Located at the west exit of Ikebukuro Station, if you walk straight down Nishi-Ichiban Street for about 7-8 minutes, you will find this restaurant on your right. First, try the stir-fried watercress. It is delicious with plenty of pine nuts-like ingredients mixed with the crunchy watercress, and the seasoning is superb. Next, try the Som Tam. I chose the version with crab fish sauce, which may have a strong taste that some may not like, but I personally loved it. And don't miss the crispy spring rolls, they are really tasty. They also offer Mekong whiskey from Thailand for soda mixers, which has a similar taste to gin and goes well with spicy Thai dishes. Lastly, the soft shell crab curry is a must-try with its perfect blend of sweetness, spiciness, and crab flavor. While there are many Thai restaurants in Tokyo, this one stands out as one of the best I have tried, even comparable to those in Thailand.

Kuittiaonamusenrekku 1,000 yen
Kuittiaonamusenrekku is a soup noodle dish. The soup is a light chicken-based flavor. It comes with coriander, bean sprouts, morning glory, garlic chips, and steamed chicken (cooked just right). The noodles are chewy thin rice noodles. The name "Senrekku" apparently comes from "Sen" (noodles) + "Rekku" (small), meaning thin noodles. You can enjoy it as it is, but in Thai style, it's common to customize the flavor with condiments. Fish sauce, vinegar, chili, and sugar are provided. This can result in a mix of flavors, and it's hard to know the right combination.

Pap Prik Lakao lunch set for 1,000 yen ❤️ This Thai restaurant is located in a back alley beyond the bustling area of Ikebukuro's west exit. The Pap Prik Lakao lunch consists of stir-fried pork and chili served on top of rice. The aroma is reminiscent of Southeast Asia and the taste is not too spicy. The sunny-side-up egg on top is not your ordinary egg, probably cooked in oil unique to the region, simple yet fragrant and flavorful. It's a unique dish that I really enjoyed.

Ikebukuro Station is a short walk away, but it's not a difficult distance. The restaurant has a quaint charm, but it's not very flashy. In the past, there were several foodies who considered Tom Yum Goong and Green Curry to be the best dishes at Thai restaurants in Tokyo. For dinner, you can enjoy either of these dishes with an additional stir-fry and Thai beer, or indulge in a special dessert (very sweet). In terms of beer, they also offer beers from Laos and Vietnam, not just Thailand. For lunch, there are various options for 1,000 yen. All are recommended. I personally recommend the spicy yakisoba with pho or the Tom Yum Goong flavored fried rice. It is still one of the top Thai restaurants in Tokyo if you prioritize taste.

I went to this small, slightly old-fashioned restaurant after seeing a review from a trusted reviewer. It's an 8-minute walk from Ikebukuro North Exit, a bit away from the bustling area. Be careful not to mistake it for one of the three Thai restaurants nearby. They have 20 lunch menu options, all for 1000 yen with soup, dessert, and a self-service drink bar included. The kitchen has two local staff members and the food is served quickly. It can get quite hot in the summer, but luckily there are fans at some tables. The green curry is generously filled with ingredients and a portion for two is more than enough. It's mildly spicy and I'll ask for it spicier next time. The only thing that would make it perfect is if the rice was Thai instead of Japanese. The generous portion for 1000 yen with free drinks is a miracle. This might be one of the few places in Tokyo where you can find delicious green curry, along with another restaurant recommended by a trusted reviewer. Thank you for the recommendation.

A Thai restaurant in Ikebukuro that has been selected for the Michelin Bib Gourmand. They offer lunch menus even on weekends. The restaurant is crowded on Saturday afternoons. I ordered Gaeng Ped (red curry) and Pad Prik Khing Moo (spicy stir-fried pork), each costing 1000 yen. The red curry is filled with ingredients like bamboo shoots and has a mild spiciness with a deep flavor, making it easy to eat and of high quality. The Pad Prik Khing Moo also has a mild spiciness with a delicious flavor of herbs and a hint of coconut. It comes with a side of Prick Nam Pla, vegetable soup, and tapioca dessert. Drinks are served by pouring from a bottle. It's a shame that the rice, which is Japanese rice, is not very tasty, cooked to a mediocre level. It would be nice if they offered jasmine rice as an option. Perhaps they use Japanese rice to cater to Japanese customers, but personally, I found it disappointing.

Met with former colleagues at a restaurant for a summer get-together. We toasted with minced chicken herb salad and soft-shell crab curry stir-fry. The minced chicken had a slow-building spiciness that was perfect as a snack. The crab curry stir-fry had a delicious umami flavor that combined perfectly with the spices, prompting us to repeatedly say "it's really delicious." We ended the meal with a warm pudding, feeling completely satisfied. Located in a cozy alley not far from Ikebukuro Station, it felt like a taste of Thailand.

Located about a 10-minute walk from Ikebukuro West Exit, this popular Thai restaurant is quite crowded at 18:00, making it difficult to get a table without a reservation. The dishes are overall spicy and close to the authentic taste of Thailand (likely because the chef is Thai). The Pad Thai is recommended. The Green Curry is quite spicy.

I visited a popular Thai restaurant in Ikebukuro after about a year. Today, I had Tom Kha Gai (a soup made with chicken cooked in coconut milk with spices and a touch of sourness), fried rice, and spring rolls. It was delicious. Next time, I'll try Pad Thai.

Larb Muu ¥1000
Authentic larb with lots of lime and cilantro! Sour, spicy, and delicious! Oh, this is really spicy. haha It makes you want to eat more rice! The menu says "larb (chicken or pork)" but they didn't ask which one I wanted, so I had to chase after them and tell them I wanted pork! I wonder what they would have brought if I hadn't said anything? First, a sesame dressing salad comes, then a light and gentle soup with sweet corn-filled tapioca. Drinks are self-service with a variety of large bottles available, which is nice. I really like self-service. Night menu is also available upon request. Despite being busy, there was a couple who wanted to order the eye-catching night menu (a Tom Yum Kung in an intense-shaped pot) and were initially refused. But when they looked disappointed, the Thai mother said, "I'll order it for you! It's okay! It will take some time!" What a kind person! Lunch is available until 5 pm. All items are ¥1000, with a wide variety of menu options. It's so much fun! Definitely worth a revisit!

I searched for a restaurant on Tabelog before watching a movie at Cinema Rosa. There were four tables outside the restaurant, and some Asian people were hanging around there, so I thought it might be crowded inside. I asked someone who seemed to be the owner, and they said, "We have a reservation at 7 PM, but until then is fine." All the customers were women. I ordered the crab spring rolls for 1500 yen and the char siu rice for 1000 yen. The crab spring rolls came out hot. The crab flavor wasn't very strong, but it was decent. The char siu rice came with a small dish of what looked like spicy condiments, but it wasn't actually very spicy. The char siu had a plum sauce, giving it a kind of Japanese flavor. It seems like they offer free drinks during lunchtime and have reasonable prices. I'm thinking of going back for lunch next time.

Ikebukuro is known for having many great Thai restaurants, and this place is no exception. I visited for an early lunch on Saturday and was impressed by the variety of lunch sets available for just 1000 yen each. They offer a selection of noodles, fried rice dishes, and stir-fried dishes, along with salad, soup, and a simple drink bar. I was craving stir-fried food, so I ordered the spicy stir-fried chicken and rice dish called "Pappe Rak Kao." The flavors were amazing, with the perfect balance of spiciness and fresh herbs like basil and lemongrass. Even though they serve Japanese rice instead of jasmine rice, it surprisingly complemented the dish well. I couldn't get enough of it and will definitely be back to try their Tom Yum fried rice next time!

Ikebukuro's Prick ✨ for lunch had green curry! All-you-can-drink salad and drink, with soup and dessert for 1000 yen (゚∀゚) The curry had plenty of ingredients and was very flavorful. When it comes to green curry, you have to have thinly sliced bamboo shoots, right♬ Ikebukuro is truly a fierce battleground for Thai cuisine (๑>◡<๑)
Everyone knows the prick. Talking with work colleagues about their last supper, unable to decide on just one menu choice - listing various candidates and passionately discussing how to choose. He is a strong person who has traveled to Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Thailand over 50 times each for work. He knows the depth of Thai cuisine that surpasses even Chinese cuisine, and the top choice for the last supper is Poo Phong Curry. The conversation shifts from soft-shell to beloved crab, leading to endless discussions about food. There is no choice but to go. Can't decide between Prick or Khunya, but sticking with the reliable Prick. It's a bit sad not being able to try various dishes alone, but it's okay for today. Having a Singha beer while waiting. By the way, I prefer just crab over a mix of shrimp and seafood. The crunchy texture, umami, and creamy eggs of the crab. Garlic, chili, celery, herbs... I have no intention of rushing, but the deliciousness makes me eat faster. The overlapping ingredients chase me with an exquisite balance of flavors! Ah, it goes so well with rice. They offered to wrap up the leftovers if there were too many, but there was no need to worry. Finished it all. So happy. Thank you for the meal. Note! A coworker pointed out that Poo is a crab with a hard shell, while soft-shell is Poo Nim! Okay!

This is a popular Thai restaurant located a short walk from Ikebukuro North Exit. They also serve beers from Thailand and Vietnam. If you're unsure what to order, the owner will kindly give you recommendations. I ordered pork fried rice, stir-fried water spinach, and minced pork stir-fry, and left feeling satisfied. The dishes were full of vegetables and healthy. I asked for the spiciness to be toned down a bit, but the flavors were still excellent. If you find the fried rice not spicy enough, you can adjust the seasoning with the condiments provided.

A Thai restaurant located about a 7-8 minute walk from Ikebukuro Station North Exit. It's situated behind another Thai restaurant called "Pirabukau". During lunchtime, you can choose from 20 different menu items. I always have a hard time deciding what to order. On this day, I had Pad Prig Khing (stir-fried meat and chili served over rice). It's a dish where vegetables and minced meat are stir-fried with chili and served over rice. Dishes where the main dish is served over rice are common in Southern cuisine, and it's really good. The spiciness of the chili is balanced out by the sweetness and umami flavors, making the rice and noodles very appetizing. The light soup helps to soothe your mouth after the spiciness. The name of the restaurant, "Prik", means chili, and the sharp spiciness is perfect for eating in hot weather. I've only tried 6 out of the 20 menu items, but they are all delicious. I want to try all 20 items. I also want to try the "Stir-fried Soft Shell Crab" listed on the menu at the table next time I visit.

Around 11:30, I had lunch at this place. I ordered the Paprik Laksa (1,000 yen). They have tables for 2 people and 4 people, and the place is not too big. For drinks, they have self-service water, bottled coffee, oolong tea, and also warm coffee. The Paprik Laksa had chunks of meat and mushrooms (maybe mushrooms?). The fried egg on top was runny and creamy. The oil that came with it was tangy and spicy, making it delicious when poured over. The salad had a sesame dressing, refreshing. The soup had daikon, Chinese cabbage, and coriander maybe. It was light and refreshing, reminiscent of a coriander hot pot. For dessert, there was tapioca with yellow bits floating in it, which turned out to be corn. It was delicious. I was satisfied with the just right portion and tasty flavors. It got a bit spicy when I poured too much oil, but I couldn't help myself. I would like to try other items on the menu next time I visit.

I pride myself on having tried a fair amount of ethnic food, but "Prik" and Shin-Okubo Bantam stand out as top choices. This time, I opted for rice flour noodles for lunch instead of curry, as my stomach wasn't fully recovered. The atmosphere was filled with people who seemed well-versed in ethnic cuisine. As always, I helped myself to the free drinks at the counter. The salad with sesame dressing was a simple but appreciated addition. The noodles arrived quickly, with a choice of chicken or pork mince - I went with pork. The soup, made with what seemed like a chicken base, was gentle on the stomach and full of flavor. The generous portion of komatsuna added a nutritional balance. Adding chili, fish sauce, or chili vinegar from the condiments on the table gave the soup a delicious kick. The rice flour noodles were a hit, slippery and easy to eat, perfect for when your appetite is low. I regret not getting a full portion. Overall, a reliable and delicious choice at a reasonable price. In these times of high costs, the fact that it's still around 1000 yen is a blessing. Whether you're looking for adventure or stability, this place is a winner. Thank you for the meal.
