麗香
I received a recommendation from an acquaintance who loves to eat out, and they told me about this place. It was perfect timing because I had plans to have a meal in Kagurazaka. So, I made a reservation right away, feeling like it was meant to be!
Location:
After getting off at Iidabashi Station, we walked along a bustling street and turned into a small alley. The alley where the restaurant is located had cobblestones, making it feel like we had wandered into some ancient city.
Atmosphere:
We took an elevator to the top floor and found a glittery interior reminiscent of the Bubble Era. The waitstaff also had a glamorous vibe, adding to the fancy atmosphere.
Taste:
I heard that their pizza was recommended, and indeed, the taste of the wheat flour used was excellent. Both the pizza and pasta had a distinct wheat flour flavor, which was delicious. The pasta in the course had shirasu (whitebait) on top, and it was perfectly seasoned. Every dish that came out was well-seasoned and tasty. The chocolate cake for dessert was rich and delightful. Everyone I was with also enjoyed the food and praised it.
Price:
The prices are on the higher side, with individual items costing around 2000 yen each. We opted for a course menu priced at around 5000 yen per person. There are additional charges as well, so the cost performance is reasonable considering the quality.
Overall Impression:
Although I was recommended this place by an acquaintance, I was surprised to see many negative reviews on Tabelog. However, based on my own experience, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great, so I would love to visit again when I can splurge. Some negative reviews mentioned criticism of the taste, but taste is subjective, and personally, I thought the seasoning and flavors were well-balanced. There were also complaints about the service, but I had a different experience. I made a sudden change to my reservation request (I'm sorry), but they accommodated it flexibly. The service was considerate, and they even helped me with my coat on the way out. This kind of service reminded me of the Bubble Era. I heard that the view from the terrace seats is lovely, so I would like to visit again in the future.
Personal Note:
Regarding the service, I generally don't have unpleasant experiences at any restaurant. When I went to a ramen shop recommended by a friend, the usually unfriendly Chinese owner greeted me with a big smile, surprising my friend. I usually receive good service everywhere, maybe because I'm an incredibly beautiful woman? ... Not likely! My father is usually smiling and friendly, and when we eat out, he often talks to the staff and praises them for good service or delicious food. As a result, the staff always remember him (laughs). If there is ever a terrible experience, I will definitely let them know, but generally, I always receive great service. I believe that when dining out, it's essential to show respect to the ingredients, the people who prepare the food, and those who serve it. Food is vital for our bodies, so I always try to show gratitude to everyone involved in the process.
