Today, I was thinking of going to the bodyguard, but then I realized I haven't been here in a while. Since it's not open yet, I'm waiting outside. The menu only has spicy miso ramen. I ordered the spicy miso ramen with a seasoned egg and a side of rice. The interior of the restaurant is clean and suitable for women as well. The ramen has a thick and rich spicy miso broth. The first sip reveals a strong flavor of garlic and other seasonings. The spiciness is not too intense, but it still opens up my pores and makes me sweat. I mix the noodles well in the thick soup. The flat thick noodles are delicious when coated in the soup. I start to sweat from the heat, but I find myself enjoying it. The diced chicken chashu adds a nice touch to the dish. I decide to sprinkle some sansho pepper for a refreshing kick, which makes it even more delicious. Towards the end, the soup becomes less thick and more watery. I finish the meal by eating the rice with the remaining soup. If it weren't for the limited opening hours, I would definitely come back here from time to time. Thank you for the meal!

The simple menu of spicy miso ramen is great. It might be better to call it "maze soba." It was like junk food but delicious. I wish they had extra green onions as a topping, as they go really well with the ramen. It's great that they have a variety of condiments on the table, like sansho pepper and curry powder.

First visit on a weekday night and there were about 5 people lined up in front of the restaurant, making it easy to spot. Upon entering, you purchase a meal ticket from the vending machine next to the entrance. The menu only offers spicy miso ramen with a boiled egg and extra rice (small). The ramen had a thick broth and thick noodles, more like mapo tofu noodles than traditional ramen. When slurping the noodles, droplets splattered, making it difficult to eat without getting your shirt dirty. It was tasty, but quite different from what I had imagined a ramen to be. It seems like this dish could be a hit or miss depending on personal preferences.

I came back to Otsuka-ya again. The thick and spicy miso ramen is delicious as always! I added extra noodles, a seasoned egg, and ginger toppings which were great! It was tough waiting in line under the scorching sun, but Otsuka-ya is definitely worth the wait!! If you haven't tried it yet, I recommend giving it a try at least once!! It was incredibly delicious today too! Thank you for the meal!!

Located on the edge of Ichigaya, this ramen shop specializes in spicy miso ramen and only has counter seats. The thick, rich soup has been a hit with customers. Just a 5-minute walk from Ichigaya towards Iidabashi. The spicy miso ramen is served in a large plate filled with finely chopped green onions, bean sprouts, and plenty of chicken pieces. The thick soup may look heavy, but it's not greasy or overwhelming. The spiciness is mild, similar to a persimmon seed. Anyone can enjoy it. The soup also has a hint of garlic, adding depth and flavor. The noodles are thick and chewy, matching the richness of the soup. It's filling and affordable. With its unique flavor and wallet-friendly prices, it's no wonder this shop is popular.

I visited the restaurant at 3:30 pm. There were 7 counter seats and no table seats. It was full, but one person left while I was buying my meal ticket, so I was able to get in easily. After that, more and more customers kept coming in. The variety of table seasonings was quite abundant. The noodles were thick and chewy with a wavy texture from Mikawa-ya noodle maker. Just with the noodles alone, it was already delicious. The soup was more like a thick, viscous dipping sauce like Hanada's tsukemen broth poured over the noodles. The menu name is "Spicy Miso," but there was hardly any spiciness. In fact, if you chill the noodles and serve them separately, it could easily pass as a tsukemen dish. Also, you can get a large serving for an additional 50 yen, increasing the regular portion from 200g to 300g. Rice is also 50 yen. It's cheap. The ticket machine is very organized. This is good.

I use it for lunch on weekdays because it's close to the university, so it might be quite empty during the summer break. It has a strong garlic flavor and the soup is almost non-existent, but the miso ramen tastes spicy without actually being spicy. The noodles are firm and delicious, and the portion size is quite generous, making it cost-effective.

Today I went to Otsukaya in Iidabashi! It used to be called "Kururi" over 10 years ago when I was a university student, and I used to come here often for their miso ramen. I put on the paper apron at the ticket machine and added ginger as a topping! Although the name of the restaurant has changed, the taste of their rich miso ramen remains the same and delicious! The thick and spicy miso ramen, almost like maze-soba, is so tasty! I still think Otsukaya's spicy miso ramen is the best! The rich and spicy miso ramen costs 800 yen, and you can get a large portion for an extra 50 yen, which is great value! Thank you for the meal!

Spicy miso ramen for 800 yen, flavored egg for 100 yen, small rice for 50 yen. Arrived on a weekday after 7 pm, no line. Got my food in about 10 minutes. You can ask for garlic and ginger toppings. The soup is almost like a solid, more like a thick sauce than a broth. It's not as rich as it looks. The noodles are medium thickness and chewy. The toppings include diced chicken breast chashu, bean sprouts, and green onions. It would have been more satisfying with pork instead of chicken. There are condiments like sansho pepper, chili pepper, black pepper, and curry powder, making it fun to customize the flavor. Be careful with the small rice, as it comes in a full bowl.

Spicy Miso Ramen in a large portion menu is a must-try at this place. I love restaurants like this. The dish is topped with plenty of bean sprouts, a thick and spicy miso sauce, and white leeks, which really whet your appetite. My first bite made me think, "Delicious!" It's not as spicy as it looks, and you can taste the richness of the miso and ground meat. The garlic flavor is a bit strong. The noodles are thick and flat from Mikawa-ya Seimenjo, with a chewy texture that pairs perfectly with the sauce. I really like these noodles. Under the bean sprouts, there's a peppery, tender-like chicken char siu. The more you chew, the more the flavor of the pork comes out, making it delicious. A satisfying, filling dish.

Instead of soup, it has a spicy miso sauce on top. They offer free toppings of ginger and garlic. I asked for ginger because I have to meet someone later. The noodles are thick and the sauce splashes. Even without toppings, the garlic is strong, so it's better to eat it after meeting someone!

At first glance, it looks extremely spicy but it's not spicy at all. Surprisingly not spicy. The noodles seem to have absorbed the soup, but that's just how this ramen is. Seeing the ramen of the person next to me, I realized I'm not the only one feeling this way. Located in Ichigaya, it's called Otsukaya. The door of the store reads "Otsuka-ya." Only the owner knows which is the correct spelling. The ramen menu offers only one option: Spicy Miso Ramen for 800 yen. It's amazing, are you sure about this? The only side menu options are extra noodles, rice, and flavored egg. The quiet and deserted ticket vending machine is nice because there's no need to hesitate. Since it's not spicy, the flavor is really good. The rich spicy miso clings to the thick noodles so much that it feels like it couldn't get any more intense, and it's hot so talking during the meal is impossible. But then again, I'm dining alone so there's no need for conversation. Spicy Miso Ramen: 800 yen.

There are 7 seats and there is usually a long line. Today, we had to wait in the heat for a long time because the customers in front of us were a chatty couple. It's a matter of personal preference, but the soup is thick and the noodles are thick. It has bean sprouts, pork slices, and green onions. And the garlic is really overpowering. People who like this kind of taste may enjoy it, but I don't think I will visit again.

Located along the outer moat at the midpoint between Ichigaya and Iidabashi, this popular ramen shop quickly fills up within 10 minutes of opening, with a line forming outside. The shop has only 6 counter seats. The menu consists of only one type of spicy miso ramen, with the option to add garlic and ginger toppings. Many regular customers order their ramen with extra garlic and ginger. The spicy miso ramen is not very spicy but rich and has a thick sauce-like consistency. Thick and short noodles are used. If you order less noodles, you will receive a complimentary seasoned boiled egg. There are various condiments such as pepper and curry powder on the table for flavor enhancement. The background music in the shop is Lo-Fi hip-hop by nujabes. When there is a line, customers should line up before purchasing a meal ticket, then enter the shop to buy the ticket and hand it over.

For today's lunch, I was originally planning on having South Indian food at Bawan, but I ended up changing my plans when I saw that there was no line at Otsuka-ya. I decided to go there for some spicy food instead. When I arrived, two out of seven tables were available. I ordered the usual 200g of ramen without seasoned egg (800 yen) with grated ginger and garlic. It had been a while since I had their incredibly thick miso ramen. The noodles were almost like a thick sauce with miso flavor. I mixed in the chopped green onions, ginger, and garlic before eating. It's been so long, but as always, I crave it during this hot and humid weather. On the table, there were condiments like chili oil, vinegar, curry powder, shichimi, and pepper to customize the flavor. Despite sweating a bit, I left the restaurant feeling satisfied in the heat.

Today I visited this restaurant. Spicy miso ramen 800 yen, large size 50 yen extra, small rice 50 yen. I had been wanting to go to this place for a while, but it wasn't as spicy as I imagined. I was a bit disappointed. However, the large size with plenty of garlic and bean sprouts had a good amount of volume, and even though the broth was hardly visible, it was quite enjoyable. The rice for 50 yen was a good amount for the price.

Otsukaya, a restaurant always with a long line, was unexpectedly not crowded around noon on a weekday. I couldn't resist and decided to go in. The menu is simple with few options, so I quickly chose the Spicy Miso Ramen (800 yen) and made sure to add a flavored egg (100 yen). The owner managed the place alone, efficiently preparing my order. Unlike other ramen places where you start by sipping the soup, here you eat the soup itself. It was thick and flavorful, making the noodles a perfect match. There were various spices on the table for seasoning, and I personally found that curry spice went well with the ramen. I almost finished the soup, so even without ordering a large portion, I felt quite satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

I came to Otsukaya in Ichigaya at 5:56 pm on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. The restaurant has a Foodlog rating of 3.75 and was one of the top 100 restaurants in 2019. There were two customers in front of the store, and it quickly became full when it opened at 6:00 pm. The ramen had a large amount of green onions and sesame seeds, and the thick spicy miso soup was comparable to about three times the spiciness of Kitamoto's Hokkyoku ramen. However, despite its appearance, it was not very spicy. Many other customers ordered ginger and garlic, which would probably go well with this flavor. Even without garlic and ginger, the spicy miso ramen was delicious enough. This place seems like a favorite spot for students from nearby universities like Hosei and Chuo. If I were a Hosei student, I would probably come here often. Maybe because I've been having soy sauce or salt ramen a lot recently, I found this ramen to be really tasty. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to try the popular miso ramen shop in Tokyo, so following my visit to Mikeneko, I went to Otsukaya. It is said that the owner of the very popular shop "Kururi," which Hikakin also loves, reopened as a spicy miso ramen shop. I had never tried Kururi before, so I was curious about what a thick miso ramen would taste like. I arrived around 11:30 am on Thursday and was third in line. By the time I entered, there were about 10 people waiting. The interior of the shop was clean. I ordered the spicy miso ramen and a flavored egg. I also asked for garlic and ginger on the side. The price was reasonable, at less than 1000 yen. The soup was indeed thick, but the taste was not as strong as it looked. I expected it to be spicier. The spiciness was also not too intense. The noodles were flat and chewy, which I found delicious. The toppings included what looked like minced meat and bean sprouts, which complemented the ramen well. The egg was perfectly cooked and tasty. The soup tends to splash, so wearing a paper apron is recommended. The tickets are self-service at the machine, so make sure not to forget to take one. If you are expecting a strong flavor based on the appearance, it may be slightly different. It is not as intense as it looks, making it a miso ramen suitable for everyone.

A friend recommended this place and took me there, and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was! They only have one type of spicy miso ramen on the menu, which shows their dedication to perfecting that one dish. Personally, I love the thick, almost gravy-like consistency, and the flavor with a strong garlic kick was right up my alley. The price was also very reasonable for the taste, making it great value for money! I will definitely be going back.
