It had been a while since I had curry at Yoshinoya, probably since the Black and White Curry. The background music in the restaurant mentioned that the curry was made with onions, chicken broth, 27 different spices, apples, chili peppers, and ginger, resulting in a spicy yet sweet flavor. The curry arrived promptly, served on a clean white plate with rice and half a boiled egg on top. I took a bite of the curry first... it was a watery curry that seemed like it would appeal to women. The spiciness was mild, and the chicken thigh meat was similar to Tandoori chicken, flavorful enough to be enjoyed on its own, but I quickly mixed it with the curry roux (laughs). Compared to the Black and White Curry I had before, this one seemed saltier. Around the same time, Matsuya also brought back their Chicken Curry, so it seems like a Chicken Curry battle is brewing between the beef bowl restaurants. Compared to Matsuya, Yoshinoya's version was 40 yen cheaper and had a so-so taste. That's how my lunch went today~

So, I almost forgot, but just in time I remembered. Other customers were also ordering this curry, as expected on the release day. The curry that finally arrived was quite ordinary. It lacked Fukujinzuke, so I used red pickled ginger instead. The chicken had a decent amount and had a grilled vibe. Since it claims to be "Spice~", I was hoping for a little more creativity. If I had to give it a name, I would call it "Yakitori Curry". If you sprinkle shichimi, it could be considered a spiced curry in a way. It's decent, but with the competition in the curry world, I would like to see a bit more effort. I want to encourage Yoshinoya to do their best. Thank you for the meal!
