I have been living in Inagi for over 16 years and have been stopping by Beniten Street every week, but I didn't notice until recently. I buy honey from various places including overseas, but the quality of the honey here is not inferior to those from top domestic producers like Shinshu and Nishi-Tama, and it is very reasonably priced!! Highly recommended.

Located just off the main street of Benten-dori Shopping Street in Inagi, you will find the honey specialty shop "Tama Bee Farm." The small shop offers around 20 different types of honey, including natural propolis and royal jelly. On the rooftop, you can see beehives lined up. They allow you to sample rare honeys as well. Since they sell directly from their bee farm, the prices are quite affordable. I purchased four 50g trial sizes, including the smooth and fruity "Inagi Acacia," the rich and deep sweetness of "Inagi Honey," the unique "Ume Honey," and the distinct "Tochi Honey." You can try rare honeys in trial sizes and choose larger bottles of your favorites at a great price. The allure of being able to buy high-quality natural honey at direct sale prices is truly appealing.

Tama Beekeeping Farm in Inagi City, Tokyo Recommended Rating for Honey and Royal Jelly: ★★★★★ Located in a residential area a short distance from Benten-dori near JR Nanbu Line Yanokuchi Station, this honey shop is easy to spot with a sign that says "honey" as you enter the narrow street. You can park your car next to the shop, but be aware that there are beehives lined up right next to the shop and on the roof, so you might be momentarily startled by the buzzing bees. The shop offers various sizes of honey, with 19 different types of flowers. It's hard to choose from the classic varieties like acacia, rape blossom, citrus mix (several types of citrus fruits), buckwheat, rapeseed, clover, white clover, and even a rare variety called Urazakura from Gifu Prefecture. Honey comes in clear and cloudy varieties. The cloudy ones have a high glucose (grape sugar) content and crystallize into granules with a rough texture. When heated, the crystals dissolve and the honey becomes clear. I sampled some at the shop and ended up buying the classic acacia honey this time, which cost 920 yen for 300g. This beautiful golden honey has a rich yet sharp sweetness that is truly wonderful. The fact that there is a beekeeping farm in a place like Inagi is quite remarkable and has garnered a lot of attention, with many photos and posters from TV and media appearances displayed in the shop.

I had some errands to run, so I rode my bike across the Keio Tamagawa Bridge and arrived in Inagi after a long time. It's more like Inagi Land, or should I say Keio Yomiuri Land? I used to visit a friend in Inagi who lived surrounded by pear orchards. My friend once told me about a honey shop on Benten Street in Land, a little off the main road. I wondered what kind of shop a honey shop would be. Would it be a trendy and cute shop like the ones in Karuizawa or Kiyosato? Well, let me tell you, it was nothing like that at all! There was no sense of sophistication whatsoever (laughs). And there didn't seem to be any business sense either, right? The shop was located at the corner of the butcher shop on Benten Street. It had a very open layout that made you wonder if this could even be called a shop... Yes, indeed, it is a shop. Various types of honey were displayed in a very unprotected manner. I was surprised to the point where I thought, if someone were to just take something and run, would anyone even notice? I was taking photos with my phone when I heard a sound, and a woman came out from what seemed like an office. Before coming here, I had quickly checked the location on Tabelog and saw that you could sample the honey... But I couldn't bring myself to say, "Can I have a taste?" to this woman (T-T). It was like, she didn't seem approachable or easy to talk to... I tried saying that I didn't need that much, just a little bit of each, but it was rejected (laughs). She did, however, recommend two or three types of honey that were easy to eat. I ended up buying the Acacia honey, which was light and easy to eat with a subtle sweetness. Once I started using it in cooking, it disappeared in no time, so maybe I should have bought a kilogram. I feel like it's more reliable than buying it at the supermarket, so I plan to go back and buy more. Next time, I'll try to muster up the courage to ask for a taste... (laughs) Hehe. Thank you for the meal♪

-Unusual honey specialty store (staffed) <Ordering method> Directly to the staff <Time from ordering to serving> Immediately <Ordered items> Several types of red deer honey <Interior atmosphere> Normal/cute cats <Menu items that caught attention other than the ordered items> Other types of honey <BGM> None <Parking/car access> - Parking lot is next to the store. Turn at the T-junction where there is a butcher shop on Benten Street, and it's right there. - A bit hard to find. Access is somewhat difficult. <Other> - You can sample the products, making it a valuable manned sales location where you can purchase with confidence.

The train stations nearby, Keio Yomiuriland Station or JR Nanbu Line Yanokuchi Station, may be difficult to find, but I managed to locate it by bicycle. It is located near Inagi Shichisho Elementary School, in a residential area that only locals would know. However, the honey they sell there is surprisingly good. Do you know those 1kg honey jars sold in supermarkets for a few hundred yen? They are often diluted with syrup to increase the quantity. Normally, pure Japanese honey should cost around 3000 yen/kg. I have tried various honeys, and there is a noticeable difference. You can also taste samples in the store and choose your preferred honey variety. Have you ever tried real honey from any beekeeping farm? For those near Inagi, why not explore the area by bicycle and discover this hidden gem? P/S: Honey should not be heated as it can become bitter. It is best enjoyed as it is or with plain yogurt or as a dressing.

I received this honey from MyReviewer. Embarrassingly, this is my first time trying proper domestic honey. I had just finished using the organic honey from the American gourmet supermarket Whole Foods, and as soon as I tasted a spoonful of this one, I was surprised by the difference! The glossy, light golden color is so beautiful. The light color is a characteristic of acacia honey, right? The initial sweetness is refreshing and free of any off-flavors. The unique richness of honey gradually emerges. The pure and clear aroma is lovely. I thought it would go well with black tea. It also mixes well with cold yogurt. I also used it to sweeten a flavored egg. Thank you for this precious gift.
