I came to Ueno. I was wondering where to have dinner, and ended up at Mr. Akiyoshi's. When I opened the gate at the entrance, there was a line. The restaurant was full, so I decided to wait in line. I ordered the usual yakitori. The yakitori was small, easy to eat, delicious, and the staff were energetic. It's a great restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

For my daughter's 20th birthday celebration, we came to "Akiyoshi Ueno" restaurant. Since she can now legally drink, we tried beer and highball, but they didn't suit her taste. We had made a reservation for 6 pm and were seated at a table. We ordered some classic dishes: - Young chicken (a family favorite, light and delicious) - Young chicken skin (soft because it's from young chicken) - White liver (chewy texture, tasty with hot mustard) - Negima (second daughter's favorite) - Chicken tenderloin (eldest daughter's favorite, cooked well-done) - Mino (goes well with vinegar-based sauce and green onions) - Beef tongue (eldest son's favorite) - Skewered cutlets (bite-sized, easy on the stomach) - Pork loin (lean with green onions) - Cucumber (good for a break) Towards the end, the second daughter was recommended Mio (a sparkling sake from Tsukasabotan) by the eldest son, and she said, "This is delicious!" Cost performance is excellent. Every dish is cheap yet addictively delicious. The kimchi, in particular, is unusually tasty, and I ended up ordering it about 4 times. Perfect for casual drinking after work. There are also counter seats, so I think it's great for a date too. All the grilled chicken dishes were delicious as well. I definitely want to come back.

My friend who lives in Ishikawa kept saying "I went to Akiyoshi" every week, so I looked up what Akiyoshi was. I first visited the store in Ginza, and later found out that there is one in Ueno as well, so I have been visiting regularly since then. I always order "Junkai" and "Wakahada". I used to try various dishes based on the orders of the regulars next to me and the Akiyoshi fans who seemed to be from Fukui prefecture, but in the end, the menu I order at home is these two dishes. I order Junkai and Hada like crazy, so the staff may find it strange, but I love them. It's surprisingly sold out quickly.

I visited the restaurant because I wanted to eat Junkei. The Suidobashi branch was full of customers from the Tokyo Dome event, so we moved to the Ueno branch. There were three of us, so we sat at a table and I was able to enjoy my favorite Junkei. The texture of the parent chicken was just right, and the more you chewed, the more concentrated umami overflowed, it was so delicious. We also had more Junkei, and took 15 skewers to go on our way back. Visiting after 8pm meant there was no waiting and the dishes were served quickly, which was great. The staff were cheerful, energetic, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant. Thank you for the meal.

I have been going to this restaurant occasionally since a colleague from Kansai introduced it to me. We often visit different yakitori restaurants in Tokyo, and this time we went to Ueno for the second time. My colleague said that sitting at the counter is a must when eating yakitori. This restaurant has a lot of table seats, so it can be used depending on the situation. While the main dish is yakitori, the fried dishes like tulip (bone-in chicken karaage) are also delicious. The chicken yakitori in particular is extremely tasty! And it's great value for money! I will visit a different restaurant next time. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the Ueno branch for the first time. It was really crowded because it was Golden Week. I'm glad I made a reservation. When I ordered, the food was served quickly, so it seems like they have good turnover. The food was delicious, so I kept ordering more and ended up with a pretty high bill. The yakitori was around 400 yen for 5 skewers, so about 100 yen per skewer. Since each skewer is small, it's surprisingly pricey for me.

After the event at the Tokyo Dome ended, I visited the restaurant in Suidobashi, but by 6 pm there was already a waiting list... Today, I was in the mood for "Yakitori Meimon Akiyoshi," so I decided to bike over to the Ueno branch. Restaurants in Ueno are usually packed on Saturday nights, but Sundays are relatively easier to get in. I was able to enter the Akiyoshi Ueno branch without waiting! - Half & Half - Shochu Highball - Lemon Squeezed (3 cuts) - Water - Junkei x 25 - Red x 5 - White x 5 - Young Chicken x 5 - Skewers x 5 - Cold noodles Initially, I ordered 20 Junkei, but after finishing them all, I felt a bit unsatisfied and ordered an additional 5. The size is just right, making it easy to eat. The counter grill wasn't too hot, I wish it was a bit hotter. However, if it's too hot, it might burn the food. When we entered, I was called "young lady" and my husband was called "Mr. President," which I later found out is a feature of Akiyoshi. Junkei is really delicious. I had it yesterday, but I already want to eat it again today. Thank you for the meal.

Recently, my daughter started working nearby and we met up after her shift to have dinner at "Akiyoshi Ueno Store". My daughter warned me, "It's a holiday, so it might be crowded." We arrived around 5:30 PM and sure enough, there was a line with 7 parties ahead of us. We waited for about 50 minutes before finally being seated. I ordered my usual favorites: - young chicken - shiro (white meat) - jun kei (tenderloin) - harami (pork belly) - mino. It was crowded so the food arrived in about 8 minutes, and we dug in. 1. Young chicken: A classic at our house. Tender, refreshing, with a strong umami flavor. Goes well with the sauce! 2. Shiro: A chewy texture that I love. My favorite dish. 3. Jun kei: Slightly crunchy with a good bite. Tastes great dipped in mustard sauce. 4. Harami: This was my first time trying pork belly, not commonly found in Fukui. It had a bit of a chew but was delicious with a lot of flavor. (It was sold out last time I came, maybe they have limited quantities?) 5. Mino: I got hooked on this dish recommended by my father-in-law. The miso flavor and unique crunchy texture of mino are irresistible! At home, we eat it with chopped green onions and three-cup vinegar, which is super tasty. All the dishes went well with beer, and after eating the rice my wife made, I was stuffed. I think I ate about 30 skewers this time. As we were leaving, a customer remarked, "It's busy today! Probably because people from Fukui Prefecture are flocking here." I think they were right! Today, I landed in Ameyoko aiming for a different shop. Despite the situation with the coronavirus, the streets are bustling. Due to various circumstances, the shop I had in mind was unfortunately closed. As a backup plan, I remembered that there was a large-scale Akikichi here, so I hurried over. The interior of the restaurant is surprisingly spacious for 70 seats. It feels like there could be over 100 seats, but each table is generously spaced out. We ordered and devoured dishes like chicken breast, white meat, tongue, young chicken, negima (chicken and leek skewers), chicken stomach, chicken tenderloin, chicken thigh skewers, green onions skewers, pepper skewers, fried chicken skewers, french fries, deep-fried tofu, grated radish, and spicy kimchi. Oh boy, we ordered and ate so much! We even ordered the chicken breast three times, it's definitely too much for two people, but we always end up ordering this much.

I went to check out this restaurant that an acquaintance recommended, but it was terrible... None of the skewers I ordered were delicious, and many items required ordering at least 5 skewers. The waitresses were mostly foreigners and couldn't understand anything I asked. It was the worst. Despite all that, the fact that there were quite a few customers coming in made me realize that many people don't really know good food.

Originating from Fukui, Akikichi is a yakitori restaurant. I visited at 17:00 on the day before a holiday, and by 17:45 the restaurant was full and bustling. The draft beer at this Ueno branch is Asahi Super Dry, which is rare as most Akikichi branches serve Super Dry. The yakitori skewers are small and easy to eat in one bite. First, I tried the shiro, which is pork hormone but surprisingly sweet. It's hard to find a place in Ueno that surpasses the shiro here. Next, I had junkei, which is parent bird. It has a chewy texture and the more you chew, the more delicious it becomes. The prices may be a bit high in Ueno.

We have used takeout before, but this was our first time dining in at this restaurant. My husband is a fan of Akiyoshi and was looking forward to visiting. We arrived on a Saturday at 5:45 pm. There were 5 groups ahead of us waiting. We had to wait for 45 minutes before being seated at a table. Saturdays are quite busy here. They only accept phone reservations from 4 pm to 5 pm, and there is a 2-hour time limit for table use. Even without a reservation, there is a sign stating "Table usage time is limited to 2 hours", so be cautious during peak hours. We were seated at 6:30 pm, and by 8 pm, the waiting line had cleared up, so we were able to relax without feeling rushed. We ordered: Akajunke x3, Shirowakadori, Hatsu-toro, Harami, Torikarubi x2, Tokusen mino x2, Tan, Kushikatsu, Renkon age x2, Tamanegi fry x3, Peppers age, Potato fry, Tulip, Hamburger, Tomato, Akadashi, Hiya-meshi, Draft beer x5, Half & half beer x2, Coca-Cola, Orange juice, Barley shochu x9, Lemon sour x2. We were 4 adults (including 1 non-drinker) and 1 child, and the total bill came to 20,047 yen. There were plenty of dishes that the child could enjoy, which was helpful. The fact that there is a smoking room and separate restrooms for men and women (with 2 stalls for women) is a big plus. Unlike the main store and other branches in Fukui, this restaurant does not have teppanyaki tables, so we missed out on the Akiyoshi specialty and the food cooled down quickly. The sight of a pile of dishes in the washing area due to being too busy was a bit off-putting, but the staff were efficient and provided good service. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Akiyoshi, a place I used to frequent in my hometown, after a long time. The way of ordering, putting the sauce, the taste of the sauce, everything was the same as before and it made me happy. Oh, the prices had gone up though. Well, that's understandable in these times. The menu also seemed to have increased. The white and skewered cutlets are our family's favorites. It was a nostalgic taste of my hometown. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Akikichi in Ueno for some delicious food and drinks. I started with a cold beer and some cucumber and tomato skewers, then moved on to the amazing chicken skewers. The food was so delicious, especially the grilled rice balls and miso soup at the end. I had a great time and felt really happy. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

As a birthday present, my family requested to visit this restaurant for the first time since Golden Week. This is my second time visiting, but we arrived at 18:15 and were seated at 19:20, so we had to wait for about an hour. However, the waiting process was not very pleasant. In terms of food, we enjoyed our usual favorites like young chicken, jyunkai, shiro, wakahada, kushikatsu, lotus root tempura, tongue, and we also tried the new abura dish, savoring the taste of our hometown. The menu item we always have when we visit our hometown, mino, had made a comeback, and we ordered it for the first time at the Ueno branch. However, it was a bit smaller compared to what we are used to back home, which was disappointing. The miso sauce was good though. We also had the grilled chicken rice bowl as our go-to menu item, as we love the sauce. While we enjoyed the taste of the food, the waiting process was quite challenging. Even when tables were empty, they were not cleared promptly, and only tables for two were being cleared while larger groups like ours were left waiting. It was only after we spoke to a staff member that they started clearing our table, but there was no apology or acknowledgment of the inconvenience, so the service was not great.

Ueno Station area is crowded with people. The Akikichi Ueno store is also packed. Inside the store, there are only the president and his daughter. Those who know, know. The best thing here is that the yakitori is mostly served in sets of 5, easy to eat, with good ingredients, and expertly grilled by the chef, so it's delicious. Akikichi's start is from the cucumber! Today I decided to go solo and wander around Omotesando to Harajuku. After that, I thought about getting some takeout from a chicken restaurant I haven't been to in a while. The place was crowded with families, so I debated whether takeout would be a smarter choice. However, before I could even mention it, the staff seated me. As expected, my order of draft beer and cabbage with mayo was quickly served, but the chicken and white wine took a bit longer. Oh well, it's busy so it's understandable. I quickly ordered chicken thigh, grilled tail, and lemon sour for my second round. I ate, drank, and then headed home. Today's dishes included chicken soup, chicken thigh, cabbage with mayo, grilled tail, draft beer, yuzu sour, and lemon sour. Bon appétit!
