"Soba Restaurant Hosokawa, Oshiage (Tokyo) - Katsudon set for 1000 yen is delicious! The thin soba noodles have a good texture and are tasty. The thick katsudon is also delicious. Located at 1-9-5 Yokokawa, Sumida-ku. Open from 11:30-14:00 and 17:30-23:00, closed on Sundays. #OshiageKatsudon #Katsudon #OshiageSoba #Soba"

I felt like eating soba and a rice bowl, so I visited this shop for the first time. There were various lunch set menus, and I was torn, but I trusted my pre-visit feeling of wanting a katsudon set and ordered that. Both the soba and the rice bowl were very delicious, and I would like to come back to try different menu items. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this lovely restaurant for lunch on a regular day. Today, I ordered the egg rice bowl set, which came with soba noodles for 900 yen - what a great deal! First of all, I was surprised by the size of the bowl, and then by the generous amount of ingredients in the egg rice bowl. The broth was strong in soy sauce flavor, with bamboo shoots, shiitake mushrooms, and fish cake scattered throughout. There was even a sheet of seasoned seaweed on top. The soba noodles were thin but had a good chewy texture. I was very satisfied with the meal. When I asked the lovely mama at the restaurant what the "Kaika Don" was, she explained that it's a dish with pork instead of chicken. It's a fun name for a dish! They also have seasonal menus that I would love to try. I will definitely visit again.

This shop located on Kasuga Street, closer to Oshiage Station than Kinshicho Station North Exit, caught my attention with its traditional appearance and a "PayPay accepted" sticker. I arrived after 7 pm and was told that last order is at 8:30 pm. Intrigued by the items displayed on the counter, I decided to change my plans and have a drink. I ordered a highball, cold tofu, stir-fried shishito peppers, and "soba shop" yakitori. The cold tofu was ordinary, but the addition of myoga made it interesting. The shishito peppers were initially very spicy, but turned out to be just right. The yakitori was not on skewers as expected, but large pieces of juicy, well-seasoned meat. Squeezing lemon over it enhanced the flavor. The mori soba at the end was thin and white, with a rich Edo-style dipping sauce that had a strong aroma of fish flakes. Despite the old-fashioned interior, the food was delicious and deserving of more recognition. The alcohol snacks are only available at night, but I recommend trying other dishes from the "soba shop" series like the fried chicken.

- Curry Rice Set: 850 yen
- Extra Rice: 100 yen
I visited "Soba Restaurant Hosokawa" located near Oshiage Station on the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line, Toei Asakusa Line, and Keisei Oshiage Line, or a 10-minute walk from Tobu Skytree Line Tokyo Skytree Station. The restaurant is situated at the intersection of Yokogawa 1-chome and Kasuga streets, right across from the JT building and factory. Although access to this area is challenging, it is a valuable dining option for the locals.
The interior of the restaurant consists of table seating with a TV playing in the background. I ordered the "Curry Rice Set" with an extra serving of rice. The set also came with a side of "Mini Soba" and "Pickles." The curry rice had a homemade touch with a noticeable chunky potato texture in the curry. The cold "Mini Soba" was directly poured over, which I felt would have been better served separately.

This is a soba restaurant located near Oshiage station, about a 10-minute walk away. I was intrigued by the mushroom fair sign outside and decided to give it a try. When I arrived, the restaurant had just opened and was empty, but it quickly filled up with customers. I ordered the mushroom tempura rice bowl and warm soba. The tempura sauce was delicious and the soba was tasty as well. I think this is a wonderful restaurant that makes me want to try different types of soba depending on the season.

(First review) 07/20/2019 First visit. After going to "Kitchen Nakamura," I came here. Here is what I ordered: [Food] ・Katsudon set (I think it was 950 yen. I was torn between the Skytree set and this one, but I chose this one. I chose cold soba over hot soba. The small cold tofu in the top right of the photo. The soba was similar in thickness to somen noodles. The nostalgic feeling of the katsu don's soaked coating was nice. The miso soup was also good.) Thank you for the meal.

Visited this restaurant with my family while cycling. The interior has a traditional atmosphere that is calming. Ordered a set of tempura rice bowl and soba noodles with a bottle of beer. The soba noodles seemed to be homemade. The food arrived promptly. The soba noodles were slightly soft and the broth was well-seasoned. It had a nostalgic taste. The tempura rice bowl had crispy ingredients with a rich sauce. It was delicious. Somehow ended up at this place during our cycling trip. It had a nostalgic feel that you might find in the countryside. Overall, it was a great restaurant.

Katsudon set / ¥950 - The soba noodles are too thin, so the cold version might be better. Also, the portion size is a bit small. It's a shame. The katsudon itself is delicious. The broth is rich, so you can really taste the egg. It's best to visit when you have plenty of time.

Spicy Nira Udon / ¥680 - Soft and flat handmade udon noodles. The spicy broth is filled with plenty of garlic chives and sakura shrimp. This might go well with rice. The regular portion size is a bit small, so you might need some additional side dishes.

From Kinshicho Station, walking towards the Skytree on Skytree View Street, you will find a Lawson on your right and a soba restaurant on your left. I took my parents to the Skytree and we stopped by this restaurant on our way back. We casually went in, but after eating, my parents said, "This is the best soba we've ever had, with the most amazing aroma." My dad had something called the Skytree Juu (I don't remember the exact name on the menu), which was served in a red bowl stacked like a five-story pagoda, resembling the Skytree. I had the Stamina Set, and my mother ordered a simple soba set. Although the portions weren't large, my dad really enjoyed the soba and said it was incredibly delicious. I, on the other hand, was eating without paying much attention (laughs). When we got home, we talked about how delicious the soba was, and I realized that I should go back and try it again to see if it really is considered delicious by others. By the way, the pork bowl in the Stamina Set that I had was also delicious. Maybe the strong flavor of the pork bowl overshadowed the soba's taste. I should have tried the soba first (laughs).

I went to try the "Squid Ramen" that I had been curious about, but the owner had a sign saying "Closed today due to a medical appointment." Disappointed, I went to "Hosokawa" next door instead. With the year coming to an end, I decided to have New Year's Eve soba. There were two other customers, probably office workers from the neighborhood. The tempura was quite luxurious with two large shrimp tempura and vegetable tempura. The soba was smooth and easy to eat. I ordered the most popular Cheese Cutlet Don, but found it too salty for my taste. I would consider going back for the soba, though.

I visited a soba restaurant near my house and it had a traditional old-town atmosphere. It seemed like a husband and wife run the place. I ordered the popular katsudon set meal, which arrived fairly quickly. Both the katsudon and soba had a rich flavor, giving a taste of Tokyo-style broth. The customers seemed to be regulars, adding to the nostalgic atmosphere. The portions were generous and the soba was homemade. I noticed that even the udon was homemade, so I'll have to try that next time. Thank you for the meal.

Located at the intersection between Kasuga Street and Tower View Street, in the middle of Kinshicho and Oshiage, this soba restaurant offers a breathtaking view of the Skytree right in front. The interior has two tables for 8 people and two tables for 4 people, and it gets crowded with salarymen using it as an izakaya at night. The restaurant is run by the husband, wife, and their young son who plays in the kitchen. I decided to order the "Skytree Set Meal" (1,600 yen) that was displayed outside. It came in a 5-tiered bowl set, which was a local specialty. The set included eel kabayaki, tempura, zaru soba, salad, and rice. When all the bowls were arranged on the table, it looked like a slightly luxurious set meal. The eel kabayaki didn't have a grilled taste, maybe it was microwaved. The tempura consisted of various vegetables like carrots, shishito peppers, green onions, and eggplant. The salad had smoked cheese which added a nice flavor. The zaru soba had a slightly chewy texture. Lastly, I enjoyed the eel over rice to make an eel bowl. The Skytree Set Meal felt like a typical meal option you would find in a tourist area.
