When watching videos, I noticed there are many sweet potato and sweet potato-based sweets, as well as strawberry ones. Around 4:00 pm, I found a sweet potato sweets shop on Nakamise Street and decided to stop by. They were sold out of Kin-Tsuba, so I chose the Sweet Potato Kin for 151 yen. It's cheap. I paid with PayPay. The inside is made of sweet potatoes. It tastes like pure sweet potatoes without any unnecessary ingredients. The sweetness of the sweet potatoes is elegant and delicious. I just bought it. I'm enjoying it with barley tea in hand.

I have never eaten "kintsuba" before, so I can't compare it, but I think it's totally different. It was my first time trying "imo-kin" and it had a unique texture. I recommend eating it on the spot!! It's better with some moisture too haha.

The rumor is that the sweet potato kin has a shelf life of 24 hours. When asked about the ingredients, the staff mentioned that sugar is also included in the sweet potato kin. The staff only answers with a yes or no when asked if the taste is the same as the long-shelf-life sweet potato kin. It would be more appealing if they could explain the taste and differences. It seems they also sell one for foodies to try, but there was no such information provided.

When I visited Asakusa Temple, I was intrigued and decided to stop by this restaurant. The pie was not too sweet and the crust was delicious. Although I tried the pie this time, everything else on the menu looked tasty too, so I want to try more next time. I recommend stopping by this restaurant while visiting the temple.

I saw it while walking and decided to buy it. The sage prefers sweet potatoes to chestnuts. The taste was surprisingly satisfying with a delicious sweet potato flavor. It's cheap and delicious, so I recommend it. Asakusa Mangan-do Nakamise Store is the best in the world. Thank you for the meal. Namaste.

My first time in Asakusa. I ended up walking from Kuramae. I've been close by many times, but it's my first time at Sensoji Temple and Nakamise Street. It's really crowded and lively. Lots of students in uniforms too! The shops are surprisingly small. I bought sweet potato cakes and sweet potato chestnut pies. The sweet potato cakes are subtly sweet. Not too sweet, which is nice. The filling of the sweet potato chestnut pie is red bean paste and sweet potato chestnut paste. The surface of the pie is caramel made with fermented butter. I've always liked the crispy texture of pies since I was a child. It was a taste that made me want to eat it again.

I bought the taro cream pie. This is... delicious!!! The crispy pie crust and sweetness are irresistible. It's better to buy it as a souvenir. If you don't mind red bean paste, I highly recommend it. The red bean paste has an elegant sweetness and is easy to eat due to its size. It's a recommended souvenir. There is a main store near Honjo-azumabashi Station, so I would like to visit there next time.

On September 30, I visited the Nakamise store at Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa for some errands. On my way back, I bought some souvenirs in Nakamise. I purchased 5 pieces of "Imo Kin" (sweet potato cake) for 151 yen each. They were put in a box right after being baked, so they were still warm. I heard that they taste better after cooling down, so I let them sit for a night. The natural sweetness of the sweet potato was delicious, with a simple and tasty flavor. Thank you for the wonderful treat.

Established in 1886 (Meiji 19), this long-standing traditional Japanese confectionery shop is famous for its "Imokin" in the downtown Asakusa area. At the direct store in Asakusa, they offer live demonstrations of freshly baked and freshly made treats, allowing you to savor the unique flavors of Asakusa. While the Imokin from Mangan-do is popular, I highly recommend trying the "Imo Kuri Pie"! Made with fragrant fermented butter, the crispy pie crust is baked to a caramel-like crispiness on the surface, filled with red bean paste made from Hokkaido beans, and topped with sweet potato and chestnut paste. The harmony between the crispy texture of the pie and the mellow sweetness of the paste is incredibly delicious! If you're exploring Asakusa, I suggest adding this to your food tour! However, if it becomes popular, it might be difficult to get (´・_・`). Even the tour guide came to buy the "Imo Kuri Pie," but unfortunately, it was sold out by lunchtime. If you want to buy it, do so early. The staff were also very polite and provided detailed explanations, which I really appreciated.

Asakusa Mugendo Nakamise Store, located about a 5-minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Tobu Skytree Line, is a Japanese confectionery shop. They have a total of 5 stores in Tokyo and also participate in events all over Japan. Mugendo was established in 1886 and is famous for their freshly baked sweet potato cakes made from carefully selected high-quality sweet potatoes. If you buy 3 pieces, you can get the Imo Kin Trio (dad joke alert). The shop is located on Nakamise Street, which connects the Kaminarimon Gate to the main hall of Sensoji Temple. It is across from Denboin Temple, between "Rengaya" and "Asakusa Chochin Monaka." If you visit around 10 am on a weekday, you might find no other customers. Their lineup includes Kuma Financier with the flavor of sweet potatoes for 270 yen, Asakusa Sweet Potato Chestnut Pie for 238 yen, Imo Kin for 152 yen, Edo Kin Tsuba Cherry Blossom for 216 yen, and Imo Kin Dorayaki for 238 yen, with a fairly limited selection of products. The Imo Kin and Kin Tsuba have a shelf life of within 24 hours. I purchased the classic Imo Kin and a seasonal limited edition product. The Imo Kin (152 yen) is made using carefully selected sweet potatoes to deliver a freshly baked aroma. The sweetness is moderate, highlighting the natural sweetness of sweet potatoes, which are rich in carbohydrates, vitamins, and dietary fiber. The version with a lantern pattern is exclusive to the Nakamise store. The Edo Kin Tsuba Cherry Blossom (216 yen) offers the taste of spring (limited to spring). Cherry blossom leaves are kneaded into the tsuba bean paste, and it is baked in a square shape with a chewy thin skin. The flavor of cherry blossoms and bean paste creates a taste of spring. When enjoyed at home, it has a simple and modest sweetness. Recently, sweet potato varieties with a sugar content of 30 degrees, such as Beniharuka, have been introduced, making them significantly sweeter. With the ability to simply bake them in a toaster oven at home, you can enjoy a sweetness that rivals sweet potato yokan, so further evolution is expected for Imo Kin.

Sweet Potato Soft Serve Ice Cream - 350 yen
I discovered soft serve ice cream at this shop that offers products using sweet potatoes, known as "Imo Kin"! You can choose between a cone and a cup, and this time I chose the cone! The soft serve ice cream comes with a sweet potato crepe. The combination of rich sweet potato cream and light vanilla cream is delicious! The sweet potato flavor is strong and the texture is crispy, making the soft serve ice cream even more enjoyable.

Asakusa, Mangan-do Nakamise Store
Located in the middle of Nakamise Street on the right side of Asakusa Temple. If you tell them you want to eat it right away at the storefront, they will wrap it in individual packaging for you. The slightly warm sweet potato kin is a simple and healthy sweet with a gentle sweetness! It was very delicious.

I purchased a set of taro and seasonal limited edition (chestnut and sweet bean paste) flavors. The filling inside has a refined sweetness and smooth texture, while the outer skin is thin, soft, and chewy, creating a perfect balance. It's a delightful treat, although it doesn't have a long shelf life, making it difficult for gifting.

I purchased the thin-skinned sweet potatoes that my friend's son loves. Next time, I will definitely buy them for home use.
