It's truly delicious. The combination of chicken and black vinegar sauce is irresistible!! I opted for extra chicken, and honestly, I could easily eat 3 or 4 more pieces. That's how tasty this set meal is. Once you take a bite, you can't stop. The black vinegar sauce brings out the flavors of the fried vegetables and meat perfectly. The sauce isn't overpowering, but just the right amount of seasoning. I always consider ordering something else, but I always end up choosing this. As a gourmet enthusiast who dines out frequently, I need to balance my meals daily. One of the great things about Ootoya is the option to choose multigrain rice. Eating only white rice can be bland, so multigrain rice always saves the day for me. Ootoya provides guilt-free dining experiences, making me want to come back regularly. I visited the restaurant after going to the gym, just before the last order. There were several groups waiting, but the inside of the restaurant was surprisingly spacious with seating available for individuals or groups. I ordered my usual dish, the Black Vinegar Ankake, which was as delicious as always. It had been a while since my last visit, so I was initially confused by the touchscreen ordering system, but it was great to have a wide range of options to choose from.

I went to Gotanda in the morning. As I was thinking about having breakfast at Yoshinoya, I saw a sign for breakfast service at the Ootoya Gotanda Higashiguchi Station Front store and decided to go in after a long time. After temperature check and disinfection, I was seated at the counter and looked at the menu. I ordered the simplest "Natto Morning Set 420 yen". I chose sunny-side-up eggs and five-grain rice. It arrived after a while. It looked colorful and refreshing. It was a great way to start the day. At the end of the counter, they were preparing the tablet device for lunch service. I didn't know that Ootoya had introduced tablets. It was my first time seeing it after a long time. I was invited by a senior and visited the Ootoya Gotanda Higashiguchi Ekimae store. I ordered the Miso-marinated charcoal-grilled pork loin (990 yen). I was very hungry so I got a large serving of rice. The dish had a strong miso aroma and the pork was very tasty with the rice. Ootoya is indeed delicious.

The restaurant "Otoya Gohan-dokoro Gotanda Higashiguchi-ekimae" is on the 2nd floor of the "Tomikuya・Nikka Joint Building" along Route 317 (Sony Street). I visited the restaurant and ordered the "Ume Oroshi Chicken Cutlet Set Meal" with extra chicken, extra rice, a raw egg, and natto. The restaurant is operated by Ootoya Holdings Co., Ltd. (headquarters in Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, established in May 1983). The restaurant has a spacious interior with jazz music playing. Most of the seating is table seating, but you can also enjoy a view of Gotanda Station from the counter seats by the window. Each table is equipped with a touch panel and buzzer, and you can choose between face-to-face payment or self-checkout. The set meal came with rice, miso soup, dashi broth, Japanese dressing, and pickles. The chicken cutlet was served in two layers with plum sauce and grated daikon radish on top. The atmosphere is bright and pleasant, with several people enjoying their breakfast at the window counter seats. I chose the "Natto Morning Set" which includes white rice, seasoned seaweed, chilled tofu with bonito flakes, soy sauce, natto, sesame salt, raw egg, shichimi (seven spice), chili paste, miso soup with seaweed, and dried radish pickles. I had some time so I visited the Ootoya Gotanda Higashiguchi Ekimae store. I ordered the Aroma Karaage set meal (790 yen). The karaage came with 4 pieces and they were fried just right, very delicious. It was satisfying to eat with lemon, the included Aroma salt, or with additional salt. The rice was also delicious, making it a very satisfying lunch. With the 500 yen coupon from the survey, the total came to 290 yen.

Today I had some free time so I visited the Ootoya Gotanda Higashiguchi Ekimae store. I ordered the grilled Okimeji sea bream marinated in soy sauce and koji (980 yen). It had a delicious taste typical of Ootoya. The rice was also served in a large portion for free, which left me satisfied. However, I wish the price was a bit cheaper, more in line with Ootoya's usual pricing.

Fragrant Fried Bento (limited time offer for 500 yen) - For today's home telework lunch, I decided to get a local meal. I saw a message from Pokeo saying that for the next three days, three popular bento boxes at Ootoya are available for just one coin! So, I decided to go for it today. I picked up the bento at the specified time, and when I got home and opened it up, I found the familiar Ootoya bento style. The rice and side dishes were separated, and you can get a free extra serving of rice, which is great! You can also change to multi-grain rice for free, which is fantastic! The fried chicken consisted of about four pieces, each weighing around 30g. The coating was made with a mixture of flour and water, giving it a crunchy texture. The chicken pieces were made from thigh meat, marinated with a salty and black pepper flavor. The unique aspect of this menu item is the Ootoya's special spice blend that you can sprinkle on top, which adds a complex flavor profile. When I sniffed the fragrant powder, I could detect cumin, oregano, followed by basil, and a hint of spicy red pepper lingering in the aftertaste. The strong cumin flavor reminded me of the unique ethnic spice blend found in inland Chinese cuisine, like the "lamb skewers." It was quite interesting! Apparently, you can buy this spice blend separately, so I might try using it as a substitute for crazy salt. Oh, and I ended up not using the lemon after all. The side dishes included the standard pickled radish, simmered hijiki seaweed with soybeans, and sautéed burdock with lotus root. I particularly enjoyed the tangy pickled radish! The rice was a generous serving of multi-grain rice, almost 300g. Since there was more rice than side dishes, I ended up finishing the leftover rice at home with some furikake seasoning. Overall, it was a satisfying and enjoyable meal. I quite like Ootoya, but I always feel like "if it were just 100 yen cheaper..." (even though I understand that the quality is worth the price). So, these kinds of promotions are always appreciated. The campaign runs until the 27th. Everyone, give Ootoya a try once in a while! 😄

I wanted to eat a hearty meal, so I went to a nearby Ootoya for the first time in a while. I was surprised to see that they had switched to a touch panel system! The menu was extensive and I had a hard time deciding, but I ended up choosing Chicken Nanban with barley miso soup and extra rice for a satisfying meal. The portion was generous and I couldn't finish all the chicken. Ootoya never disappoints whenever I visit. Next time, I will challenge myself with the Kaki Fry. So full and satisfied!

I was wondering where to have lunch when I came across a promotion for LINE Poko O offering two types of bento for 500 yen for 2 days only. I remembered how delicious the mackerel at Ootoya was, so I chose that. Ootoya is a bit far from my workplace and it takes time for the food to be served, so I had been avoiding it. But the mackerel was really tasty. With takeout, I can just go pick it up and even if I order extra rice, I can save some for later. It's convenient. It was quite busy during lunchtime.
