Tuna filleting show featuring a 67-kilogram tuna from Kagoshima Prefecture. The tuna was fat and round, so the expectation for good fatty flavor was high. During the filleting process, there was a rock-paper-scissors game to purchase limited parts, adding an entertaining element to the experience. I won the game and obtained vouchers for medium fatty tuna and tuna head. The prices were: 1 piece of lean meat for 1200 yen, medium fatty tuna for 1500 yen, fatty tuna for 1800 yen, medium fatty belly for 1500 yen, and tuna head for 1000 yen. The tuna head had a stronger fatty flavor than the fatty tuna, making it a bit overwhelming to eat on its own. The lean meat had a good texture that melted in the mouth and was very delicious.

Inagicho Nagano, a new Aeon Town, has opened in Nagano. Unlike the typical large and spacious Aeon facilities, this one has a compact feel with only one dining option. The first hour of parking is free, which is a nice bonus. I had some errands nearby and decided to stop by here for the first time. I ended up spending about 3,000 yen on vegetables and fresh produce, which I found to be a bit pricey. I used to know this place as "Daimaru Peacock," but it seems to have become part of the Aeon group at some point. I was able to earn Waon points during this visit, which was a pleasant surprise. I also discovered a familiar Top Valu Green Life From series product called "Pan de Mi," a bread made without margarine but with olive oil instead. It's a gentle bread with consideration for additives and ingredients. I toasted it and found it to have a nice aroma, crispy crust, and soft inside. It's not too sweet or salty, making it versatile for enjoying plain or with spreads. It's a thoughtful product, yet priced reasonably at 148 yen. If I were to buy bread at an Aeon market again, I would choose this one. For lunch that day, I opted for a convenient bento box from the Chinese deli section, getting the mixed fried rice and shrimp yakisoba. The fried rice had a mild and light flavor with egg, ground meat, corn, green onions, and kamaboko. The shrimp yakisoba was not greasy and complemented the meal well. Both dishes were satisfying in portion size and taste for their prices. Overall, it was a delicious meal.

In Inagi, there is a new commercial facility where you can find a Peacock store. I didn't know Peacock was part of the Aeon group. The parking is free for up to one hour even if you don't buy anything. It was around 7 pm on Saturday when I visited. In the deli section, there were many items with half-price stickers already. Maybe because of the impact of the coronavirus, there were not many customers. I also bought a Chinese-style bento box for around 200 yen with the discount. It's a great deal. The large-sized Negi-tama (leek and egg) for 100 yen was also a good deal. It was slightly burnt on the edges, but the aroma of the leeks was really nice and it paired well with the mildness of the egg. It was delicious.

Peacock Store☆Inagi Naganuma Branch. Deli bread... each 100 yen. This shop is located 300 meters from Inagi Naganuma Station. A new Aeon has opened here. Since I'm curious, I want to go in. It's not particularly cheap though >_< I'm a bit influenced by being used to Big. But within that, the deli bread is cheap so I'll try it. It's full of volume and the croquettes are good. The meat pie is also quite nice. If you choose carefully, it seems like you can enjoy it to some extent (laughs).

One day nearing the end of December 2019, I stopped by alone around noon. This Peacock store is located near JR Nanbu Line Inagi-Naganuma Station. It is located along the Kawasaki Kaido road that runs east-west through Inagi City, and it is about a 3-4 minute walk from the station. This store serves as the core of AEON TOWN Inagi-Naganuma, which opened on December 12, 2019. My purpose at that time was to buy side dishes to top our udon for lunch at home with my wife and middle school daughter. The side dishes and bento boxes are located at the back of the first floor, and although the variety is not very wide, they have a good selection. I bought three servings of "vegetable tempura" and returned home to top our udon as planned with my family of three. By the way, I, being ignorant, learned for the first time at this time that Peacock is part of the AEON Group. I could use my WAON card♪

The nearest station to Inagi-Naganuma Station on the JR Nanbu Line is the newly opened AEON Town along Kawasaki Highway. On the first floor of the complex is Daimaru Peacock. I thought it was an AEON store, but there is no sign of AEON at all. Perhaps AEON is the landlord and owner of the facility, renting out space to various tenants and earning rental income. The store space is two stories high (with a parking lot on the third floor maybe), with Daimaru Peacock on the first floor and an electronics store on the second floor. Next to the ground parking space, there are only a beef bowl restaurant and a gym. Hmm, this layout is disappointing. Why aren't they inside the facility? Why is the supermarket on the first floor Daimaru Peacock and not AEON? Personally, I think an AEON supermarket would be very welcome. I wandered around the store and looked at various items. Non-fried bento with black rice, banana pound cake, craft chu-hi, Ogasawara lemon. The non-fried bento with black rice costs 358 yen, which is slightly cheaper than the standard 398 yen bentos. However, the rice in this bento was dry and unappetizing. I also bought a ginger-flavored fried chicken bento, which was also unappetizing with dry rice and tough fried chicken. This is not good. If the bento and side dishes are not tasty, the supermarket is in trouble. The banana pound cake costs 100 yen and is baked in a convection oven using synthetic dough. It has small black specks, which are actually chopped chocolate chips. The artificial banana scent is noticeable, but it's unclear if there is actual banana puree in it. The cake was also dry and made my throat dry. In an era where any product can sell well if displayed, this supermarket may struggle to compete with other stores. A competing store is set to open in the same city (about 10 minutes by car from here) early next year. Unless this supermarket can attract customers with unique services or outshine others in terms of product variety or pricing, it may face closure in a few years. It's still new, so it may attract customers out of curiosity, but the real challenge lies ahead.

I made a huge Tekkamaki for Setsubun. It was really hard work. You know what was so hard? It was so tempting to eat it while taking this picture, but I finally managed to take the photo without eating it (lol). So, I quickly took this photo. Was Setsubun always like this? (lol) Oh well, let's dig in! (≧∇≦)

Omelette rice is delicious, isn't it? The "Omelette rice with runny egg" for 298 yen is the most orthodox among all the supermarket omelette rice I have tried. The rice has a perfect texture, not too hard or too soft, just right! The runny egg effect is also nice (lol). The sauce with ketchup and some kind of umami flavor is good. Even though the size is small, it is perfect for kids! It feels like omelette rice from a Western-style restaurant. It was really delicious! (≧∇≦) Great job!

On a certain weekday afternoon in July at X:XX, another weekday afternoon in September at X:XX, and the following October at X:XX, I stopped by alone. This Peacock Store is located near JR Nanbu Line's Inagi-Naganuma Station. It is located along the Kawasaki Kaido that runs east-west through Inagi City, and it is about a 3-4 minute walk from the station. It is the core store of AEON TOWN Inagi-Naganuma, which opened on December 12, 2019. On each of those days, my target was the sandwiches with a sticker that says "X% off at the register from the base price." As a commoner, I can't resist those kinds of deals. Finding one that is "30% off" makes me very happy. I bought them and had them for breakfast the next day each time. Although the expiration date is the same day as the manufacturing date, it's all part of the fun. I enjoyed the TOPVALU sandwiches from the private brand of the AEON Group at a great price and delicious taste.

I finally found Peacock's curry rice! The "beef curry" is only 399 yen, so cheap! But well, I couldn't find any ingredients in the curry, so I guess they must have melted in. The curry roux has a strong aroma with a lot of spices! This flavor is authentic and delicious♪ As time goes by, slowly... it's spicy! (laughs) The spiciness gradually increases, it's so spicy! And there's a mysterious spiciness that I want to taste. Maybe they numb it with spices? It has the real taste of curry. The spiciness level is above junior high school students! It was a more wonderful curry rice than I expected (^^) It was very delicious! Thank you♪

"Jukusei Sangen Pork Loin Tonkatsu Katsudon" for 498 yen excluding tax, is not a katsudon, but a "katsudon"! It's a deluxe stage dish with high expectations! However, this well-presented katsudon uses a clever technique of thinly slicing the tonkatsu to show the cut side, making it hard to gauge the volume of tonkatsu! There are many stickers on the container, making it difficult to see the contents, a sneaky tactic (laughs). The taste is a blend of "Katsuo-bushi from Yaizu" and "Umami of grilled flying fish broth", so I closed my eyes to savor the flavor. Hmm, it's delicious! This katsudon also only has half a tonkatsu, so where did the other half go?! (laughs) It was very delicious! (≧∇≦) Great job!
