Let's eat oysters in Shibuya! A friend had been to this place called "Kaki Iregi" before, and I had heard of the name and was curious because they have stores in various areas. The Nakameguro and Shinagawa stores have a rating of 3.5 or higher on Tabelog, while the Shibuya store has a rating of 3.2. The location is in a mixed building right next to the Tokyu Department Store, same as the "Ore-ryu Shio Ramen" and gyoza. Thanks to my friend calling the restaurant, we got a private room near the entrance. It was a weekday, but the counter was full and there were many couples. The interior had a slightly dim atmosphere. We started with draft beer and highballs, then switched to sake and shochu. The grilled oysters served as an appetizer were a nice touch, but it took a long time to arrive. By the time I finished my first beer and ordered a second one, they finally came. The lamb meat stew was delicious. The lamb was tasty, and the potatoes were fluffy. The fresh oysters were small but tasty, served with ponzu jelly or lemon. The tuna cutlet was delicious, but the server forgot to sprinkle salt on it, so we had to reorder and it became slightly lukewarm. The cod roe and oyster ajillo had a delicious combination. The cod roe and oysters were only two pieces, so we had to share them among three people. We ordered an additional basket of bread, but it was slightly burnt. The scallop namero was made with scallops and included egg yolk, which we mixed together. The ankimo, shirako, and ikura gout platter was a great combination that made us want to order more sake. The fried oysters had a pale coating, which made us think they were fried at a low temperature. The tartar sauce with smoked herring was delicious, but the cod roe sauce was a bit off. The oysters cooked in chili tomato sauce were spicy and delicious, perfect with beer. We ordered the vongole udon as our last dish, but the udon seemed like a typical frozen one, making it feel a bit cheap. The white wine glasses were standard. The food was delicious, but everything took a long time to come out, which was a bit disappointing. I noticed that due to the pandemic, they have been slow in serving food and drinks since 2020. While most reviews were positive, reading Alice's review made me realize that the service might be slow. The total bill for three people was a little over 21,000 yen. We didn't order too many drinks, so maybe an all-you-can-drink option would be better if you plan on drinking a lot.
