I was informed by a friend on June 7th that CoCo Ichibanya now offers level 15 spiciness from June 1st to 15th. The next day, I found myself irresistibly drawn to CoCo Ichibanya Kanda Station North Exit store during snack time. Even though I'm on a diet. I regret my decision. I arrived around 2:35 PM, with 4 customers already inside. I sat at a counter seat near the entrance and looked at the menu. I ordered the Pork Curry @591 yen with level 15 spiciness (+130 yen), half vegetables (+125 yen), and onion and green chili pickles (+52 yen) as toppings, along with a salad set (+140 yen). A foreign staff member asked me if I had ever eaten level 15 spiciness before, to which I replied that it was my first time but I thought I could handle it. Later, I noticed on the menu that level 15 spiciness is only available to those who have completed level 10 spiciness before. I should have been asked if I had tried level 10 spiciness. My visits to CoCo Ichibanya are usually only a few times around the beginning of February for the spoons, so I didn't know that you could choose 150g of rice. After some research, I found out that you could choose 150g of rice even before, although the ordering method has changed over time. I was not aware that the option of choosing 150g of rice was available. The increase in sweetness used to be a paid service and a free self-service, but now it is only a free self-service. I didn't know that either. The salad and three types of dressing arrived 6 minutes after ordering, followed by the curry rice and onion and green chili pickles 7 minutes later. Despite the lack of customers, it felt like it took a long time. I prepared the salad with non-oil dressing, topped the rice with Fukujinzuke, and served the onion and green chili pickles on the side. The salad consisted of cabbage, lettuce, and corn. The Pork Curry (with half vegetables topping) contained carrots, potatoes, green beans, and pork. Since I am on a diet, I opted for the half vegetables topping, but it ended up increasing my sugar and carbohydrate intake. I should have just stuck with the salad. The onion and green chili pickles helped refresh my mouth. I liked them. Now, let me share my thoughts on the level 15 curry sauce. It has a stronger chili smell compared to level 10. While I could feel some spiciness, it wasn't significantly different from level 10. It wasn't too spicy, so I didn't need water while eating, and my mouth didn't hurt after finishing. (I drink water when I feel it's spicy, but I don't drink any if it's extremely spicy as it would make my mouth burn.) For those who eat curry frequently and consider themselves curry enthusiasts, I don't think this spiciness would be too challenging. I would love to hear your thoughts if you try it. It was my first time having 150g, and it was just the right amount. I plan to go for level 15, 150g next time as well. Thank you for the meal.
