We found a Jiro-style ramen place in an unexpected location! Even though we weren't very hungry, we asked if we could share a bowl and they kindly agreed. We visited around 9 pm, and ordered the regular size of Takujirou ramen with extra vegetables, garlic, and fat. When the bowl arrived, we were surprised by the generous amount of vegetables. The fat was a bit on the lighter side, so we recommend getting it "extra fat." The flavor was gentle for a Jiro-style ramen, but still had a strong taste of garlic, oil, and pork bone broth. It was a refreshing change for me, who had been eating Jiro-style ramen in Osaka. The soup had a good amount of garlic and was delicious! We also ordered a draft beer, which was perfectly foamy and satisfying.

I came to the "Sakechi Nikurin"! The name is amazing, haha. I ordered the popular No. 2 seafood tonkotsu ramen and half fried rice. The soup is rich but also has a seafood flavor, which I like. The noodles were only available in thin or extra thin due to the typhoon, so I chose thin noodles. It was convenient for me as I like thin noodles (I forgot to take a picture of the ramen and ate some already). The fried rice was also very delicious! I might have been able to finish a whole portion by myself, haha. Thanks to the typhoon, it was not crowded and I could relax.

During my 1-week trip to Hachijojima, I wanted to eat as much local food as possible. On the second day, I recovered from a bad cold and went out for lunch. There were a few ramen shops, but some were closed. I found a shop with cars parked in the parking lot, so I felt safe going in. There were already 3 groups of customers inside, so it seemed popular for the island. I ordered the Ashitaba seafood pork bone ramen for 1180 yen. The soup was thick and rich, surprisingly sweet and heavy. The toppings included plenty of seaweed, egg, bamboo shoots, spinach, green onions, and small slices of chashu. The noodles were a beautiful green color, made from ashitaba, with a chewy texture. I was hoping for more local flavor in the soup, but it was mainly fish and pork bone. The price was a bit high compared to Tokyo, but I guess locals don't eat here often. The price for the Ashitaba ramen was even higher. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant during my trip from Tokyo (Haneda) to Hachijojima! When I saw the name "Sakechi Nikurin," I thought to myself, "This could be either a big hit or a big miss (lol)." And the result was a big hit!!! The super rich soup, similar to Tenkaippin, was delicious as it coated the noodles! My friend who came with me also said, "I would definitely come back if this was in my local area." The light and refreshing Asatsuyu Ramen, made with Hachijojima's specialty Asatsuyu leaves, was also delicious. The staff's customer service was very friendly and I had a really good impression. By the way, when I asked about the origin of the name, I was told, "It seems like it was named by the owner before the previous owner," so the origin remains a mystery (lol).

I had a sudden craving for ramen and revisited Sakamachi Nikurin! This is my second time here! This time, I had the seafood pork bone ramen! The rich pork bone broth with seafood flavor, perfectly cooked half-boiled egg, and tasty seasoned chashu. I really like this kind of ramen. The gyoza was also delicious! I'm grateful that they are open until late at night for when I crave ramen. I hope this place never closes down!

I went for lunch. I ordered the Ashitaba seafood and pork bone tsukemen (1230 yen) and gyoza. Personally, I think it's the most delicious ramen shop in Hachijo Island. I want to go again.

A bowl of ramen that combines fish and pork bone broth with noodles made from Asatsuyu, a vegetable unique to Hachijo Island. It is rich yet easy to eat, and you will finish it quickly because it is so delicious. The dumplings with wings are also delicious, so I recommend them!

I had the Spicy Seafood Pork Bone Ramen. The soup was spicy and rich in flavor, very satisfying. The noodles had a nice chewiness and paired well with the soup. The toppings were plentiful and I was very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I never thought I could eat such delicious ramen on this island country. It's a taste that can definitely compete in Tokyo! Even though Hachijojima is part of Tokyo, haha. If you come to Hachijojima, be sure to stop by and try it out!
