It made me realize that Ginza is a lively night district where people buy souvenirs for their loved ones or families. I decided to buy the highly praised cream puffs, getting the plain one for 400 yen and the caramel one for 450 yen. I also picked a cake, the rum raisin flavor for 600 yen, which my husband loves. The staff carefully packed the pastries in a box and tied it with a string, which brought back nostalgic memories of how things used to be done. It's rare to see shops that still tie a string around the box these days. They charged for the bag, but since I had my eco bag with me, they kindly placed the pastries inside it for me due to my bulky items. The service was very polite. Both the cream puffs and the rum raisin cake were delicious and satisfying.

According to their website, they opened in Ginza 7-chome in 1969, the year after the Tokyo Olympics. It appears to be unrelated to a similarly named shop that was located in Hongo. They pride themselves on using no additives in their sweets. I decided to try their traditional Western confection, the Mont Blanc made with European chestnuts, priced at 650 yen. I declined the Ginza-priced shopping bag, paid with a cashless method, carried the dessert home in an open box, and enjoyed it as an after-dinner treat with rum. The cake was described as a "soft soufflé sponge filled with chestnut cream infused with rum, and plenty of French chestnut paste" - a true "adult cake".

Ginza Omiya Western confectionery store. I often purchase here but it's been a while since I posted. On this day, I bought the new product, a set of 6 crepes. There were 3 strawberry crepes and 3 banana crepes. The whipped cream is not too sweet and delicious. The set of 6 crepes costs ¥1800, which is affordable and perfect for gifts or souvenirs. It's been a while since there was a new product at Ginza Omiya Western confectionery store. This is highly recommended.

"Japanese Chestnut Mont Blanc" for 550 yen is a seasonal item. It uses Japanese chestnuts, which are whole inside and on top. As the staff mentioned, it does have a Japanese confectionery-like taste. Personally, I preferred the regular Mont Blanc. The fact that they are open until late in such a location is quite appealing.

I randomly stopped by in Ginza without any information and chose this rare cheesecake. It's been a long time since I had rare cheesecake. Besides the ones that come in a course, the only one I would actively seek out is Gin no Budou's rare cheesecake. I took a bite and was surprised. A nostalgic flavor spread in my mouth. When it comes to rare cheesecakes, this one is the classic, not trying to be fancy. It's not too heavy, has the right amount of richness and a dense, sticky creaminess. The sweetness is just right. It was so delicious that I had to have another slice. I feel like I could easily eat half a whole cake in one go. It's nice that they are open late in the club district of Ginza. However, it is indeed expensive... ¥4,500 for a whole cake (tax included). Nevertheless, it was a taste that I would want to eat again.
