I ordered with less rice and the menu was for one dish, so when I sat down, the preparation for Pork Vindaloo began. After waiting for about 2 minutes, the dish was served. Rice and salad are free refills, and a boiled egg is served as a complimentary item. There were 8 different condiments on the table, but I mistakenly used the wrong one at first. The Vindaloo sauce had a sour taste at first, but then I could taste the sweetness and umami flavor, with three tender chunks of meat. The boiled egg was perfectly cooked with a soft yolk. When disposing of the eggshell, a bag was provided on the spoon stand. Thank you for the delicious Vindaloo.

I arrived for a late lunch on the weekend. The restaurant is located about a 10-minute walk from the station, on the 2nd floor of a building that is a popular gourmet spot with several other popular restaurants. They only have counter seating, and once you sit down, they start preparing the pork vindaloo curry, which is the only item on the menu. They offer a free boiled egg (perfectly cooked with a delicious soft yolk) and you can adjust the flavor with spices and achar. The balance of acidity in the pork vindaloo was great, and the aroma and texture of the rice were also excellent.

Pork Vindaloo. It's not too sour, and the spices aren't too strong. The sweetness and acidity of the onions and pork blend well together. It really feels like Pork Vindaloo. It paired well with a tangy salad. There were lots of condiments on the table, making it enjoyable.

The attitude of the staff was great, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very comfortable. As soon as I entered, they informed me that they only had one type of curry. They served a nicely arranged plate, and explained that rice and salad were refillable, and even offered a complimentary boiled egg. The curry was flavorful with a hint of sourness, and the rice was tasty too. When I was leaving some curry on my plate, they kindly asked if I wanted more rice. The additional four types of spices on the table were also delicious, especially the ginger one. I would love to come back again.

This 2nd floor restaurant is located in an alleyway connecting bustling Shibuya to the quieter Ura-Shibu area, known for its long lines for tonkatsu. It is affiliated with the Cristiano group in Yoyogi-Hachiman and offers a mix of Portuguese cuisine, monjayaki, and ramen. The flagship dish is pork vindaloo, which is served as soon as you take a seat at the counter. Regulars start by cracking a complimentary boiled egg themselves. The salad served at the crossroads between curry and rice is a nice touch. The pork vindaloo here is milder than the one at the nearby Spice Post in Yoyogi-Hachiman, with a balanced acidity. While rice and salad refills were available, I didn't feel the need for them. The sauce-to-rice ratio was just right. The salad portion for refills seemed small. I found the food delicious, but I'm not sure why this place is chosen for the Michelin Bib Gourmand every year. The name "Vice President" is a play on the origin of pork vindaloo in Goa, India, and the former US Vice President Al Gore.

Upon entering the store, curry preparation started immediately but there was no explanation, which was a bit surprising. When I asked about the menu, I was told "there's only one kind". I wish they had explained this at the beginning. I also didn't know the price of the curry. Additionally, when I tried to temporarily put an eggshell in a bag, it was thrown away by the staff without asking, which was a bit unpleasant. The curry itself was delicious, but I felt that there was not enough sauce. Even though refills for rice and salad were free, if there's not enough sauce, it doesn't really make sense. In conclusion, the taste was decent, but I was somewhat disappointed with other aspects. Increasing the amount of sauce and providing a simple explanation or greeting at the beginning would enhance satisfaction. I think the atmosphere and service are important in dining experiences. The attitude of the staff can affect the overall enjoyment of the meal. I may consider revisiting for the delicious curry, but I hope to see improvements in the service aspect next time.

After conquering the top 100 curry restaurants on Tabelog, I have been exploring highly rated restaurants to find my favorite spots. Today, before visiting this place, I had curry at another place as part of a curry crawl, making this my second stop.

*Arrived at the restaurant at 2:00 PM. Went up the stairs to the second floor. The interior has a counter with 5 seats. When I sat at the counter, the owner mentioned that they only have one type of curry. I asked if I could choose, but was told no. There is a free soft-boiled egg on the counter.
*At 2:05 PM, the curry was served. The curry looked light and watery. Took a bite of the roux! It had a strong acidity at first, followed by a gradual spiciness. There are various spicy condiments on the table. I tried a few and enjoyed changing the flavor while eating. By gradually changing the flavor, I found my favorite spice and it became even more delicious!
*Finished eating at 2:15 PM and paid in cash.
Thank you for reading until the end! If you could give a 'like', 'follow', 'save the restaurant', or leave a comment, it would be a great encouragement for me. Thank you!

I visited the Bib Gourmand award-winning restaurant around 12 o'clock on a weekend and was able to get in smoothly. The menu only had Pork Vindaloo for 1000 yen. The salad had a refreshing, rich, and spicy taste, each with different spice flavors. The sauce had a spicy kick with a variety of spices, giving it a rich flavor. The dish was complete with the strong umami of the pork. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited for a mystery-solving mission, not for the president, but for the vice president? The Vindaloo curry here is very spicy, but when paired with salad, it becomes quite refreshing. They also provide a free soft-boiled egg to mix in, adding a creamy touch that makes it very delicious. I asked the staff and they explained that the curry is named after Goa on the west coast of India and the former vice president of the United States, Mr. Gore, creating a fusion curry. It made me think about how this hot day is connected to Mr. Gore's warnings about climate change issues. Thank you for the meal.

The spices are strong and it tastes like authentic Indian curry. The restaurant has a small number of seats and a cozy atmosphere. You can have unlimited refills of rice and salad, but even without refills, you will feel satisfied. The chunks of pork in the curry are delicious. This restaurant is Bib Gourmand certified, so those who have tried authentic Pork Vindaloo might appreciate it more, but for me, it was my first time trying this type of curry so I can only say "it was pretty good."

I was aiming for a different restaurant but it was closed, so I decided to visit this place instead. It turned out to be a great choice!! The menu only has Pork Vindaloo but they offer boiled eggs as a service and free refills. As for the taste, the balance of sourness and spiciness is excellent, and it is incredibly delicious. I will definitely come back. Thank you for the meal!! ^_^

That being said, the combination with the daily beef curry... I originally love sour foods, so I don't mind the acidity, and I actually prefer a slightly stronger and spicier curry. It's like imagining the background of this curry, influenced by Portugal with pork or vinegar and garlic, even though it's from India. It tastes even better when you eat it while thinking about how this curry was created.

A curry restaurant located less than a 10-minute walk from Shibuya Station. It is on the second floor of a building past Center Street, with a popular katsudon restaurant "Zuisho" on the first floor. Once you go up to the second floor and walk down a dimly lit corridor, you will find a small and cozy restaurant with only a counter. It feels clean and not overly cramped, so it's quite comfortable. The menu consists of a single dish: Pork Vindaloo! If you sit down quietly, the curry will be served to you. There are four types of spices on the table. The dish comes with a boiled egg as a service for 1000 yen. It's an easy-to-eat bowl with a balanced level of acidity and spiciness. If you feel like it's not spicy enough, you can adjust it with the table spices. The meat is tender and easy to eat in bite-sized pieces. Pork Vindaloo, which has been popular lately, is delicious. Thank you for the meal.

On the second floor of a mixed-use building, there were already two people in line. However, there were only 5 seats available, so there was only one menu item - pork curry. You have to crack the egg on the table and eat it with the rice and curry, which were both served in small portions. You can get a refill of rice though. The taste is delicious with about 3 pieces of meat and some vegetables. It's tasty, but I'm not sure if there's a reason to come back again. Rating: ★3

Located in a back alley near NHK Shibuya and Abema Tower, this restaurant is hidden away in a small building on the second floor. The menu only offers one item, "Pork Vindaloo," which is served promptly by the owner without needing to place an order. The dish is a European-style curry with a tangy tomato base and mild spiciness, served with salad and the option for rice refills. Self-service toppings are available on the table, including options like Fantastic Ginger and Rolling Hurricane Chili Pepper. The Pork Vindaloo has an interesting history, originating as a Portuguese stew that evolved with Indian spices. The flavor is complex and can be further customized with the toppings. The atmosphere is cozy and perfect for a quick and delicious meal, especially during the summer. Overall, this hidden gem of a restaurant is worth a visit and is reasonably priced at 1000 yen.

You can really taste the spices in the curry! It's great that there are plenty of condiments on the table for flavor variations. And best of all, you can get free refills of rice and salad! Unlike other curry restaurants where you often don't feel full, here you can always eat a satisfying amount. I will definitely go back!

I entered the restaurant without much research. There was no menu, and they didn't ask for my order. When I asked if they had a menu, they just said they only serve curry and asked me to wait. The service was a bit unfriendly, but I didn't have to wait long before the curry was served. There was a boiled egg on the table, which I had to peel myself and put the shells in a bag. I added some pickles from the table. Finally, when I tasted the curry, it was delicious! It had a good tangy flavor and a strong aroma of authentic spices. The meat was tender as well. Whether as a pork vindaloo or just a curry, it definitely ranks high in my list of favorites.

Pork Vindaloo for ¥1,000 with an option for an additional ¥300. This was my first visit so I didn't try any flavor variations, but there were plenty of condiments on the table. Rice and salad were free for seconds, and they even offered a complimentary egg. The value for the price was excellent. The Pork Vindaloo had a strong acidity and the pork belly added a distinct flavor, making it a top contender in my book. Simply put, it was delicious. While Shibuya has many appealing restaurants, this place stands out when it comes to curry. I will definitely be visiting again.

Finally visited a famous restaurant known for its pork vindaloo menu only. Upon being seated, they explained everything clearly. Rice and salad are free refills. They also offered a complimentary boiled egg in curry sauce. Surprisingly, they had a daily curry topping option, and on this day it was mutton. As a mutton lover, I couldn't resist. Since they have a single menu item, the service is quick. Despite being almost full, the lunchtime counter was consistently busy. The boiled egg is self-peeled, and they hand you a garbage bag to dispose of the shells. A clever labor-saving idea. Now, onto the curry, it was visually appealing, neatly separated from the salad. When I took a bite, it was a well-balanced curry with no overpowering spices, including a hint of cinnamon. The salad and the small portion of achar were also delicious. I wanted to eat a mountain of salad from the start. While the mutton topping was tasty, it may have been unnecessary as the pork was fantastic on its own. Of course, I left some sauce to have with the extra rice and salad. The tabletop condiments were quite interesting, with yogurt-based, seafood-based, and other varieties. I tried them all, and each one offered a wonderful harmony of flavors. The condiments were well thought out and worth actively using, not just for show. I was completely satisfied and cleaned my plate. I definitely want to revisit, and next time, I'll ask for an extra-large salad. Thank you for the delicious meal.
