Today, I had lunch in Shibuya at 5 o'clock♪... I mean, during the afternoon. In the midst of the bustling crowds on a Sunday, I headed to this place on the 7th floor of Shibuya Parco. Hakata tempura is usually associated with fast food. Hakata locals tend to eat tempura quickly and leave, while people from Edo (Tokyo) prefer to leisurely enjoy tempura with sake. You can have unlimited servings of pickled vegetables and spicy cod roe. I ordered a set meal with a draft beer and meat tempura. A cold draft beer on a holiday afternoon is just perfect♪ The pickled vegetables and spicy cod roe go well with the beer. I ended up having multiple refills of the beer. The tempura is served in three rounds. The freshly fried tempura is crispy and delicious with just salt. The meat tempura tastes much better with salt than with dipping sauce. The grated daikon radish sitting in the dipping sauce is a great accompaniment for the sake (laughs). I finished the tempura in no time, so I ordered an additional simmered egg tempura. When you break it open on the rice, the golden and delicious tempura drips down. I quickly finished it all off. It may not be the kind of tempura you leisurely savor, but personally, I might like it more than other chain restaurants. Thank you for the meal♪

◆Alcohol Set for 1,780 yen Can you really eat this for 1,780 yen? Honestly, the pricing at chain restaurants is hard to match for individual ones. The tempura is not served as a mixed assortment, but rather each piece is brought out separately. It's not one piece at a time, but rather multiple pieces served in succession. Specifically, you first get sardine and pork tempura, followed by burdock and pumpkin, and finally squid, sweet potato, and shrimp to finish. I think it was my first time trying sardine and pork tempura, and surprisingly, it was good! Everything is served piping hot, which makes it delicious! Freshly fried tempura is the best, after all. Also, it's nice that you can have kombu mentaiko as a small side dish. The interior of the restaurant is stylish, making it a good option for a lunch date. I'm here enjoying tempura with a beer by myself during the day, and it's also great.

Takao Tendon ★★★☆☆ Just an average tempura rice bowl. The set meal that everyone else was eating looked more delicious. The staff members were all speaking very quietly through their masks, and because my Spanish partner was with me, they were speaking in very basic English that was hard to understand... More than half of the customers were foreigners, so it's a bit sad that they don't provide better English education. They even called their specialty mentaiko "fish egg"...

@naotaka_cafegram Hakata Tempura Takao in Shibuya Located on the 7th floor of Shibuya Parco, this is a place where you can enjoy freshly fried tempura. The interior has a sophisticated and chic atmosphere with a sense of luxury, yet you can enjoy lunch or dinner with tempura and mentaiko (spicy cod roe) for under 2000 yen. It's a great spot for a casual drink as well, pairing tempura and mentaiko with alcohol. Plus, you can get refills of mentaiko and pickles! The tempura is freshly fried, and the cost performance is good, making it perfect for a date. A few years ago, I learned about Fukuoka gourmet tempura. I had freshly fried tempura at "Hirao" and it was delicious, especially the lightly flavored yuzu squid salted fish eggs (all-you-can-eat). I occasionally visit similar restaurants in Osaka and Tokyo. I visited "Takao," which boasts "Hakata tempura." The Takao set meal costs ¥1,500. Instead of squid salted fish eggs, you can have unlimited servings of mentaiko seaweed and pickles, so I asked for extra rice (free) and got a surprisingly huge portion. The mentaiko seaweed is spicy and goes well with the rice. The pickles even had lotus root, which added a nice crunchy texture. The hot miso soup is not the sweet light Hakata-style, but a type that everyone would enjoy. The tempura of the day included horse mackerel, pork, sweet potato, eggplant, burdock root, shrimp, and squid, all of which were delicious. I particularly liked the thick and fluffy horse mackerel and burdock root. It reminded me of tempura udon. The Shibuya Parco was renovated a few years ago, so the prices may be slightly high, but it is clean and quite stylish. There is cold black oolong tea on the table. I recommend Hakata tempura.

On a regular day just before 12 o'clock, the restaurant was about 30% full. They are still taking measures against COVID-19, with partitions set up at the counter every two seats, so even if you go alone, you will use the seats for two people at the counter. I ordered the seasonal vegetable tempura (1600 yen). They serve 2-3 items of freshly fried tempura at a time. They explain each one, but their voice is so soft that I couldn't hear. I couldn't hear, so I kept checking the menu to see if everything had been served. The tempura itself, made with seasonal vegetables, was small and lacked a fluffy texture, being crispy instead. And the shrimp was small. For the all-you-can-eat pickles and mentaiko, you have to call the staff to get more, but the atmosphere made it difficult to do so, which was a shame.

Meat tempura set meal for 1,500 yen. I visited during a weekday lunchtime. Located in the restaurant floor of Shibuya Parco, it was crowded with many customers. Waited in line for about 10 minutes before getting seated. After ordering the set meal, I received rice and miso soup in about 5 minutes. The appetizer of kombu mentaiko was delicious, so I enjoyed it with the rice. Then, the tempura for the set meal was served one by one as they were freshly fried, and each tempura was excellent, especially when eaten with the wasabi salt on the table. Overall, I was very satisfied with the meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

Recommended by a friend, I was drawn to the stylish atmosphere of the tempura counter and decided to dine there. I visited with a friend, but it seems like a place where I could easily come alone as well. Tempura always feels special because I don't make it myself. The free meitaikonbu (spicy cod roe and kelp) was delicious as expected! It was worth it for those who come for this dish. The tempura was crispy and tasty! The location is good, and although it's a bit pricey for lunch, I would like to go back as a treat!

I ordered the Takao set meal and added the sasami with shiso leaf roll. They have a system where they serve freshly fried tempura in small portions in the Hakata style. You can have as much mentaiko and pickles as you want, and the oolong tea is free-flowing. I found the sardine tempura to be quite unusual. The pork loin was also delicious. I would like to try other set meals as well. It would be even better if the prices were a bit more reasonable.

Sometimes I crave this tempura place~ Today I was lucky to get in without waiting in line! I sat at the counter near the entrance. I always order the "Takao Tempura Set," which has increased in price from 1100 yen to 1300 yen since before the pandemic, but it's still delicious. I enjoy the tempura with wasabi salt and tempura dipping sauce. I got a regular size of rice and of course, extra mentaiko. I also got a refill of pickles. I will definitely visit again! Thank you for the meal!!

The pre-appetizer pickled vegetables and spicy cod roe were delicious, and the tempura, with two pieces each, was crispy and hot, making it very tasty! The dessert, a crispy monaka with a hint of rum, had a nice balance between the crispy shell and the sweet filling. Although there may be a wait, it's a restaurant worth lining up for because the food is so good.

The restaurant had a calm atmosphere which was very nice! The tempura is served in small batches of 2-3 pieces, so you get to enjoy them fresh! The shrimp was particularly delicious and had a nice texture. The mentaiko (spicy cod roe) was refillable and went really well with the rice. By the way, I bought some mentaiko to take home! Haha.

At a high-class tempura restaurant, they bring out freshly fried tempura one by one right in front of you! The vegetables and meat are all delicious, especially the meat tempura which is juicy and tender. The cost performance is excellent. It's a popular spot where there always seems to be a line during lunchtime! I also ordered additional mentaiko tempura, which was incredibly delicious.

The tempura was delicious as they served it fresh, but the service was disappointing. We had to wait a while after being seated for the menu to be brought to us, and when we asked, we were told, "It's under the table." It would have been better if they had greeted us and handed us the menu when they seated us. There were a few other things that bothered us, so we probably won't be going back.

I wanted to visit this restaurant once. This chain store has a nationwide presence, but I didn't know the name because I don't go to Canal City. Takao Teishoku for 1,300 yen with mashed potatoes and green onions. I wonder how they manage to pay the rent at Shibuya Parco with these prices. The restaurant inside Parco is clean and all the dishes are delicious. The pork tempura, seafood, and vegetables are all above average. However, the operation is not good. There is only one person frying, the restaurant has 14 seats, and the service is too slow. Many people use it as an izakaya, so the turnover rate is too low. The pickled vegetables and mentaiko are served too late, and my companion was getting irritated. The last serving of mentaiko is extremely spicy, almost like they intentionally added habanero to make it spicier. If they don't increase the turnover rate, it could be a problem. The atmosphere is not good, it feels like they lack motivation. If they don't make people from Kanto understand the Fukuoka style, they will fall into a cycle of leisurely use. It's difficult to make customers understand that it's a place to eat quickly.

There were many foreign customers. The seat next to me was occupied by a group of Taiwanese or Chinese women. I also brought my friends from overseas who were traveling with me. The menu was the same for both lunch and dinner. The cheapest set for 1300 yen allows you to choose between more meat or seafood. The seafood set included shrimp, white fish, pork, pumpkin, and green peppers, all freshly fried and delicious. Pickled vegetables and spicy cod roe were all you can eat. Extra rice was free for lunch only. The restaurant is located in the restaurant area above Parco, with a great location. On the 10th floor, there is a free observation deck (although it's cold) where you can enjoy the night view and take photos. You can even see the small Tokyo Tower. The lighting is in Yayoi Kusama's dot version.

This shop is a tempura restaurant in Fukuoka located in Shibuya Parco. I stopped by because they offer reasonably priced set meals even at night. The interior is modern with mostly counter seats, creating a nice atmosphere. I visited around 7:30 pm on a weekday, and the restaurant was almost full. There wasn't a line when I arrived, but by the time I left around 8:00 pm, there was a line of about 15 people. They had chairs set up for waiting, indicating that this is a popular spot with lines forming regularly. I ordered their popular "Takao Ten Teishoku for 1,300 yen including tax". Additionally, I received a free tempura dish by registering on their app, so I got the tempura. The tempura is served in 2-3 pieces at a time, ensuring that you always get it freshly fried and hot. The tempura was pretty good, but towards the end, it felt a bit heavy on the stomach. I personally prefer tempura that is a bit crispier. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

When my mother came to Tokyo in December to help me move, we went to a store to buy futons and blankets, and ended up feeling hungry. We rushed into Shibuya Parco nearby. My mother likes Japanese food and can't eat meat, so finding a restaurant was quite difficult. We stumbled upon "Takao" and decided to give it a try. It turned out to be a chain restaurant. The spacious interior was nice. We decided to order squid for 180 yen, shrimp for 260 yen, chicken for 200 yen, boiled egg for 220 yen, and rice. The system where they grill the food right in front of you and serve it crispy was amazing. The food was delicious, but I couldn't help but worry about the cost performance - can they provide such quality at this price in Parco? I would love to go back again!

Seasonal vegetable set meal for 1400 yen. It came with lightly pickled vegetables, spicy cod roe with kelp, miso soup, and rice. The vegetable selection included shiitake mushrooms, maitake mushrooms, long yam, kisu (Japanese parsley), and shrimp. The dishes were served in pairs, so they were hot and freshly fried. The explanation by the older man was hard to hear, but the dishes were quite delicious, especially when eaten with wasabi salt or tempura dipping sauce. I finished every last bite of rice with the miso soup, pickled vegetables, and spicy cod roe. If the number of foreign visitors increases, this place might become less frequented by locals. The 6th floor is dedicated to gaming, while the old Parco only had up to 3 floors, I think.
