There were only cream and red bean paste flavors available! Each was 170 yen. I bought 11 as souvenirs ♫ They were quite big! There were only 2 red bean paste left, and I was told it would take about 30 minutes for the next batch to be ready, so I went for a cream fest! The thickness was shocking haha. They were delicious! ♫

I went there on a Saturday afternoon. It is said to be the thickest in Japan, and it really is. However, if you prefer a thinner skin with more red bean paste, this may not be for you. It takes some time to bake, but even if they are sold out, you can buy one in about 15 minutes. There are chairs inside the shop, but eating inside is not allowed. There are benches outside the shop, so I recommend eating it there while it's still hot.

Thick and filled with lots of ingredients, it's the best!! Bringing it back as a souvenir will surely make everyone happy! "Taiyaki Specialty Shop Kenzou" in Jujo.

I always found it difficult to buy during the day because it's usually crowded with students from Tokyo Women's Christian University, Seitoku University, and Teikyo University of Science. However, I was able to buy it at night when no one was around. I often buy takoyaki at "Tekoya" in Jūjō Ginza, but the takoyaki here is big. It's very satisfying to eat. Next time, I'll try buying taiyaki when there are no girls around.

This time, I visited the taiyaki shop "Kenzou" in front of Jujo Station.

Wait time: None
The taiyaki dough at "Kenzou" is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, so it's best to eat it fresh out of the oven! When I ordered, it was just the right timing for freshly baked taiyaki, so there was no wait time. However, those who came in later had to wait for about 5-10 minutes.
The turnover rate seems quite good, so you don't have to wait too long. The cost performance is also good, making it a perfect snack for foodies. Thank you for the delicious taiyaki.

Takikun is a big eater who probably has twice the normal appetite. The anko is a limited edition matcha flavor. The simple dough is thick and very satisfying. The sweet and slightly bitter matcha anko goes well together. Matcha and takikun go well together. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is said to be the thickest taiyaki in Japan (announced by the shop). The taiyaki is farm-raised. The seasonal filling was sweet potato (baked sweet potato paste). Other options included cream, salted red bean paste, and red bean paste. Each one costs 150 yen. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious.

150 Taiko-yaki shop in Ogura Anjou. A popular shop among students. I was curious, so I decided to buy some. That day, there was a man and a woman working. The female staff was kind, but the man was extremely cold. Disappointing service. The Ogura An filling was thick. It's surprisingly heavy. It's almost like a meal in itself. Because the skin is thick, the filling is a bit overwhelmed, so it's not recommended for those who want to mainly taste the filling. However, the skin is chewy and delicious, so it provides a satisfying feeling. I would like to visit again. Rating: 3.27 as of November 2021.

"The thickest taiyaki in Japan⁉️【Taiyaki specialty store Kenzou】Matcha red bean paste 170 yen Located in front of Jujo Station, Kenzou's taiyaki is said to be the thickest in Japan⁉️ I purchased their taiyaki. Made with matcha from Makinohara, Shizuoka, the taiyaki has a fluffy texture with a rich matcha red bean paste filling, as thick as a Japanese dictionary‼️ The dough itself is thick, and the red bean paste is not too sweet, just the right amount of sweetness◎ I enjoyed the piping hot taiyaki on a bench outside the shop."

I went with my friend and we were interested in trying the taiyaki at Kenzou's shop. The staff's customer service was great and we were happy about that. I tried the taiyaki with sweet red bean paste filling and it was delicious. The price was also reasonable and we were satisfied. The taiyaki was quite filling, so I thought it would be nice if they sold smaller sizes in a pack for souvenirs. Thank you for the meal! I will definitely visit again!

Kenzo-san's concept is to make the thickest taiyaki in Japan. They offer four flavors: matcha, salted red bean, cream, and red bean, with seasonal flavors also available. The taiyaki is priced at 150 yen each, so I decided to take two to go. As many reviews mention, the taiyaki is incredibly thick, almost like two taiyaki combined, and can even stand upright. The outside is fluffy, while the inside is chewy. I particularly enjoy the slightly lumpy texture of the batter. The volume is impressive, and the flavors are consistent. The "sakura red bean" has a subtle hint of salted sakura leaves, while the "custard" is rich and creamy. They are known for putting double the amount of red bean filling compared to others. Overall, I prefer Kenzo-san's taiyaki over the traditional ones.

The location is about a 1-minute walk from JR Jujo Station South Exit. I ordered a red bean taiyaki for ¥150. Overall, the taiyaki was thick and visually appealing, with a satisfying taste. The product quality is rated 65 points, service 60 points, and cleanliness 60 points. The overall rating is 62 points out of 100. I would like to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

Kenzo, a popular taiyaki shop in front of the station, boasts of being the thickest in Japan. The taiyaki is indeed very thick, providing a satisfying bite. While the amount of filling is average, the thick skin sets it apart. The crispy surface is not too heavy, allowing the sweetness of the filling to shine through. Despite being the only customer that day, when I ordered three taiyaki, I was told they only had two left. Clearly, it's a popular spot. I always feel like I have to wait a bit for them to finish cooking, but I can't resist stopping by for their delicious taiyaki.

I can't help but be drawn to thick cuts of meat and toast! So I decided to visit a taiyaki shop in Jujo Station that is rumored to have the thickest taiyaki in Japan, called Kenzou. (By the way, the largest taiyaki in Japan seems to be in Shizuoka Prefecture.) The taiyaki costs 150 yen each (tax included) and comes in red bean paste, cream, salted red bean paste, and matcha red bean paste flavors. You can see them baking the taiyaki from outside, and they do look quite thick. It seems to be bulging out and looking plump. I tried the red bean paste flavor on this day. It was quite heavy. Indeed, it is thick. The taiyaki is standing up! (Like Clara standing up) It seems like each one is fused together. The amount of dough is generous, providing a satisfying eating experience. It was indeed a thick taiyaki as rumored!

Located in Itabashi Honcho, this taiyaki shop is the second branch of the main store. They claim to have the thickest taiyaki in Japan. In the past, there used to be a taiyaki shop in every town, but recently the number seems to be decreasing due to the diversification of sweets preferences. However, "Kenzo" in Jujo is differentiating itself with its thickness. The taiyaki is indeed very thick. Personally, I prefer cream filling. The outer skin is crispy, and the custard inside is overflowing but not overly sweet, making it enjoyable until the last bite. Although I wish the manager had a bit more charm, perhaps this level of friendliness is just right for a taiyaki shop. The fact that you can get one for just 140 yen, considering its size, is surprisingly affordable. If you're lucky enough to have it fresh, the taste becomes even more delicious, so I recommend giving it a try and hoping for some luck.

I love it! It's delicious! The old man may not be very friendly, but the taiyaki is perfect for breakfast! I end up buying it every time I come. The limited edition matcha flavor is recommended. And it's only 170 yen including tax, which is so cheap!

I had never had a fluffy taiyaki like this before! I was so hungry, so I was really happy haha. I wonder if they have a stuffed toy of Taiyaki-kun? I really want one.

The pancakes are thick and filling. The seasonal limited-time products change with the season. This time, the sweet potato filling had a strong sweet potato flavor and was delicious.

The crust is crispy, the inside is fluffy, and the sweet bean paste is delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. It is thick and heavy, but you can easily finish it in one go. It's only ¥170, so cheap! The limited-time black sesame flavor was also delicious.

A thick-skinned taiyaki in Japan. It is indeed thick, so it is suitable for those who like the dough. Limited-time menus come out regularly so you won't get tired of it.
