I visited around 1 pm on a weekday. I went to try the limited-time chestnut pie. The store was quite busy with customers, as there is also an eat-in area. There were many new products for this month on display. You can also order drinks, so it's convenient for a quick snack at the station. However, it's a bit noisy due to the station's location, so it may not be ideal for a leisurely stay. I didn't eat it right away, so I froze it and reheated it later. The large chestnuts were sweet, and the pie was crispy and delicious! Although it was small, it was quite satisfying to eat. It seemed more like a pastry shop treat than bread. The surrounding cafes were crowded, so I opted for this hidden gem that is relatively quiet. I had a cream bun and iced coffee, a familiar taste I have enjoyed since childhood. The atmosphere at VIE DE FRANCE is calming. The cream in the cream bun is not too rich, just right.

When I got off the Fukutoshin Line and was walking in a tired state, I saw some delicious looking bread and couldn't resist going in. I chose the sweet potato bread at the front, which was labeled as "freshly baked", being a sweet potato lover. There was a line but there were plenty of cash registers, so the checkout was quick and easy. It was great that they accepted various electronic payments. It was a Sunday evening, but the store was spacious with some empty seats here and there. I had given up on cafes in Shinjuku being full, so I was feeling like Ikebukuro was the best!! The sweet potato bread was very fluffy with plenty of sweet potato paste inside, which was just to my liking. The coffee was also easy to drink and paired well with the bread! And it was only 300 yen, which made me worry if they were making a profit at a station shop like this. Anyway, it really hit the spot for my tired body and soul, so I gave it a very sweet review. I would love to use it again for a quick bite.

"Honey Butter Bread" (^o^) I really ended up only getting this. I like the sweetness of the honey saying "How's that!" and the moistness of the margarine inside. Next to Tobu Department Store in Ikebukuro, there is V de France. I went shopping at Tobu Department Store in Ikebukuro, had lunch, and then bought bread at Juicy Winna Cheese Dog. I purchased Salted Caramel Roll, Grape Bread, Red Bean Paste Bread, and Cheese Food Bread. When I get home, I will eat the Salted Caramel Roll first and enjoy the rest slowly.

I bought an almond croissant and a mini chocolate danish at Vido France for tomorrow's breakfast. While waiting in line at the register, I couldn't resist reaching for a sparkling pudding a la mode in the refrigerated section. I also picked up a coffee jelly with vanilla mousse. The coffee jelly here is just the right balance of sweetness from the mousse and bitterness from the jelly, making it one of my favorite treats. I ended up getting them for tonight's dessert as well. I plan to take a longer walk tomorrow to make up for it.

Vie de France can be found all over Japan, including in Ikebukuro. I really like their salted French bread. The balance of flavors, crispy texture, saltiness, and juiciness are all very good. The fact that they are a big chain allows them to offer reasonable prices. The quality of Vie de France is consistent no matter where you go. Thank you for the meal! (^人^)

My personal favorite at Viron France is the honey butter bread, but it was ranked as the third most popular item at this store. It seems like they renewed it last fall, but did the price go up from there? Or is it because it's a store in the city center? It was 120 yen. The size is the same as before. You can taste the butter flavor, it's full of honey, and it's sweet and delicious.

I went to Ikebukuro for breakfast. I ordered a morning set right before 11 o'clock. The bread options were sandwich, salted butter roll, and two others. - Sandwich... 440 yen - Salted butter roll... 340 yen You can choose from coffee, tea, milk, or orange juice for your drink. Additionally, you can choose a complimentary side from yogurt, boiled egg, or banana.

The closest chain bakery from my home, similar to "Andersen" in the north exit underground area, but slightly closer to here. Generally cheaper. So, I end up visiting multiple times. "Apple Raisin" (255 yen) doesn't have much information online, so it's hard to recall. It was a sweet dessert-like bread with raisins and possibly apples inside. "Salted Butter French Cheddar Cheese" (153 yen) is a favorite of mine, with a hollow interior and a rich cheddar cheese version. The cheese adds a depth of flavor and enhances the bread's deliciousness. "Frank de Mooch" (326 yen) is a bread with a frankfurter sausage flavor. I always end up devouring it before I even think about its philosophical significance. Meaty and satisfying. "Iced Coffee" (306 yen) at this bakery keeps getting tastier. A bakery cafe located under Tobu at Ikebukuro Station. I was surprised to find that they serve siphon-brewed coffee! The blend coffee was delicious and only 306 yen including tax (you can use PayPay). I went in to kill time, but ended up enjoying a unexpectedly tasty coffee.

I visited this place for the first time before 13:30. It's convenient but located in a relatively quiet area, so it's only about 30% full. I ordered the Hokkaido overflowing corn bread and iced coffee set for 400 yen. Normally, the bread is 220 yen and the iced coffee is a little over 300 yen, so it's quite a good deal. The corn is not only on the surface but also deep inside. The slight sweetness is a bit of a concern. Is it cream? The iced coffee has a proper taste and is delicious. It's just right for a light meal. Thank you for the meal.

Ikebukuro breakfast series. This morning I had bread for breakfast. Visited Viron-san. At the moment, it's the best choice for a bread breakfast. The bread is delicious. Croque-monsieur has plenty of filling. Also, the amount of hot milk in the set drink is more than expected and satisfying. It's nice that you can choose from options like banana, yogurt, or boiled egg. I want to come back again.

For lunch, I felt like having Vidofrance's sandwiches after a long time, so I came here. They had three types of box lunch sets, and I chose this one. It came with a seasonal salad, and for an additional 50 yen, I could add a drink, so I chose an iced cafe au lait. It cost 940 yen in total. Whether it's cheap or expensive depends on how you see it... The quiche in the set was like a soft omelette, which I personally liked. The roast beef croissant sandwich had a nice buttery aroma. The avocado, shrimp, and potato salad sandwich was good too, especially with the sesame flavor of the bread. As for the mini melon bread... I'm not a fan of melon bread to begin with, so I didn't find it tasty. Thank you for the meal.

Viennoiserie's bread seems to prioritize texture, with a moist interior and a crispy exterior. When eaten fresh with high-quality butter, it is soft and delicious with just the right amount of moisture. Even when made into French toast, it remains moist and retains a delicious texture.

I stopped by to kill some time in the early afternoon, and there was a line of 5-6 people! Many elderly people were also there, and I thought it was quite crowded considering the current situation with the coronavirus. I was attracted to the cheap price and the crispy appearance of the French pastry, so I bought one. It was nice that they could warm it up for you if you wanted to eat it in. The outer layer wasn't as crispy as I had hoped, but the moist dough with margarine was delicious. Although there were partitions, the distance between tables was close, making the atmosphere inside the restaurant quite crowded... especially in these times, I felt a sense of oppression in the restaurant.

I visited the Tobu Hope Center, where over half of the store is for dining in. The bread section is relatively small, but there is a large bakery machine in the back. This time, I tried the "half loaf" bread, which was quite sweet.

Local favorite bakery "Vie de France" edition. It can't beat the freshly baked ones, but still delicious. I brought back the bread from this shop after several years. I am the type of person who always chooses freshly baked ones for dine-in and eats as much as I want. When trays with freshly baked signs are brought from the baking area, I add more little by little and eat. Even though I can choose my favorite bread and eat as much as I want, there is a limit to how much my stomach can handle, so in the end, it turns out to be cheaper than the all-you-can-eat freshly baked bread at "Saint Marc" in Tobu Ikebukuro's restaurant area. Now, on that day, under the state of emergency declaration, after 8 pm, Ikebukuro West Exit was overflowing with dinner refugees, and I almost became one myself, so I hurriedly bought bread at this shop. See the receipt for details. Probably a slightly over-baked, blackish croissant that didn't sell well. It tasted crispy and delicious in a different way than usual. I like this hollow type of bread from Vie, as it feels light and easy to eat. But I wonder about the cost-performance ratio. However, I keep repeating it with gusto. (laughs) When "Kobe-ya" was in Ikebukuro Etika, it was the closest chain bakery to my home, so I used it a lot, but now this shop has become the closest chain bakery. I had a sandwich morning at V de France. I ordered a banana, hot coffee, and added a salad. The salad can be quite expensive if bought separately, but adding it to the morning set makes it a great deal. It was delicious.
