I went to Shibuya for a friend's wedding and had banana juice from Banana Shock for the first time in a while. It was so delicious with the sweetness! I was on a diet, but couldn't resist adding protein topping. I think it might have been better without it though... I slightly regret it (laughs). Thank you for the meal! ❤️

Banana juice is something you could easily make at home, that's what I used to think, and still kind of do. But after discovering the deliciousness of banana juice from specialty shops, I decided to embark on a banana juice tour in Tokyo. First stop, "Banana Shock" in Shibuya. Apparently, there's a division between shops that focus on the juice aspect and those that pursue the richness of bananas. Banana Shock is known for its richness. As I arrived, I realized it was in 109. Despite feeling out of place, I decided to go in. The place was filled with young girls. The banana juice came in two sizes, R (Regular) for 473 yen and L (Large) for 528 yen. I opted for the L size. I ordered a plain banana juice without any toppings. The first sip was thick and creamy, with a strong banana flavor. It was cold and smooth, with a gentle sweetness from the bananas. The staff mentioned that each L size contains two and a half bananas. It was definitely worth the visit. The staff were friendly and even shared tips on making rich banana juice at home. After leaving Banana Shock, I headed to the next banana destination...

Located in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, on the basement 2nd floor of SHIBUYA109, this is a banana juice specialty store. As of September 2022, they have three stores in SHIBUYA109 main store, Shinjuku Odakyu Department Store, and Yokohama Minatomirai. The nearest station is Shibuya Station, which has undergone a big transformation in recent years. The banana juice here is super rich and delicious! I have visited their store at Shinjuku Odakyu Department Store before, where they serve only banana juice and banh mi. The banana juice is made with only bananas and milk, without using sugar, and has a shelf life of 18 minutes. One unique feature is that you can choose from about 22 toppings to create your own customized banana juice. This time, I tried it at SHIBUYA109. It's slightly embarrassing to wander around 109 among all the girls (*´Д`*) There was one gal-like staff member. Orders are taken verbally and payment is made in advance. Today's order was the Regular Size Super Rich Banana Juice for 473 yen. Despite not using sugar, the sweetness of the bananas is enough. It's a perfect drink for a hot day. Delicious! #FrontRow #BananaJuice #SHIBUYA109 #Sweets #Love&Peace #99%FemaleCustomers #MainStore #JuiceBar #NaturalFood #Takeout #VariousToppings #LikelyToRevisit

The selling point of this place seems to be that the expiration date is 18 minutes. Well, it doesn't take 18 minutes to finish drinking it, but I am somewhat curious about what it would taste like after 18 minutes. However, I'm not really interested enough to wait 18 minutes. After 18 minutes, it would just become lukewarm, right? Would that affect the taste? Aren't all banana juices from different stores the same? It's just a normal delicious banana juice. It's a very rich banana juice: 430 yen + tax.

I tried the banana juice that I was curious about after seeing it on TV. It is sugar-free and has a shelf life of 18 minutes. I tried the normal flavor. It is rich, but has a refreshing aftertaste. The simple deliciousness of the banana really comes through. I felt like this could become more popular and spread nationwide.

I tried the cream coffee challenge. There is a cafe known for its coffee that offers a menu item called "Queen of Amber," which combines cream and coffee like a cocktail. This cafe can be considered the "Princess of Amber." The cream and coffee are delicious, but not very deep. Still, it is fresh and tasty. I think it's amazing. Thank you for the meal!

I was drawn to this place because they don't use sugar. I had seen a travel show before featuring a banana specialty produce store and it piqued my interest. When asked if a business can thrive just by focusing on bananas, it turns out this shop also has a chain of banana juice stores in Tokyo that are quite prosperous. I'm not sure how this shop is related to the produce store I saw, but their business, passed down through three generations, seems to have unique know-how that cannot be easily replicated. At this juice shop, there are various toppings available, and I opted for almond milk with added protein. It was a bit pricey, but if you can easily get protein in the city, then that's great. The banana juice had a strong sweetness that you wouldn't believe was sugar-free. It was perfect for a nutritious boost in the summer. It was delicious.

There is a banana juice specialty shop on the B2 floor of 109. I ordered a large size (528 yen) without choosing any toppings because I found it too troublesome. The drink was not overly sweet, with just the natural sweetness of bananas making it refreshing to drink. Recently, I noticed that 109 has become a place where middle-aged salarymen gather to relax. I couldn't help but smile as I saw them chatting while enjoying Yakult ice cream from Imadaki Kitchen.

In the basement of Shibuya's 109, there is a shop where they sell soft serve ice cream, tapioca, and trendy sweets, and high school girls are taking selfies like crazy. I noticed a shop that offers sugar-free banana juice with a shelf life of 18 minutes, so I decided to order it. The banana juice was incredibly rich and satisfying, and it's hard to believe that it's sugar-free. They were also running some kind of campaign, and I received a cute postcard with lovely illustrations. Overall, I was very satisfied with the deliciously rich banana juice! On this day, I visited the Shibuya, Ebisu, Daikanyama, and Nakameguro areas. The trend of tapioca specialty shops seems to be fading. As they say, pride comes before a fall... I mean, not that tapioca has gotten too big for its britches. Just a heads up (out of consideration for what, I wonder). In its place, banana juice specialty shops are on the rise. Oh, sorry. I misspoke. It's all about banana juice (ry Some places that originally sold tapioca drinks have changed their focus to banana juice. They continue to offer tapioca while also introducing banana juice. One such place is "Banana Shock" in Shibuya 109. Located in the food area, this shop has emerged in the past few months. It seems to be an offshoot of the tapioca drink shop "ROAR BROTHERS," offering both tapioca and banana juice. Despite being surrounded by trendy young girls in Shibuya 109 (a term outdated by 20 years), I forge ahead. Here, you can customize your banana juice with various toppings like kinako, black sugar, honey, apple, cocoa, and even protein or glutamine powder. Oh, and you can add tapioca to your banana juice too... Here's what I tried: - Super Rich Banana Juice with Komatsuna Topping, size L A fresh banana juice with an 18-minute expiration date, known for its freshness. I opted for a healthy topping of komatsuna. The drink has a beautiful yellow-green color, with visible bits of komatsuna. The banana juice is thick and goes down smoothly. The banana flavor is stronger than the komatsuna, and the drink is nicely chilled. As summer approaches, cold banana juice will be a delicious treat. It seems like more and more of these shops will pop up in commercial facilities. Thank you for the meal!

On the 2nd basement floor of building 109, there is a floor where you can enjoy sweets and light meals. Among the various options, I found a banana juice shop that looked delicious! Banana juice was quite popular for a while. I was drawn to the fact that it was sugar-free and decided to try it. The expiration date was a surprising 18 minutes. The banana juice cost 430 yen, and for an additional 50 yen, you could change the milk to soy milk or almond milk. I chose soy milk. It was a super healthy combination. The consumption tax was 10%. There is a small eat-in space available. There were not many chairs. The banana juice was delicious! It was refreshingly cold and didn't taste like soy milk at all. I should have gotten the larger size! I was able to pay with PayPay.

At Einspanner, you can first enjoy the taste of whipped cream and then mix in coffee to enjoy the marriage of flavors. The coffee is a dark roast with an equal amount of whipped cream on top. It's like Viennese coffee. It's been trending in cafes in Korea lately.

Exit from JR Shibuya Station Hachiko Exit and head to Shibuya 109, where the shop is located on B2 floor. It opened on June 28, 2019! I tried the most popular Coffee Tapioca Black Sugar Milk (with cow's milk). The chewy coffee-flavored tapioca matched perfectly with the black sugar coffee milk, a must-try for coffee lovers. The taste is smooth and easy to drink without the bitterness of coffee. In addition to Coffee Tapioca Black Sugar Milk (with cow's milk), they also have Matcha Coffee Tapioca Black Sugar Milk (with cow's milk), Oreo Coffee Tapioca Black Sugar Milk (with cow's milk), Coffee Tapioca Protein Shake, and Coffee Tapioca Coco Fred. This shop is the birthplace of Coffee Tapioca Black Sugar Milk. Highly recommended for tapioca and coffee lovers.

I had some time before going to see the stage play "Kirei" starring Sadao Abe and Ryunosuke Kamiki at Theatre Cocoon, so I decided to stop by the B2 floor of 109 where there are many dessert shops. They had tapioca drinks, but since it's a coffee shop, I decided to try their signature menu item, the Einspanner Hot (561 yen), which I've been curious about since I saw it in Minato Mirai. It had a thick homemade cream on top of strong coffee. The contrast was like enjoying a Nicolashka, and the crunch of the sugar added a nice touch. It was delicious, but personally, I would prefer a bit more bitterness to savor (the cream taste was quickly followed by the coffee and then the sugar). I wish they had a larger size available. As a side note, I noticed they also offer banana juice after I placed my order. I'll try the banana juice next time (but what about the coffee?).
