In December 2019, I bought some Senbei (rice crackers) from Matsuzaki Senbei, a Senbei shop in Tokyo's Ginza district, at Haneda Airport. The shop was established in 1804. The ones I purchased were the Haneda Airport exclusive "Kometsubu Senbei - Miso flavor". They come in a pack of 12 (also available in soy sauce and salt flavors). When I got home, I tried them right away. The sesame flavor and rich miso taste complement each other perfectly, creating a delicious and fragrant snack. I really enjoyed the thin and small size, as well as the crispy texture. Honestly, 12 pieces were not enough for me. Thank you for the meal!

Perfect snack for when you still have time before boarding the plane and feeling a bit hungry - the ideal "soraben" (airplane bento)! The flavorful grilled meat roll goes well with beer - perfect for enjoying in the ANA lounge. Check out the blog for more details: https://zan3tho.com

I knew about Yonesuke's tempura from an advertisement, so I decided to try it along with the grilled meat roll that looked more delicious. I bought both. Here is my detailed evaluation:
Price/Value: 3 points
Dish: Tokyo Grilled Meat Roll, Yonesuke's Tempura
Taste: The grilled meat roll was tastier. The tempura was a bit soggy.
Atmosphere: Average
Staff: Average
Hygiene: Average
Points:
- Price/Value: The price I think is fair for the quality.
- Please be aware that smoking can affect the taste of the food.
Overall Rating:
- 5 points or above: A place I wouldn't want to tell others about, so I won't mention it here.
- 5 points: Only one favorite place per category (e.g. one favorite ramen shop, one favorite curry shop).
- 4.5 or above: I would travel far and wait in line to visit again.
- 4 points or above: I would visit again, recommend to friends or for business meetings.
- 3.5 or above: I would put it on my list for revisiting.
- 3 points or above: If it's nearby, I might go again, but would look for other options if available.
- 2 points or above: I would look for other restaurants, wouldn't go there myself.
- 1 point: I wouldn't go there again, even if invited.
- 1 point or below: It's no longer food, and they shouldn't be in the customer service business.
- Even if a place has a rating of 3.5 or above, if I get tired of the menu after a few visits, the rating may decrease.

I also visited Haneda Airport Terminal 1. I thought I had conquered the Pier series, but I had not been to Pier 1 yet. I was wondering where it was, and then I found it in the departure lobby. I bought some popcorn as a snack with my coffee. It seemed to be from a manufacturer in Nagasaki. I chose the rich caramel flavor limited to Haneda, and it was indeed rich and crispy, very delicious. It paired perfectly with the coffee.

Haneda Airport Terminal 1, souvenir shop in front of Gate B on the 2nd floor. The number of products they carry is not as large as other shops, but they have famous Western sweets. It gives the impression of a shop that values quality over quantity.
Skytree Crispy Chocolat (tax included 540 yen) - A souvenir from Haneda Airport featuring Skytree. It's a white chocolate in the shape of Skytree. Inside, there are crunchy bits and raspberry chips that give it a tangy and crispy texture. Despite being white chocolate, it's not overly sweet, which is its main feature. It also has a taste similar to soggy cornflakes. Overall, if you receive it as a souvenir, it's satisfying.

On this day in July 2015, I went on a trip to Fukuoka and headed to Kitakyushu Airport for the first time with Star Flyer. From Haneda Airport Terminal 1 Station on the Tokyo Monorail, I made my way to the departure lobby on the 2nd floor of Haneda Airport Terminal 1. Before going through security, I decided to buy breakfast at a nearby restaurant called "PIER1" (more for the sake of reviews rather than because I was hungry). They had a lot of souvenirs for sale, but I headed straight to the corner with boxed meals for the plane. It seems that these meals are designed to be easy to eat even in the cramped airplane cabin. I have purchased boxed meals labeled as "sky meals" before, but this was my first time buying one before actually boarding the flight (lol). On this day, I bought Yonesuke's Specialty Tempura Rice Balls for 669 yen including tax. Yonesuke is known for trying various boxed meals and tempura rice balls, so I was looking forward to it. This set includes scallop tempura, shrimp tempura, shrimp with pepper tempura, lotus root tempura, and chicken tempura. I have only ever tried shrimp tempura when it comes to tempura rice balls, so it was interesting to see the variety available. The scallop had a hint of yuzu and seaweed flavor. The lotus root was crunchy. The chicken had a unique sourness from the plum paste. Oh, but in the end, I ended up eating this in my hotel room in Fukuoka after arriving (lol).

I bought breakfast or lunch at Haneda Airport! The usual Lawson is under renovation, but will reopen from the 10th! I looked at the onigiri sign at this store near the elevator on my way to the boarding gate. I saw a bento box I've never seen before. I bought it right away! Let's eat it on the plane. When I opened the lid, the scent of bonito flakes was nice. The bonito flakes onigiri was delicious! The rest was just okay. It's just a bento box, so that's what you'd expect. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

At Haneda Airport, there was a wide variety of bento boxes and souvenirs available. I saw a lineup of bento boxes and onigiri on the sidewalk. I was captivated by the crab. I had breakfast at Juroku Sensei and enjoyed Inari sushi, nori rolls, and crab in that order. I was completely satisfied, needless to say. A morning of culinary bliss.

Before taking off from Haneda Airport, I purchased a bento box called "Yonesuke's Specialty Temmusu" on the floor with the check-in counter. (Departure Lobby (South) 2F of Domestic Terminal 1) I bought it for 800 yen. I ate it as my lunch on the plane, but the taste was not that great.

I stopped by to purchase some Imahan tsukudani for my family's request. It's not a product that is available at any shop in the airport, but at the spacious Pier 1, you can find a variety of souvenirs, including small stuffed animals and keychains, as well as most other goods. The Imahan beef tsukudani assortment costs ¥2,160, and while a paper box set would be sufficient for home use, only wooden box sets are sold at the souvenir shop. Imahan's tsukudani uses domestic beef and is a favorite of my family. They particularly love the beef and shiitake mushroom flavor, and they were delighted once again this time.

From the French restaurant "La Coupe D'Or" in Shirogane, Tokyo, a chocolate specialty shop called "La Maison Shirogane" collaborated with Haneda Airport to create a limited edition product. It is a baked chocolate pastry made with carefully baked chocolate and crispy pie crust with 432 layers. The Belgian couverture baked chocolate spreads the flavor of cocoa in your mouth, with milk, bitter, vanilla, strawberry, and seasonal limited editions of purple sweet potato and chestnut in a pack of 6 pieces.
