I ordered vegetable soup curry with a spice level of 3 and topped it with two pieces of zangi for a luxurious touch. Personally, I think the best thing about soup curry is being able to eat lots of vegetables. It was delicious, not spicy at all. Maybe I should have gone for a spicier option. There were descriptions of the health benefits of vegetables written on the walls, which made me even more eager to eat them. I went on a Sunday at 12:30 and there was a line outside the first-floor store, but I think I was able to get in within about 10 minutes. I wonder if they have good turnover.

I arrived at the restaurant at 12:30 on a weekday and had to wait for 2 people ahead of me. After about 5 minutes, I was able to get a seat. I ordered bone-in chicken with red soup (tomato-based) at level 7 spiciness for 1590 yen. The soup had a noticeable tanginess from the tomatoes. Even though it was advertised as garlic-flavored, the taste was quite mild. The chicken leg was not fried. There was a small amount of vegetables, but the soup portion was sufficient. The spiciness level ranges from 1 to 10, with levels 6 and above incurring an extra charge. Level 7 was spicy, but not overwhelmingly so (similar to slightly spicier than Jawa curry). This soup curry falls into the traditional category. I would have preferred a bit more volume of vegetables, like more potatoes, carrots, and eggplant, maybe half portions of each.

I had some business at Isetan Shinjuku and it was close to lunchtime, so I decided to go to a curry restaurant that I had been wanting to try. Since it was still before noon, I was able to be seated without any wait. It was my first time visiting, so I chose a lunch set which included soup with a choice of spiciness level from 1 to 5, and I added fried onions on top. The food was served in less than 10 minutes even though there were about 5 other customers. The soup was indeed spicy, similar to a spicy homemade curry, and the vegetables were all sweet and delicious. The rice was topped with onions, which was a good choice as it added a sweet flavor. I ordered an apple lassi as a drink, with less sweetness, which was perfect for after the meal. The restaurant is a bit hidden in an alley, but it's recommended to go around Isetan or Piccadilly to find it. Next time, I will try the pork bone soup.

I visited for lunch. As soon as they opened at 11:30, the place quickly filled up with customers. I had the vegetable curry, and the vegetables were incredibly delicious. They offer a variety of soup options for their soup curry, so I look forward to coming back again. I will definitely visit again.

A Sapporo soup curry specialty store located in Shinjuku Sanchome. Established in 2011. This shop is a branch of "Sapporo Dominica" and has no connection to the "Sapporo Dominica Ginza Store" in Ginza. The shop is also affiliated with "Tokyo Dominica," which has a branch called "Yellow Spice" in Ginza and Kameido. The soup options are the original yellow, red, and black. The shop served as a model for the manga "Nami yo Kiite Kure." Location: 1 minute walk from Shinjuku Sanchome Station Business Hours: [Weekdays] Lunch: 11:30 - 15:00 (Last Order) Dinner: 17:30 - 22:00 (Last Order) [Sat, Sun, Holidays] 11:30 - 21:00 (Last Order) Closed irregularly Visited on a weekday night and was able to get in right away. Ordered the Braised Pork Soup Curry (¥1455) with Shrimp Soup (¥220). It's rare to find a delicious place open after 9 pm on weekdays, making it a convenient spot to visit after 8 pm. The entrance is easy to find, and you descend a staircase to the cozy underground atmosphere. Choose your soup, spice level, and toppings in order. The female staff's slightly rushed service was a bit disappointing, but I ordered the yellow soup with shrimp, spice level 2, and no toppings. The soup curry arrived in about 5 minutes. The broth was light and flavorful, starting with a dashi-like flavor from the shrimp, followed by a gradual heat. The broth's liquid consistency paired well with the turmeric rice. The braised pork was tender with a meltingly rich fat content that was delightful. The large vegetables typical of Sapporo soup curry were impressive, with the burdock standing out for its natural sweetness. The eggplant had a crispy texture reminiscent of tempura, while the carrots and pumpkin had a subtle sweetness. Unique vegetables like baby corn and snow peas added to the originality of the dish.

I visited around 1:00 p.m. on Sunday and waited in line for about 10 minutes before entering. The menu selection process consists of 4 steps: 1) choose the type of curry, 2) choose the color of the soup, 3) choose the spiciness level, and 4) choose the toppings. I ordered the Hamburg Soup Curry for 1450 yen, with white soup (which is said to be milder in spiciness), -1 spiciness level, and added Zangi as a topping. The soup curry was full of ingredients and incredibly delicious. I particularly liked the pumpkin, burdock, and potatoes. The hamburger was also firm and tasty. Even though I chose -1 spiciness level, it was still a bit spicy for me and I couldn't stop sweating, but eating while sweating was also enjoyable. I will definitely go back again!!

Visited around 1 pm on a Sunday. Descended into the dimly lit basement of a soup curry restaurant called "Dominica" near Shinjuku Sanchome. There was a short wait outside, but we were seated in about 5 minutes. The interior was dimly lit and small. After some deliberation, I ordered the braised pork belly soup curry with the standard "yellow" soup base and added zangi (fried chicken) as a topping. I chose a medium level of spiciness as I wasn't sure how spicy it would be. The braised pork belly was a highlight, but the simmered daikon radish also caught my attention. The menu offered a variety of combinations of curry, soup, and toppings, making it enjoyable just to browse through. The taste was delicious. The zangi was a bit tough and strongly flavored, so it could have been omitted. The soup was mildly spicy and thin but very flavorful. The sweetness of the potatoes, pumpkin, and carrots in the curry complemented each other well. Personally, I loved the burdock. The braised pork belly and simmered daikon radish were exceptionally tasty. The temperature in the restaurant was comfortable when we arrived, but as we ate the curry, I started sweating profusely. The default amount of rice was satisfying, but due to the generous amount of soup in the curry, it felt a bit lacking proportionally. I recommend getting extra rice or a refill if you have room in your stomach. The curry was so delicious that I would love to try other items on the menu next time. Thank you for the meal.

Vegetable curry is full of vegetables, highlighting the goodness of the vegetable ingredients while also having a fantastic match with soup curry. I always add bone-in chicken topping to my vegetable curry. However, the hamburger curry my friend was eating also looks delicious... I usually set the spiciness level at 6-7. A spicy curry that opens up your pores in the summer heat. And the fact that you can enjoy this soup curry in Shinjuku, Tokyo, is the best!

I have never tried soup curry in Hokkaido, but I have visited a few places in Tokyo that piqued my interest. This time, I searched for "Shinjuku Sanchome lunch" and found a place near Isetan on the map. I saw a sign a little off Meiji Street and went downstairs. There was a sign on the wall above ground that said it was a location from the anime "Nami yo Kiitekure." I've watched the drama, and I was surprised by the main actress, Karata Erika, who always has a different appearance and way of speaking. She speaks quickly and fluently, and I was amazed by her versatility as an actress. The compact restaurant has 4-5 counter seats and 7-8 tables for 2 people. I tried the following dish: - Oyster Soup Curry 1800 yen. It's a limited-time menu even though it's midsummer. I chose a level 4 spiciness from 5 types of soup. The soup contained 4 oysters, a boiled egg, deep-fried vegetables (potatoes, carrots, eggplants, burdock roots, pumpkins), shimeji mushrooms, baby corn, and watercress in a thin soup. The soup had a unique aroma, slightly spicy, and delicious. However, I felt that it didn't go well with the oysters, which was disappointing. The plump, large oysters had a good texture. The vegetables were not as large or voluminous as at other restaurants. The turmeric rice seemed to have a mix of long grain and japonica rice, cooked firmly and perfect for dipping in the soup. The staff were all friendly and attentive, which was nice. The location is convenient, and I would like to visit again to try other colored soups.

The soup was very thin, as expected. I chose bone-in chicken curry with cheese and fried onion toppings (which I regretted later). The chicken was tender and the dish was loaded with vegetables (burdock, baby corn, carrot, snow peas, pumpkin, leafy greens, etc.). It's a paradise for vegetable lovers. Maybe because it was a hot summer day, or the air conditioning wasn't strong enough, or the spiciness of the curry, I ended up sweating healthily. You can choose the level of spiciness and the type of soup, making it a fun place to eat. The curry had more of a Japanese influence than I had anticipated.

I arrived at the restaurant on a weekday in August around 11:30 am, and there was no wait. The place was almost full. It was quite hot inside, maybe because it's located underground? The air conditioning seemed weak. You can choose the level of spiciness, but with this heat, I was worried that if I chose a spicy option, I would end up sweating a lot. I ordered the Braised Pork Curry for 1600 yen (basic yellow soup, level 3 spiciness), and a Salad and Mini Drink set for 400 yen. I chose the plain lassi for my drink. The salad had a tangy and sweet white dressing with what seemed like baby leaf lettuce. The plain lassi had a hint of lemon and was not too sweet. The curry was loaded with vegetables like big chunks of pumpkin, eggplant, and carrots. There were also two and a half large pieces of braised pork. The standout for me was the daikon radish, which had soaked up a slightly sweet broth, reminiscent of spicy oden. I could have eaten five more pieces of that daikon. The saffron rice had a strong buttery aroma and was delicious. Although it was labeled as level 3 spiciness, it had a strong broth flavor, so the spiciness wasn't very prominent. Personally, I felt like a level 5 spiciness would have been better. They also offer a lunch plate set, but the portion of soup curry is slightly smaller. For those with a big appetite (like me), I recommend getting the soup curry with the salad and mini drink set.

I usually don't choose soup curry when eating curry, but today I decided to challenge it. As expected, it was delicious and the portion size was sufficient. The only slight downside was that the amount of rice was a bit small and the price was on the higher side, but overall it was good.

I felt like eating vegetables, so I visited for the first time. Today's order: Vegetable soup curry (soup: yellow, spiciness: level 5) and natto (topping). The menu mainly consists of meat and vegetables, with no seafood options. Today, I chose vegetables with natto topping. There are 5 types of soup available, but I went with the popular yellow one. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The soup had a gentle Japanese-style broth with just the right amount of spices, making it delicious. For those who like spicy food, it may not be spicy enough, so you can ask for a higher level of spiciness. The restaurant is air-conditioned, but being located on the basement floor, there seems to be no escape for the air, making it hot inside. Be careful during the summer months. Thank you for the meal.

I searched for a place where I could eat soup curry in Shinjuku and found this restaurant. The soup was a thin type with a variety of flavors and tasted great. It was a soup curry that even DoCoMo would approve of. Because it's a thin type, you can eat it even in the hot summer, and it's full of spices that boost your metabolism. It was crowded, so it might be best to go after the peak lunch hour.

I tried the limited-time oyster soup curry. It's a unique shop where you can choose the broth and spiciness level. The interior has counter and table seating for about 12 groups maximum. They offer various toppings like braised pork, vegetables, and hamburgers. This time, I tried the oyster curry due to its limited availability. Personally, I felt like I wanted more of the oyster flavor. I think other toppings might taste better, so first-timers should go for something more traditional! Visited the popular soup curry restaurant "Tokyo Dominica" just a 1-minute walk from Shinjuku Sanchome Station. Arrived right after opening on a Sunday and no wait. Easily got a table as the restaurant was almost full. Ordered the classic Chicken Soup Curry for 1,480 yen with 5x spiciness. Asked for bone-in chicken leg and the original soup. It was served in about 10 minutes. The ingredients included eggplant, potatoes, carrots, burdock, onions, green beans, pumpkin, baby corn, shishito peppers, and watercress. The soup is a blend of kombu and seafood with the umami of chicken and pork, which was delicious. It had a bit of thickness, which paired well with the saffron rice. The leg chicken was tender and flavorful soaked in curry. Enjoyed it until the last bite.

I visited for lunch on a regular day. I arrived around 12 o'clock and was able to sit down without waiting in line. They had lunch sets, but I decided to start with ordering a single item. I ordered boneless chicken curry with a spice level of 5. The boneless chicken was tender and the curry had a lot of vegetables like baby corn, burdock, and watercress. The soup was quite flavorful with a strong kick of spices. It was a stimulating soup curry that seemed addictive. I also ordered a plain Tokyo Dominica Lassi as an addition, which had a rich yogurt flavor with just the right amount of sweetness, complementing the punchy soup curry perfectly. It was so thick that it was a bit difficult to drink with a straw. This curry made me want to try various types of soup curry, showing a depth that makes you want to explore more.

After work, I went to Soup Curry Minica for the first time in a while. I really like their soup curry and often visit this place. Their specialty is a spicy soup curry with a lot of broth, popular among both female and male customers, as well as solo diners. This time, I ordered two dishes: Hamburg Soup Curry and Pork Belly Soup Curry. While chicken soup curry is the classic choice, I personally love the pork soup curry here. The pork is cooked until it falls apart easily with chopsticks, mixed with the spicy soup curry, creating a delicious combination. I also enjoy the Hamburg Soup Curry, as it's not commonly found elsewhere. When I come here, I often order it. #ShinjukuGourmet #ShinjukuLunch #ShinjukuDinner #ShinjukuCurry #ShinjukuSoupCurry #SoupCurry #SoupCurryMinica #ShinjukuSoupCurryMinica #PorkBellySoupCurry #HamburgSoupCurry #Repeat
