INNUENDO
When the building where the store is located was first built, it was an Origin Bento. I often bought a pork cutlet bowl for dinner after work. After it closed down, it became the second branch of Yakitori Yamachou, and then turned into a dried fish izakaya-like place, and now it has been quite a while as "Munann". I was curious but had never visited until now, when I finally decided to jump in with a friend. The interior is neat and surprisingly spacious. The atmosphere is bright and bustling, which is always a good sign in my experience. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, not just yakitori, and the prices are reasonable. The drink selection is also extensive. I started with a highball and the appetizer was simmered hijiki. I ordered the salted beef tendons, which were delicious. Their specialty, chikuwa isobeage, was a generous portion for only 390 yen. It came with mayonnaise but dipping it in the simmered beef tendon broth made it even tastier. I chose Tsuru Rei from the sake menu on the wall, and it was poured to the brim, challenging the surface tension limit. I also tried the celery sticks, beef harami, and chicken skin with ponzu, all of which were delicious. Of course, the yakitori was reasonably priced and tasty. Feeling adventurous, I also tried the hot water mixed with Isami shochu. When we asked for the bill, they brought us a complimentary miso soup, which was a nice touch. What impressed me the most was how quickly the orders were taken. Despite the restaurant being full when we arrived, the drinks were served within a minute. The dishes also came out promptly. The staff were all attentive and friendly. I regret not visiting this great izakaya sooner, despite passing by it countless times. The name "Munann" may sound ordinary, but it's a wolf in sheep's clothing!
