It's past 9:30, so I went to Morning at Ikebukuro Station East Exit. This place underwent a major renovation this year and it's my first time here since then. The seating area is a bit narrow, but the common area (aisle) is quite spacious. The counter seats have outlets and USB ports, so many people use their laptops or phones here. It feels like an open walking space. The distance between the counter seats is just right. They serve Morning until 11:00, with options like scrambled eggs for 630 yen, red bean toast for 510 yen, ham and eggs for 610 yen, and sausage for 540 yen. For drinks, they offer blends, cafe lattes, iced coffee, cafe au lait, Americano, royal milk tea, hot tea, and iced tea. You can also substitute juice for an additional fee. The hot tea options are Darjeeling and Earl Grey, while the iced tea is only Earl Grey. I had the sausage breakfast with Darjeeling hot tea. You order drinks at the counter and they bring the food to you. I used the USB port at the counter, and it was convenient that I had a charger for my phone. The Darjeeling tea was weak in both aroma and taste, even after steeping for a long time. I added three portions of milk. The toast had a nice color and the margarine was surprisingly rich. The toast was soft and delicious all the way to the edge. The potato salad had a slightly strong flavor with fresh and crispy lettuce. The sausage and wiener sausage were both herb-infused and easy to eat without any strong flavors. The wiener was crispy and juicy, and tasted great with the ketchup I added later. When I asked for ketchup after the meal, they even gave me a spoon, which was nice. The tea was a bit disappointing, but the fresh lettuce, well-toasted bread, and delicious sausages made it a good breakfast. The receipt had a coupon for half off another drink if you return the same day. This place seems to cater to people working on their laptops or phones alone, which is nice. The layout of tables and chairs other than the counter is a bit cramped, which feels a bit uncomfortable. They ask for a 90-minute stay limit on weekends and holidays, as it's so cozy that you might end up lingering. The staff had lovely smiles and were very pleasant. When you come here, it's a good idea to bring your own charging cord for your devices.
