SANZOU TOKYO is a standing curry stand that opened in June 2021 at "reload," a new commercial facility located on the Odakyu Line ground line track site from Shimokitazawa to Higashi-Kitazawa. The second-generation owner of the famous curry shop "Curry no Mise Bombay Honpo" in Kashiwa, Chef Koichi Isono (ISONOCURRYMAN), is in charge of this establishment. The logo of the restaurant, three elephants (SANZOU), represents three skilled individuals in clothing, food, and living. They offer a modernized version of traditional Indian curry from the "Ueno Delhi" lineage, which is considered the origin of Indian curry in Japan. Located in Shimokitazawa, a town known for its popular curry shops offering various types of curry, SANZOU TOKYO stands out as a unique addition to the area. The stylish white building of "reload" houses the restaurant, with a unique concept of showcasing collaboration items with young artists alongside the curry. The interior is divided into a gallery space and an eat-in space, with a standing counter seat area. Despite the challenging standing-eating style in Shimokitazawa, known for its youthful and trendy clientele, the modern interior of SANZOU TOKYO blends in well. As someone who prefers not to linger in restaurants, I appreciate the high turnover rate of standing-eating establishments. The experience of enjoying a spicy curry in a stylish setting creates a unique atmosphere that is characteristic of Shimokitazawa. All menu items are available for takeout, and there are benches and tables outside the restaurant for dining al fresco. I ordered the Uluru Curry with cheddar cheese topping for 1200 yen, and the Sedona Curry for 1500 yen. The Uluru Curry is a spicy Kashmir curry with minced chicken, while the Sedona Curry is a seasonal curry with beef tendon meat and beets. Both curries were flavorful and satisfying. I also tried the coleslaw salad for 150 yen, which had a smooth texture and a sweet and creamy taste due to the homemade mayonnaise and wine vinegar dressing.

Developing rapidly in Shimokitazawa. A curry restaurant located inside the Reload with a stylish and modern interior. All staff are locals from India. It's a unique and stylish standing curry restaurant. Purchase a meal ticket and wait for about 10 minutes. Rice and curry pot arrive. There are many types of curry, and the popular one is the spicy hot curry. I opted for a less spicy curry, and it was delicious with tender chicken and a healthy roux made with plenty of onions. The staff's service was wonderful, and it's great how Tokyo can coexist with foreigners. Thank you for the meal.

This is my first visit. The restaurant is a stand-up eating style. I have had stand-up soba before, but stand-up curry is a first for me. There are two staff members, both locals. There is a certain authentic atmosphere here. I ordered the Korma Curry with chicken, medium spicy for 1100 yen (tax included). I did some research beforehand and found out that this restaurant serves Delhi-style curry. I often hear about Delhi-style curry but I never really understood what it was. The curry had a delicious taste with the acidity of fruits like apple and tomato. It uses a lot of oil but I didn't feel heavy afterwards. The curry here is served with Japanese rice, which I think is the best match for this curry. The chicken pieces were juicy and tender, and I appreciated the pickles on the side. Towards the end of my meal, the staff quickly brought out a spicy and sweet chai tea, which was a nice touch. I was very satisfied with my meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

A shop located in the Area Reload, stretching from Shimokitazawa Station towards Higashikitazawa. The interior has only 8 seats at a concrete counter. I bought a Sunset Curry for ¥1,200 by purchasing a ticket from the vending machine. Credit card payment was also accepted. The curry roux from Colma Curry is mild, with chicken tikka as a nice accent. Looking at the menu, it seems that the curry options are either beef or chicken, and I would like to try a vegetable curry as well.

On this day, I reunited with old friends after a long time in Shimokitazawa (it had been a while since I last visited Shimokitazawa). We decided to go eat curry, and chose this restaurant. It was a modern building with a stand-up style. I ordered the Sedona Curry for ¥1500 along with a beer. The curry was like nothing I had ever tasted before and it was quite a shock! It had a mix of beef tendon, minced pork, and beets. I always thought beets were used for sugar, but it turns out they can be used in cooking too! Despite having two chili marks for spiciness, I found it to be more of a medium level of heat. It was an exotic and unique curry that left me impressed. When I asked what country's curry it was, I was told "Japan" with a laugh. I was so amazed by the evolution of curry that I can't wait to come back again!

At the Bombay branch in Ebisu, a legendary standing curry chain, the Red Keema, a hidden menu item, can be enjoyed as a default menu item. It contains nuts, eggplant, mushrooms, and simple but deeply flavorful minced meat and spices that become more delicious with each bite! It was a bit lacking in spiciness for me, so next time I might go for extra spicy.

Thanks to Tokyo Bombay, I've become obsessed with Kashmir curry and I can't stop eating curry lol. Sanzo Tokyo, supervised by Kashiwa Bombay, is delicious. Can't get enough. It's stylish. Another curry restaurant that I want to visit again has been added ♩

SANZOU TOKYO in Shimokitazawa! Their chicken minced meat red keema, Uluru curry is amazing! It's not a standing bar, but a standing curry shop. The rice is cooked firm and goes perfectly with the curry. The spiciness was manageable, so next time I'll challenge the Death Valley! The post-meal chai service was sharp and mercilessly sweet, it was the best (*^^*)

I still prefer to eat delicious food slowly to fully appreciate it. This restaurant has been on my mind since it opened, but I realized that this style doesn't suit me. The "Petra Curry (1,300 yen)" has a moderate level of spiciness, allowing the flavor of the minced meat to stand out. The curry itself is of a very high quality taste. Finally, the iced chai is satisfying in terms of flavor. It might be better to eat slowly on the terrace outside to fully enjoy the lingering taste. This place may not be suitable for those who want to leisurely savor the deliciousness, but it is still a good restaurant in terms of taste.

It was my first visit in a while. I ordered my favorite Kashmir curry. I'm currently on a diet, so I asked for less rice. The Kashmir curry in the pot looked beautiful. Just looking at it made me regret asking for less rice (lol). This curry, with its concentrated umami flavor amidst the spiciness, is truly delicious in Shimokitazawa. I want to visit again when I'm not on a diet! Thank you very much!!

I visited this shop in Shimokitazawa right after it opened at 11 am. I purchased a ticket for the Uluru Curry for ¥1,200. Although I was able to get in on the first round, a line quickly formed. It is a standing-eating style shop. The order of serving may vary depending on the curry. After waiting for about 30 minutes, the curry was served. It was a chicken keema curry, rich and creamy, very delicious. It is indeed spicy, but not a burning kind of spiciness. The iced chai after the meal was very spicy. Thank you for the meal!

Visited the restaurant in Ginza during lunchtime with two friends. There were two customers in front of us at the ticket machine, and two customers eating at the back of the 7-seat counter. There were empty seats available, but for some reason, we were told to wait outside while the other customers were seated. After a while, we were finally allowed in and were seated as we had imagined before. The food was okay, but nothing exceptional. The cost performance was not good, so I probably won't visit again.

I visited on the weekend for lunch. Since it was past lunchtime, it was not crowded. They checked my temperature at the entrance and I purchased a ticket from the machine. You can choose the level of spiciness, which is nice. I had the Uluru Curry (Red Keema). The interior is standing room only, but it has a spacious and stylish impression. Usually, standing room only places are cramped and messy, but somehow it feels reassuring and comfortable. The restaurant has 3 operations but seemed like there was only one staff member who might be new. First, the hot rice arrived, followed by the curry. The Uluru Curry is an extremely spicy red keema curry made with minced chicken, served on top of rice. I also added some pickled onions and cucumbers on the side. The spiciness level is indicated by 4 chili marks. Since it's keema, you can feel the soft texture and the aroma of spices when you take a bite. The cashews and shimeji mushrooms add a nice touch, and despite the generous portion, it's easy to enjoy. I had a fragrant cardamom ice chai after the meal. I think I'll try the Kashmir next time. Thank you for the meal! ♡

The colors of the cheddar cheese and Uluru keema are irresistible, making your mouth water just by looking at them. The rice is perfectly cooked, providing a nice texture that complements the keema curry well. Despite the spiciness, I managed to finish it all, as the addictive flavor of Uluru Curry keeps you coming back for more. I look forward to trying a different curry next time. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The other day, I attended a bonsai event and ordered the Fuji Curry spicy version. Of course, coleslaw and egg are a must (lol). The flavor of white sesame is addictive. I was lucky to have a seat at the edge, so I could enjoy my curry while looking at the cherry blossoms, making it taste twice as delicious as usual. The curry battle zone in Shimokitazawa is really heating up. I look forward to trying out more places. Thank you for the meal!

A popular curry restaurant that opened in June 2021, located about a 5-minute walk from Shimokitazawa Station (Odakyu Line, Keio Inokashira Line). It is situated inside the stylish building of reload, which was built on the former railway tracks due to the underground construction of the Odakyu Line. Despite being open for less than two years, the restaurant already has a rating of 3.61 on Tabelog. It is important to note that this is a standing-only establishment, meaning there are no chairs available. The atmosphere is not conducive to leisurely curry enjoyment. Each curry comes with chai, and rice is served instead of naan. Prices range from 900 yen for the cheapest Chicken Curry to 1500 yen for the most expensive Sedona Curry made with beef tendons. The most popular choice seems to be the Death Valley Curry priced at 1100 yen, known for its extreme spiciness. I personally enjoy curry but can't handle very spicy food, so I opted for the second spiciest option, the Sedona Curry. Orders are placed using a ticket machine, which I prefer for hygiene reasons. The Sedona Curry (with chai) costs 1500 yen and is finished off after your order is placed. This curry is medium-spicy and generously incorporates onions, giving it a gentle sweetness reminiscent of onion soup in curry form. Despite my aversion to spiciness, I did not find this medium-spicy curry to be hot at all. The menu offers an even spicier option labeled "Extremely Spicy," so it would be nice to have a level in between. I may try the "Extremely Spicy" next time. Finally, chai is served, a sweetened cold tea that comes with your meal. Shimokitazawa experiences a significant difference in population between weekends and weekdays, with long lines forming at this restaurant on weekends but no lines on weekdays. During my visit around 6:30 PM on a weekday, there were no other customers when I entered the restaurant. This allowed me to enjoy my meal at a leisurely pace, despite the standing-only seating. The staff at the restaurant are foreigners who wear masks diligently, contributing to a safe and enjoyable dining experience.

I heard "Sanzou Curry" in Shimokitazawa is delicious and rushed over! The Petra Curry ❤️❤️ Beef and Sichuan Pepper Keema with Cashew Nuts, Eggplant, and Shiitake Mushrooms have a great texture! It has a Western feel but the Keema flavor is irresistible. I want to try other menu items too, but be prepared for lines on the weekends!

SANZOU TOKYO @ reload, located in Shimokitazawa, offers Kashmir curry. If you want it spicy, it will cost an extra 200 yen. I was told to come back soon because a new branch is opening in Shimokitazawa, just like the one I visited in Ebisu two years ago. I finally made it there!
