Around 2 o'clock, there was no wait when I arrived, but the place was full. I ordered the salt ramen. I usually don't like light-flavored ramen like salt or soy sauce, but the salt ramen here had a strong salt flavor and was very delicious. I will definitely come back again.

This might be my favorite ramen place. The salt flavor is highly recommended. It used to be in Shinjuku and Ikebukuro as well, but unfortunately closed, maybe due to the impact of the coronavirus. I had some business in Gotanda, so I came to eat after a long time. I was hungry, so I ordered the Chashu Ramen that day. Of course, with salt flavor. I always add seaweed as a topping. The seaweed goes so well with the soup. I love dipping the seaweed in the soup, wrapping it around the noodles, and eating it. I wanted to finish all the soup, but I left about a third because of the salt content. It was so delicious... I was completely satisfied after eating it for the first time in a while.

I first tried this place over 20 years ago. At that time, it was a battle between Tenkaippin and Santouka in the city. The last time I had it was near Harvard University in Boston. It seems like they have expanded overseas quite early and the place was quite busy. So, after a long time, I decided to visit again. The location seemed a bit tricky, but the exterior looked classy and global standard. I ordered the default salt flavor at the ticket machine by the entrance. I sat at the counter. The interior was chic. As I was looking around, my bowl arrived. The soup tasted just like I remembered - silky and light tonkotsu flavor. The salt flavor worked well. The noodles were thin and curly, mixing well with the soup. The chashu was flavorful and tender. And of course, Santouka is known for its crispy pickled plum, which added a refreshing touch. Overall, the balance of ingredients was perfect. I hope they continue to do well. Thank you for the meal.

It's been a while since I had Yamatoya Honten. This was my first visit to the Gotanda branch. It was still before 12 o'clock, so the restaurant was about half full. I couldn't decide between tsukemen and shoyu ramen, but I chose shoyu ramen in the end. It arrived in about 5 minutes. They provided a paper apron. It had been so long that I wondered if Yamatoya Honten always tasted like this. I had imagined it would be really rich and heavy. Instead of being heavy, it had a nice richness with a refreshing taste. The noodles seemed to have a low water content, giving them a unique texture. I was prepared for something heavy, so I was a little surprised, but I still found it easy to eat and enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal.

I tried tsukemen at a ramen restaurant in Gotanda, where there are many ramen shops! It was incredibly delicious. Thank you very much.

This time, I visited a ramen restaurant in Gotanda! This place was a big hit in the 90s ramen boom and it's been a while since my last visit. I don't remember where I ate last time, but I'm pretty sure my first time was at the Ebisu branch (which is now closed). I went on a weekday around 4 pm, and the restaurant was not crowded. It's nice that they have all-day service at odd hours. I ordered the salt ramen (950 yen). The soup was creamy and rich in pork bone flavor, and the noodles were thin and curly. The toppings included chashu, menma, wood ear mushrooms, naruto, green onions, and the signature umeboshi. The chashu was juicy and flavorful, and the fatty pork was also a popular choice. The umeboshi added a nice touch and palate cleanser. I wish the wood ear mushrooms had a bit more texture, but overall, it was delicious and I finished it all. It's consistently tasty here, so I should come more often.

Santoka Ramen is a ramen shop that used to be popular, but this was my first visit. I ordered the signature shio ramen with a soft-boiled seasoned egg on top. The soup seemed to be pork bone-based. Despite being called shio ramen, it wasn't very salty and had a gentle, slightly sweet flavor. The thin curly noodles matched well with the soup. However, as I continued eating, the sweetness of the soup started to feel a bit too much, and overall, it wasn't to my liking. The thick slices of chashu had a lingering pork smell, which I also didn't enjoy. The price was a bit on the higher side (including the seasoned egg topping, it was 1050 yen), making it a slightly disappointing bowl of ramen.

I visited the Yamagata Fire Gotanda branch near my workplace for lunch. I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen (950 yen). I had tried the salt flavor before, but this time I chose the spicy miso. Although the salt flavor is the specialty, I personally prefer the spicy miso. It was delicious, so I think I will visit again.

[First visit: 9/14/2022] I had some business in Gotanda. I used to go to Santoka along Meiji Street late at night and always be impressed by how delicious their ramen was. I remember they also had instant noodles, but I haven't had it in over 10 years. While looking for ramen in Gotanda, I happened to come across it. The reviews weren't great, with a common complaint being that the noodles were lacking. I can see where they're coming from, but honestly, I still find it delicious. The soup is as tasty as ever, with a light yet flavorful tonkotsu base, and the thick-sliced pork chashu is excellent. Overall, I think it's delicious, although the price of 950 yen does seem a bit high.

It's been about 20 years since I last visited the Kyoto branch. I don't remember anything about the taste, but today I went on a Wednesday at 11:35 am. There were about 5 people in the restaurant. I chose the recommended salt ramen from the ticket machine and added a spicy pork rice bowl set since it was salt-based and decided to skip the rice. The total came to 1240 yen. I sat at the counter and waited. The interior of the restaurant was well maintained and clean without any greasiness. The ramen arrived in less than 5 minutes, with a small pickled plum on top. I wasn't sure when to eat it! First, I tried the soup. It was a creamy and mild salt pork bone soup without any unpleasant smell. The noodles were thin and curly, lacking in fragrance and slightly lacking in firmness, almost like instant cup noodles. Overall, the ramen felt like an upgraded version of cup noodles due to the noodles. For 950 yen, the quality was quite disappointing. I don't think I would come back considering the noodles. Ratings out of 100 points: Noodles 30 points, Soup 80 points, Ingredients 80 points, Balance of Noodles and Soup 30 points, Cost Performance 60 points, Interior 80 points, Service 80 points, Overall 62.8 points. Rating Criteria: 0-49 points Unacceptable, 50-69 points Bad, 70 points Okay, 75 points Alright, 80 points Quite good, 85 points Very good, 90 points Excellent, 95 points Outstanding, 100 points Perfect! Note: These ratings are based on the assumption that ramen should be somewhat tasty, so a score below 80 means it's below average.

"Ishii's Solitary Gourmet" Long time no see, I felt like eating ramen and visited "Yamachan Gotanda Store" by bicycle. It's a well-known store, even appearing in cup ramen. You probably know it. You order with food tickets here. The must-try here is the classic Shio Ramen (900 yen). The milky white salt and pork bone soup has a charming creamy texture. The flavor and aroma of white sesame, along with thinly sliced wood ear mushrooms, add a nice texture. The noodles are firm as usual. They match the character of the soup well, making it smooth and slurpable. The biggest difference from cup ramen is this chashu pork! You can't replicate this melt-in-your-mouth texture. Mmm, delicious!! Finally, eat the crispy plum on top as a finishing touch! It's been a while since I had Yamachan... The cup ramen version is quite faithful, but I still prefer the restaurant version. (Of course, the price is different...) It was quite delicious (laughs)"

Located a little further down the Meguro River from Gotanda Station, this restaurant is known for its delicious hamburgers. Right nearby is the famous Meat Yuzawa. Because it is slightly off the main street, it seems that only those who have decided to come here after researching will visit. The first time I tried using Yokocho Hachijo was at the Gotanda branch, and it was quite a shockingly delicious experience at the time. It had been a while since I last visited, but the consistently delicious taste made me happy.

Along the Meguro River, quietly nestled next to Meet Yuzawa, is Ramen Santouka. It originated in Asahikawa and has become quite popular, even appearing in cup noodle form, but the Gotanda branch doesn't stand out much. I had been meaning to visit for a while, so I finally remembered and stopped by. The restaurant has around 10 counter seats and feels quite clean. There is a ticket machine at the entrance. I ordered the salt ramen for ¥900 and added a lunch set with simmered egg and small rice for an extra ¥150. The ramen was served in just 4 minutes, very fast. The toppings included simmered egg, menma, naruto, wood ear mushrooms, chashu, green onions, and crispy pickled plum. Santouka is known for its crispy pickled plum. The soup had a mild salt tonkotsu flavor, creamy and easy to drink. The noodles were slightly curly and thin, similar to cup noodles. The chashu was made of pork belly and had a good flavor, though it was quite ordinary. The simmered egg was incredibly soft-boiled, with a runny yolk that surprised me when I cut into it. It was delicious and well-seasoned. Overall, I liked the soup, but the restaurant gave off a chain store vibe. It felt like they were trying to maintain a consistent taste, like with Tenkaippin or Sakanaya. Maybe because I've gotten used to their cup noodles, the taste seemed somewhat familiar.

Gotanda "Yamatohotaru" is located about a 10-minute walk from Gotanda Station! I went during lunchtime, but luckily there were seats available and I didn't have to wait. I ordered the "Shio Ramen" for 850 yen. It was my first time at this ramen shop, so I went for the classic choice. I love wood ear mushrooms, so I was excited to see them in the ramen! The soup was a salt-based ramen, but it had a rich flavor similar to tonkotsu ramen, which I really enjoyed. I didn't order rice this time, but I think it would be amazing to have it together with the ramen!

I have only eaten cup noodles before, so I was looking forward to trying this place! The soup was very rich but also refreshing, with sesame seeds adding a nice touch. It was delicious! The staff were friendly, and it's a welcoming place for women dining alone. I would love to go back again.

I went to Gotanda. As I passed by "Yamagata Gotanda Store" along the Meguro River, the words "Curry Rice" caught my eye. I thought, "Yamagata's curry?" and decided to go in, but the curry was sold out. I was disappointed, but since I wanted something spicy, I ordered the "Spicy Miso Ramen" instead. In addition to the ramen, I added rice and a boiled egg, and the total price was over 1000 yen. I wondered why the ramen was so expensive as I ate it. I would like to try the curry next time. Thank you for the meal.

I entered the Meats Yazawa near Gotanda Station West Exit in Tokyo around 9:10 pm on March 19, 2020 (Thursday). I like the ramen here. The spicy miso is a bit lacking in impact but delicious. The spiciness is moderate. The small gyoza is also quite good. The restroom... Let's keep it clean, shall we? This is a bit... Restaurants' restrooms reflect the basic cleanliness and attitude of the entire establishment. Let's do our best.

Visited in mid-March 2020 for a late lunch. There was only one other customer inside. I purchased the Toroniku Ajitama Toromishio ramen for 990 yen from the ticket machine. Overall, the ramen was a bit on the pricey side. The dish arrived fairly quickly. It looked delicious. The noodles were medium-thin. The toroniku, flavored egg, and hot creamy soup were indeed tasty, but the noodles didn't quite match well with the soup, leaving something to be desired. Also, I'm not a fan of the type of menma used. Thank you for the meal. I have visited once before, and personally, it may just not be the best match for me. I would give it another try if the opportunity arises.

I went to Meat YASUZAWA for the first time in three years, but there was a long line... I couldn't make it in time for my meeting with a customer, so I gave up and went to Yamatouka, which was a little further down. I parked at a parking meter for 300 yen for 60 minutes and sat at a vacant seat at the counter. I've had Yamatouka's salt ramen at other restaurants before, so this time I tried their soy sauce tsukemen. The customer next to me got their shio ramen first. Tsukemen does take some time to prepare after all. Despite that, it was served in about 8 minutes. The thick straight noodles were cooked firm and had a chewy texture. The dipping sauce was a flavorful soy sauce base with a sesame fragrance and a layer of oil on the surface, staying hot until the end. The toppings included chopped green onions, white sesame seeds, crunchy menma, diced chashu, and a jelly-like flavored egg yolk. It was delicious. I'll definitely come back again.

I visited for lunch. I have been here before. I ordered the soy sauce char siu ramen. I chose the A set with half rice and flavored egg. Looking around, it seems like salt ramen is popular here. Now, the soy sauce char siu ramen has arrived. Let's eat! The soup is piping hot, be careful not to burn yourself. The bowl seemed a bit small. I thought it might be too little, but it was enough. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.
