Wednesday was a "No Overtime Day" at work, so I went out with my colleagues to a popular restaurant where we could enjoy fried chicken and other dishes. The place was packed when we arrived at 7 pm, and we had reserved the 4,000 yen course which included all-you-can-drink Orion beer. We started with a toast with Orion beer and enjoyed various delicious appetizers, including garlic butter squid and other tasty dishes. Everything was so good that I forgot to take photos. The squid in garlic butter sauce was especially amazing, and I wished they had bread to soak up the sauce. Unfortunately, they didn't serve bread. The main dish was half-fried chicken and a platter of fried foods. The staff even explained the different parts of the chicken to us. The chicken was well-seasoned and went perfectly with highballs. The fried chicken and corn fritters on the platter were also incredibly delicious. Lastly, we had minced meat and grated yam over rice, which was a delightful way to end the meal. For 4,000 yen, we were completely satisfied with the food and service. I would definitely want to visit this restaurant again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Only three months ago, when I visited Otaru during my trip to Hokkaido, I tried the famous half-fried chicken at "Naruto". It was delicious, so I planned to order it online when I got back, but three months passed. However, I happened to see a YouTube video mentioning that there is a "Naruto Kitchen" store in the Kanto region, so I couldn't resist and went. I found out that there are quite a few stores in the Kanto region. It took me a while to find my way out of the maze-like Shibuya station, but the store was only about 2-3 minutes away from the station. I arrived around 1940, and the place was about half full. Although there was no counter, there were small tables for 2 people, and I was seated there. Of course, I was the only solo diner. I ordered the half-fried chicken for 1200 yen, a side dish trio (corn tofu, potato salad, cheese soy sauce pickles) for 680 yen, and a black label beer for 540 yen. The staff was very friendly and had a good attitude, which I appreciated. The beer and side dish trio came out quickly, but the half-fried chicken took about 10 minutes. The staff offered to break it down for me, which was a relief because it can be messy and greasy to do it yourself. The staff efficiently broke it down for me using chopsticks and gloved hands. They even explained the different parts of the chicken. Then I dug in. The taste was just like the one I had in Otaru, which was expected. It's quite salty, so I remembered a lady near me in Otaru saying it was too salty. It might be too salty for those who don't like salty flavors, but it pairs perfectly with alcohol. The crispy surface and juicy meat were delicious. The side dish trio was also tasty. I initially thought the potato salad was regular, but the corn tofu had a unique flavor with corn topping on flavorful tofu. The potato salad had small pieces of chicken in it, showing attention to detail. The cheese soy sauce pickles were a unique delicacy that paired well with alcohol. I also ordered a highball for 490 yen, zangi thigh for 200 yen, and zangi breast for 200 yen. The zangi pieces were large and satisfying, with a crispy exterior and juicy interior. The total came to 3310 yen, which I paid with PayPay. The place was quite crowded when I left. The service was good, and I think it offers good value for money. Since there are several branches, I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

I visited during lunchtime on a weekday. Most of the customers were office workers. I was tempted by the famous dish from Hokkaido, the half-fried chicken, but I thought it might be too much trouble to eat... so I ordered the Zangi set meal. Depending on the price, you can choose 2-4 pieces of Zangi, and I chose 3 pieces. You can choose between white rice or ginger-flavored rice. When it was served, I was surprised by how big one piece of Zangi was! It was about the size of two frozen fried chickens. Along with that, there was a salad with yuzu dressing, a rolled omelet, a miso soup with Chinese cabbage and seaweed, and ginger rice. The fried chicken was hot and juicy, the salad was refreshing, and the ginger rice was delightful. The combination of fried chicken, rice, miso soup, and salad was so satisfying. And it was nice to get change from a thousand yen. The Zangi in the set meal had a ginger flavor, but I noticed that in the rice bowl it had a garlic flavor, and I also became curious about the famous half-fried chicken dish... I definitely want to come back again. Thank you for the meal.

On a hot day around 12:30 in the afternoon with only a few customers, I decided to eat at a restaurant in Otaru. However, the line was so long that I didn't know how many hours I would have to wait, so I gave up with a laugh. I knew there was a branch in Shibuya, but I wasn't sure if the taste was the same since I had never eaten at the main store in Otaru. I ended up getting the half-fried chicken. It was piping hot that I didn't even need gloves, and the crispy skin was delicious. It was quite filling and since it was chicken, I thought it would be healthy. I would like to try the Zangi and other items next time. The staff immediately gave me a cold towel when I entered and told me to drink plenty of water, showing great care. Despite the hot weather, they even invited passersby to come in. Amazing! The payment methods were also diverse, with almost all types accepted, except for specific electronic money. It was such a hot day that I will come back to try the hot Zangi when it cools down a bit.

There is a restaurant behind Shibuya Police Station where you can enjoy a lunch of deep-fried half chicken. The portion is huge and it comes with gloves. The crispy and salty half chicken is fun to eat as you use your hands and chopsticks to dismantle it. It's entertaining and satisfying to eat.

I visited around 1 pm on a weekday and ordered the "grilled chicken set with one peach for 1200 yen". I was told that I could change to ginger rice for free, which would take about 10 minutes. However, I didn't have to wait that long. They provided plastic gloves at the center of the table, but the freshly fried food was too hot to hold with bare hands, so I used chopsticks to eat. The chicken was well-seasoned with salt, maybe a bit too salty. On the other hand, the ginger rice had a mild flavor. There were some vegetables under the chicken, but I wished they were served on a separate plate instead of the plastic gloves being placed in the center.

I thought this was the perfect place when you really want to eat a lot of fried chicken. It would be great to go with a group of people who can eat a lot so you can enjoy the variety of fried chicken dishes. I heard they also have lunch menu, so I would like to visit for lunch next time.

Naruto Kitchen, a chicken half-fried specialty store originating from Otaru, has expanded nationwide. We had a social gathering at the Shibuya store on a summer day. The freshly fried half-chicken is served by the staff at the table. The outside is crispy, while the inside is juicy - perfect to enjoy with beer or highball. The other dishes like Nan-kotsu umesho, sand liver garlic butter, and potato salad were also delicious. The prices are a bit on the higher side, typical of Shibuya. The staff's customer service and handling were excellent.

A popular izakaya known for its specialty dishes of half-fried chicken and zangi in Otaru. I suddenly had a craving for fried chicken, so I decided to give it a try. I arrived around 11:50 and was able to get a table easily, but by 12:10 there was a line forming outside. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is typical of an izakaya, with seats quite close together. I ordered the "Tartar Zangi Teishoku for 1,000 yen including tax". The fried chicken pieces were quite large and hot, making them very delicious. I also liked that they offered a choice between white rice and ginger rice. The portion size was satisfying. Overall, I think this is a great place for a casual lunch option that you can easily enjoy.

Tokyo is a popular pub where you can enjoy delicious chicken dishes that go well with alcohol. It has branches in Gotanda, Ogikubo, Kanda, and a takeout specialty store in Kojiya, and a new branch opened in Oimori in November. One of their recommended dishes is the "Fried Chicken Leg for 1080 yen," which has a perfect shape for Christmas and is very satisfying to eat with its crispy skin and juicy meat. It's been very popular even on weekdays, so it's recommended to make a reservation for dinner.

Until recently, I used to live in Shibuya near Ebisu, and this place, Naruto Kitchen, was part of my walking route. I couldn't stop by often, but I had my go-to orders - the half-chicken and zangi. I passed by here so many times, and now I'm so full and satisfied.

A restaurant where you can enjoy Hokkaido local cuisine and creative chicken dishes ◎ Ordered items ◎ ☑ Young chicken half-fried ☑ Assorted chicken meat ☑ Seasonal vegetables fried ☑ Corn tofu ☑ Mozzarella cheese marinated in soy sauce ☑ Mochi with sweet potato ☑ Freshly squeezed grapefruit squash ☑ Yuzu honey squash ⋆⋅⋅⋅⊱∘──────∘⊰⋅⋅⋅⋆"Young chicken half-fried" (*゚0゚) Wow, it looks so luxurious! It feels like Christmas has come early. Otaru's soul food, young chicken half-fried. The staff at the restaurant explained each part while skillfully dismantling them. Thigh, tail, wing tip, wing root, tenderloin, and breast skin were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. ⋆⋅⋅⋅⊱∘──────∘⊰⋅⋅⋅⋆"Assorted chicken meat" A special menu only available at night, with chicken skin, tail, shoulder, thigh, breast, wing tip, sunagimo, liver, cartilage, and gizzard, a total of 10 different chicken meat parts! You can enjoy the different textures and flavors while comparing them. It seems like a great snack with alcohol. ⋆⋅⋅⋅⊱∘──────∘⊰⋅⋅⋅⋆"Seasonal vegetables fried" Fried taro, okra, and shiitake mushrooms. I had never tried fried taro before, but it was unexpectedly delicious. A surprising discovery! ⋆⋅⋅⋅⊱∘──────∘⊰⋅⋅⋅⋆"Corn tofu" I thought there was just corn on the tofu, but the tofu was incredibly creamy. It was so creamy that it almost tasted like cheese. A menu item that I would definitely want to try again at Naru Kitchen. ⋆⋅⋅⋅⊱∘──────∘⊰⋅⋅⋅"Mozzarella cheese marinated in soy sauce" I was curious about this dish because of its name. Even people who don't like cheese might enjoy the taste. It's a great snack. ⋆⋅⋅⋅⊱∘──────∘⊰⋅⋅⋅⋆"Mochi with sweet potato" Hokkaido's specialty, mochi with sweet potato. It had a surprisingly rich flavor with lots of butter. You can easily eat it like a dessert.

This restaurant offers Hokkaido local cuisine at a good cost performance. The dishes we ordered this time were: - Half fried young chicken: 1,200 yen (tax included) - Assorted chicken meat: 2,320 yen (tax included) - Seasonal vegetable tempura (3 kinds): 680 yen (tax included) - Soy sauce-marinated mozzarella cheese: 430 yen (tax included) - Corn tofu: 430 yen (tax included) - Half fried young chicken: A signature menu item. Each piece of domestically raised young chicken is carefully seasoned with a secret spice blend and fried without any coating at high temperature. Juicy thigh and bonjiri, refreshing and healthy breast and tenderloin, collagen-rich wings, and crispy fried chicken skin. You can experience "everything about chicken" with this dish. It's also nice that the staff cuts it into easy-to-eat pieces. The seasoning was perfect - my favorite was the fatty bonjiri! - Assorted chicken meat: Another dish where you can enjoy "all about chicken". It includes fried sleeves, bonjiri, chicken skin, wings, breast, thigh, liver, yagen cartilage, heart, and gizzard - all on one plate. It looks luxurious and each part has a different seasoning and cooking method, so I didn't get tired of eating until the end. Among them, I especially enjoyed the sleeves, which are a rare part between wings and breast. The crispy chicken skin was also irresistible. It was great to be able to choose two favorite sauces to dip. - Corn tofu: The other appetizers were also satisfying! Especially, the corn tofu had a unique presence. It was chewy, slightly sweet, and had a nice popping texture of corn. It was more like cheese than tofu.

Visited at night. The first photo is of bonito sashimi, and the second photo is of a set including zangi and more. Also had mozzarella cheese marinated in soy sauce, and rolled omelette, among other things. Zangi is the specialty, crispy and very delicious. Ate until full, had some drinks, and it came out to around 3000 yen per person, so the cost performance is really great.

When thinking about where to have lunch in Shibuya, there are so many options that it can be overwhelming, but I always feel like walking a little towards the police station to go to this restaurant. I've been here for dinner before, and I heard that their lunch set comes with a lot of Zangi, which is perfect for fried chicken lovers like me. I ordered the Otaru Zangi set with an extra Zangi. You can't go wrong with adding more Zangi. The Zangi has a thick, salty coating and is served piping hot, so you have to be careful not to burn your mouth. The taste goes really well with the rice. I could eat here over and over again.

Reserved for four people on the weekend. Reservation is essential as it was fully booked. Started with beer and then moved on to a bottle of shochu. Ordered a few appetizers and the famous half-fried chicken only. The half-fried chicken, a specialty of the restaurant, was delicious with various cuts to enjoy. The staff kindly cut it up and explained the different parts. The flavor was rich and it paired well with both alcohol and rice. Even the skin was tasty. The course menu is quite filling, so if you focus on drinks, I recommend ordering a la carte. Visit rating: 3.52

Today, I had a year-end party with my fellow members from our martial arts group. We were looking for a place with all-you-can-drink for 5000 yen, and we stumbled upon this place! Despite the price, the portion size was amazing! The last dish of piled-up fried chicken was no joke haha. By the way, we were a group of 10 and we ordered three plates of fried chicken. We ate so much fried chicken that we're good for a while now! I'm satisfied. Osu osu!

Shibuya, the lunch meeting ran late again, and as usual, I couldn't find lunch until 2 pm. I was lost for lunch. I searched and found "Naruto Kitchen Shibuya Store" behind Shibuya Police Station, which serves until 2:30 pm. I decided to go there, and it looked like an izakaya. There were people drinking alcohol inside. Well, I just wanted a quick lunch, and I haven't had "fried chicken" in a while, so I entered the restaurant. A glass of water was brought in a beer mug. It felt like an izakaya. The menu featured a specialty called "half-fried young chicken," a specialty from Otaru. (I thought it was from Kagawa Prefecture...) I decided to order the "Half-fried Young Chicken Set Meal (tax included 1300 yen)" which focused on this dish. It was brought to me in 10 minutes after ordering. Plastic gloves were provided, and I put them on my left hand to hold the chicken. Ouch! The chicken was fried without any batter. It seemed to be fried at a very high temperature, so it was hot to hold with my hands. But I had no choice but to hold it. I used chopsticks in my right hand to break the meat. It was quite a struggle, not as easy as described in the instructions. I enjoyed the wings, breast meat, etc. The skin around it showed a Maillard reaction and was crispy and fragrant. Eating the crispy skin along with the tender meat inside was a blissful experience. Now, I tried other items in the set meal. The rice...it was quite cold and not very tasty...I had to think of it as a bonus. The miso soup...this was delicious. It had plenty of wakame seaweed, cabbage, lotus root, eggplant, etc., and was quite flavorful. That made the rice less appealing... The pickled radish was also delicious. The potato salad seemed to be melting and was not to my liking. It seems that focusing on the fried chicken here is the way to go. The secret spices were surprisingly delicious, and they are particular about using fresh chicken meat, not frozen. It was delicious, but eating half a chicken was quite filling. I had to resort to holding the parts I couldn't dismantle properly with the plastic gloves and tearing the meat with my teeth. This might be something that women find difficult to do in public... If someone brings this for Christmas, I can have half of it by myself. Instead of lining up for that famous chicken this year, maybe getting takeout or delivery from here is a good idea. Just the chicken would get a 3.8 rating, but with the disappointing rice, the set meal's rating becomes stricter, maybe a 3.6?...Oh well, as the half-fried chicken is still doing well, let's keep the overall rating at 3.7.

You can feel Hokkaido at this izakaya (^ ^) The zangi (fried chicken) is huge and satisfying! They also have delicious butter-grilled squid, a platter of three unique appetizers, coriander salad, and tasty sand liver ajillo. They offer a wide variety of drinks, including Hokkaido Garana Sour. If you ever want to experience Hokkaido in the middle of Shibuya, this is the place to go!

An izakaya located in the business district on the Shibuya Stream side, known for its half-fried chicken as its signature dish. During lunchtime, they offer either a young chicken half-fried or a set meal with several types of zangi. I ordered the simplest one, the Otaru zangi set meal (830 yen). Soon enough, the piping hot zangi arrived. The size of each zangi piece is huge, almost like a ball! The inside has a smoked chicken-like color, and the taste is well-seasoned fried chicken. It's not greasy and has a refreshing taste. This might be the first time I've had this type of fried chicken, more like zangi than regular karaage. However, the flavor is quite strong, and it can make you thirsty. It may not be the type of dish you want to gobble up quickly. The ratio of female customers is around 40%, probably because the lack of greasiness makes it easier for women to eat.
