At Tokyo Solamachi, there is a bakery that offers half-price on their products only at night. Because of the discount, I end up buying 5 or 6 items at once. My favorite bread from this bakery is the baked apple bread. It is covered with plenty of honey from baked apples on the outside, and inside, it is filled with lots of apples like an apple pie. It is more affordable and delicious compared to apple pies from pastry shops. It achieves the taste of an apple pie with bread. If you like baked apples, you should definitely try it. I like bakeries that sell products at half-price at night because they don't carry over the products to the next day. This means that they offer fresh products every day. Most pastry shops don't discard leftover products and sell them the next day. For example, if it's a Mont Blanc, you can tell right away because the cream is hard. I wish they would only make as much as they can sell for that day.

The system where the more apple danishes you buy, the more cost-effective it becomes, resulted in me buying 7 of them. I get 2 of them for myself, why is that! The chestnut danish is filled with cream and the dough is not bad. The dough is surprisingly light for a danish. The baked apple danish is sweet like a quince aman and has a texture of leftover apples. It has a lot of volume and a satisfying sweetness. I didn't expect much since it's a baguette, but I apologize. It's actually quite good.

When I went after 7:00 PM, there was a sign saying "3 breads priced at 240-320 yen for 500 yen," and I thought it was a great deal. However, the breads I chose with a price tag of 320 yen each turned out to be made by "Sanwa Laurent Corporation," which was surprising. It's the same bread as the one from Hirai's Panzo, but the prices are completely different! The chocolate castella danish at Panzo is 180 yen, but here it's 340 yen. There doesn't seem to be any difference in the bread or packaging. After trying it, I couldn't tell what makes it a danish. It doesn't have the layers or the crispy texture. It's just a mass-produced bread you can find at a supermarket. And to think this bread costs 340 yen...? If you're a tourist, maybe you'd accept paying over 300 yen for this level of quality in Tokyo. So, I regret buying 3 breads for 500 yen at Panzo, both in terms of price and taste.

Baked apple like a quinamman. It might be crispy if eaten as is, but I tried baking it. The filling apple is hot and the layered dough is crispy. The baked cheese has a cream cheese filling. Both could be a little smaller.

The plain white bread was not great, but this time I tried the six-grain bread. It's bigger than the usual bread these days. The crumb is fluffy~♪ I cut off the thick crust for sandwiches. It's too dry when toasted, so I left it.

Skytree has a special lighting display in the image of the Japanese national flag to show support for TEAM JAPAN participating in the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. The famous shop featured on Matsuko's "Night Strolling in the City" for its condensed milk bread was out of bread by closing time, so I bought an Apple Pie (380 yen tax included) with a note saying "baked apple (apple pie? apple danish? try it)". It looks just like a croissant. The caramelized (?) sugar-coated surface is crispy. The inside has a slight danish feel. The filling has cinnamon-flavored apples, but very little of it. The backside has melted sugar that looks like icing. This is a croissant with sweetened apples. It's delicious but with the danish, sugar coating, and apple filling, it's too scary to think about the calories. Yikes!! Soramachi 2F food section.-------------------------Last year during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Skytree had a special display which is featured here↓. I went to a bakery and purchased a set of assorted fresh anpan. The flavors included were salted red bean paste, chocolate, chunky red bean paste, smooth red bean paste, and matcha. They come with a lucky draw. You can take them home frozen and they will be ready to eat in about 30 minutes. The chocolate one has a chocolate flavor in the dough as well as chocolate-flavored red bean paste with cream inside. The salted red bean paste one has a soft dough and a lightly salty taste. The matcha one provides a sweet and bitter taste when eaten with the cream. It was a great deal.

It's been a while since I came to Tokyo Solamachi! Looks like the crowds have returned (*^▽^*) Let's buy some bread for tomorrow morning! Oh, is Panzoh collaborating with Genroku-Do? Come to think of it, Genroku-Do seems to be moving its store locations! They have a set for 500 yen where you can choose. I'll get the Panzoh premium bread for 324 yen and one savory bread for a coin (*^▽^*) I'll go for the most expensive one, Wiener & Mixed Cheese for 240 yen ( ^ω^ ) I'm frugal, haha. The bread is 6 slices, it's considered premium but pretty normal... Well, it's better than being overly sweet. The Wiener & Mixed Cheese is just as the name suggests (laughs)

There was a bakery where Matsuko went on a shopping spree. If you buy a single item, a croissant costs 270 yen, but if you buy three, they become 500 yen, which is a normal price. My daughter left more than half of a double cheese France (240 yen if bought individually), so I tried it and found that it tasted like a bread you can find at a convenience store.

There was a stall next to the ticket gate entrance at Nishi-Arai Station. I knew they also have stores in Kitasenju Marui and Tokyo Solamachi. Today, 8/8, was the last day. As I passed by, I saw the sign saying "50% off". When I asked for four red bean paste buns, the person said "Five for 500 yen". So I quickly changed my order to three red bean paste buns, one sweet bean paste bun, and one matcha bean paste bun, buying five in total. My impression is that they are small. At 216 yen, they are expensive. I was more satisfied when they were 100 yen each. The sweetness was just right. The cream was not too sweet, and the sweetness did not linger in my mouth.

Next to Amaladeli, there used to be a Chinese bento place, but it seems like it has changed to Genroku-Do & Panzoh (Panzo). There are other bakeries nearby, so there is quite a bit of competition. They offer a time service discount of 100 yen off all items. Most of the bread items are priced between 200-300 yen, so the discount rate is around 30-40% off, which is quite a good deal. I bought curry from Amaladeli, so I also purchased two cheese buns and a lemon pie to go with it. - Setouchi Lemon Pie: Moist Danish pastry with lemon jam and custard cream. - Baked Cheese Bun: I thought it would be more of a savory item, but it turned out to be more like a dessert with a sugary crust on the bottom edge. - Chewy Cheese Potato Bun: Didn't really taste much like potato, but considering the discounted price, it was decent. Next time, I might try their side dishes. Thank you for the meal.

This is a bakery on the 2nd floor of Tokyo Solamachi. Most of the store is dedicated to selling bread, and it operates under the name "Pan Kura." They sell a popular item called "Okaki and Cream-filled Anpan" with the Eiroku-do sign. The store has moved within the 2nd floor, but the phone number remains the same. The new location is at West Yard 4-17. The store has a wider selection of bread now. I bought some discounted items near their expiration date and tried them. The AOP Butter Croissant lacked the usual flakiness, probably due to age. The French Apple Pie was a safe choice, especially at half price. The plain Shokupan bread was a bit dry but tasted better when toasted with strawberry butter. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would like to try their full-priced items next time.

Anpan filled with fresh cream and matcha red bean paste for 200 yen. The bread dough is firm and inside there is a combination of fresh cream and matcha red bean paste. The matcha red bean paste is lightly sweetened. You can park in the facility's parking lot.

It's a shop on the 2nd floor of Tokyo Solamachi that I'm not sure what kind of store it is! They have bread and rice crackers, and the bread seems to be from Pan Kura in Edogawa Ward. I'm not sure what products are original to Motoedokudo-san. It seems like an antenna shop for some kind of group company, right? I originally came to buy bread, so I'll choose from this Pan Kura bread. They have croissants, but they only come in packs, not individually, which is disappointing. So, I randomly picked some and bought them to take home and taste. Now, the taste is as follows: - Apple Raisin Danish: A combination of apple comfort, raisins, and custard. Nothing particularly outstanding, just as I imagined. - Double Cheese France: I'm not sure what double cheese it is, but it's a classic combination. It looks like it would be delicious if heated in the oven. - Bacon Potato Roll: A roll with bacon and mashed potatoes. I always think this kind of bread should be eaten separately from the bread itself, and this time was no exception. - Bread Crust (4 slices): If you spend over 500 yen, you get a bag of 4 or 5 slices. It seems to be the end part of the bread. It's quite delicious when toasted, especially the browned parts. It's best with jam rather than butter. The toasted part is really delicious! The crispy crust and the browned parts have a great texture. It's best when toasted well, so it's suitable for cheese or pizza toast. The conclusion is that the free bread crust is the most delicious, so if you buy bread here, I recommend the bread crust.

Here in Solamachi, I came across this place while walking. The name "Banana Cream Bread" caught my eye and I couldn't help but stop. It seemed like a unique twist for a shop that used to sell Persimmon Seeds. As a banana lover, I had to buy it. The cream was a custard-like color. The scent was subtly banana. When I tried it, it tasted more like banana cream than actual banana. I would have been happier if it had a more realistic banana flavor, but it was pretty much as I expected.

On the 2nd floor of Soramachi, there is a senbei (rice cracker) shop in the souvenir street. I heard that the shop in Kitasenju Marui has reopened, so I was a little interested and went to see it. They had chocolate-coated senbei, and I bought a pack with three flavors: white, milk, and strawberry chocolate. The combination of the sweetness of the chocolate and the saltiness of the senbei was great. Personally, I liked the white chocolate the best.

The dough is fluffy and soft, the filling is not too sweet, and the fresh cream is very smooth and creamy, melting in your mouth. The flavored seeds are delicious, and the salted butter and black pepper flavors are rich and tasty. The price is reasonable, so it's recommended for gifts or treats.

I saw Panzoh from Hirai at Solamachi. Was it always this expensive? Maybe it's cheaper there because it's factory direct sales.
